Sexy moms and happy babies 4/11-4/16

Thanks, Christine! I plan on going to the Schieels (sp?) when I"m in St Cloud. Hopefully they have some bowflex dumbbells for me to look at. I also want to look for a nice running outfit for my summer races. I plan on doing a couple of 5Ks & maybe 10Ks if I can find them. I don't really have running shorts that I feel comfortable in.

Jen, is your friend ready for some matching NB clothes? My girls are all out of them. If she is you can have her contact me directly : [email protected] or we can make arrangements. I'd love to sell to another twin mommy (rather than split up). I'll be ready within a month or so.

What's everyone up to today?

OH.MY. GOODNESS! I miss you gals so much when I am away but there is SO MUCH TO READ through! :p

This may take me all day but here it goes:

Update on my life. Yesterday was a whirlwhind with good news! (then I will do personals): Friend's baby (Aaron Isaiah) came off of the respirator but then she had to put him back on for some reason. Good news is he CAN breathe on his own. She was released from hospital and her DH leaves for Afghanistan next Monday. BOO! But she has family flying in.

I don't know if any of you heard about the 11 year old little girl Nadia that was missing for five days??? She lives in my hometown about 5 minutes from where I live so this has been a HUGE story that the community is following and helping out on. We have also been helping at my job. Well they found her which is wonderful and she is doing good! YAY!

DH is being transferred to dayshift starting 4/18!!! :D YAHOO! So we will feel like a normal family with him home in the evenings and he will spend his full days off with J which helps with finances (maybe I can buy Bowflex dumbbells.... :p)

Finished Meso 1 last night! WOOHOO! I will be on to Meso 2 after a rest week. I am not supposed to lift weights so guess what I will be doing??? INSANITY!! And hopefully revabs!!!

Ok, I have to answer some emails at work and I will be back for some personals!!

Jen, lots of good news! Bowflex dumbbells for all of us! LOL We're just a bunch of enablers, aren't we? LOL

Little Aaron will have lots of steps forwards, and then backwards in the NICU. There's a saying that they had on the wall of NICU at University where we were at about not getting discouraged about one step forwards and two steps back. It is HUGE that he was able to be off the respirator at all at that young of a gestational age. Other big factors are heart & eye development. Do you know if everything is good in that arena? I will continue prayers.

Yeah to finding that little girl. My heart always stops when I hear of things like that.

I"m almost all packed. :)

Melanie- I thought you were buying Bowflex dumbbells for all of us!! :p I think they are worried about his eyesight and that is why they put him back on oxygen or vice versa??? Not really sure but they did a brain scan and so far, no brain bleeds. They will do another one Friday and then in 4 weeks. His heart had a hole but they said it is very small, even smaller than most babies his gestational age.

I'm so excited for your run! I really wish we all lived close because I would love to cheer you on! I don't have plans Saturday. :D

I'm not sure what the twin mommy needs but I have told her good friend about your offer so she is going to get back with me. (She is the wife of one of the sgt's I work with, I don't actually know her personally) BTW, what were some things that you really needed/loved having that people bought you when they were born? I am organizing gifts at work for her (LOTS of diapers and wipes) with the co-workers. So far we have Tylenol, gas drops, diapers, wipes, etc...things they really need. Not just clothes and stuff.

Glad you are almost packed. Be safe on your trip! And your signature is fine. I love your workout room!

Okay off to finish lunch and do some more personals after!

Since these are my 4th & 5th kids, I really didn't get much as far as gifts go. I got just a few identical twin outfits (less than a dozen). So much of what I needed I purchased for myself before they were born. When are the babies due?

Melanie- Also, thanks for the tip about feedings. I think I will start asking the sitter to give J oatmeal before his second bottle to see how he does and then introduce one new fruit or veggie a week on the weekends where I can watch for a reaction.

Christine- I am still waiting for the probiotics in the mail. We are using up the other one but I am thinking because he is having trouble pooping because it has dairy products in it and the one you use and I ordered is dairy free so I didn't increase the one we use now but I am still using it. I cannot believe that BIL can be so selfish!!! And WTH do you mean "she doesnt like being home with three kids"???!!!!:mad::mad: SHE decided to have them!!! How awful! I am right there with ya! That should be Jimmy's special time! UGH! ANNOYING! I was hoping to be more sore (how sick do I sound??) after Meso 1 Legs last night but I don't really feel anything. GAH! Oh and I made the chicken carbornara (finally!) and LOVE it! DH loved it too! It has such great flavors! I felt like I was cooking something gourmet and it was soo easy! That is definitely a "go to" when I am PMSing!

