STS first time!

Good Afternoon everyone. It is so grey and cold here today. I feel so bad for you guys who are expecting over a foot of snow. I hope you are stocked up on lots of comfort food. I hate everything about snow but I do enjoy shoveling it. I like to do it while it is snowing. It is so quiet and peaceful and only a few cars go by. We bought a Toro electric snow thrower last year since I am growing older. Luckily we haven't had to use it yet. Do you ladies shovel snow or leave it for the men?
My husband is off today and we went to Costco. Now he is packing up some stuff.

Betty I wrote to UY not DD and I have not heard a thing back from them. Stay safe during the snowstorm. Any word on when the bike will be there?

Mary I hope you can work from home tomorrow.

Colleen I am so impressed with all of the miles that you do on your spin bike. ColleenK uses a rebounder on some of the exercises to save her knees. I can't remember what she does but I will look back and see if I can find you some suggestions for using one. I know you feel great knowing that your body looks its best. I wish I could say the same.

Missy What kind of sports car are you looking at? My Highlander is dark green and my husbands tundra is gold.

Jean

Jean---I am looking at Honda Civic Coupe and Honda Accord Coupe. They are so cute and girly! And I like the fact that they are coupes (2 doors). Sporty looking!

They get •Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 36 and EPA city (mpg): 25

:D:p:)

Tim and I never plan on children...so we dont need the extra 2 doors! LOL:D

Hi everyone-

Sorry I haven't checked in in awhile. I've been so busy and then by the time I'm relaxing before bed I just want to space out and watch Friday Night Lights. LOVE that show. I'm on season one. It's my latest obsession :)

I've been getting some good workouts in. Started Meso 2. I did legs yesterday and have some great DOMS :) YAY! Today was CF and Core 2. The other day I did 4DS Double Cardio Step premix.

I'm at work now. Charting done. Assessments and meds all passed. Is it 3:30 yet?! I miss my little guy! Tony is off today and with him. He has been doing so well. Lately he has been getting up at 5:30 though instead of 7. And last night he got up at 1 and 5:30...makes for a tired mama but that's nothing coffee can't take care of. I do try and minimize that though. I'm pretty sure he is teething. He drools a lot and chews on his fist. He hasn't been too fussy though. So in love! He is just the best :)

Betty- Way to do Bi's and Tri's and Core2...that one is rough. I have been doing it every other day and still find it so hard! YUM! Your mocha sounds so good :)

Missy- Glad you decided to get a car. Way better on gas mileage. My car is sliver and Tony's red. He is convinced he gets pulled over more because of the color but I'm not so sure. He's not the best driver ;) Did I ever tell you I got those Skinny Cow PB choc candies?! WOW! SO GOOD! And I was good and only had one....a day lol!

Jean- I have not tried raspberry ketones but have heard the same thing. Let us know if you try them. If you get good results, I'm on board :) Way to get your workouts in. Must feels so great to see all that defintion...keeps ya motivated that's for sure :)

Mary- Take it easy with your knee. My guess is it is the high impact. My knee had been hurting recently so I cut back on high impact and also got new shoes (ncie excuse huh ;)) and that seemed to fix it. Wishing you the same luck!

Carolyn- Ouch! Cuda and your foot. I grimaced when I read that. Hoping you get some relief soon but it does sounds like working out is going better so that's great! I had to laugh about the "hellacious Core2" comment...isn't that the truth?!

Colleen- So glad you got UY. I'm so getting it too. That's a great deal. I'm tempted to wait and see if it goes lower but I really want it. Date night was good, EXCEPT...we texted Tony's brother during intermission and he told us B hadn't stopped crying the entire time. I was sort of mad he didn't text us sooner. My poor lil guy! We left immediately. He was sleeping by the time we got there. Not sure what happened but I'm sure they did all they could. The place was a mess. Bib in the corner, bottle here, another bottle there, gas drops in the kitchen, dropper in the living room, nuk lost. Yikes!

Hi Marie! Great to hear from you! We know you're busy with a new baby, a full-time job, and Cathe;). As long as you check in once in a while we're happy. I can't believe the workouts you do! Way to go starting Meso 2!
Yikes, what a chaotic scene after babysitting B!
How are you liking your new shoes?

