Good morning,

I thought I posted yesterday, but can't seem to find it? Mmmm, strange. Anyway, no workout yesterday, but I did go to agility class with Kylee.

Valerie, beautiful pictures! Glad your hip feels better.

Diane Sue, I have driven myself home after eyes being dilated, they always make sure you have sunglasses, and if not, they give you a really dorky pair of paper ones to use...LOL. I wear the sleep mask for the same reasons....John can stay up reading with the light on and it doesn't matter to me anymore. :).

Carolyn, that sit up/push up combo would not be so difficult if Cathe could slow it down. The hardest part is switching from one position to another. :).

Lori, did you like the Metabolic Meltdown? So happy you do the Live List....It would be so frustrating without your list! I am surprised Cathe's Admin does not do something like that. Yes, they have some ways to look at the workouts, but no way to sort by time, type etc like your spreadsheet! We are supposed to get thunder storms this afternoon...maybe even hail..ugh..Nice ad...do you use that protein powder?

A workout, then HouseMax for me....

Take care,

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday was Cathe's live new metabolic workout. I then felt like I could use more legs so did a BBS band section from one of her DVD's, then I did a quick bellicon jump. Total time was 66 mins / 413 cal.

Deb...I really liked the live workout. Moved really quick and kept my heart rate up nicely. This will be a favorite. I do not use the protein powder. I tried using a powder a few years back but was never consistent. I am not good at all with any kind of supplements. I am always so excited in the beginning then I drop off quickly. I seem to lose a post now and then too!

Carolyn...I can not keep Cathe's pace on the sit up/ push up combo. I lag considerably!!

Diane Sue...I will check out Gay's rebounder. Is this pne on YouTube? For some reason I thought so. Looking forward to amy's Youtube workouts.

Have a great day all!

Good morning. We did a very easy ride yesterday with cousin and wife, 15 miles. On our way back a bee flew into my face and into my mouth. I spit instantly but it stung me on the edge of my tongue. Yes it hurt!! Stopped immediately and rinsed my mouth and had DH look at it it felt like I'd bitten myself and it swelled a little. I'd taken an antihistamine earlier. pollen was bothering me , so that might have helped.discomfort lasted half an hour. So Deb, proof that you need to take an epi pen This is the second time I've been stung in 2 years . It was not as bad as the yellow jacket sting on my thigh but the location was much worse .we went back to our house for lunch so I was ok quickly
I can't transition quickly on the sit up push up series either. My form gets sloppy. I slow it down and count , thinking the number is more important than speed this is a good time to slow the DVD if yours has that feature. Mine goes to 80%

I was sick for a while, and I just worked out doing my lower body yesterday. You are lucky you have an epi pin. I keep asking my doctor for one, and it seems I am living on benadryl.

Hello Everyone,
No workout for me today. I am making some of my husband's favorites for Fathers Day. That means burgers and something with chocolate for dessert!

Lori, your husband's cousin is very impressive in that commercial. I can't keep up with Cathe's speed with the push-ups and sit-ups. I go slower and do as many as I can.

Valerie, what a terrible experience to have a bee go in your mouth. Are you allergic to bee stings?

I hope you are all having a good day.

It was over and done very quickly. it actually didn't get "into" my mouth but hit me on the lip corner, causing me to spit. my tongue came out enough and that's where he got me. I am not allergic to bee stings though I don't enjoy them.
Deb's husband is allergic though, and we'd talked before about whether he needed to carry an epi pen. I've been stung twice in two years so, yes, he should. no one else even saw a bee.... I was just unlucky. I stopped quickly and didn't fall which is probably the biggest risk when something unexpected happens. .

No workout today. Lots of activity here though:) Family day with fathers day and my sons birthday. He swears he is not having anymore birthdays. I told him that is too bad because we are doing it anyway LOL He is my oldest 43. I think I might do STS tomorrow , but am sure when the Fit Tower workouts come I may take a break before meso 3 for two weeks. I guess I will see how I feel after checking the workouts out.

Deb, I noticed that you did not check in yesterday.

Valerie, that would be worrisome getting stung in the mouth like that when out and away from home. The benedryl probably helped some.

Lori, I am pretty sure that there are some of the URX-MT workouts on you tube so you might check for that one. I enjoyed that one a lot. I bet you are motivated by your husbands cousin. She is in great shape.

Caitlin, sorry that you have been sick. I hope that you are on the mend now.

