Slow and Heavy opinions wanted, good or bad

I hope you're all proud of yourselves, you mean bunch of enablers. I'm about to buy S&H and because I'm not sure if I also need it, I'm hoping to make a trade for the Pure Strength Series, too. MY PS want just came out of nowhere, really. I saw good reviews and thought I'd give it a try.

Thanks (I think) for all the comments about S&H.

S&H rotation starting this weekend!

I confess to being an enabler - I wrote earlier that S&H is one of my absolute forever favorites. So after reading all these posts I am switching up rotation plans on Saturday and starting an S&H rotation!!! And it's probably a great way to prepare for STS!

I love S&H and find it is the best for building muscle if used for maybe 2 weeks, then with a 2 or 3 week break in between.

I don't find it boring either....just great classic weight training!

I find that if I do Gym Styles straight after S&H, my weights go down in the GS workouts.

So after an S&H cycle, I do a week of only kickboxing and cardio workouts to recover.

Hi again. What does the disc itself look like? (not the case, but the disc art work) It doesn't look like any of the other ones I have, but it's an older series so I don't know.
Mine is gray.
"Slow &" is in purple
"HEAVY" is in black

It's 7gig so I'm pretty sure it's not a fake, but again, it looks different from my others.

Mine is black, purple and has a picture of Cathe on it.

(I just bought Muscle Max and Low Impact Circuit. I should not come into this forum unless I'm ready to spend money. )

Mine is black across the top, purple down the right side, and the left side has a picture of Cathe grimacing while doing what looks like a plie squat with a 40 pound dumbbell. (Same picture as the DVD case cover.)

I just wanted to add my .02 cents about S&H. I used to dread the concentration required by this workout. So I once tried it as a 'one body part per day' rotation. I loved it! I concentrated enough on one muscle and added a short cardio to it. I believe the workouts came at just under 1 hour when I did it that way. Just an option.

I really like S&H for its intended purpose (even if I don't use it that way all the time) and will not part with it.

I really enjoy S & H. I find that the slowed down movements really allow you to focus on proper form, which is so important. I have to say that this is one of my favorites, especially the shoulder workout.
I would say....it is a must have.

Ahhh, the shoulder workout. I love that one - but just saw the orthopedic surgeon after dealing with this shoulder issue for a couple of months (and working through it for most of that time - took the last couple of weeks off of upper body:(). I have rotator cuff tendonitis. Got a cortisone shot and have 6 weeks of physical therapy to look forward to. The good news is he said I can start working upper body again as soon as it feels comfortable to do so - but no chest flyes, no shoulder work, no dips and not overhead extensions... so I will have to modify my Cathe workouts once I get back to it... But it WILL be fine if I am good about pt and careful about working out. :D

Kinda repeating what others have said: I like S&H, don't pull it out often because...well...you really shouldn't. It's a great plateau-breaking workout that pushes you to that next strength level. So, get it for the effectiveness...not because it's "exciting". If you use this one the way it's intended, and don't expect it to be mind-blowingly exciting, you'll like it...you might even love it.

You've made me realize it's been a while since I did S&H. I'm suddenly hankering to pull that set of videos out! :p

If you already have the GS split S&H augments it nicely. Though it takes a lot longer to do the workouts the form pointers are excellent. I wish I'd had the S&H as long as I had GS. I really needed those pointers, especially in regards to working the shoulders.

I use this one very, very rarely. The only reason is that I have so many other dvds I like, I just don't get around to using S&H. I guess I'd say I prefer the Gym Styles although their purpose is different. If I were diligent about doing rotations I would throw S&H in once a month as a plateau buster but I usually do what I feel like doing that day.
