Lurker's Invitation

Starting STS Today!!!!:eek::eek::eek:
Ok I know I am a geek but I am so excited! I just wrote down all my target weights for my 1st workout and there all these weird #'s like 7 lbs or 19 lbs or 22lbs! So wishing I had those plate mates NOW~! Oh well I guess I will round up to the closet weight and see if that is to much or not. Sounds like Michelle says there is quit a bit of figuring out the first time through anyway!

Back later for personals and let you know how I did!

Just a quick check-in this morning, back tonight -

Laura, congratulations! All that prep and planning ... I hope you have a great time with disc 1. And then you are skiing afterwards, brave woman that you are.

Michelle, sounds like a fantastic trip! Very happy for you - with so many nasty travel stories out there, it's heartening to hear a good one. Enjoy that wonderful room, and let us know about Travel Fit when you get a chance.

Hi Shoegal, glad to see you on SP - it is a very big site! It was smaller when I started, and I mainly stayed with the simple parts for quite awhile. Happy to help.

I did Cardio Core Circuit, and those rolls are exactly why I loved it. BUT, the difference is that I did them the way I used to do jujitsu rolls, lo these many years ago. Actually it has been fifteen. I missed them, and I missed those classes! Gave up all my martial arts when my sensei left the area, and then with my travelling being unable to commit to regular practice ... Anyway, it was fun to have a chance to do it again. I modified most so that I could start and land on my feet! However, if you are not trained in back rolls you are right to be cautious. They are something you can learn with practice, and I'd recommend a thicker mat. Start low, even sitting, and don't go back any further than you are comfortable. You can even just rock back and forth for awhile. Learning these probably saved my life or at least a broken bone when I've had the occasional dump from a horse, and saved at least two of us from trampling about twenty years ago (that's something I ought to write up, one of these days).

Yesterday, disk 5. How could I have forgotten all of those pullups? But they went much better today - the first set, I was able to bang out my 12 ... well, not exactly bang them out. The last two were with teeth-gritting and a little wriggling. The next set was not so bad, got all but the last two during the first try ... then the last one I had to split into FOUR pieces.:eek::eek: Probably went a little too heavy on something in the middle. Doing that heavy-training rotation has gotten me focused on higher weights and I did not always resist the temptation to take it up a few notches.

((Hugs)) to Janie ...

And this was supposed to be short, oops! Off to work.

YEA!! I did M1D1W1! I am already a big believer in those 1RM's cause it is already pushing me harder than I would push myself. I felt like Michelle when she said she was like: "really????" although the weights were only up one than I would normally grab for say, the GS, but we are also doing 15 reps instead of 12 and those last 3 reps really were hard!:p I had to fight for them. As Cathe said in the workout though if you aren't fighting for it than it isn't really worth doing!!:rolleyes::eek::eek: My arms do feel like they are going to fall off...I did work only Upper Body in my Total Tone class last night so they were already a little sore....not ideal but got to work with what I can...

Shoegal: Haven't tried CC yet, but there are some of those rolling exercise in MMA Fusion. I definitely agree that modifying is a good idea, considering your back, until you feel more confident. Nothing wrong for not reaching for it if it doesn't work for you, gooodness knows there are so many other options in your DVD library, and I am all for doing what we like!:) Good job on the eats and Bo does that to me all the time, thinking he told me something when he hadn't.....;)

Shadowpup: those rolls are fun! I have added a few to my classes from time to time and people really enjoy them. Well I haven't done the ones in CC but in MMA fusion anyways. It is a good skill to have in your basket of tricks when you need it! It really could keep you from a BAD injury falling from a horse......oh and you are a manic on those pull-ups holly cow lady! You are an inspiration!

Hi to everyone else

Great job, Laura! Cathe really made me a believer on those 1RMs, too. Somehow knowing how much I 'should' be able to do made it easier to work hard! And boy does she know how to make us work hard ... There's a huge difference in a pound or a few reps when you are on the edge of what you're capable of doing, that's for sure.

I can see why your students love you :) Neat that you're using some of those rolls. Yes, definitely, having been taught to fall is really handy. Very fun to be able to practice it to a dvd now. There's just barely room!

And one day I WILL be doing TWENTY pullups in a row, in good form, no wriggling or funny faces. Not soon, maybe not this year, but I will do it some day ... and don't ask me why I want to, I just do :eek::eek:

Michelle, you were asking about the kids - yes, they are pretty shaggy! They were certainly itchy from the blankets. When I'm home, I take them off if the weather permits, so as to let them get a little air and sun on their hides. It's good for them. Often it is too cold or rainy, but I try. They've now been without blankets for three days, and everyone seems comfortable. Not riding weather ... it's about as dangerous as it ever has been out there, with ice forming as the snow melts and rain falls.

