Hello, Game-Facers. :)

We did have a great TX reunion yesterday. Heather's summary was wonderful. I'll tip my hat again to Gin's musical contribution (see the 'ask Cathe' forum for my post there on Heather's thread).

Girls, my legs are actually more sore today than they were yesterday after my Friday legs workout. That's unusual. I had also hurt my wrist--not sure how, but I must've slung a barbell in a funny way. Anyway, I could hardly fasten my seatbelt yesterday in Gin's car. (It was also a great excuse NOT to wash dishes last night.) ;) But my wrist is MUCH better today. I'll be careful to use good form not just in my lifting but also in putting away my weights from now on. I have no idea how I hurt my wrist because I didn't notice when I did it. Strange.

I'm thinking of Heather as I start this thread today. She has been our 'starter' for weeks, and she is on a partial fast from internet as she begins this 40 day effort at breaking her food addiction. Heather, if you're still reading, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jean and Gin, it was so good to see you yesterday.

To the rest of you--you're such an encouragement, and I wish I could see all of you again, too. Please enjoy this year's RT for me vicariously. :-(

Laura

Hi Ladies
I've missed you guys. I've been very active this holiday weekend. Sat night my best friends Bachlorette party. So was out very late that night. Sunday was exhausted but still got my workout in}( Today we have fam coming over for lunch/dinner.
Laura that is so awesome you guys all got together! I wish I lived closer:) Heather is definatly in my prayers. I'm worried about her. But I know she can do it! I know how it is to have an addiction I was bulimic for 10 years on and off. That is part of the reason I still see a therapist and a phyciotrist sp?
We'll this is my weeks workout plan:
Sun: Superset upperbody blast
Mon: Low Max blast only then 4DS LIC and Coremax # 2
Tues: B&G Leg blast premix and L&G floor work
Wed:push ups from GS C&T only then LIC upper body x2 abs
Thur: 4ds Cardio Power
Fri BootCamp from the intensity series
Have a happy Memorial Day
Love Randi

Good Afternoon PYGFOers!

Today I ran and then did B&G floorwork and abs premix. This is the easiest of the B&G premixes!:) I am on my final week of Cathe's Lower Body Solution rotation.

Laura--I had a great time going to visit Heather with you and Jean. So glad we could get together one more time before you go back.
Sorry about your wrist! Is it any better today? Be careful.
Glad you enjoyed my CD of Cathe tunes. It makes me so happy to listen to it in my car. Is that dorky, or what??:+

Randi--Your workout plan this week looks great! You come up with some tough stuff!

Heather--I know you are taking a break from the forums, but you can be sure I am praying for you.

Hi to all other PYGFOers!
Gin:)

Hello.

Today was BMax 2 Cardio Blast and GS Legs. My legs are feeling it now! We didn't do much for Memorial Day. I saw my family yesterday. I did paperwork and worked out, then DH and I went out for veggie burgers:9 We are about to get caught up on Lost so we can watch the season finale on Thursday.

Laura...I am glad you all had fun at your get-together. I hope your wrist is feeling better!!

Randi...Sounds like you have been busy. Your workouts for the week look great.

Gin...Have you noticed a difference in your lower body after following that rotation? I will have to go back and read about your Cathe CD!

Heather...I am thinking about you!! I know you can do it!!

I am getting ready for our summer vacation. We leave in a week for the beach. We are going back to where we got married last year, except we are going earlier than usual since our DD will be born close to the time we usually vacation. I have been looking for bathing suits that will work. I am not really big enough for maternity suits, but I can't really wear the 2-pieces I normally wear. I have ordered a few tankinis online and hope they get here in time to see if they will work before we leave. I guess I won't have to worry about my stomach sticking out in my bathing suit this year after all of the delicious seafood we will eat!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Hi ladies! It was a busy Memorial weekend for me too. I had 2 cookouts to go to and in between I tried to clean house and do some yard work. I could have really used another day off! I have my tickets for my trip out west this year. We always go to WA to visit DH's family and spend some time at their lake cabin up in the mountains. We didn't think we would be able to go this year because of the ticket prices, but we finally found some flights that we wouldn't need to sell kidneys to buy. The good thing is that these flights do not interfere with either of the RT's, so I will still be able to visit everyone in July and then go to my own in August. The bad thing, is that we are leaving July 1st, which only gives me a little over 4 weeks to get in bathing suit shape!!! No more slacking for me! I have got to get the eating and the exercise under control!