Carolyn, the stores you hit today sound so fun! Just my kind! Do we ever need the stuff we find in those stores?? That's just it. You never even knew you needed them!:D
I can't believe you like to shovel! I hate the whole thing--cold air, whipping winds, heavy snow:confused:. I do go out and help shovel though. Now that the boys are older, they help out too. DH just got the snowblower working today, thank goodness! I think because we didn't use it last year, the gas and other liquids in there go bad.
I'm guessing we are going to get a school snow day tomorrow! Will be hunkering down at home for the next couple of days.

Time for the weather forecast on the 5:00 news!

Colleen I browsed this forum and ColleenK has a Jumpsport JS 250 rebounder. She uses it for moves such as Jack discs , tuck jumps , frog hops and air jacks. That should give you an idea. She seems to use it alot.

Carolyn you will be fine with whatever food you have. It may not be what you want , but you won't starve. Enjoy your sister. it sounds like you had a successful day of shopping.

Betty You are lucky you have 3 men in the house to shovel the snow. You can just lay in front of the fire and read books and watch movies. Sometimes I wish I had some grown sons.

Marie You should enjoy Meso 2 better than 1. I guess you remember that though. B is getting cuter with every picture. He sure is a happy little baby. My husband loved Friday Night Lights. He was so unhappy when it went off the air.

Jean

Good evening! Cooked tacos tonight!!! Now watching y&r!

Next tuesday...I am going to a 90 minute free zumba class with a girl I know! Should be fun! Its from 5:30-7:00.

Just finished afterburn! Love that one!

If you like horror movies....I watched case 39 several days ago....it was pretty good!

Hope you girls stay warm! And safe!

Check in later!

School's cancelled for us too! The only plus is that we get to sleep an hour or two more. Otherwise, having them home when all they want to do is play video games is:mad:!

I went food shopping this morning, somewhat early. Everyone was out there! Note to self: never shop the day before a blizzard!

I always feel guilty if I don't go out to help shovel, even if I loathe the cold! Often I'll put in a hour or so, or until I can't feel the tips of my fingers and toes anymore:confused:.

We had dinner out. Italian. Can't ever go wrong with pasta:D! It was very rich and delicious--I had homemade gnocchi with chicken, spinach, tomatoes, crispy bits of pancetta, and a decadent cream sauce. And we split a tiramisu square. Kaching! 2000 calories!

Marie, I just want to snuggle Breckin and sniff him! He is so darling! And you are such a progressive mom! Yes, you can have it all!

Carolyn, check your freezer for forgotten food if you run out this weekend!:D

Already snowing here, no school, and I will work from home - yay! I slept an extra half hour and then did Supercuts, I really like that one.

Marie, how cute is Breckin! I would want to hold him all the time. It sounds like you are managing everything really well, and you should be proud of yourself for keeping up with your workouts.

Carolyn, those sound like my kind of stores. Which location did you go to? I haven't been to the outlets in a long time.

Betty I had hit Market Basket Wed. night and it was already crazy, can't imagine what it would have been like yesterday. I think we will also be getting some leftovers out of the freezer. We end up throwing alot out because I can't remember when it was from.

Colleen, yes, I still like my new job. I am in IT, I used to do .net programming but now I do salesforce.com. One problem with the new place is they keep bringing in bad food. Wed. is donuts, and then Thurs. is bagel day. They bring in bagels and pastries from Panera, and it is in the common area so it is hard to keep walking past it without taking something.

Dh will be back in a couple of hours, so glad as he will use the snow blower and I have a hard time getting that thing started. Have a great day!

Yup, just woke up so I'm still in a fog!. I really needed the sleep. Been so tired all week!
How do you gals get up at the crack of dawn and go straight to work out??
Boys are still in bed!

It is snowing very lightly, and the ground is only faintly white. Mother Nature, be kind to us!

Tabatacise or AOLIH might be in order....

Good morning.

Today was ballet body. TOTM started today too. That totally confirms my lack of energy the past few day. I am working from home today so I didn't get up until 5:50. It felt good to sleep in. I can't wait to sleep in till 7:30 tomorrow. Yep that what time the kids usually get up on the weekend. Once they are up I'm up.

