Well, I finally saw my sports doc, and apparently I have an anterior-rotated left pelvis that's causing my hip pain and maybe other pain too. So I gotta go into see my CAT- Certified Athletic Therapist, and she'll give me some exercises and stretches to sort me out. No idea what caused it though, except maybe an imbalance while doing something like a plie squat, maybe. She had to put me through a lot of motions to figure it out; nothing was triggering it at all. Finally I was lying on my back and she just started feeling around my front pelvis with her fingers (hurt- I got bones there!) and figured it out then.
I don't think she gets much exercise herself; she was discouraging me from doing HIIT training and she really doesn't look in great shape. I think she knows her stuff, though, and I like my CAT a lot- she's been very helpful in the past, and since it's through a hospital, they only charge $20 per session (the sports doctor visit is free with my provincial health coverage).
Today I picked up a book called "Designing Resistance Training Programs" and another one about learning to run half-marathons and marathons. Really, it was like they were calling out to me. How could I resist, when the universe so clearly put them in my path for me to find?
