Good morning,

I did not get here yesterday, the day just went by me.

Judy, nice workouts. I hope your allergies get better.

Diane Sue, John has been coughing a lot lately too. It's funny how some people have itchy, running eyes, and others cough. I made him go for a chest x-ray because I was worried about his constant cough, bur I guess it comes down to allergies. That was a tough workout...which rotation are you doing again?

Lori, hope your trip home was short, and uneventful. LOL on "toad stools"....and so many frogs in the yard! :) I bet Gigi was happy to see you.

Carolyn, that is great that you got your WW leader hooked on Cathe. :). Maybe she will join the forum soon. Which workout are you going to suggest for her to try next? Maybe a series like ICE or S&S.

Hoping to try a workout today, something from S&S...

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Friday I did a segment of Core Max, Basic Step and 4 rounds of Muscle Meltdown Triceps. Yesterday I did part of Yoga Max and 4 rounds of Muscle Meltdown Shoulders. I plan on trying Low Impact Step today or tomorrow.

Deb-Chris has been coughing a lot too. I think it's allergies as he had a chest X-ray recently and it was fine.

Diane Sue-I tried the bonus step routine that KCM has on Strength & Stamina one time. I've been looking at her Step-Boxing. I might give that a try soon.

Lori-That was a great idea to do the upper body workout with bands! I'll have to remember that for travelling. I usually take a band with me for Travel Fit, but it would be fun to try other workouts too.

Valerie-I hope you are having a good trip!

Carolyn-that is awesome that you got your WW leader to try Cathe workouts!

Hello Everyone,
No workout scheduled for today. Judy, you are doing great with the step workouts. I might use Basic Step on a day when I want a short less intense cardio. I'm glad that you reminded me about it. It was not with my other frequently used dvds so I had forgotten it.

I suggested the ICE series to my leader, but she only bought Chiseled Upper Body. She asked about an Ab workout and I recommended Ab Circuits. I will remind her that she has Icy Core 1 and 2 on the Chiseled Upper Body. That's one of the great things about Cathe dvds, there are so many options.

Have a wonderful day.

Good afternoon ladies,

This morning was a BBS lower body workout then a power jump workout. Time was 82 mins /625 cal.

Carolyn...agree her dvd's have so much to offer!

Judy....yes doing great with the Step workouts. The Buffed Uper Body workout was great and easy to modify with bands. There was only one move I needed to change slightly. Over head tricep extensions while lying on bench. I just repeated over head extensions. Eveything else worked great.

Deb...GiGi and Nilla were thrilled we were home. Once Nilla settled down a bit she was in my arms for pretty much the rest of the day. She slept and was very content.

Diane Sue...oh that really stunk you had to run back to the store! I am sure this set you back for the day. We plan on a new bed for her and had hoped to pick one up today butmthatndid not happen. The Power Stretch really works your legs at the same time.

Have a great afternoon all. Back to work for me tomorrow. :(

Hello all, I'm back. we had a busy week but not everything we wanted to get done. Home depot lost the rug we ordered. we got our sofa and entertainment center delivered but could not pick up the big rug. two smaller ones were there, but somehow HD lost track of it. frustrating because we are going to need the rug to decide if we have toned down the echo enough. we had family planning on visiting. we cancelled out before it got too late. too many things not completed and the echo will drive everyone nuts. they are LOUD people. the sofa helped but the carpet was the main thing! so next visit we will still be getting things delivered. the sofa and putting down some blankets on the floor helped a lot but slippery footing.

I didn't read last weeks thread yet. we did some hiking 3 days, checked out several mt biking areas, shopping, odds and ends, and drove home yesterday. it is starting to feel more comfortable and getting easier to find things . we met some neighbors we have a lot in common with who live there full time. there are a lot of part time residents.
we did a 25 mile ride this morning and feel more normal after sitting and driving 11.5 hours yesterday.

Today was a rest day. Family birthday fun :D

Deb, I have the coughing and I do get the itchy watery eyes , but coughing is the worst. I used to go to the doctor and they would do chest x rays I even had them try giving me antibiotics. I don't know why the antibiotics. That was before they started realizing they were overdoing them and giving them for every little thing. They didn't help. It is that itching tickling in the throat that just causes one to cough so hard. The rotation is really pretty intense. Most days are close to an hour workout time if followed how it is set. It is the Strong and Ripped rotation from Strong and Sweaty. Next week I will be doing weights predominantly from Ripped with Hiit along with cardios from both and and RWH CIrcuit Upper the latter part of the week.