Heather - I'm sending hugs and prayers your way.

Laura - Glad your wrist is feeling better! I will miss you at the RT this year! :(

Randi - Sounds like you were a busy gal this weekend! Good job on keeping up with workouts throughout all of that. I wish I had been so disciplined!

Gin - Let me know how you liked that rotation. My lower body needs some form of "solution" in the next 4 weeks! I may have to give that one a try if you think it is a good rotation.

Lara - 2 more episodes and I will be caught up on Lost too. I love recording it and skipping the commercials, I just have to be soooo careful not to read and threads with the word "Lost" in the title! ;) Have fun on your beach trip!!! Hope those tankinis come in ASAP.

Hi.

Today was suppose to be a big workout day, but I was very tired after work. DH and I took our dog on a walk and ate fruit for dinner. Tomorrow is my 12 hour workday, so I probably won't be up for much tomorrow either.

Liann...It looks like you will be doing a lot of traveling this summer. I am glad you were able to coordinate with your RT plans. I know what you mean about plane tickets. I am needing to book flights for my sister's wedding in July and I am afraid to look at the prices. Plus, I guess there will be extra $$ involved with luggage now. This is not good news for me b/c I am NOT a light packer!! Recording shows on the DVR is about the only way I watch TV now. I love to skip commercials also. It makes the shows about 40 minutes instead of an hour. Of course, I use that as an excuse to watch more shows! We are all caught up on Lost and ready for the finale!!

Hello to anyone else!! Have a great Wednesday!!

Good morning ladies! Happy Hump Day! :)

Last night I started 4DS. I can't believe I haven't cracked this one open yet! I was a little lost on the third combo of LIS, but it will not take me long to get it (I hope). I just wish I had more room to step. I have to tip toe around the treadmill and bench press and not hit the pull up bar when jumping up. I definitely have some DOMS in my shoulders from the heavy shoulder work.

Lara - Good luck with the plane tickets. The prices are all over the place depending on where you are flying. We had been looking for months and finally the price for where we were going dropped enough. It is just a bad time to be flying unfortunately. :( I'll be sending you low fare vibes! :)

Hope everyone is doing good!!!

Good Morning PYGFOers!

Today I ran and then did L&G and Ab Hits #6.

Lara--How are you feeling? I have a cute picture of you from the RT with some of Cathe's crew that pops up on my screensaver every now and then!:) I would love to have a dvr or TiVo to record tv shows and then zip through the commercials!

Liann--Heather, Jean, Laura and I thought of you at the zoo when we all very quickly passed through the snake house!! I have NOT seen results from the Lower Body Solution rotation, but I am not a good judge because I NEVER see results!! However,Deanie said she DID see a difference.

Hi to everyone else!
Have a great day!
Gin:)

Hello.

I wasn't able to workout today:( DH had dinner waiting when I finally got home from work tonight, so I just decided to eat. I need some cardio tomorrow!!

Liann...Thanks! LOL at your tiptoeing around!! DH and I are looking at houses and he knows one of my main requirements (other than big walk-in closets) is a big workout area/room. We definitely need room for all of the equipment I have!! Are you going to do another workout from 4DS tomorrow? I love 4DS!!!

Gin...I am feeling great (other than being tired)!! I hope the picture you have is better of me than the ones I have!! I was not very photogenic in the pictures I had from my camera!! I still love looking at them though. I wish I was able to go back and take more pictures this year!! I am like you, I never think I see results. Especially for my lower body! I do remember that you looked great at the RT though!! Yes, I highly recommend a DVR or TiVo!

I hope the rest of you are doing well.

Gin - LOL at you quickly passing through the snake house. ;)

Lara - I did Bootcamp yesterday with the bicep/tricep work. My DH started complaining that I was taking too long though so I didn't do the last segment of bis&tris. I better feel it today or I'm going to be ticked at DH for stopping me! If my workout goes over an hour, he starts nagging - "Are you going to be down there all night???" I really need to get up and workout before work in the morning so I can finish my entire workout, but I am not a morning person unfortunately. :(

I hope you gals are having a wonderful Friday-eve!!! I plan to do 4DS Kickboxing tonight. :) Hopefully, my calves will be recovered enough from Tuesday's workout. I was feeling it yesterday during those Bootcamp drills - ouchie!

