Good morning,

We picked up Keegan around 6:00 pm last night. It is good to have him home. Lots of instructions and meds to dispense, but so glad he is ok. Kylee is back to herself....she still has staples in the gashes, but you would not even know it.

Diane Sue, it didn;t look like he ate anything that caused an obstruction, they did a full body ( minus limbs) to make sure there wasn't anything like that causing it. They ended up saying it was a pancreatic attack....maybe too much fat. I feel horrible because I started them on coconut oil (him with 3/4 teas) in their food....to help with his skin. It could have been that addition of fat, with whatever he normally at that pushed it over...:(. That, combined with the stress of the last week, with Kylee, the attack and how injured she was. I know someone that had a pancreatic attack the day after something very stressful happened to them. One thing that is making me upset is that on the x-rays they did of his stomach etc, they found bladder stones…L. He had surgery to remove these 6 years ago, and I thought we were doing everything right to prevent them…so will be dealing with that once he is better.

Valerie, were you looking at the bear using binoculars? 50 yards seems very close to me, but maybe it isn't...

Did everyone look at the Fit Tower Live clip that Cathe filmed at the Roadtrip? It looks a lot like the Total Body DVD workout. All those Fit Towers in one room!

Housemax today, and TLC..I am the home nurse...

Take care,

Good morning all. I did high reps plus abs yesterday. Today will be a ride.

Deb so glad you are all recovering! Keep an eye on kylee for biting at the wounds. Our kitty was fine until the wound was almost healed and that's when it got itchy and he tore it open again. Sounds like you will be making some diet changes. For some people a fatty meal can trigger a gall bladder attack. pancreas is right there too
The bear was much closer but not visible. we heard "something" in the brush a few feet away. He ran away from us and started up the tree. tree was probably fifty yards. We got out the binocs as he climbed and looked briefly, but we moved away. This was normal "good bear" behavior . Time for us to move away too! This is a black bear not a grizzly but not a good idea to hang around and stress him... or us.
ETA... yes, even 50 yds is pretty close. ordinarily you would not get this close. we were making noise as we hiked so no idea why we walked up so close. it was a young bear, and maybe just not wary of people yet. we did our ride this morning, 25 miles 2 hours.

Deb, i bet it is some relief having Keegan home. I am sorry about the stones being there. I had read that too much fat is not good for dogs. I was eorried anout Gertie and when i make her dog treats i go a little lighter than the 3 Tablespoons coconut oil the recipe calls for. She has a really glossy coat. For some reason she has a bare patch on one of her legs where it bends. I have been watching it. I have no clue why. That is too bad this happened. You work so carefully on their diet. All of those Fit Towers must have cost a bundle. I wonder if the gym will be using that many? The live workout group is not that big of a crowd.

Valerie, good idea to move away from the bear. I am sure it was amazing to watch.

Good evening ladies,

I did the FT live Road Trip workout uesterday and I would compare it more to FT Bootcamp just longer. No weights, just bands. I liked it and will do it again. Boy did they cram all those Fit Towers in there! Seemed like eveyone had enough room so it worked well.

Deb...glad Keegan is home. He and you must be very happy with that. And also Kylee is back to herself. Love how dogs can bounce back so quickly.

Diane Sue...I saw Cathe posted that she will be selling off a bunch of the towers to road trippers for a really great price. She must have bought this many just for the road trip. There were 4 or 5 men in the workout. I wonder if their wives dragged them or if they are Cathe fans! I know Jess is a fan and I love seeing him at the road trips. I made a 35 min workout of Amy Bentos 3 rebounding ones and took out the weights. Going to try it today and see how it flows.

Valerie...that bear sounds beautiful. Glad he went up the tree! Good your hips recover quickly. That hike sounded really hard.

Have a great day all!

Deb, I'm so glad that your dogs are doing better and that Keegan is home. You must be so relieved.

Today I did a short walk on the treadmill and a FT Legs, Glutes, and Core timesaver for 28 minutes.

Lori, I looked at a part of the Live FT class. That's great that you did it already. It seemed to have elements of all three workouts but mostly Bootcamp. It was amazing to see all of those Fit Towers together. Cathe said on the road trip forum that they would be selling 70 of them to the interested participants for $99.00.

Hello to everyone and I hope you are having a wonderful afternoon.

Deb 3/4 tsp of anything sounds pretty minimal. some breeds are prone to certain problems regardless of what you do. our kitty ate normal dry catfood and got bladder stones. so do some people! some people are stone formers. you should not try to avoid issues like this, but sometimes physiology is hard to work around. I always complain about DH and myself..... we eat almost the same things, he eats more volume and more sweets, but my cholesterol is 170 , hdl 75 and his is 230 and 30. sometimes there is no direct "cause and effect", just individual differences! Don't beat yourself up. you are trying to do the best thing for your pups.

did our regular road ride this morning 25 miles, 2 hours and 5 minutes. we take a long break in the middle for bathroom and a snack and to get over a high traffic bridge that can't be avoided. our mph has been increasing.

