Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

I found Cathe on FitTV too!! I was disappointed when they stopped doing that.

This morning was my shortened workout day- I only have a half hour. So I did the first 30 minutes of RWH upper body circuit. Maybe not the best choice because I had worked upper body yesterday but I love that workout. Only problem was I so badly wanted to finish!! I had to quit at the marching sumos. 30 minutes just feels so short for a workout- but I guess better than nothing!!

Good morning,

Today I did Amy Dixon Women's Heath Total Body workout in Ten = 39 min. I had that dvd for a few years, it was my first time doing it :( I have to say it was a pretty good TB workout. It's also a good travel workout! I also did ICE Rock'n & Sack'n Bonus workouts: Blizzard Blast (should have looked at my notes, I already did that workout on 13 Jan, 2016!) = 14 min + Muscle Meltdown triceps = 14 min + ICY Core # 1 = 11 min. That it for me today!

I also found Cathe on FitTV. I miss FitTV and Exercise TV.

Diane Sue - I am so sorry to hear your shoulder/ neck is still bordering you. Hope you feel better.

Doreen - good job on 30 minutes of RWH upper body circuit this morning.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. I will be back tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and workout.

Today I did Xtrain legs with the barre added minutes and did 15 minutes of yoga and stretching. It was not a big calorie burner and I kept the weights at Cathe's. There is not a lot of weight work in this anyway. I used it a lot when rehabilitating my knee. My shoulder is less painful this morning. I can't sleep on it though.

Doreen, I miss fit too. I enjoy upper body circuit too. I am sure the workout was plenty even though you had to shorten it.

Belinda, I don't think I have any workout that I have not done at least once. That's great that you found it was a good one.

Diane Sue, that is amazing you don't have any workouts that you have not done at least once. I have admit, I have tons of dvd's have have not done yet. It's a shame! I am trying to work through all my workouts. In one of my other check ins, a friend reminded me of KB Scorcher and Lean Body:p I totally forgot I own all of the KB workouts, lol. Go figure, I have so many workout dvd's I can't even remember. I am slowly working my way through all the dvd's. I haven't even put a dent in my huge collection of workout dvd's. WTG, on XTrain Legs today.

PS. My interlibrary loan is Seasun's Straight up Step. That wasn't too coordinated on my part to request two at once and have them come in so close together!

Hi, I can't walk outside today...it's raining and very windy :( I did an indoor walk instead. I did Jessica Smith Walking for Weight Loss, Wellness & Energy - High Energy Walk + 30 min + Power Walk = 30 min.

Doreen, that's funny :) Have fun.

That's it for me today :) Have a great day, everyone.

DOMS is still with me, but I think it is better. Hopefully it will be gone by tomorrow. Today I did all five segments of Element 5 day yoga. I was going to do something else today, but I was up from 2 to 6 this morning fixing my husbands computer. He runs a business from home and Windows crashed. I'm his tech support, haha, lucky me.

Doreen, good job on RWH. Let us know how you like straight up step. I've been reviewing z-step.

Diane Sue, I hope you keep seeing improvement on your neck/shoulder.

Belinda, I also have workouts that I have not done. Mainly because I have found DVD's at goodwill. I've gotten a lot cheap there. I have a problem with passing up like new DVDs for a buck.

Doreen, I think that I mentioned that I still have Straight Up Step. It is easier than some of her other ones. I couldn't imagine learning the choreography on two different ones. It takes me a few uses :)

Laura, the shoulder and neck is better today. I haven't had to take any Advil which makes me happy. I have been trying to hold out on that till bed time if possible anyway. I think if I lay off of it it will continue to improve. I did put in Piyo Define legs for a bit but forgot she does push ups in it. That hurts so I stopped.

Good morning,

I am done with XTrain Premix #2 Low Impact HiiT + Burn Set Chest - 53:06 plus Leslie Samson - 4 Mile Power Walk #3 : 2 Mile Power Walk Express = 30 min. That dvd has 3 workouts: 1# 4 Mile Power Walk which I did on Nov 16, 2015, 2# 2 Mile Classic Walk which I did Nov 27, 20115 and #3 2 Mile Power Walk with I did today. I finished another dvd:D I am also working on next weeks workouts, will post them once I figured out.

Diane Sue, glad you starting to feel better. Please, be careful. Next week my plan is to do a few Tracie Longs workouts, they are listed a Metabolic workouts. How many of those workouts can I do? Can I mix Xtrain into the mix the day after? I'll be honest, metabolic workouts remind me of circuit workouts. Help :)

Waving Hi to Laure and Dorren.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great Friday, everyone.