Good Morning:)
This morning I did 4DS cardio power plus core only from Bootcamp from the intensity series. I've been sore all week. Probably i'm shocking my body with a new rotation}( Have a great day ladies
Randi

Hi.

Today I did SB and added on the Blasts again at the end. I am hoping to do cardio and weights tomorrow. I am not sure what I will do yet. I have about 6 new workouts that I haven't done yet that I need/want to do. I can't decide if I should tackle them before, during, or after vacation. I ordered a few I thought would be good to travel with.

Liann...Ouch, my calves just hurt thinking about the LIS workout!! I am usually sore for a couple of days! I know, sometimes I can workout in the morning, but I much prefer to do it in the afternoon or evening b/c I have more time to fit in everything I want to do. Since I have been pg, I am not much of a morning workout person! I sometimes add an extra errand or 2 to DH's list just so I will have more time before he gets home to workout (Shhh--don't tell;) ).

Randi...sounds like your rotation is working well.

I am so glad it is Friday!!

Good morning ladies! Happy Friday!!!

Randi - I have been sore all week too. This 4DS series is really kicking my bootie. I couldn't even do the core work at the end of Kickboxing last night because my core is still screaming from Tuesday's workout. I think the leg workout last night really helped my calves though. They do not feel as tight today as they have the last 3 days. I guess I will try to make it through Higher Intensity step tonight. I am not all that coordinated of a video stepper (I do fine in live classes), so this should be fun...

Lara - I've been known to send DH to the grocery store just to buy a few minutes to myself too. ;) Last night he gave me a hard time again about working out for in his words "Almost 2 HOURS!" I just looked at him and said "Look buddy, I'm trying to get my butt in shape for YOU, and this is what I have to do, so get off my back!" He shut up really quick after that. ;)

Any exciting weekend plans? I'm going to a picnic/pool party at my sister's house tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for some decent weather.

Good Morning PYGFOers!

Yesterday I did DM premix #5 (cardio and upper body), today I ran and then did KM (whew on those intensity blasts!:p ) and tomorrow will be yoga and pilates.

Lara--The pic I have of you is beautiful! I should send it to you! What new 6 workouts do you have? I bought the Terminator, ordered Tracey's Strike Zone, and then found Janis Saffell's Strike Zone KB, The Method 20/20 Pilates and TaeBo Boot Camp1 at Ross all recently. ENOUGH!;-) Where and when are you going on vacation? Your sister's wedding is coming up soon, isn't it? LOL about you sending your DH for extra errands so you can work out!

Liann--Enjoy the picnic/pool party at your sister's tomorrow. Is this the sister with the "active" children?? I have been cleaning out closets. I don't work in the summer, being a teacher. I have a friend's birthday lunch to go to Sunday.

Randi-I will be starting a 4ds rotation Sunday...Fun!

Hi to all other PYGFOers!
Gin:)

Gin - No, this is MY sister with the normal well adjusted children! ;) It's the SIL that has the kids from you know where! ;) My entire family will be at my sister's house, so there will be a total of 12 children. I'll take those 12 to my SIL's 2 any day though! :) Have fun with the 4DS rotation!!! :)

Hello, all.

Sorry I've been MIA this week. It's been the wrist. It has been improving, but slowly. I've tried to limit typing and other activities that are hard on the wrist. I actually went out and bought a brace--just to immobilize it and allow it to rest. I think that has helped. It's not very painful, but you don't realize how your wrist is in CONSTANT motion until you injure it. I figured it wouldn't heal until I gave it a rest.

Randi--looks like you had tough workouts lined up this week; how did it go?

Lara--I know the dilemma of preggie bathing suits when you're not beig enough for a full maternity suit! You know, last time I was pregnant, it was all the rage for maternity tops to be cropped and the pants to be low rise. In other words, all the moms were showing off their little tummies. That said, as cute as you are, you could probably just go ahead and wear a 2-piece and everyone would ooh and ahh at your tiny bump. :)

And where do you go "out" for veggie burgers? I need to know about that.

Liann--my DH is into lost. While we've been in the States, he has missed his Lost fan club. There was a group in Africa that got together every week for a "guys night out" to watch Lost.

I've had to adjust my workouts this week because of my wrist. I've done no upper body weight because I was afraid that even using the machines would strain it. So I've done extra cardio. Today I did legs--all machines so that I wouldn't have to hold a barbell. I think I managed to work them pretty hard in spite of the limitation.

