STS first time!

Marie, he is gorgeous! Such a lovely family you have there.

Checking in with CrossFire today. Still having a lot of fun with this one!

It is such a gorgeous day! Windy, mid-60s, sunny! I'm so ecstatic that we've had a mild weather break.

Marie, thanks for giving us a peek of your precious baby! How darling you all look. Sniff Breckin extra for me!
I'm glad to hear nursing is going well. I was so oblivious to the entire process, pregnancy and all. I don't think I read any pregnancy books with my first!
I had a c-section after failure to progress with my first, and believe me, I was not as alert and clear-minded as you seem to be. I felt like I had been run over by a truck. The pain was quite acute and my mind and brain were in a fog for a long time. I wish I had been as self-aware as you were during this whole pregnancy!
Don't worry about exercise until you're cleared. You get plenty of it with all your baby duties, and nursing will keep you slim.

Becky, nice going with CF! It is a fun and different workout, isn't it?

Carolyn, your undertaking would be overwhelming to me. This is a workout! It'll feel so good after you've purged it all though. I would love to poke through your yard sale. Other people's trash, and all that!:D
Nowadays, I tend to do things in small chunks so that I can get to the computer as fast as possible! Credit you gals for posting correspondence!

Jean, I picture your arms to be like Cathe's! I'm sure you look at them so often you don't see all that sculpted definition!:)

Colleen, how great you were able to get an MRI so quickly. I love how responsive your medical practice is. Looking forward to hearing your results.
Nice going with all those spin miles today!

Missy, how wonderful to meet a new like-minded friend!!!

Filming of XTrain is done! Wow. Have not surfed all weekend, so must go read up on it.

I pulled out HSC today, and it was an awesome workout. I love that it's a total body workout that includes cardio. I barely remember some of the segments from when I borrowed it! There were a lot of pushups! (Colleen, you just did this one last week, right? It is fun. It's my first pure high step workout.)
Will have to pull out Supersets and Push Pull more often now!

Hi ladies!

Sorry I have been gone so long but have been super busy. And what do I see when I come for a quick check-in but pictures of a beautiful baby! Oh Marie, he is so precious, congratulations! Those pictures make me want to scoop him up. I remember those warm baby smells. Enjoy this time, don't worry about working out, your body needs some rest too. Glad the breastfeeding is going well too.

So, I got a new job! It happened really fast, I was kind of stressing out (like I do about everything), and decided to go for it. No future for me where I am now. But it is a big change, and I don't do well with that. I am still working at my current place, trying to finish up, lots to do.

I've been sticking with STS as much as I can, and doing cardio in between, even if its only a half an hour. Last week 2 days passed where I couldn't get a workout in, and I was not myself at all. Those STS workouts are really long too, so sometimes I shave off a few exercises so I'm done in under an hour. It still has to be doing me some good.

I don't think I can catch up on all the posts, but I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to get back soon.

Mary

Hi Mary! It's so great to hear from you. And what wonderful news! Good luck with your new job! Just take it one day at a time, including at your old job. Glad to know you're keeping up with STS. You looking forward to XTrain?

Carolyn, I have HSChallenge. It would have been nice when I bought my step all those years ago if it came with a dvd, but nope.
The long-range forecast shows no precipitation for Sunday.
I don't know the zhu zhu toys at all!

I watched a little of the CrossFit games on ESPN online, Day 3. Jean, is that where you said to look? It looks hellish! I don't know why anyone would subject him/herself to that torture. It seems like the people could easily injure themselves!
I also watched a little clip of a high school girl doing CF training, and I saw her pullups--they're sort of a scrambling pullup.
Their forms are so terrible, it's a miracle they don't break or strain something!

Oh, and I got in 2 walks today!

Good evening!

Tonight we want to a rainforest show at my daughters school. It was really cute. Got to see some cool animals.

Carolyn, that's great on all the cleaning up you did today. My kids are the same way when we go through old stuff. I like to do it went they aren't around but they always seem to find something that peeks their interest again.

I have height step challenge. It's the only high step workout that I have. I loved it. I do want to get hight step training too.

Jean, Betty, I do love my spin bike. It's great for when I get in these moods and don't feel like lugging out equipment or don't want to worry about foot work. I am terrible at step unless its really basic like athletic training or the bonus step from CSS. It's just nice to have options and it doesn't take up that much room.

Mary, Congrats in the new job.

I have no idea what workout to do tomorrow. I was going to do a HC but I'm still pretty sore from supersets. I have done Pushpull a few times before and yesterday was my first time doing SS. I liked it better than PP.

Off to ice my knee and relax some. Have a good night.

Hi to everyone!!