I am waiting at the car wash. I think I must have run over a dead skunk yesterday. I could smell it all over the house. This morning I did a workout I had not done in years. Bosu blast with Season Zinger and I also did the abs and stretch from Sharon Twombly on the same workout. I actually got the HR up to 167. This was 79 minutes 581 calories. Be back later when I can use the computer.

Belinda, I always feel like the metabolic workouts are like weight circuits. They do a lot of that back to back with the heavier days in Hammer and Chisel. I did a rotation of Cathe's awhile back that used a lot of the Low Impact Series and there were back to back weight days.

Today I did yesterday's Cathe Live Get Steppin'. Really enjoyed it as it was just straight steady state cardio step, no blasts. Then later I did Element power yoga. Still have DOMS in my hamstrings. But it is getting better.

Belinda, good job on finishing another DVD. I would think it would depend on how heavy you are lifting. I know with me, I usually am lighter on weights with metabolic. But on circuits I am usually heavier.

Diane Sue, sorry about the skunk. Ick. Good job on the HR today. Hope your shoulder is still improving.

Thanks for your input, Diane Sue :) I really appreciate it. I guess, that makes sense? Why not :) I think, i will see how it goes next week. I am trying to mix more of my dvd's in the mix.

Hi to everyone.

Thanks you, Laura :) I really appreciate it! I don't Tracie is lifting very heavy in her dvd's, so I think I am gonna be ok :) I also go a little lighter with metabolic workouts. XTrain I go heavy. I miss the steady state cardio, those where the good old day's :) Keep stretching your hamstrings.

Belinda, you should be able to tell if something is too much. Some of the people on Beachbody doing Hammer and Chisel had mentioned feeling the need to maybe do Chisel lighter and Hammer Heavier since most of these are done Hammer then Chisel then Hammer. The thing is though, I liked some of the Chisel workouts like Total Body Chisel for heavy days.

Laura, when I first started Hammer and Chisel it seemed like I had doms in my legs almost every day for awhile. It hits the legs a lot. I would think the cardio and yoga would help with that. My shoulder is much better today :)

I know I always get confused with circuit vs metabolic workouts. I guess sometimes they are metabolic circuits, sometimes not? I really just go with how I feel. The stronger I've gotten the easier it seems to be to have metabolic work follow weight days without issue. I wouldn't line up a whole week of back to back weights. That would probably kill me. Someone else could probably do it.

Last night I did Ruthless "Pure Willpower" and this morning I worked on deadlifts followed by some yoga stretching.

This morning I had a little fun with the store clerk at the local thrift store. A couple heavy hex dumbells showed up mid-week, 35# and 40# and Saturdays everything is 50% off. So I checked back in this morning to see if they were still there. They were. So I took them up to checkout.
"Wow! How heavy are those" Middle aged lady clerk
"40 pounds, 35 pounds" pointing
"Are those for you?!?"
"Yup"
"Can you lift them?"
"Yup"
"Really? That's so cool"
She rings them up then tries to pick one off the counter- no luck.
"You can really lift them?" (clerk again)
"Yup" (Did she not see me pick them up and put them on her counter?) I pick them up and put them back into the cart resisting the urge to just farmer walk them out of the store.
"Wow! That's so cool. Have fun!"

Doreen, that is funny. I guess she was in so much shock that you could lift them she didn't think about how you got them to check out. I had some guy at Walmart act like he could barely lift a 12# dumbbell once and I thought what a nut he was. Now what you picked up was impressive. You got a great deal too.

Today I did X Train Cardio Legs Strength only mix, Great Glutes bonus chair doing the calves twice and adding the stretch, and finishing with 4 Day Split lower intensity step, step only mix. My workout was 93 minutes, 513 calories. We are having a double birthday party in a couple of hours. I spent most of yesterday cleaning and making cakes and hummus. I am just picking up brisket and smoked chicken from Billy Sims. I didn't feel like doing that much cooking.

Today I did Terminator IMAX. Then went for a nice walk with hubby (as it is in the 50's here in Chicago). Then did Piyo upper and lower define. Let's see how my DOMS are tomorrow! I keep saying to myself that I am master of my DOMS (I know, bad Seinfield joke).

Doreen, great job on the thrift store. Funny about the comments. I've had the same kind of comments, but usually from men.

Diane Sue, great leg day. Your menu sounds really yummy. Wish I was there!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks Diane! I had no idea H+G is mostly weights? I will see how I feel. Would you recommend H&G?