Jean, thank you so much for researching for me. I'm tempted on the jump sport but I don't know yet either. I need some other form of cardio and I will get burned out by just doing the bike 3 days per week. We have a treadmill but its in the basement an I hate working out down there plus the dust really aggregates my allergies. The basement is not finished. I've asked DH to bring the tm up stairs but he laughed. I have no room in my workout room for it and we are too anal of people I have it anywhere else.

Carolyn, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. How often does your sister visit? Do you ever get to go see her in GA? That's so great that you get along so well with your sister. I have two and I wonder how the 3 of us grew up in the same house together. We are all so different. Although my oldest sister and I have gotten closer over the last year. I do enjoy spending time with her.

Missy, you look fantastic!! Good luck with the car. My car is silver and DH SUV is blue. Funny I've driven an SUV for over 12 years and in Augusts DH and j switched he dries the SUV now and I drive the car. It's a nice change if pace.

Mary, so glad you are able to WFH today. I hope my UY shows up today. I can't wait to try it out. I have a team of .net developers that work for me. I manage development and operations now, but I used to do DB development and .net development. How do you like sales force.com over .net development?

Jean. BCP is business continuity planning. Essentially what us your back up plan for continuing to work due to storms, power outages, etc. back in the day we just got a day off work now with modern technology that doesn't happen anymore. -:(

Betty, I'll keep m figures crossed that you get your bike today.

Mare, B is such a adorable baby. Kudos to you or balancing it all. I know it not an easy task.

Hi Everyone. I am cleaning out a closet and packing and purging. It is amazing what comes out of a closet.
We have grey skies and it is wet out but not raining.
I have the t.v. on the weather channel so I can hear how you ladies are fairing. It sounds like it won't really start for a few hours.

Carolyn I also went thru the xtrain book to see what w/o I wanted to do and ended up cleaning out my closet.

Colleen I don't blame your husband for laughing when you asked him to bring up the treadmill. Those things are heavy. When mine was delivered , my husband and I had a time getting it up the stairs into the house. It is about 10 yrs old and we are just going to take it apart and take it to the dump.

Betty I thought your oldest son went away for college. He seems to have been home for awhile so I assume he justs go to college locally. Keep us up on how much snow and wind you are getting. Don't w/o too hard so you can have some energy to shovel. :(

Missy You look terrific. :D I compared some of your pictures and you look alot smaller. Your hard work is definitely paying off. Could you send me some of your enthusiasm please?

Jean

Up early at 4am. Disc 15 Back and Biceps this morning for me. OMG my poor forearms. Those gave out before my bi's and back. I also did Hiit 30/30. I feel like such an oinker. Tony and I ordered pizza last night. I felt so sick afterwards. I didn't even have that much but I think my body just rejects food like that. I still don't feel as clear as I usually do, even now at 1:30. Ugh! And I've been starving all day. I'm pretty sure I stretched my stomach last night and now I just can't seem to fill it. Ok enough complaining from me.

Onto Ultimate Yogi.....

Should I get it??? I keep telling myself that I'm going to do yoga once a week. I feel like my body really needs it. I really do like yoga. I used to do it once a week when I was a member at Lifetime Fitness. The only yoga DVD's I have are Cathe's two and I think I'm just bored of those. Not enough challenge either. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should spend the money or not. Help! Or maybe I'm just looking for someone to enable me haha!

Thanks for all the compliments on B. He sure is a cutie isn't he?! ;) LOVE my boy! Miss him so bad right now. I'm at work until 3:30. Once again, charting done. Assessments compelte. Meds passed. Patients are in group. Waiting for the clock. Thanks for all the compliments on my workouts too. You gals really know how to make a girl feel good :)

What's with all the schools being canceled and half days and all?! That NEVER happens in MN and we get a ton of snow. Throughout my many years in school I'm pretty sure school was canceled maybe once or twice.

Betty- I am loving my shoes, thanks for asking :) I think Ryka's may be my new brand of choice. That gnocchi you had sounds so good. I'm Italian and my family makes a big batch every Christmas. Lots of work and time but it's a fun tradition we have.

Carolyn- Way to get yoga in. Sounds very relaxing with the kids arguing in the background haha!

Jean- Way to clean out those closets. Feels so good to get rid of stuff. So I'm one of the weird people, like one of the only I think, that actually likes Meso 1 more than Meso 2. I find Meso 2 soooo boring. The breaks are so long! I like to keep moving.