Priscila- Now I am wondering the same thing? Are you pregnant??? I do hope you feel better soon. I have not been brave enough to try an hour of Insanity but with Christine's encouragement (she says its really only 30 min and lots of stretching) I may do one or two (if I get a wild hair) on my rest week between Meso 1 and 2. I will definitely post if I do.

Allison- Yes, girl, put your big girl panties and JUST DO IT! I hope you will like it as much as the rest of us do! I am so proud of you (and Drew) for his sleeping and you letting him cry it out. I still can't bring myself to do that. I rock my boy EVERY.TIME. DH has started putting him in his crib with the Ocean Wonders thingy on and sometimes he will fall asleep to that. It is much faster for mommy to rock him. Come on, I have workouts to do and so little time! ;)

Susan- I hope the showing went well and the wife liked it! I remember you mentioning that you would be away from DH and it hurts my heart for you guys. But it can be done and I know you are a strong couple and will get through it! Mr. Fistina?? LOL! Silly guy! So should we not expect to hear from you at all on the weekends he visits???:p Bow chicka wow wow!!

Lisa- I hope things are better with Caden. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice but just know that my heart feels for you. I can't imagine how I would feel if and when James does that. But I have heard from other friends that their babies bounce back and forth btwn mommy and daddy like Mel mentioned.

Hi Kendra! How are you? Hope your life is not too hectic and you guys have fun on Spring Break!! Relax (if you can) and enjoy!

Ok HAVE to get some work done!

Geez I missed both you guys because my post was so long!

Melanie- She is due June 18th but will potentially deliver before. She is already at home on modified bedrest.

Susan- Yay for dorky UPS man! I get to see hot dentist in a few weeks! I hope I got my package today! Hope K naps!

Oh and I won't be here tonight. A friend gave us tickets to see the Orlando Magic game so sitter's 14 yr old daughter will watch James (sitter is home too but we will pay 14 yr old) for us for a few hours. So we are having a date night! And no workout or workout previews! But I will be hitting full force on this rest week! Can't wait!

Ok FOR REAL now, I'm out. :D

Jen, have fun at the game! Your twin to be mommy probably won't be interested in my clothes (except for NB) due to season differences & sizes. NB clothes are season-less, but once they start going outside & are able to maintain their body temps....they become seasonal. Anyhew, I won't do anything with them for a month or so. :p

I offered the triple jogging stroller $350. I haven't heard from her, so not sure if that means she's not interested? She wanted $380, so I know it's only $30 difference,...but I'm having the attitude, "if it's meant to be it'll work out".

Just got done w/3 mile run on elliptical. Both girls slept the whole time. Now off to shower.

Melanie- So glad that both girls slept for you. It is so much less stressful to workout when J is sleeping and stays asleep.

Have any of you done/thought about swimming lessons with your little ones or older children? I am looking into starting J in the six month class at the end of May. Its mainly about swim safety but since both MIL and sitter have pools and we LOVE water we want him to be safe.

Ok be good ladies! I'll see you tomorrow!

Jen- Jimmy did mommy and me with me in the pool young. I tried swim lessons at a year and he was terrified. I started again at 2 years and he was swim safe in 8 weeks. Many of my friends endured the screaming that comes with earlier aged lessons. I chose not to bc I hated hearing him cry and it is expensive. My mil got a gate for their pool but never uses it bc they say it ruins the view... Try baby and me lessons at the rec center or YMCA or jcc. I also realized he learned better when I was not in the water and when he could talk. He could tell us his fears.. So glad the baby is ok. Poor mom! And yay they found the girl. Have fun tonight! I am glad dh is going to have a better schedule!
SusN- hooray that it came.
Allison- wear two pairs of big girl panties and jump in. I did
ax interval circuit and burned more than700 cals today! And that was done after a run so you have. To at least try!
Mel- travel safely!
Bbl for more persons got to take a nap with my bedbuggies. And yes we say good night sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite and if they do hit them with your foot bc we do not wear shoes in the house ( Jimmy pointed out that we lied if we say shoes since they stay in garage).

Took the girls (and Jadon) for a walk around the loop (just one mile). I'm trying to get the girls used to their jogging stroller b/c I intend to use it alot this summer. It was so nice, I laid a blanket out and cuddled with the girls (and Jadon) outside for a good 45 minutes until they got crabby & ready for sleep.

Hamburgler was a hit. Something different to do. The kids ate ice cream cones and I cuddled with them. They each got a helium filled balloon...which should keep them content for remainder of evening.