Today I did TRX Flexibility again. I'm really getting to love that one! It's an active rest day and what with all the sitting in front of a computer, the back/hip relaxation was quite welcome. Tomorrow it will be STS Legs :eek: Squats, lunges, deadlifts, oh my :eek:

Hi to Shoegal and ((Janie))!

Last night I told Rex he could not use the computer and did some 1RM testing if you can actually believe it. I had weights and steps and chairs and bands and mats scattered everywhere. I wondered if the exercises I had originally tested for needed to be retested so I did a bunch and they were relatively the same which I found amazing. I still made some mistakes - I would chose a smaller weight than I could handle - and knocked out far too many reps - so those exercises need to be retested again. I was pretty fatigued afterwards. I read in the manual about testing and I do have one question: Is this how many reps I can do and can't do anymore despite how slow I go? And then there is the issue with the one arm exercises - or alternating exercises - If I do an exercise on one side - do I do the other side - what if the reps are different - do I take an average or just assume I can lift the same on both sides? I sort of think it isn't that much different and in the long run it won't matter that much. Anyway - my arms are fried.

Laura - well congratulations on STS - yes, you know it is exciting - it is a journey and wow - I'd like to see where you end up at the end of 6 months. I'm excited for you so I guess I'm a geek as well. Anyway if we can't be excited here on the Cathe forum I don't where else it would be acceptable. You should keep a journal - and Michelle too - or write up a blog on SP or something to document the changes. I think I'll do the same.

Shadowpup - you don't need a reason to want to do 20 pull ups - it is just like asking someone why they want to climb a mountain or jump out of an airplane or any challenge. I truly believe you can do it - one day I'd like to be able to do just one!!!:eek: I don't know alot about horses - but I was told that if you didn't cover them in winter then they would grow a big hairy coat - if you did then they wouldn't. Is that right? I give you credit for climbing back onto a horse after falling off multiple times!!!

I am still working at putting away my decorations. I do it with a heavy heart and a burning desire to actually decorate some more. I am constantly making small changes around the house. This time I have uncovered my couches in the living room - which are usually covered over in all these throws - this is DH's idea to keep the girls from ruining them. I really don't like how that looks, I've never liked it - so this last party I uncovered the couches & put all their pillows back on it and have not recovered them as I usually do. So far Rex hasn't said anything - I suspect he thinks I just haven't gotten around to doing it - and since I think it would be a cold day in hell before he would do it himself - I might get away with it - this way. Otherwise we will have to have an unpleasant discussion about it.

Hope you all are well out there and I hope you have a good day.:)

Shoegal, sounds like quite a day! STS really does get heavy on the equipment - kind of amazing to have it all out for one workout. On the 1RMs, the main thing is to be consistent. Last year people were all over the place on how they decided to count. For the cases you're mentioning, what I chose to do is count the max number of reps I could do safely even if I went really slow - and stopped if it got to the point where I had to self-spot. I also used the maximum if my arms were different. Since you can always adjust, it doesn't make a huge difference ... you can always add a rep if the weight is a little light, and personally I find it motivating to have a weight that might be slightly out of reach on my workout sheets.

It must be so hard to take down all those pretty decorations, especially since you have even more new ones! Very hard to have to wait until the next decoration set.

Hey guys! So today I had a nice walk with my mom in the morning around 3 miles. Than tonight I did Shock Cardio Hiit 30/30. Man I was dogging it tonight, the warm up was killing me!:confused::eek: I did ski and do STS yesterday so I think my body was pretty tired to start. Those Hiits are very leg intensive, currently, I have it on my schedule to ski on Wed and than do a Hiit, starting next week. But after feeling how hard skiing worked my legs and how hard the Hiit worked my legs I am going to need to rearrange things!;):p

Shadowpup: I am so impressed with your pull-ups! I guess I will get a taste of that tomorrow! I have a pull up bar and I put one leg on a chair, a modification from P90X, which allows me to bang out some. My goal is to lose the chair. Losing the extra pounds would help a lot to! You are really getting my interest peaked with the TRX get up, that sounds like something I would like! Luckily I have committed myself to a 6 1/2 rotation and I have banned myself from buying anything until I am through with that!