I have thursday and friday off this week. Looking forward to a 4 day weekend!!!

Mary---congrats on the new job! I think it is wonderful you can modify the workouts. I do it all the time. Sometime I even do half of one workout and half of another to create my own crazy workout!

Today my calf muscles were so sore.... YEAH!!!

Tonight, I just did an hour on the elliptical. Tomorrow I am planning on doing TBT---entirely!!! Gotta pump up my muscles!!! hehehe

Off to bed.....Good night!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!!!

It finally happened!!!! Look at my ticker!!!!

Got up this morning and ran 3 miles on my treadmill! Felt great!!! Now off to work!

Tonight: TBT

:):p:D:eek::cool::rolleyes:

Checking in with a much needed rest day. My body needed a rest day today...

I really want to checkout those crossfit games. They sound crazy. I like toned and fit look, but I don't like it when it goes to far...

I'm going in for a mammogram today (my mom is a breast cancer survivor), so I'm going in for an early baseline screening.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning again! I am at work but wanted to check in!

First of all...Mary, it is nice to have you back. Congrats on the new job!

Carolyn---Kill HST...I am so glad you pushed me to buy that one. I just love it!!! BTW---good luck with the rest of the cleaning. I too am a clean monster. I just love a clean house! And for the "fur" I completely understand. I cleaned under my bed 4 or 6 months ago...and OMG! The cats hide under there and .......well I had fur too!!!

Colleen---Rest is key...I don't rest much either, but when I need to I always listen to my body. I will start to feel exhausted and then I know I need a rest day. Good luck with the mammogram!

Okay...lots of work to do so I can be off thursday and friday....gotta get a move on!

Have a nice Tuesday!!!

Break time....well not really, but I am making it one! I have been busy for hours!

I have to run errands for the office after lunch today....yes, that means I have to go to hell-mart! I only go to that aweful store once a month. (for the office) It normally is a disater!!! But, the things you do for work!

Wish me luck.......

Hey gals,
Enjoying a mild, partly sunny day today. Did a bit of clearing foliage outdoors earlier, and also took a 45 min walk.

Colleen, it's so heart-warming to hear of your mom's experience. Continued good health to her!
Ugh, mammograms! What can I say that we all haven't thought at one time or another!
Enjoy your rest day! You have indeed been going for a while, between spin, HC, and other Cathe stuff!

Carolyn, I second that about being very lax about doing the BSE every month! Terrible.
I love that you went meatless with the lasagna! I'm sure it'll taste great. DS hates mushrooms, but the rest of us love them.
I went meatless last night on a rice & lentil soup, and tonight I'm making a meatless chili. Wish me luck.
For the upcoming Saturday, I'm actually planning on making a lasagna, but will assemble it in the form of manicotti. Hmm, hadn't considered meat in it, but I do have some.
Super that you went for a nice long walk! Such a gorgeous day for it.
You all done with the yard sale sorting?
Oh no, another thing to look for at TJMaxx!

Jean, wasn't that movie utterly charming? I loved Emily Blunt's character in it. I'll let you know when I come across other great movies.

Missy, high five on your continued weight loss!:D You are a star!
As for dust, I don't know how the dust piles up so fast! It's maddening! I hate to clean! In any way, shape, or form!
I had to laugh at your clever wal-mart pun (or whatever it's called)!

I'm having slight DOMS today, all over, from HSCh.

I'm finally home!!! Thank god! Today was crazy!!!

Jean---I am glad you like Walmart.

But, I think you go to hell when you go to walmart!!! (down here) Not sure how it is up there!!! We all call it Hell-Mart!!! It is aweful! If I can't get it at Publix....it don't come home!!!! hehehe:eek:

Tonight, I am making a frozen pizza! Yum, Yum!!! Musch healhier than going out for pizza!!! Then off to get my workout on!

Be back!

The mammogram wasn't too bad. Well with it in the end. My mom had discovered it herself. It was a trying time but we were so lucky. I go in spurts with the self exams. I'm trying to remember to every month.

The lasagna sounds so good. I made one last year with pumpkin and zucchini. It was out of this world. If I can find the recipe I will post it.

Tonight we are having salmon, broccoli and sweet potatoes. Funny my son ( who is 4) actually requested a salad with dinner.

Dinners ready. BBL.

Good Morning ladies.....Oh...it is so beautiful out this morning!!! Today is my friday...looking forwrd to a 4 day weekend! With a 5k on saturday!!! Yeah!!!!!

Tomorrow night I am meeting a friend @ 6:30 to go run 3 to 5 miles! Looking forward to that!

