New Cathe Catalog Suggestions!

All the suggestions sound great! Maybe a list of the songs that are played like you did for Body Blasts Series in the old catalog.

I would like to see the amount of weights you are using plus the weight on the barbell}( . This would give us a better idea of wht to have handy.

I love all your new workouts:)

Well, I think the first question is, to which audience are you aiming this brochure? Because many of the suggestions provided here are geared toward those of us who know and love Cathe and that type of information (chapter break points and such) might better be provided here on the Website rather than in a printed document that would likely really confuse a new person.

I would love to see the premixes and premix times (plus this would help new folks recognize how much bang they get for their buck). Also, the equipment needed would be really helpful.

For newcomers, I think it's most important to categorize the workouts by type, and making sure the descriptions include information about why that type of workout is important and what makes it different than other types (defining the difference between, say, a circuit workout and an interval workout). Also, how the workout (the individual workout or the category of workouts) could be integrated into an effective plan - i.e., if you're looking to lose fat or build muscle or increase cardio endurance, etc. Also, why that's an important component to a fitness program.

Finally, I'd love to see Cathe's beginner rotation included, perhaps with suggestions to workouts that could appropriately be plugged in (so the person might have some choices), as well as an intermediate rotation, which has been requested repeatedly. (I realize the difficulty with that is defining what "intermediate" is, but perhaps it could just be designed assuming the person has done the beginner rotation for 6 weeks or so.)

Just my .02,
Marie

I second the above suggestion. Definitely all the information about the workout and the lengths of each premix.

Also if all of your workouts old and new can be included. For the catalog to be an "All Cathe Workouts Resource Manual".

I agree that the decision of which of these suggestions to include depends heavily upon whom the intended audience of the catalogue is. If it is us, then most of these suggestions state are unnecessary because we come on these boards and find it out for ourselves, on a near-daily basis, or, since we are long time Cathe DVD users, we already know it. Who here, for example, really does not know what equipment is needed for the Gym Style workouts?

I don't know, I find a lot of these suggestions to be either trivial or unnecessary.

What I do like is what the previous poster has suggested: to include sample rotations for beginners, intermediates and the super advanced based on all the workouts included in the catalogue. That would perhaps suggest something useful to both newcomers and old timers alike.

I like Marie's suggestions (previous poster) very much. They make the most sense to me and would make the Cathe catalogue, for those of us who own everthing or nearly everything Cathe has released, a useful publication. Otherwise, for those of us who do own (nearly) everything, what is the point of the catalogue, other than to look at some glossy photos of DVDs we already have?

I like the idea of listing the premixes with running times, but also categorizing the premixes-(and all of the workouts) into step cardio, floor cardio, Total body circuit, lower body circuit, upper body circuit, interval training. Maybe also utilize the ratings that your users rated them on a scale from 1-10 (1 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest).
Thanks

Inspirational stories from your readers, would be nice as well as little tidbits, from you and the crew, would be nice as well! Thanks, Annette

How about a poster-size poster of Cathe's bicep pose and Cathe baby doll t-shirts in a variety of colors.

Just can't get enough...

To go along with Clare's suggestion, if you do include sample rotations, you might consider offering DVD bundles of the titles used in the rotation. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes things that come in a "set" and especially for a Cathe newcomer, a DVD bundle that contains everything you need for a goal-specific rotation would be very attractive!

As others have said, thanks for asking for our input and thanks for your wonderful workouts!

Yes, yes, yes to:

Premixes w/times,
Categorization (w/legend/icons of some sort),
Generic rotation w/category vs. specific workout - esp. beg/int.
Bundles relevant to said rotations

So many smart ideas!!