Lori, I was thinking how much those would have cost. Also just having that many available. I bet this was planned well ahead of time. That is great for those that are at the road trip if they would like to purchase one. I imagine it would have to be those that drove there though. I doubt it would be easy to take one on a plane or something. I bet that it was fun doing the Fit Tower workout. I remember doing a workout similar to Rock Out Knock Out while watching a road trip video, It was fun. Great idea putting Amy's workouts together without the strength. I don't mind the strength if it were a day I wanted some, but I was really wanting just the cardio when I have done the workouts. How was workout 3?

Carolyn, the treadmill walk and FT workout sounds like a nice workout combination.

Valerie, nice ride today. Great job on increasing the speed. I think we all do the best that we can with how we are made up. Animals come with genetic predispositions too.

I am still quite thin, and I am 100 pounds or less, but I am only 5'1" with a very small frame, and my size 4 rings are big now. I can only say I take after my mom, who weighed 88 to 90 pounds, and I have never gone that low. I am still avoiding cardio because of the calorie burn. I spent quite a bit of time on my legs today. My dear mom, whom I miss very much, was top heavy, and I am much too big on top, hence, the size one Enell bra.

Good morning,

Things are looking better all around, maybe we can get back to "normal" soon.

Valerie, nice ride yesterday...yes, it is high fat I guess that triggers a pancreatic attack....:(. I feel horrible, since I am the one that controls his food. However, he probably got too much in the way of "treats" like cheese etc and added to the food, tipped it over the edge. I would be terrified if a bear was that close.

Diane Sue, that is why I was trying to do the coconut oil, because Keegan has such awful skin issues. I guess they must have had 105 Fit Towers in that video done from the Road trip....the room she used has to be huge. Agree, not that many in the usual Thursday Live filming.

Lori, thanks for the info on the Fit Tower Road Trip Live. That makes sense that Cathe would sell those Fit Towers...how many could she use at the gym on a regular basis anyway. I agree with Diane Sue, I guess if you drove there it would be a great deal to buy one for $99. I see that "Jess" in every road trip video or clip...I wonder who he is. He must live near there. You would think you would see him in the Live classes sometimes but I don't think I have.

Carolyn, sorry about the allergies. I have heard from most that this is a bad summer here in NY for allergies.

Puppy class this morning, it's their graduation day!

Take care,

Deb, nice to hear things are settling down a bit. For some reason i always thought dairy was not good for dogs. I guess i did have a vet suggest yogurt for aour english bulldog many years ago Then there are treats with cheese. I dont know where i got the idea it was not good. The coconut oil in Gerties treats is the only extra fat she gets other than whatever is in her grain free dog food. I wish she wasnt losing interest in the salmon dog food. We are back to pumpkin again. I just hate it when she b leaves it set. I have some of the sane flavor / brand in treats upstairs. She sits and sniffs them reluctantly before taking them. She likes her homemade treats.

Today I did the Fit Tower Total Body Lower body premix which does all of the lower body twice, 34 minutes(actual 28) 155 calories, 106/129 heart rate, 996 steps. I try to not spend too much time writing things down as this just moves from one exercise to the next. But, I did stop a bit to write and adjust. Also had to run downstairs and turn the light off after my husband left. Trying to work with the smart hours and electricity:) I then did Ripped with Hiit Lift it Hit it Lower body skipping the warm up, 39 minutes, 203 calories, heart rate 113 average/ 150 max, 1,358 steps. Total time was 73 minutes, 358 calories. Lots of errands to get done today.

Caitlin, I hear you on the allergies. Mine seem to be almost year round. I thought I had them pretty much under control this year but recently they have flared back up. You must be very tiny.

Today I Did RWH Plyo HiiT Two and FIt Tower Bonus Abs. Plyo HiiT Two uses the step and I did low impact modifications for some of the jumping. Total time for both was 42 minutes.

Deb, I have noticed the young guy Jesse in the road trip videos and wondered about him also. He has been there for several years and we have seen him grow up quite a bit during that time. In her post Cathe said that they would ship the Fit Towers for $19.95 for those who needed it. That's still quite a bargain.

Hello to everyone.

Hi everyone . just back from a nice hike. it was warm today but will be way too hot the next few days, so we did this hike as a "last chance" for a while. 5 1/2 hours, around 7 miles RT. I am fine going uphill, but my hip gets sore coming down. it is OK by the time I get home. not sure about what to do. nothing for the moment. we might ride the next couple days if we go early but too warm to do much else. we are not used to temps in the 90's here and it about kills me when we get a stretch like that. it will not cool down at night like it normally does. sorry, many of you live with those temps all the time. I am a heat wimp.

Good evening ladies,

This moring was Chest and Back. My sons GF stayed over and worked out on the JumpSport while we did our P90x. Was a lot of fun. This was my only workout today. 43 mins / 222 cal.