Shoegal: You go girl! It is so hard to motivate for those 1RM's, I know! And I had all kinds of questions about the rep counts as well. Especially for the ones that are called 21's where you go half way up for 7, half way down for 7 and then 7 full range ones. Well it turns out in the workout she counts each time you move for a full 21. So I would count each movement as one. Hang in there and you will get them done. There is still some adjusting happening so don't get to caught up in getting it perfect!

Well - ended up going out to dinner with coworkers and I had a nice little salad and a sweet baked potato. The potato was really big though  - and I'm wondering about the glass and a half of wine I had. :( So when I got home there would be no workout. Again - upset about that - but generally if I have something to drink I don't do it despite feeling perfectly fine. So this got me to thinking - do any of you workout after drinking alcohol - doesn't matter what type or how much. I never do.

Laura - yes - Hiit is tough on the legs - I can imagine that skiing is too!! I did that Cardio Core Circuit on Monday and in the interim my calves started to talk to me!!! I feel them today. I appreciate your comment on how hard it is to motivate to do the 1RM - it makes me feel better and I'm more motivated now. (I will do some more testing tonight.) It sounded as if everyone just knocked those out . . . no problem. I was thinking that I probably shouldn't put all this thought into the testing - just get a basically good number and then adjust later. You aren't buying any more workouts or equipment until after STS??!??!?! What are you saying???!?!?!? ;) I get it though - except I don't have that much will power!!!:D:rolleyes:;) Speaking of which - I just bought Tracy Anderson's Mat workout. I actually asked for this for Christmas & didn't get it - so I gave it to myself.

Shadowpup - thanks for weighing in on the 1RM - I agree - consistency is the key with those - just actually doing them and how you do them. I do want them done now - I'm really just sick of having this hanging over my head. I feel like it is a research paper that is due for school and I can't get it done!!! what I need is a deadline - I'm good with that. TRX does actually sound like fun and you seem to have a very diverse collection of workouts in your library - many different types - variety is the spice of life.

Hi to Michelle!!! Hugs to Janie - hope you are alright.

Quick Post! Unfortunately I don't see how I can fit my STS workout in today! UGH! I will be on the run all day and then with my mom and kids. I don't think I can tell them I can't spend time with them cause I need to workout! Especially since the girls are staying with her during the week! I miss them already and I just saw them yesterday! So letting it go and will make it up on Monday, since it is MLK day and I don't have to teach my normal classes. Constitency over the long haul right? Not being a total Type A Nazi about the daily schedule RIGHT? OK deep breathe I am obviously trying to convince myself....I am just so jazzed to finally get going on this and week one I have to adjust!:(:mad:

Shoegal: Yea, it can hang you up trying to be perfect on those 1RM's and really just bang them out and don't worry about it to much. It will be god enough and you can adjust along the way. I NEVER exercise after drinking either. I think that could be a potential risk for injury even if you don't feel buzzed. I have a high tolerance for wine I often don't 'feel' it but I am sure my reflexes and body awareness are still affected. Also I don't think the workout would be as effective somehow....Like I am trying to convince myself today that it is ok to miss a workout here and there as long as the overall picture is consistency....

Congratulations Shoegal on being a Cathlete! Chalk another win up for Janie, too :)

Regarding alcohol, I rarely have any ... my vices are coffee and chocolate, and I work out after those :) But I would agree with you. Anything that compromises your balance would not be helpful before working out. Also, I've understood that alcohol is metabolised first, and would worry that a workout wouldn't be fueled as well. There's nothing wrong with a night off; rest is when you rebuild, right? :D

Shoegal, you and I are both on the same track. I caved too! Not on Tracy Anderson, but another Tracy; new Staehle Cardio Kickbox is getting rave reviews and I couldn't help myself when I learned that (a) there was free shipping (b) it didn't take up much space :eek::eek: Actually didn't want to help myself :eek::eek: You'd probably like TRX. It is a shame we are not all closer as this is the sort of thing it would be easier to show in person. Yes indeed, I do have a pretty diverse collection ... variety is fun!

Laura, enjoy your family time. That's important too. You work your body hard; it needs a chance to rest. Nice to know you get Monday off. We don't, sigh. But you can have double fun for me :) No guilt, now, just enjoy. You did double-duty with STS and skiing, and then Cardio Core is a toughie but fun.

Speaking of toughies, I did STS Legs yesterday evening, after doing TRX Back in the afternoon. Now, the idea there was that Back Biometrics would loosen up my back, and help my range of motion for STS Legs. That kind of worked as the TRX Back Biometrics exercises are starting to sink in, especially after doing Flexibility earlier .However ... Back Biometrics is deceptively hard. About a quarter of the way through Legs it was clear I was wearing out ... that was one tough workout. I had to pause twice in the middle to catch my breath, but still, made it all the way through.

