STS CHECK IN DISC 30

Hi Everyone! Wow, we are now officially in the "thirty something" category. Meso three is flying by. Please let us know how your workout went. I'll report back later with mine too :)
 
Again I did this one early this morning. I worked HARD finishing those reps with the targeted weight. I once again could not lift the target weight for the barbell bicep curls. Have no clue what I did with these for the 1RM. The concentration curls were right on. I am using heavier weights then I would ever think possible or even attempt to try. The CB KBs are a killer for me but I did it. Love those 7 reps. Keep telling myself I CAN DO 7 reps--only. Thanks again Cathe for pushing me. Hope you post some ideas for what to do after we all finish STS--and I hope it is a different way to use this series.
 
Great workout :D! But I say that after all of them, don't I :p :eek:?

The biceps always seem so hard but thankfully not as hard as the curls with the band were :eek:! The triceps are getting more challenging because I don't have the right weight increments, despite the various and assundry ankle/wrist weights I have, to mix and match to get the perfect amount. I am amazed at what I've been able to do with the shoulders as they have always been my weakest area.

Gosh - it is SO hard to believe there's only 2 weeks left!

My concentration curl weights were off......I couldn't do the reps on my weaker side without aiding it up there ! Everything else seemed right on the money !

Cathe , are you going to suggest other ways to use STS when we finish the rotation ??
I can see taking a break, but I'd really like to do it again soon, and maybe change it up some . This is really good stuff ! I'm loving it !

Disc 30 got done yesterday. It was fabu. Me strong.

I taught a total body resistance class this morning, and my biceps & shoulders fatigued very quickly....hm, wonder why??

I'm going to do the cardio rotation suggestion later this afternoon: 4DS HIS cardio, and AC stability ball abs.

Superwoman rides again! I am feeling so strong this week! What a great workout. All target weight met. All reps met! Yeah for me! :D Well I've worked up quite the appetite, so it's chow time. Hope everyone had a great workout as well.
 
I did this workout early this morning and most of my weights were right on except for the tricep extensions and cross body kickbacks. I knew that my form was awful so I backed off quite a bit. I'm going to be out of town all next week and won't be able to work out so I think when I get back I'm going to start Meso 3 all over again and retest myself on the tricep exercises. I really hate to miss a week but we're going to see my MIL for Mother's Day plus she's turning 85 tomorrow so I'm sure that Cathe would agree that she takes priority!

I'll miss checking in with everyone when I get started again. Have a good weekend.

I finished this one earlier today. I am stronger in my shoulders than I thought; therefore, I had to increase my weight. But, everything else was right on target.
 
I kind of struggled with last week's Bi, Tri and Shoulder workout, but this week it seemed (dare I say?) easy. Maybe because it was only 7 reps or maybe because I got more sleep last night, but whatever the reason it was very good.

Today I did Disc#30 Whoo Hooo!!!:eek:

STS-Meso 3, Week 2, Disc# 30- Shoulders, Bi's and Tri's= 61 min
Calories burned= 473

I really liked the pace of this one and the way the exercises were grouped. I have a threaded barbell w/star threaded thingy's so its impossible to do quick weight changes on the 1 inch threaded barbell. I did try seeing if I could use 1inch standard spring clamp thingy's like cathe and gang use, but it just doesn't fit. So, in this workout it helped that there weren't a bazillion weight changes on the barbell today so things seemed to move a long much quicker. I did feel that I could have gone a bit heavier in shoulder front presses and barbell curls. I'm excited about that part! I did go a bit heavier after the first set of each of those. I used my Cathe weighted gloves and 2.5lbs ankle/wrist weights on each wrist, which I didn't mind those changes are pretty quick. I did find I could have gone for longer than 7 reps which means I need to go heavier, right? Let me know. I found this workout to be alot of fun and moved a long much faster for me. Thanks Cathe, for another awesome workout! You rock!

I loved the workout. My triceps were still sore from the previous week (but getting much better, Thursday was still rough). It did affect what I could lift on those exercises... I had to drop down the weight 1-2# because I started off failing in 2 or 3 reps! LOL I got through it and am waiting for the DOMS to start all over again... They didn't hit for 2-3 days last week!
 
Got it done! Nice burn--able to lift all of the estimated weights---actually went up on a couple of exercises. Concentration curls are still hard--spotted at rep 5-7; on the last round, failed at rep 5. Muscles are feeling more toned! Looking forward to more results!

Hi All! This was a great workout for me as well. Meso three has me trembling with each and every workout. My biceps always seem to feel it the most. However, triceps and shoulders are very close seconds ;)

It is amazing what you can do when you do it together. Seriously, just knowing we are checking in and accountable to our workouts makes me focus so much more during my workouts. How about you?

Yes, checking in has been a tremendous motivation for me! I think if I hadn't committed to doing STS as scheduled with you all, I would have taken a rest week every other week! ;) Not that I don't love STS, just the job keeps me so-o-o busy. It's hard either getting up super early or working out late at night.

Thanks so much Cathe for doing STS with us all. And thanks to everyone else--it's so motivating & enjoyable to read your experiences with STS thus far!
 
Feel very strong, I like heavy weight work. I actually always wondered why I had such a hard time getting weights up with rear delt lifts until I heard Cathe mention this form pointer - about aiming them more to the back. I always had them go up straight to the sides. What a difference that made. It makes sense too, it is back work afterall.
Anyway I have to say this: Last week I really was iffy on some of the weights, and didn't think I'd be able to do this wks weight, and I did no problem. Just able to eak out 7 reps and I am so impressed w/ myself. Well see how I do next wk with 90%...wow.