Judy, I have done that 20 minutes bonus step from Kelly's Strength and Stamina quite a lot. Do you have her Cardio Blast workout? That has a step workout on it that is good. I really like her Step Boxing workouts. I guess you do have lots of options :)
Those 4 set options on Muscle Meltdowns are quite intense by the time you get to that 4th set.

Carolyn, you sound like me with having the frequently used workouts out and the others stored. Mine are in two cases and the others I use the most are out on my shelves. I do have a separate holder that holds about 10 dvds and sometimes when I go through my cases I had a few that I am thinking I would like to do or add to a rotation.

Lori, hopefully Gigi won't chew up the new bed when she gets it. I tried sewing up Gerties for quite awhile till it was getting pretty flat. She loves her new Serta memory firm bed that I bought her when we got rid of the carpet. That is sweet that Nilla was all settled and relaxed in your arms when you came home.

Valerie, that is too bad that you never got you rug. It is nice that you met some of the neighbors.

Diane Sue-I do have Cardio Blast, but I haven't done the step workout from it. I will have to try it soon.

I am moving to New Jersey, and my dear friend Bill is going to find a place for me. I did gain weight, and I know it is because I am going to that bakery/cafe two and a half blocks away. I can't wait to work, and I will write more after I move. It is good I am stronger now, and I can lift forty pounds. I am leaving tomorrow to spend some time with Bill, so I won't work out for 3 days.

I will really miss the bakery/cafe, and the two ladies there are so nice. I looked at the new workouts, and they are only 9.99 a DVD, so I think I will order some of them. I don't think I will be moved by August 31st, but I could always have them delivered to Bill's. I want to be out of here by Sept 5th.

Good morning,

No workout yesterday. I felt kind of light headed, and dizzy...not sure why. It went away after I bit.

Judy, great job on the MM Body parts....I think I want to try doing those 4 rounds...especially for arms. I need to build up muscle again. I have lost so much with the weight loss and no workouts. I forgot about that bonus step from KCM's Strength & Stamina DVD. A good little add-on when focusing on strength workouts.

Carolyn, Cathe DVD's are so useful, you get such good value with only one DVD. I hope your leader likes the one she has and starts looking into others.

Lori, so cute that little Nilla wanted to be held after you got back home. I hope Gigi likes a new bed and does not tear it up!

Valerie, that is too bad about the rug, but at least you do have some of the furniture now. Great that you met some neighbors. Are you planning on going back soon?

Diane Sue, they gave John anti-biotics too after his chest x-ray, and they didn't help at all. I don't know how you keep track of all the workouts you have! Do you have a list of some sort? I keep thinking of doing that instead of pawing through DVD cases, but have never got around to it.

Caitlin, Good luck with the move. I hope all works out well, finding a place etc. That bakery sounds like a nice place, I can see why you would miss it.

Take care,

I realized i had my weeks turned around on the rotation. I start with PHA today and tomorrow is a RWH upper back , biceps , and shoulders , i think. This week seems less cardio as it has PHA and all three weight sections from RWH. I will add a little more cardio. Not too much though. I was a bit surprised that they have PHA followed by an uppervweight day. I will keep that in mind choosing weights today for those body parts.

Deb, i think medicine and the protocol is costantly evolving. I am not a fan of being a guinea pig myself. I have two cases that i got from Walmart that have locks and you can buy extra pages for. I put all of Cathes in one and then a few such as all of the rebounder workout i have, all the yoga, etc. Then thevother case i started out alphabetical, by instructors. I kept instructors like Amy Bento and Tracey Staehle all together even if there were kettlebell workouts or yoga. Anyway , this makes it easier to go through to select a workou. At times when i am planning , i just sit ddown and go through them and take out what i want to use that week, and stick them in a smaller holder near the dvd player. I have all of the cover pages out of the original cases i gallon freezer bags. Cathes are all in one by themselves. My sets like RWH and X train are still in their larger cases like they came. It eliminates a lot of space taken up and when we moved it made it easier carrying my workouts back and forth from house to house.