Today I did MMA Boxing. Fun fun fun! I didn't do those situps at the end - they really do mess with my back. I've sworn them off forever, or until I get caught up in the heat of the moment and try them again, whichever comes first. Everything else in Boxing was fun and it was a nice calorie burner, plus loosener after yesterday.

Many ((hugs)) to Janie ... and Michelle, I hope you are continuing to have a wonderful time in that suite!!! Safe travels home - I imagine you're headed back soon.

Well - I've really failed at the Christmas pictures - and was unable to post to PictureTrail - it thought every picture was too big and wanted me to remove them all!!! I tried to add pictures to my profile page and it failed to upload any of them - how frustrating.:mad: I finally uploaded 12 christmas photos to my SP page. So please head over there and take a peek. I don't know if this will give you an idea of my decorating - I actually am unimpressed when I look at them myself. I tried to post a link but it didn't seem to work. I trust you know how to find me over there. But let me know what you think.

Did more 1RM testing last night!!!! I am doing them by disc - I find the exercise on line - check in the manual - and sometimes that exercise is not listed???!! I tested for it anyway since it was there. I decided not to test for anything with less than 3 stars. I did mainly back. Testing for deadlifts - I got a twinge in my back - and decided that I might be able to go on - but I'm not going to. I agree with you Shadowpup - I'm not going to do anything that might mess with my back. I've been feeling a little bit more pain in the area again and I just want to be safe.

Laura - I know it is probably disappointing that STS isn't going according to your planned schedule - but I think that you knew things would sometimes take precedence - and I think your reason is a good one. Just be consistent - like you said - and fit it in where necessary. Yes - don't be a Nazi about it - plus it is 6 months of it - you have the time to mix things up a little. I did want to ask your impression of the M1W1D1? Everyone seems to get such a thrill from the first workout.

Shadowpup - Well - at least I've got a partner in crime - and I've seen a lot of buzz about Tracy Staehle's new kickbox. I have been tempted to buy a couple step workout she has done. It was between Seasun Zieger or her - and I chose Seasun. I have to admit that I would like to give that workout another shot - I do like the choreography but I find Seasun a little dry. What is Tracy like?

Michelle - long trip!!! I do hope you are enjoying yourself though. How did you like TravelFit?

Janie - hope you are hanging in there - we are all think of you.

Well I ended up previewing the M1D2W1 this morning on my computer and then went to 24 hour fitness with my mom, I could go as her guest, and did the workout there. I am NOT a big fan of that place, but they do have very nice equipment and a LOT of it. So I did the workout there from my workout card. Not ideal, I like listening to Cathe's ques while I am working out, but at least I got it done this week. Yesterday was my rest day and today was my scheduled rest day so they just flipped-flopped.

Shadowpup: I had the same experience with MMA Boxing FUN! FUN! FUN! I don't know why it so fun but it is! Coffee and Chocolate are my two temptations, but I also have Red Wine as well! Oh dear...I better not think about them or I will want them! By the way I have been posting on SP Cathe Fan's STS thread and their Shock Cardio thread when I do one of those....so that is why you haven't seen me there.

Shoegal: Your pictures are amazing and know I UNDERSTAND what you were going through! That is a lot! I liked the first workout. It is different in style than the GS which I still love and kind of missed but I know this program will work over the long haul in a more focused way So I am excited!

Hi all,

Did TRX Flexibility today ... you know, I've never done physical therapy before, but I've heard it is exhausting. I have a feeling that these TRX Flexibility and Back workouts challenge my body more than I realized or than a calorie burn would indicate. They are 55 minutes and 45 minutes respectively, few breaks. I'm feeling more tired/sleepy than usual this week, and I can also feel (good) changes in my back, posture, and hips. Laura, do you ever find that your pilates or yoga students feel this way when they first start?

Anyway, rather than doing Flexibility plus another workout today, I decided to stop with one.

Shoegal, loved your Christmas pictures! You are probably not impressed because things look even more wonderful in person! But I agree with Laura. These are gorgeous. BTW, I'll have to let you know about 'my' Tracy; I haven't worked out with her before. This was sheer - giving in to the buzz. Yes, I did  Well, and giving in to the desire for a really good/intense kickbox dvd. MMA kickbox is supposed to be fun but for light days.