Yesterday 24-hour-fitness rolled out a new class: shadow box. It's like Kickbox, but only punches. And you throw in athletic intensity drills (like plyo lunges and "jump rope") between each punch combo. Of course, Cathe's been combining boxing and drills for ages, so it was familiar to me. But it was new to the club. It was a good workout. Gin, I thought about you, since you were with me last week when they were announcing it.

Plus they handed out freebies! We all got a free protein bar, one of the girls got a free workout top, and I got new workout Capris! They are black with a wide white stripe down the side. Woo hoo! :)

OK. There's a whole week's worth of posting in one post. ;-)

Laura

Hello.

Today was 4DS KB/BC cardio and PUB. We are preparing to have a small zoo at our house this weekend. We are keeping my in-laws cat until we leave next week and we are babysitting 2 dotson's that are our friends. We already have one dog and one cat, so we are going to have a full house! I love animals, so I will enjoy having them here. Hopefully, they will all get along!

Liann...WTG!!! I know, it is hard for DHs to understand our workout schedules sometimes. Even though DH likes to run, he doesn't always understand my need to exercise more frequently (and usually longer) than he does. You think he would be used to it after 11 years of being together!! I hope you have fun at your sister's pool party tomorrow! I am also glad that you will have "well-behaved" children there. How was HIS? I love that cardio!!

Gin...Your workouts sounds really tough!! I would LOVE to have a copy of your picture! That is so nice of you to offer! I know what you mean about enough new workouts!! I just received Tracey's Circuit Zone and Core Blast and have Strike Zone on the way. I also got Amy Bento's 10-Minute Soultion DVD (I thought it would be good to travel with). And, Sharon Twombly's Athletic Step Jam, Deirdre Morris's Tap-less Step, Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30-minutes to fitness, and Kickbox: Core cross Train. I also have a prenatal yoga video by Shiva Rae that I haven't done yet. I need to get busy!! You will like the Terminator! I think I may do IMAX Extreme and maybe some of Core Blast tomorrow. We are leaving Tuesday night for Navarre, FL (where we got married last year). We always go every summer. We love it there! Yes, my sister's wedding is in July. It will be here before we know it!!

Laura...I am sorry you are still having trouble with your wrist. It sounds like you are doing the right thing by resting and not lifting for upper body. What a nice thing for you to say about my "little bump"!! I just got both of my suits in the mail. I just don't know if I like them. I guess b/c they are so different from anything else I have worn. I may keep one and send one back. We have a locally owned restaurant (called Bizy's) where we get really good veggie burgers. It seems like I find the best ones at locally owned places. I think the only chain around here that has them is Red Robin. They are pretty good there also. We also have a Buffalo Wild Wings, but I don't think they are very good. Congrats on winning new workout capris!! Sounds like it was a fun class.

Sorry for all of the long responses!! I hope you all have a great Saturday. I will be working out, packing, and getting caught up on paperwork all in the midst of our little zoo :)

I just got back from the gym. Today was cardio and abs. I did intervals on the elliptical: 3 minutes of steady state and then a 1 minute sprint. I did 10 cycles. I used to think that ellipticals were wimpy, but I have changed my opinion! ;-) If you increase the resistance and watch the monitor to maintain your stride per minute, you can WORK!

I did medicine ball for my abs, at the trainer's recommendation. It's all stuff that we do on Cathe. But after 3 months on ab machines, she wanted me to change up. It is AMAZING how tough something can be when you've not done it in a while, even if your abs are in shape. One of the key points the trainer emphasized to me, and something that has been really proving true for me, is how important it is to change up your workouts. The better shape you're in, the faster your body adapts, she said, and the more important it is to vary the types of exercises you do. Wow.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Lara--between your little zoo and Liann's scaly friends, we may have to change the name of our check-in thread. LOL. ;-)

Laura

Hello.

Today I did HCE Hi/Lo Intervals and Tracey's Core Blast. I am having to pause my dvd player a little more frequently now to let my HR go down. I am still trying my best to jump around with Cathe though!!

Laura...How is the wrist? I don't do the elliptical that much even though I really like that machine. I feel like I am gasping for air every time I get on it!! LOL at changing the name of the check-in. I have a dotson dog sitting next to me on each side and my GS dog at my feet. The cats are "playing", but it sounds more like they are fighting. Hopefully, DH and I sleep tonight!!

Have a great Sunday!