I'm light. My pants are really loose & I'm at 131lbs. I wonder if I'll gain it back after my race? I don't mind being lighter, as long as I'm healthy...and I'm looking to lose 5% of body fat (hopefully when I start pumping iron).

Christine, my UPS guy comes all the way until 830 PM....so they may be here tonight yet. That is slow. UPS is usually quicker than USPS? Hmmm. Oh well, like I said it's going to be a bit before I'll be able to do them. Do you have a fax machine? Maybe you could fax the rotation to me? No hurries.

Edited to add about swimming lessons: I took Jory when he was 2 years all they way through Red Cross Lifeguard. We live on the lake & wanted him to be safe. When Justin was about a year old I enrolled him, but the water was so cold he cried the entire time (and his lips turned blue). I think Jadon might like it more, but I didn't want to get in the cold water with them. When I was pg with the twins I took them (aged 3 & 5) to lessons & it want really well. So what's the perfect age? It depends on the instructor, the class, the child, and whether you are interested in going in the water or not.

This weekend we're staying at a hotel with 5 pools (including a toddler pool). I'm bringing water boats for the girls to go into. We'll see how it goes! The toddler pool is a little cooler than bath water.

Allison- Here's a good reason to try Insanity....DH got some lovin' before basketball game and said "You been doin your kegals??" I said "Some" DH said "Feels different" as well as some other things. ;) All I can think of is all the plyos and plank/ab work is workin somewhere. :p

Off to the game! Oh and I grew up with the bed bugs too!

Mel- I use UPS becuase it is easier, the post ofice is hard to get to with teh kids in tow... My UPS driver just grabs stuff if i have to ship it, he gave me his cell phone to call for pickups! I sent it ground, which was cheapest. Sorry!

Christine! I hope I didn't sound like I was complaining. Ugh. Certainly didn't mean it. You are so sweet doing all this for us. I prefer UPS, but usually use USPS so it can be picked up at my house (same as you). UPS is normally faster. Isn't your UPS dude cute? What are you doing with his personal cell number? Hmmmmm? :p :p

YEAH, what a nice surprise when I came back home to find my UPS package there. THANK YOU CHRISTINE!!!!!!!!!!!! You absolutely rock. It really made my day after working FAR from home and havind say 3 episodes of you know what! I think I'm on the mend but this recovering its taking time.

Jen, I highly doubt that I'm preggo, we are using condoms and unless one of them was broken, there is no waya. I won't lie tho, I did cross my mind because I felt like my first months of pregnancy. Yeah for your DH's changing shift! You'll sure have more time to enjoy together.

Melanie, I work 4 days a week (Tu-F) and 4 hrs on a Saturday every 8 weeks. The problem is that during this month I have to travel almost 40 miles twice a week and with my ongoing stomach flu is kinda uncomfortable. I did get my package, thank you! Sorry I didn't respond before but in that other office I'm busier and don't get to lurk much.

Susan, hopefully that man's wife like the house on Friday! Got to be stressfull to go thru all that!

Allison, I'm keeping my finger crossed for Drew. Is he still sleeping thru the night? Daniel hasn't slept all night never in his short life. Now that he's 4 mo, I'll start giving him a bottle with some cereal I guess to see if that helps.

Lisa, you must have the best sleeper of the group! Ah, I share your same goal, I want to be abale to run 5 miles at a steady pace at least! Do you have any training plan?

Kendra, still getting your workouts in? How are you doing?

Off to watch Biggest Loser, didn't get to watch it last night

hey guys. I wanted to pop in quick tonight. I've caught a cold that's been going around my office, so I can't wait to hit my pillow. Hope the kids sleep well tonight, as I have to be to work shortly after 7.

Allison--you HAVE to try Insanity. You may want to put a pad on if you haven't been kegaling! It's so different than anything else I've tried.

Priscilla-yes, so far, Reese has blessed me with good sleep for the past few weeks. I didn't get sleep like this from Caden for MONTHS! I'm not doing anything to try to reach 5 miles, other than just pushing myself as much as I can to go as far as I can. I try to extend my mileage by putting in more power walking breaks, with the hope of reducing those.

Jen-have a good time at the game! Caden did swimming lessons with DH and I when he was 6 months old. He really enjoyed it, and we did, too :). Some of the kids cried a lot though, so it just depends on the baby.

Christina-I didn't here UPS here, but maybe he stopped when DH was here..will need to investigate that! After your calorie burn with Max Interval, I'm afraid to try that one!

Sorry about the crappy personals..I only have the alertness (i think I made up a word??) to do a quick skim....I think my mind is already asleep

signing off for now...time to get Caden to bed so that I can get there, too. zzzzzzz

Lisa, sorry you got a cold. :( Us Minnesotians will probably get our packages tomorrow. Now I know how you gals felt waiting for yours! I am excited to preview them!