On your back, that's smart. I used to feel badly about modifying, as though I was wimping out. But it seems more sensible to replace something that seems dangerous with a safer alternative which still gets at the overall goal. Deadlifts are wonderful and I love them - but not everyone should do them and there are other ways to work your back/glutes/hamstrings. You can always pick some alternative and sub it in whenever Cathe does deadlifts, or go with light weights only. I think Janie does this.

Laura, I will have to check into those other Cathe threads to see how thigns are going for you. I've gotten in the habit of sticking mostly with just that other one and here, plus putting in a little time on the Q&A message boards. Isn't it interesting how some workouts just seem to click? That Boxing one is my second favorite so far (Cardio Core edges it out just slightly because of the rollups). Next Shock Cardio will probably be MMA Fusion, as I'm intensely curious about that one. It's impressive that you were able to do a full STS from the workout sheet, and very determined of you. Great job!

Hi to Michelle, guessing you are back this weekend ...

((Hugs)) Janie, and hope you are doing well in Vegas!

Hi everybody. I actually got back late Wednesday night but have been busy getting back into the normal routine. I did STS disk 6, legs, on Thursday and disk 7, Chest, shoulders, and biceps, today. I was still feeling my glutes this morning until I started on disk 7 and then the soreness magically migrated to my upper body. The STS leg disks really get me in the gotchya that is for sure. Glad to see that Shoegal is diligently working on her 1RMs and that Laura has gotten started with STS. Tomorrow I'm going to give Step Moves another try for my cardio.

New Orleans was a busy trip. Really good conference and now I have a trip report to write up for the General. Add that to the list of things to do. Ugh. Second night there, 6 of us went to Emeril's for dinner. I had a fantastic double-cut pork chop that was so beautifully plated, the LtCol sitting next to me took a picture of it. It tasted really good too. The suite was great and I had plenty of room to do travel fit. It struck me as one of those workouts that sneaks up on you. It's not a real intense workout, but you feel like you get a good, total body workout. Lots of leg work that really works those glutes and inner thighs.

The weather has been pretty good since I returned home--in the 50s during the day. The snow is pretty much gone and as long as the thermometer doesn't dip under 25 degrees, Ripken and I are back to our 2 mile walk in the morning which is nice.

I've been thinking about Janie from time to time--wondering how she is doing. Hoping she will be back with us soon.

Michelle, welcome back! Isn't it amazing how Cathe has such a way of 'curing' soreness :p:p:p It never stays in the place it starts when you work out with her. :D:D:D How did you find New Orleans as a city? How much have things recovered there? And very glad to have your Travel Fit report - one to look forward to :) It's a gorgeous day here too, and I'm looking forward to spending a little time outdoors with the sun. Chilly in comparison - we may hit 50, though, which is a heat wave this time of year.

I also did STS 7 yesterday, and have to admit I was dragging. It may be because the TRX is helping me gradually rebalance my body. Since I can feel my upper back better now (I don't know how else to put it), I'm more able to keep it from being dragged in when it''s supposed to be shoulders that are working. That would explain why in some sets I went up, and others I slipped a bit from last week. Time will tell. Pushups are definitely getting better! Not so much tendency to curve, and I'm ... barely, sometimes ... able to finish out all of the sets on my toes. But I had forgotten about all those 21s. Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch!

Hi to Janie, Laura, and Shoegal!

Shadowpup: I think New Orleans is still struggling. Mind you, I was in the business district and that area is good to go. But you get away from the French Quarter and downtown area and it is still not good. Crime is very high in the city. Tuesday they had 6 murders in broad daylight. Apparently this is not unusual. Tourists/visitors/residents are urged to travel in groups--the bigger the group, the better. I'm not a city girl and take my personal safety extremely seriously, so the second night that we went to dinner, I was sure to have more Marines in our group. Just call me risk adverse. It wasn't that far to walk to Emeril's from the hotel and it was a nice neighborhood, but as far as I'm concerned, you can never be too safe.

Raining here in Virginia today, but the temps are in the low 40s, so it is all rain. Thank goodness. Did Step Moves this morning and I mistakenly did that one-two-three move in the 3rd segment correctly a couple of times. I'll just keep pushing through until it clicks. Also did Pilates Abs from Abs Circuits. That was a really good ab routine. I will definitely do it again. Sister tried that one today too and had a struggle with the mermaid move at the end. I'm an old Martha Graham technique dancer, so the mermaid move seemed pretty intuitive to my body. Throw in a big furry dog who wants "to help" and you've got a great ab workout.