I was watching a couple of Dr David Bergmans You Tube videos last nigh. One was on sleep. It brings a lot of thought to how we use things for say ,energy, day after day, or chemicals, mrds, to relax and throw our bodies off balance. I still have a hard time unwinding and shutting off electronics before bedtime, as i was watching youtube before bed. I have my Fit bit remind me at 9 pm to wind down before bed now so i dont get caught up in something way later than i should.

Judy maybe i should pullout KCM Step Blast and do the step before PHA this morning.

Deb we will go back in about a month. we hoped to stay longer and take our kitty along with us but now we still have no rug! I could not believe HD could not track it although they thought it might be in Denver. we'd ordered it in plenty of time.
we also have decided to add blinds in the great room. we had measured for them so it won't require the person to come out again but just calling and having them ready to be installed next visit. the whole issue is we don't know if these things, mainly the rug, will damp down the echo. we'd hoped to have family visit in September but until the echo is "handled" we don't want to invite anyone. it's not a large house. it can be loud even with the two of us especially with the TV on. guests, especially loud people, could lead to a difficult time for all. so we told everyone we will need to wait until next year. DH and myself will go in winter but not everyone would enjoy that. more later.

Today I did Kelly Coffey Athletic Step Blast, 34 minutes, 225 calories, heart rate average 138, max 168, 3,260 steps. I followed this with PHA which is the workout on my rotation for this week, 45 minutes, heart rate 11 average, 134 max, 222 calories, 1,226 steps. Total time was 79 minutes, calories burned 447. This week is more weight oriented. It has all 3 Ripped with Hiit weight workouts in it. I didn't go quite as heavy as I sometimes do. Mostly Cathe's weights since I have RWH back, shoulders, and biceps tomorrow. I checked and the only repetitive move is the pull overs which I will be doing again tomorrow. I think tomorrows shoulders are more delt based moves. This weeks cardios are Cardio Slam and RWH low impact 2. So, not a lot of cardio. Some is involved in lower body though I have done that one without the jumping cardio type moves before.
Weights today all done in 12 reps
done in 3 rounds
squat off the end 15#, 15#,15#
overhead press 15's,15's, 15's
upright row 15's, 15's, 15's
step ups 15's,15's, 15's
release push ups 12 reps
second 3 rounds
cross back lunges 15#,15#,15#
biceps curls 15's,15's, 15's
deadlifts 25's, 25's ,25's
pullovers 15's, 15's 15's
standing squats 20's 20's, 20's
lying extensions 12's 12's,12's

Valerie, I don't know what vehicle you are driving, but wondering if you couldn't get a rug ahead of time and take it there? I hope Home Depot finds your rung. You paid for it and they should have had it there for you. They are really not good with customer service at all.

STS D7, Chest, Back, and Shoulders today. I thought the push-ups would never end! Total time for me was 1 hour 30 minutes with 349 calories burned. Average heart rate was 103 and maximum heart rate was 136.

I pulled out the KCM Step Boxing and the Cardio Blast last week to see if I wanted to try them on my cardio days. I have done the Cardio Blast before but not Step Boxing.

After my experience with ordering from Lowes, I don't really trust either one of them. They need a better way to track the merchandise that comes in to the stores from online orders.

Enjoy the afternoon everyone.

we ordered rug online and requested shipment to Bozeman HD for pick up. we drive a Subaru Outback but it's a 10x13 rug and we didn't want to drive 700+ miles with it strapped to the roof. the two smaller rugs got there fine , but the bigger one is floating in space somewhere. it's not a stock item for HD so I don't know who screwed up, HD or the vender. oh well. just a delay most likely. we haven't paid for it yet as far as I know. a couple hundred dollars, not a fortune, but if they lost it for good, we want to get another re-ordered soon so it gets there!
we had talked to several CS people about it. wanted to be sure we could transport on top of our car. we were initially concerned if we ordered too early, they might not hold it because the hold time is 30 days. I thought that was a bigger issue, having it sent there too soon and sent back by accident. if it was too big for a Subaru , we'd have driven our truck. whatever! they have a month to find it.

