Moves you're glad no one else sees you doing!

The post about how the football drills make one Catheite feel light and floating made me think of this, since this is one move that fits in this category for me! (moves I don't want anyone to see me doing vs. moves that make me feel 'light and floating'!)

I feel like I'm frantically trying to keep on beat, and my feet just can't step big enough to do so without mucho effort, and it's not a pretty sight.

Some other 'I hope no one is watching' moves:
my attempts at doing tuck jumps (this body just isn't made for height or tucks!). I shouldn't even call them tuck jumps, because they are pretty tuckless in my case;

hesitation repeaters (I just think they look silly, and when Cathe makes comments about them 'looking good' or something similar, I usually make a snide remark).

that weird hand-shaking thing in LIC. It looks odd as-is, and my substitution ("jazz hands"!!) looks odd as well, but it's fun!

So, anybody else have moves like this? (Or am I the only one who is sometimes very glad I'm working out alone at home? :D )

I can only imagine how silly I must look doing squat thrust. Actually, I'm pretty sure I look silly with all moves. I imagine myself looking like the girls in the vids, but I've seen myself in the mirror a few times....not pretty.

Flying angels. My clunkiest move bar none. :7

ETA, just for a visual: think Frankenstein trying to do ballet. THUNK twist THUNK twist THUNK

All of the above. I esp look funny trying to do that squat thrust, jump tuck and go over the step. Often I don't make it over the step!!

I can't kickbox in front of anyone. I feel like an idiot punching an imaginary opponent.

The hand moves in some of Cathe's earlier step workouts are too embarrasing to do in front of others. When I saw her shake her hands in LIC I immediately thought of her earlier stuff and shuddered.

These first two are from older Cathe step vids:

'Pony on the corner with party arms' - I've been to a lot of parties and have never seen anyone doing arms like these. I hit myself in the face once doing party arms. Glad no one was looking!

'Strike a pose'. Don't know why, but this move reminds me of Charlie's Angels when they would burst into a room with their guns. I always giggle and do something really silly when I do this move alone but if someone is around I skip it entirely.

More recently, my husband gave me a strange look when he caught me doing the forward bounding move in Drill Max. I would think from an outsider's point of view it would look kind of odd too.

These are all I can think of now. I'm sure more will come to mind later....

RE: Susieq!

I like Q for a a name! My cousin and mom call me Susie-Q, but I have two brothers and growing up they had much more interesting names for me.

Let's see...I do not know if I have a particular move that I don't want anyone else to see, but I have TRIPPED a few times, and felt so embarrassed even when no one was around (luckily). The only benefit is, is if you manage to not sprain your ankle, falling does get that heart rate going!!!

One time I fell rather spectacularly when doing the fast-feet interval in IMAX2. It was impressive, too. It consisted of tangling my feet, then tripping, then rolling across the floor. To this day I cannot believe I was not hurt.

Totally understand where you're coming from. Do you do Fast feet now? If so, what is your secret? Good thing you weren't hurt, it wouldn't been pretty and quite painful.

I feel a little ridiculous doing windmills & also the speed bag arms in KPC (where you're also jogging in place with feet apart).

>How about the Macarena Arms in the cool down of Power Max?
>:)

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. It's twice as embarassing if you already knew the Macarena Arms before seeing it in Powermax.:p

the most embarrassing thing (after working and my husband take a glimpse) is when i feel "slimmer" that day so i put some really short cloths and i start to jump and kick and everything and then i see myself in the mirror and my friends i can tell u its not a pretty sight.i embarrass myself (which is stupid if u think of it)
i don't know why but in my mind I'm taller and slimmer.

oh illusions

I absolutely HATE doing the "hand shake" thingy in LIC!! My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw them doing this one. I even tried it and felt like a fool!

I also cannot imagine the way I look when I am trying to do the rebound back off the step! I certainly am not "rebounding" but more "falling" backwards.

Squat thrusts are definitely something I want no one else to witness! I kind of like the shaking hand thingy in LIC... One of my most embarassing, almost disasterous moments was when I tripped over my step and I felt TOWARDS the TV with my head stopping just centimeters from going through the screen! I still don't know how I didn't go through that screen with as much momentum as I had going!

Oh, I'm laughing as I can sooo relate! I, too, tend to do tuck jumps as jumps with the knees raising a bit. Tough getting all 5'10 of me into the air to tuck anything.

Squat thrusts... hmmm, well, maybe the first one looks OK, but after than - fuggetaboutit!

DH walked in on my doing firewalkers and gave me THAT look (you know - the one that says, "Okay, I've been a bit worried about you, but seriously, now I think you've gone around the bend.")

Fortunately, I usually work out early in the AM, so only my dogs get to witness most of my blunders. (And to be honest, my male dog has given me THAT look, too.) I actually like fast feet - okay, I'm weird. And I LOVE the fast foot repeaters in RS. But the cross country repeater in BM2 - I don't know why, but I feel like I'm tripping over the step and trying to save myself.

Flying angels I simply refuse to do as I've managed to fly right off the step a few times. Graceful I am not!