Shoegal: to answer your alcohol question: no exercise after alcohol--ever. But then I exercise in the morning, so I don't have to worry if I have a cocktail in the evening.

Laura: how is STS going? Just stick with it and don't worry if you don't stick to the rotation perfectly. Better to do the workouts when you can than to get discouraged because life doesn't always mesh with the rotation.

Sending ((((HUGS)))) and support to Janie. We are thinking of you everyday.

Hi! Just finished the Disc 3 Legs! That's a winner! I loved the flow of this workout. I really liked the lunges with the plates. There were a few moves similar to the Leg workout on P90X, such as the wall squats, the one touch down squats, one legged elevated lunges, front/back fan kicks, but of course Cathe adds her own unique counts and bonuses which make them harder! I was sweating and my heart rate was elevated for sure on this workout. Than I did Ab Circuits Pilates based Abs.

Michelle: welcome back! Glad your trip went well. I agree it is better to be safe than sorry! That is to bad, the murders, that certainly won't help them out with tourism which seems to be a big part of that city's financial life force. I will have to go with the flow a little bit with this rotation and I am glad to be doing the 6 1/2 month because I am looking forward to doing each disc twice before moving on. Than if I absolutely can't fit one in one week I can make it up the next week. My pilates teacher, Ron Fletcher, was a Martha Graham principal dancer and he has developed his own floor work that has a lot of basic Martha Graham techniques in it, which I really love to do. I also love those mermaids.

Shoegal: I absolutely agree that pilates/yoga and other techniques that really work on posture and moving your body differently have profound effects on your body, the way you move, flexibility and even strength. This is hard for some people. I have had people say things to me like pilates/yoga "don't burn enough calories" so they don't do them. All they care about is their calorie burn but the benefits from these techniques are so profound and can prevent injures and allow you to work harder and more effectively in all your other exercises and life in general. I know amazingly flexible and strong people who are still teaching Pilates in their 80's who can move with better control and precision than 20 year olds. Their mobility and strength is astounding. And I am sure that is true for yoga as well. Now who wouldn't want that??!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi to Shoegal and love to Janie!

Oh PS I lost 5 more lbs!

Laura, congratulations on the five pounds! That's good news - and you've certainly worked hard for it. Very glad you're enjoying Legs. Those to me are usually the hardest days, and most beneficial, of the whole series. The first time through I also did it on the six month plan for all of Meso 1, though in Meso 2 I found it worked better to cut that in half. But the first time, it was a comfort to know there would be two shots at each weight :)

On the effects of pilates and yoga - thanks!!! I was pretty sure I wasn't overtraining, imagining things, or coming down with a cold :) I can feel all kinds of tiny readjustments in my upper back and hips especially from using the newer TRX dvds. Already I can see positive changes in my mobility; my power/jump kicks were so much higher today! And I am having a much easier time with anything involving a trunk rotation or high step, too, like tuck jumps from Cathe and high steps in Insanity. When you get a client who finds the adjustment difficult, do you usually suggest they add more rest days ... ? My instinct is to keep the TRX mobility/flexibility sessions at two or three a week for awhile, and lower the intensity of one cardio day so it is more of an active rest day.

As to the lowering of intensity, that's hard :) My new Tracey Staehle Cardio Kickbox Challenge came! I did go for the 40 minute premix, and regretted that a little, because the workout is SO MUCH FUN. It ended too fast.

Shoegal, you asked me about Tracey Staehle. This is my first of hers. The workout reminds me of a combination of Mindy/Cathe enthusiasm and Ilaria kickbox form. The moves are straightforward. This one is between MMA Boxing and Ilaria. Calorie burn was about the level of Cardio Core or MMA Boxing. More kicks, in the 40 minute premix, including quite a few jump kicks. It does not take up too much floor space.

Michelle, it's a shame that New Orleans is still struggling. Have to say so far I haven't heard anything that would draw me there unless I had to go. It's nice when you're meeting with military folk in circumstances like that, isn't it - having marines for protection is a handy thing! Poor Ripkin, all that rain, but at least he got to 'help' with the workout :)

Hi to Janie! Hope you're having a wonderful and healing time.

Hi my friends,

I finally got back home. It's late this Sunday evening, but just wanted you all to know I'm safe, and sound.

Will get a good nights rest and tell you all about it tomorrow.

I just barely read some posts and you are all so sweet to continually wonder how I'm doing.

Will get you all caught up tomorrow. I also need to go back where I left off and read all your posts. I can't wait to read how all of you have been doing.

See yas later,

Janie
