Should I buy Timesaver?

I'm looking for something quick because there are days that I just don't seem to have even an hour to work out. Pathetic, I know. I like that TS has complete cardio & strength in each workout. I have Kick Punch Crunch/Legs & Glutes from the Body Blast series and love it, but that's the only one of the BB series that I have. I considered getting Cross Train Express but it just doesn't seem as "put together" as Cathe's newer DVD's. I also have 4 Day Split, and that format makes want to get Timesaver.

Thoughts?

Hi, Wastewitch,

I personally like the Timesaver workouts. I think the Body Blast series is one of the most enjoyable sets of workouts Cathe has produced. When you do the Timesaver workouts, you get 5 workouts that are all about 40-45 minutes long. Each of the first 4 have both cardio and upper body work. The fifth one is all leg work, using footage from Step Jump and Pump, and Legs and Glutes.

You might also enjoy just getting the other 2 DVDs in the Body Blast series. Step Blast/Step Jump and Pump are my favorite step workouts. Although Push Pull/Supersets are not as difficult as many other weight workouts Cathe has produced, they are short enough that I can do them, or do a pre-mix from them, on days when I have a shorter amount of time to work out. All of the Body Blast workouts have multiple pre-mixes which are either shorter or longer than the original workout.

I personally don't care much for the Cross Train Express series. They are harder than the Body Blast workouts, but for me have these disadvantages:

-All are around 1 hour: on work days, I just can't get up early enough to spare 1 1/4 hours with the set up, workout, and putting everything away. I also truthfully rarely do a workout without stopping to get water or answer my family's questions or needing more time to set up my weights than Cathe takes. So I appreciate the shorter workouts like Timesaver, or being able to use a shorter pre-mix.

-The Cross Train Express cardio workouts take up more floor space than I have. I have to modify due to that. I need to do very little modification due to space with the Body Blast workouts. The floor space in my living room where I workout is about 8 feet front to back, and 12 feet wide.

-It is more difficult with CTX to get around to different parts of the workouts. The Body Blast series is very well chaptered, making it very easy to move back to the beginning of an exercise if I am interrupted.

-I don't care for the music in the CTX series. Whereas I like the Body Blast music the best of any of Cathe's productions: Enjoyable, recognizable music put to a beat that works very well for the exercises being done.

If you have not already looked at previews of these workouts, spend a little time doing that to get an idea of the "feel" of the CTX series. You may be one of those people who really likes the music in that series (As you have guessed, the music is important to me.)

Hope this is not too long an answer...

Lea

ITA with what she said, especially about possibly getting Step Blast/SJP and PP/SS! I love the Body Blast series! :)

Yes, I think you should get time saver, very similar to 4DS in format..
I got mine at ebay for 9 dlls! and if you check, that dvd is "always" there

I say get it. It is a great DVD for times when you can't devote a full hour to working out. It gives a little bit of everything cardio-wise and covers all body parts. I love the BB series in general so I think it makes a great addition. Plus, there is some weight stuff that is not found on other BB DVDs.

Timesaver is a compliation DVD - it's just pieces of Step Jump & Pump/ Step Blast and KPC/Legs and Glutes. If you have these DVDs they have premixes - or you could just do pieces of these rather than buying another DVD. and if you don't have these DVDs, I would buy them before I bought Timesaver for sure. Plus, cathe's DVDs usually have shorter premixes

I was also looking at this one and wasn't sure about it, let me know if you do get it how it works for you. It sounds like a great one to have, since I have to workout after work at night which can leave me short on time.

I bought it!

Well I did the deed and bought Timesaver and it arrived Thursday. I didn't realize it had Workout Blender on it - bonus! I really wanted something that offered warm-up, cardio, weights, and stretch in under an hour. Looks like this will do it. I was able to fit in a workout before dinner Friday, and I plan to use it for early morning workouts next week. I may have to get Imax2/C&W - heard a lot of good things about the premixes. My C&W came with Basic Step, bundled with the step I bought from Collage Video, so it doesn't have the premixes. :(

Thanks for the advice everyone.

THANKS DeanaMax!

Thanks for that premix breakdown! I was just sitting here trying to put together a rotation of short workouts for the next few weeks, this will save me LOTs of time!