Deb...so glad your doggies are on the mend. Little Nilla had a rough weekend. We think she had a really bad seizure Friday night and had a hard time getting out of it. We really thought this was it for her. Yesterday she turned the corner and is doing very well. Her doctors is amazed. We all are. She is 17 and has had epilepsy since she was 5. We are blessed we have had her as long as we have. Even her doctor says this is not the norm. I have seen Jesse in a live workout. Maybe 2 I think. He is always at the road trips. He also is a guru on music used in cathe's workout and has posted a few times listing songs.

Diane Sue...I liked the amy bento workout I made up. It was fun and I liked it so much better with no strength. Really great workout today!

Carolyn...yes we have seen Jesse grow, he is so tall! I love watching him as he seems to really enjoy himself! Agree the Fit Towers were a great deal.

Valerie...working out in the 90's really takes a toll on you. Hope the hips bounce back like they have been.

Caitlin...hope you are able to get some relief from your allergies. Your cat sounds beautiful.

Welll...off to hand feed my little nilla some fresh chicken. She loves it when I hand feed her and I love doing it for her . :)

Lori that is so sweet about Nilla. My BIL And Sil always have chihuahua I know about hand feeding. Our kitty is getting up there too, is about 15. He was getting so thin I got some worm meds first to take care of that potential problem. . Just a topical med these days. Then he seemed to be interested in whatever was on my dinner plate so I started giving him a bit of chicken or fish. Hand fed, of course.!! He won't eat canned cat food .... tried that many times... but he will very happily eat plain canned chicken. He comes running! It developed in a several- times -a -day ritual and he has gained weight and looks so much healthier. Still eats his dry kibble but loves his chicken. He begs for it. I buy the Kirkland canned chicken and give him s tablespoon several times a day He won't let me forget.!

Good morning,

No workout yesterday...still not feeling it. Hopefully after this week I will have a better attitude.

Diane Sue, Gertie knows that the treats "Mom" makes are way better than an store bought ones...LOL...

Carolyn, you're doing great with the rotation!

Valerie, wow, that was a long hike...It sounds like your kitty has you trained...:). Don't they all? LOL....

Lori, so glad to hear Nilla is ok now. Dogs are so resilient, I didn't realize Jesse is the one that posts about the songs on Cathe's workouts...

Have a great day!

I think today will be some cardio and maybe try to get some rest. Although relaxing the last few days has not worked out for me. Several nights with lack of sleep and I am starting to feel done in. Gertie was having tummy troubles yesterday and I had to clean up the floor between cleaning. Hopefully she is better today. I just gave her rice and some of the pectin medicine I use when this starts. Usually that stops it. My neck hurts so bad right now. I have avoided upper weights other than some arms the last few days. Even the light weighted cardio workouts. So, Excedrin first thing this morning. This phone issue is driving me crazy and I have spent hours dealing with it and other things. I got the 3rd one yesterday set it up and it now has the same touch whiz not responding problem. This is a launcher in Samsung's latest phones. The thing is once I put my sim card and sd card in the new phone the other one started working the apps great! No more touch whiz problem. So, I have to deal with this now. I don't really want to deal with going to AT&T today. I have to get the other phone cleared out and back within 10 days though. Will see how I feel when the Excedrin kicks in.

Valerie, the 90's would be miserable for a long ride. We saw a guy on a motorcycle the other day when it was 100 with full gear on, jacket with the protective patches, boots, etc.. My husband commented on how that guy had to be pouring sweat. We haven't ventured out on it in the high heat. We have a cool down for a couple of days in the 80's. We even got a it rain finally.

Lori, that sounds like fun having your son and his girlfriend working out with you. I liked the Amy Workout 2 rebounding better than the first part. I really need to check out 3. Does she do a lot of strength in workout 3? I wish the lighting and camera angle were a bit better, but it is free and does not affect the workout. She needs to change the glass cover on the overhead light. We have one like that in our hallway and it casts bright lines of light out in a starburst pattern. I find it a bit distracting. Cute that Nilla likes you to hand feed.

Deb, my grandson 17 comes in and eats one of Gerties treats. LOL He had a friend with him and was getting him to try one of Gerties treats. I keep telling him I do have other food here.

Hi Everyone,

Saturday I did Timesaver Legs and XTrain Bonus Barre. Sunday I did an indoor ride and yesterday I did Jessica Smith Ultimate Bootcamp.

Deb-I'm so glad things are getting back to normal for you. That was a rough week :(

Lori-I'm glad Nilla bounced back from the seizure. That is so sweet that she loves to be hand fed. You have taken such wonderful care of her for her to be doing so well at 17. That is rare.

Valerie-That's great that your kitty gained some weight. Our kitties like canned chicken too. I'll have to get some of the Kirkland brand the next time I am at Costco.

Carolyn-I remember seeing Jesse in the first road trip video I saw, back in 2013 or 2o14. He looked so young then. Great job with the RWH workout. I really like the Fit Tower bonus abs.

Diane Sue-Great workouts as usual! Fit Tower & RWH looks like a challenging combination. I'm sorry about your neck. I hope you are able to get better rest soon. I also hope you get your phone issues resolved. That sounds very frustrating.

Caitlin-my allergies are very bad in the late summer. Ragweed is the worst one for me and it usually comes out in August around here.

Judy