Also, I need to get a pedi.....haven't had one is sometime...toes need a paint job! hahaha :)

My husband is the sweetest in the world. Just the best.....he is going to take me later this week and buy me an iphone5!!!! Yeah! He says it will be part of my christmas, but he wants to get it for me....for my success over this year!!! Last christmas...it was pounds for presents.....this year it is mistletoe for maintance!! hehehe  My husband is crazy!!! Crazy about me!!! :D

I hope everyone has a nice day! Off to work!

Good Morning,

I am checking in with HC volume 1 this morning. It was super hard this morning. I did modify a bit. Some days seem harder than others and today was one of those days. I’m wondering if I need a few days to rest up??

Carolyn, I am so excited about xTrain as well. Ride looks so amazing, they all do. I just can’t wait. I’m really happy that she is having a lot of low impact choices as well. My knee is ok. It’s still sore and I’ve gone to flats at work, which seems to help lot as well. I go tomorrow for my MRI results. I’m so glad the MRI was a hit. How was your wrist during HC yesterday, any issues?

Betty, high five on the DOMS from HSCh. Supersets really got me. I had DOMS for about 3 days.

Missy, that’s awesome on the iPhone 5! Enjoy. Your hubby is so sweet. If yours is anything like mine, he is totally supportive of my workouts and loves to keep me motivated (I think he likes the results. :p)

Jean/Betty, I’ll have to checkout Yemen. Sounds like a great movie. I started reading a new book yesterday. It’s from Barbara Freethy called Just a wish away. I’m a totally sap when it comes to books. I prefer light books because I’m usually so beat at night, but just like a little something to take my mind of all the craziness. Her books are very light reads, with a love story, sometimes funny, sometimes sad.

I go to another GI doctor today. I really don’t want to go as I think it’s going to be another waste of time, but hubby is really pushing me. I’m down 5 pounds (I think it’s due to my dietary restrictions) and my husband is freaking out. I know he wants a reason why, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get one. So we’ll see what this one says. After Monday (I have an eye appointment), I hope to be done with doctors for a while.

Have a great day.

Hello everyone!

I pulled out LICh again in the spirit of trying to keep it fresh in my mind. I don't think it was a good idea to do it after one week. My brain thinks I remember most of it, but I actually don't, so it was a messier workout than last week's. Next time I'll have to wait longer, enough for it to be cleared from my head. Regardless, I was drenched. She had some pushups in there, so I feel like I'm practically doing pushups in every one of my workouts.

Missy, your hubby is one in a million. Enjoy your iPhone 5 when you get it. I love Apple devices! They are so creative and inventive! Not to mention good-looking! The ability to iMsg and FaceTime is the ultimate best! But I really resent how the company has us all wrapped around its finger, and like suckers, we throw our money at their very high-priced products. Nonetheless, the latest iPad and mini iPad look awesome!

Colleen, good luck in your appt to try to pinpoint your GI issues. It's frustrating when you can't locate the source easily. Often I wish we can wave that electronic device like in Star Trek and have it tell you what's wrong. Alas, medical knowledge has so far to go!
It seems like more and more people are becoming gluten and lactose intolerant. What are we doing now that we weren't doing a few decades ago??
I've never heard of Barbara Freethy; will keep her in mind.

Incidentally, this morning I realized that yesterday was an entirely vegan day for me! I didn't plan it that way! I'm so proud!:D
It wasn't sugar-free though. Now that I think about it, I ate a snack size Twix (darn Halloween candy!). And had a cafe mocha.

The sun is supposed to be coming out today, but it is more cloudy than anything. I'm chilled.

Hello....

Colleen---Good luck at the Dr's. I really hope they can figure out your problem. GI troubles are the worst. Way to go on the HC workouts.

Carolyn---Get a wiggle on....

Betty---Vegan....you go girl! I had plenty of meat yesterday...turkey and pepporoni's! Yum, Yum! hehehe :)

Thanks for saying such sweet things about my hubby! I am very blessed to have found him. We have been together since my 17th b-day!!! He was the best gift I ever received. He always supports my fitness lifestyle 150%. Never has he said no! He pushed me outside my comfort zone...to find a friend with similar interest (exercise), and now that I have I am very happy about it. Now I have 3 fitness friends (locally), that I go running with from time to time! He seems to always know what is best!!!

You girls are my true friends too! I would not be where I am today with ya! Thanks!:p

Back to work....Busy Busy!!!!

Missy, Congrats on hitting your goal! Great job!

Becky, nice going with CF! It is a fun and different workout, isn't it?

Thanks, Betty! It is a great one -- makes me really look forward to XTRAIN.

Checking in with 30/30 HIIT. My, this one looked much easier on preview than it was. I really struggled in the 2nd half. My last couple of rounds were pretty weak . Something to work towards, I guess!