Missy- You look AMAZING my friend. Hot lil lady :) Those peach tress....YUM! Love me some good peaches. Lucky you for having them right there. I'll have to check out Case 39. I love a good horror movie!

Mary- Enjoy working from home. I hope you put your pj's back on after Supercuts....I know I would have ;)

Colleen- Must have felt so nice to sleep in. Hoping you got Ultimate Yogi today. Thanks for the info on DD. I'm pretty sure I'm ordering it.

I'm here....been working front desk today!

Thanks for all the compliments! I work hard at my exercises!!!

As for morning workouts....well I cant function without them. Even on weekends...i get right up and hit it!!! I get up, go pee, stop by kitchen for a bottle of water, and get straight to work! But when I am finished....I am wide awake and ready to tackle my day! It takes a good 2 weeks of getting into morning workouts....but once you do....you will love them!

Gotta run....patients everywhere....bbl!

The snow is coming down! In no time it was white all over with windy snow. The worst hasn't even hit us yet! The governor has issued a stay-at-home ban starting at 4 pm. Everything is probably closed. What a cozy feeling though! I bought a chicken pie to put in the oven later. If I weren't to eat it all, we should bake cookies or something...

Marie, I'm enjoying my gnocchi dish leftovers from last night! So scrumptious! How awesome you are Italian! Have you been to Italy? I absolutely love the Italian culture! Everything about it. I took 3 yrs of middle school Italian (just a coincidence, based on where I went to school), but wish I could speak Italian fluently. Have you made ricciarelli (almond cookies) before?? Do you speak Italian?
I can't enable you on UY but I KNOW I will eventually buy it. I love the idea of how it cleanses, tones, stretches one's body! After 8 years of pretty much all Cathe, and at my age, I'm so ready for it!
OMG, I totally understand you on the pizza! I experienced it myself last Friday! My stomach literally hurt after! I felt greasy and guilty that I ingested that!
Which Rykas did you get? Is it good for high-impact cross-training?
Our schools here are allotted 5 snow days a year. We are on the 3rd, the first two not even snow-related! I can't believe you guys don't have that! It snows so much more where you are! It's entrenched in us!

Carolyn, what a drag to hear your kids arguing while you're trying to get zen! Cute they were playing fort though!:D It will stop soon enough! I tell you I don't enjoy when my kids are home from school! You know how when they were little you would have given anything for another hour of sleep? Well, now, they won't get out of bed! It's the extreme opposite! I get so livid to see them lounging on their beds around noon, having wasted the whole morning!!

Jean, good catch! You are so on the ball! DS1 has been home for the semester because he's going to study abroad (Cathe's mother country) on Sunday! Lordy, I hope his flight to JFK is not delayed. The rest of his school started weeks ago. Normally he dorms at school (which is nearby).

Missy, I am so envious you can see flowering peach trees while we are deep at the start of a blizzard!
You look fantastic, as always!
I echo Jean--send me a fraction of your Energizer Bunny energy!

Colleen, you must be able to squeeze that treadmill in your workout room somewhere! Don't let it gather any more cobwebs in the basement. You're so lucky to have that room. I can picture your ballet bar! How awesome. My spin bike will be in the LR! Which is where I work out and all my Cathe stuff is on display.
VERY unlikely I'll get my spin bike. I saw the UPS guy drive right by this morning! Too bad. DS1 wanted a spin on it before he leaves. I wouldn't mind using it while we watch Big L this weekend. Oh well.

Better go clean the house....

Oh, I did AOLIH. No add-ons except Extended Stretch. I didn't appreciate ES enough while doing STS.

Just got back from taking DD to get her eyes rechecked. She's been having a hard time still seeing even with the glasses. She has to get her prescription upped I was really unhappy with the doctors bed side behavior with kids. I think I will be finding a new eye doctor for her

Another Italian here. My mom is 100% Italian. Once a year I usually make homemade raviolis. My DH is also Italian and his dad is 100% as well. I've never been to Italy would love to go some day. I don't speak it either. My grandparents did though.

I really don't think there is room for it, but the bigger issue is getting DH to bring it up. We had it delivered 7 years ago. DH does uses it days a week. He will run 2-3 miles when he work outs.

I've been munching all day thanks to my TOTM. Nothing horrible but food none the less.

We are just getting rain right now. It suppose to turn over To snow later this evening.