Carolyn, I have so many of my family members that have to have chocolate. So, today was pineapple upside down cake, my son's favorite, nutella brownies. I felt like I spent most of the day in the kitchen yesterday cooking. I am glad it was cooler today.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Cathe S&S Total Body Giant Sets, the Lower Body Only premix.

Lori, good workout combo!

Valerie, that is so scary about the bee. I will have to let John know that this happened.

Caitlin, hope you are feeling better. Why can't you get an Epi pen?

Carolyn, nice that you made your husband's favorites for Father's Day. The dogs and Fritz gave John his favorite sponge candy. :)

Diane Sue, nice that you were able to celebrate 2 events at once. :). You may want to wait a week or so before STS. I think the new workouts will ship this week sometime. I may be the only one that is really not looking forward to the new DVD's. I kind of wish I would not have ordered them.

Keegan is sick....vomited this morning twice and will not eat anything. *sigh*...not sure what is up with him now. I have puppy class this morning, and wanted to get a haircut, but not sure if I want to stay out of the house for that long...

Take care,

Deb, maybe once you get the workouts you will like them much more than you think. I am sorry Keegan is sick. I hope it is something that stops quickly.

Deb I never thought about bee stings as much of an issue riding, but twice in 2 years is hard to ignore. the first time I was riding with DH, and he didn't get stung, and saturday, I was riding with 3 people and again I was the only one. unlucky! John should definitely carry an epi pen even if chances are slim of it happening.

I agree, since you ordered the workouts , you should look at them. I skipped this series. I have WAY more things than I can use already. half the year I tend to do outdoor things anyway.

hope Keegan is OK.

we did some serious yard work yesterday. DH was pruning, I was weeding and raking, gathering up the debris. with all the rain, things grow like crazy here, and we are getting overgrown in some spots where things are too big to prune anymore. I hadn't weeded some areas and wow, they were ready. that was the workout yesterday. today we wanted to ride but so far it's overcast and drizzling so will wait for it to burn off.

Today I did Afterburn. This workout was a little harder than I remembered, but I made it to the end. I think that the mountain climbers make it hard for me. Workout time was 54 minutes with 385 calories burned. Average heart rate was 129 and maximum heart rate was 161. I put some furniture polish on my gliding discs because they have been sticking. I had to be careful with them after that!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I decided to hold off on STS. I think I would get more benefit from it if I didn't take weeks off in between. So, I did Jari Love Extremely Ripped Bootcamp, complete workout, 78 minutes, 484 calories. When I put it in my fitness pal I saw previously with my polar I burned 632 calories. Oh well, again these devices are not accurate, but from what I get now I think it was a great calorie burn. I used the heavier weights the ladies in back used and more advanced cardio work. I thought it was funny that the guy is never sweating in the cardio segments and in the weight segments his shirt is all wet. This one is around 3 minutes of cardio alternated with some ab/core work and compound weights. Lots of lunges in it with overhead press, Arnold press, and front raise. The abs contain some isolation work . I like that there is not a bunch of oblique work. I am always a bit afraid of building that area up. I used to do this one a lot and use the rebounder for the cardio. The man in it does the spin bike. Errands and cleaning today. I need to do some cooking and stuff with all of these veggies I stocked up on. Maybe get some recipes made up that I can freeze part of . Gertie needs her bath. This is her week for the Frontline and I like to get the bath over and her dried well before I do it.
Just got a text from my daughter. Her husband broke his hand catching a baseball at a game that was headed for her head. He didn't go in at first and when it was still hurting a couple of days later my daughter ordered him an X ray. They got him in for surgery this morning. THey put two pins in it.

Valerie, it sounds like the bees are after you. Definitely a sign that you need to be careful. Yard work was probably enough of a workout. It has been so hot here, I do not really want to go outside and do yard work. I go out early with Gertie and water a bit and go back in the house. My front planter needs some attention again.

I got hit by another bee today but no sting. I am on some kind of roll here. we rode our usual 26 miles. the battery on my odometer quit right at the beginning. it really is an incentive to speed up, or a reminder how far we've gone. I missed it and kept compulsively looking at it. it worked for the first 0.35 miles, and then briefly to 0.69 and that was it. 2 hrs 15 min.

I got the Ironman HRM from niece's husband. I have it partly set up now and will use it next time we ride. it has a "bike" mode so maybe iI will get a reasonable calorie burn and mileage. it's much nicer than the unit I have. he said it worked fine but he upgraded to a nicer one . the watch band was missing so I put on a new one. I'm good with those nasty spring pins.

diane sue your comments about the sweating reminds me... I don't sweat much anywhere. I usually work out where it's cool, but I'm not sweaty no matter what I do. just doesn't happen. If I drink more water, I just pee more so not a hydration issue. so yes, it always looks weird to me that people supposedly sweat heavily doing weights. I sweat a little with cardio but not much even then.