Precila, no worries...just glad you got them. There's a group of us 3 women that are going to start Brazilian Butt Lift for flat bums on Monday. I'll add that to my restful month of running. :D

Christine, you amaze me with all your calories you burn. You are a machine! Do you get any running magazines? I recently started Runner's World & love it. I borrowed Running Womens Magazine and found it didn't have much material in it. There's another Running Times I think...and I enjoy that one too (but the font is small).

I am so looking forward to checking out the sporting goods store in St Cloud. Geez, I feel like I haven't shopped in years! LOL

I work tomorrow ladies, then off to St Cloud......so spotty replies here on out!

Insanity it is!! How can I argue with that many endorsements?! No UPS at my house today; I have something to look forward to :D

I'm debating trying Chalean now, and returning to STS (starting again with Meso 1) when CLX is done. Any thoughts? I've never thought of myself as one to "bulk up," but someone commented that my arms are looking bigger (not more defined). Hello? I lug around a 24 lb baby all day -- my biceps have no choice but to grow! Grrrrrr...

Jen, is Nadia the little girl who was in the alligator-infested swamp? I can't imagine how terrified her family was. You should send your "success story" to Shaun T *wink* For the baby gift, yes, lots of diapers! What about onesies in different sizes (always good for layering)? And the Medela steam bags are awesome -- for breast pump accessories as well as bottle nipples (I don't BF, but use them to steam the nipples). Does she have older kids? If so, I would think a few books and DVDs for them would be nice too. Oh, and bibs -- lots of bibs! Drew is such a drooler, we go through about 5 a day LOL And love all your other good news, especially that DH will be working day shift. Is that a permanent switch?!

Melanie, are you getting excited?!?! Yes, you NEED to get your hot tub fixed!! I hope you get the triple stroller; that would be awesome! Five pools? The kids will love this hotel.

Christine, I would be absolutely FURIOUS with BIL for suddenly bringing his brat to your ILs. I understand completely why you wanted this to be just for Jimmy; he *does* deserve it. But I'm sure your ILs will make it fun for him, even with Nic there. Will DH be staying at their house too?

Priscilla, I hope you are feeling better. I watched BL last night. I'm wondering who will win, but I'm getting a bit tired of the bizarre enmeshment of O'Neal and Sunshine.

Lisa, hope a second early night is what you need to chase away the cold that's knocking on your door. Now that you're back at work, is Reese in daycare, or is she home with someone for a few weeks?

Susan, burned cinnamon right before a showing? Sounds like something I would do!! I was making apples for Drew the other day; forgot about the pot. Those babies were CHARRED to the bottom of the pot. Thank goodness it's stainless steel and not nonstick, otherwise I would have had to toss the pot in the garbage. It STANK!

Learned something about carseats tonight, when I went for a car seat inspection/installation. They are only rated safe for 5 years from manufacture date (said date will be on the label on your seat). Once you hit that mark, you should cut the harness and throw out the seat.

Hey Allison~ I don't have STS (just STS Cardio) so can't comment on STS vs Charlean. I can say that I tend to buff out too...and have to watch myself. In Charlene's motivational CD she states that us women need to look in the mirror at ourselves, and when we find the spot that we like...keep the weights there (don't go up). I"m probably one of those women that have to do lighter weights?

The other thought is the fat factor. If I have a layer of fat over the muscle, it might bulge and look bigger? Just a thought...b/c that's what happens to my abs when I work my abs but eat like crap. I can FEEL the muscles but can't see them.

Genetics too....my fat is predispositioned to be in my middle....I have to eat clean just to look normal. My upper arms tend to get larger too. Ahh. I guess I"m just a mess. Except for my legs....they are lean...and my butt is small and flat. LOL Oh, and let us not forget the working boobies....they are a double D (let's not fast forward to deflating stage yet).

Precila~ that's alot of driving, especially if you are not used to it. I'm glad you don't have to do that alot.

Susan~I just tried to keep my place clean when I lived in it & it was on the market. It totally sucked b/c we were packing too. People made comments all the time like, "the house looks cluttered". Hmmm. Really? Maybe that's why this family of five is moving out of this 1200 square foot house... Do you have links to your house? I'd love to see it, I bet it's really cute.

Christine~ how's DH's IT band today? When is your race again?

Alrighty, I have to get off otherwise I won't get proper amount of sleep for my workday tomorrow.

Nighty night. Don't let bed bugs bite....and if they do, bite them back,...or get them with your barefeet!