I hope this is not too political, but I spent much of my free time last week on the Charlottsville mess and the response of our so called president to it. I 'm horrified and disgusted at the statements he made. a president should be bringing us together in difficult times, not further tearing us apart and encouraging extremists. his support for the racist lunatic fringe who were marching with swastikas and hitler salutes was appalling. So please, no one need comment on this further...but this was too horrendous for me to ignore.

ETA we were not in the total eclipse range but in the 92% range. I had a dentist Appt so didn't expect to see much, but I ran into someone outside the grocery store with welders hood and got a great look at the eclipse at just past peak coverage. if you are close by, it is worth it to take a look! glasses were sold out around here long ago so this was just luck for me.

Carolyn, those are both good step boxing workouts. There is more step boxing in the actual step boxing workout than the Step Blast Athletic step workout.

Valerie, it sure seems like they would be able to find your rug in a month if they work on it.

Good morning,

Yesterday my cousin and I walked 2 miles on the Rails to Trails path. It was very hot, but nice to be outside.

Diane Sue, I was surprised at that rotation too, having upper body right after the PHA day. Your DVD's sound nice and organized. :). Mine are all on a rack that was for CD's. I am always afraid the thing is going to topple over.

Valerie, it is amazing how a store could lose a big rug like that. You would think that if another store received it in error, they would contact someone to ask where it belongs right? Not much to see here on the eclipse.

Carolyn, I remember feeling the same way about those push ups in STS!

Hi to all, have a great day!

Deb, i could not imagine walking here right now. It is so hot and humid. I had 3 book shelves that held my workout dvds in the past and was running out of room with those and manuals. It is much better this way. I sometimes will set a couple of the paper dvd covers inside the cases so i can referece info off rhe back. I tend to forget which Party Rockin step workout is the more choreographed ( my favorite) and have those in the case so i dont put in the wrong one only to have to change ir. I suppose i could mark the the dvd its self.

I'm used to eating breakfast early but this morning I had to go get a blood draw for my physical tomorrow. I wanted fasting values. drank a little black coffee, and drove to the clinic. I can have the results when I see the doc tomorrow. she moved to a new facility and it's a much longer drive so not sure if I will stay with her. she is nice and seems competent but I have to deal with the awful commute traffic. I should have made the appt later in the day but it was last year when she was still at a closer facility. will see how it goes.

no word from HD so I guess we will have to call them again. I can understand something going to the wrong place accidentally but I don't understand how their tracking system can't find it at all. yep, not a little packet of washers but a great big rug.

Today I did Rockout Knockout, omitting the last kickboxing combo. My workout time was 52 minutes with 397 calories burned. Average heart rate was 133 and the maximum heart rate was 163.

Valerie, I had the same thing today--no breakfast because I had an appointment for blood work prior to my physical. My appointment for the physical is not for a couple of weeks. I am not a person who can skip meals so I took some apple slices and almonds to eat once I was back in the car. I knew that I would be really hungry since I worked out before the appointment.

We didn't go out to watch the eclipse but we had 97% totality. The sky was dim but not dark. Very strange looking and it was cooler for a short time.

Diane Sue, your DVD organization sounds good. I keep mine in the original cases because I like to read the backs when I go through them. I'm sure that I don't have as large a workout library as you do.

Hello Everyone and have a great day.

Today I did Rock'm Sock'm timesaver blasts only to get a good warm up, 22 minutes, 140 calories, heart rate average 133 max 166, 1,863 steps. I then went on to do Ripped With Hiit Back, shoulders , Biceps which is on my rotation. This was 64 minutes (actual workout 53) 172 calories, heart rate average 97 max 137, 1,466 steps. I finished off with Yoga Tune Up 10 minute quick fix neck and 10 minute quick fix shoulders, 20 minutes, 33 calories, 131 steps . Total time was 1 hour and 46 minutes and total calories was 345 calories.

Valerie, it is a shame that you have to keep calling Home Depot. I rarely make an appointment that far in advance. I think when I got a reminder of my dentist appointment this time, I had forgot that I did it 6 months ahead of time because I don't do that. So far I am lucky that my doctors and dentist can usually get me in fairly quickly.