Hi Everyone,

I got side tracked by projects at home and I need to get caught up on all the posts. Friday I did Cathe Live Metabolic Meltdown and an ICE Muscle Meltdown Combo. Saturday was a rest day, and yesterday I did a Slide & Glide premix and a Spinerval Timesaver. Today I did Body Blast Timesaver #5, Legs.

Deb-I'm sorry about Keegan :( I hope he is ok. I hope you like the new dvds, but if not you can probably sell them.

Valerie-that is really scary about the bee stings. I was lucky, all the years I ran and rode outside I never had that happen.

Carolyn-Great workout! Someone else mentioned putting furniture polish on the discs. I would never have thought of that, but it sounds like it works.

Lori-that was great commercial. Very impressive!

Diane Sue-I'm sorry about your son in law's hand :( Great job on the Jari Love workouts. I plan on trying one this week.

Caitlin-I'm sorry you have been sick. Hope you are feeling better.

Judy

Judy, I read about using furniture polish on the gliding discs somewhere on this forum years ago. It definitely works. I work out on carpet and need the discs to move easily. You should be sure to wipe them off completely after using the furniture polish or they will slide away from you :).

I spent some time outside planting some holly hock flower seeds and cleaning up then came in and stained my lower kitchen cabinets. They have always needed it and I had been using some other stuff with a wax that does not last. Upper cabinets are fine. I will varnish all of them tomorrow.

Valerie, I don't sweat as much as a lot of people and I hardly break a sweat doing weight training. It always gets me when an instructor says they are starting to sweat and I am looking at them wondering why would they be sweating , it's not that hard. Now if I go outside in the heat and humidity I will sweat!

Judy, I am kind of enjoying going over the Jari Love workouts again. I am going to try the last one I purchased which was Extremely Ripped and Chiseled again. I have hardly done it. I purchased it around the time of knee surgery and maybe that affected my judgement of it. It can be done as total body or upper and lower separate. Still high reps though. I can not remember if it is done in combos of upper and lower on part of it so I need to check it out again. Good jog on the workouts even if you were side tracked with household projects.

Carolyn, I had not thought of doing that with the discs. It would be sort of like when we used wax paper to make the slides at the park nice and slippery.

Good evening ladies,

Today was a rest day. Woke up grabbed my coffee and knew immediatley it was not happening! Sunday I did Gay Gaspers rebounding that Diane Sue mentioned. I really liked it. Was a lot of fun. I stopped when I got to the strength training. I was tired from the previous metabolic workout. I then did a couple of Bellicon dance bounces. Total time was 73 mins/ 531 cal.

Valerie...yikes that bee sting must of hurt alot!!! Then good thing you did not get stung again today! You must smell like flowers!!! I sweat sooooo much. Always have. Sometimes it can be embarising. I was a cheerleader in highschool and had to wear under arm dress shields so the red wool would not bleed onto my white turtle neck! I learned the hard way. :( Even now after some of my workouts the sweat is dripping off me.

Deb...hope Keegan is feeling better! Did you try the new love metabolic yet? I do not think I read you did. Just curious if you liked it. I think once you do the new workoits you will like them. Funny for me is the lower body barre workout. This looks like my least favorite! I really like to core work that it has shown. Go figure!

Diane Sue...Gay's rebounding was fun and I will do it again. The complete workout is on Youtube so I grabed it. I may edit it to take out the strength and just use as the rebounding only.

Carolyn...I read that too and spray my discs periodically. Yes!!! When you first spray they are slippery for sure. Afterburn is a really tough workout. I hate mountain climbers! I avoid them more than I avoid core! :p

Caitlin...hope you are feeling better soon.

Judy...nice workouts. Been ages since I have done Slide and Glide. I should pull this out. I really liked it. Projects at home can be great!

Have a great night all.

Lori, nice calorie burn and workout. The strength at the end is not real long anyway. Mostly core work. She has two URX-MT workouts. I have the format of most of them written down in a notebook. I thought I had all of them but when I looked not too long ago I missed some. I used to hate mountain climbers , but the grew on me and have gotten easier. Sometimes I do those or plank jacks instead of some of the other moves on workouts done on the floor. Particularly if they involve extra push ups.
