KK's August Check In

Good Morning!

We have a beautiful rainy day here today! So glad to have it -- we need the rain. Last night we had heavy winds and so I really welcome the rain.

It was the 46 minute premix from Drill Max for me today -- 8 intervals, which was great. I like that workout for an anaerobics workout. Don't know what I'm planning on doing tonight, but I'm sure I'll keep doing the cardio. If for no other reason than it does seem to help keep the weight in check, at least.

I like to check in early on Friday because Jeanette and Rhea don't usually check in on the weekend, and I want to be sure to say have a super weekend to you both.

Jeanette, don't you just love the Supersets and Push/Pull workouts? Outside of ME, they are my favorite strength DVD's. That golf lesson sounds fascinating. Improving your skills is even better. Actually I have never stopped the juice feasting. I really crave it now, which is good I guess, cause it's a bit of a hassel to fix. I probably need to up how much I drink of it a day and maybe then I'll start losing weight again. It means a bit more of a hassel fixing it per day, but probably no more than 15 minutes to 1/2 hour more. I can probably fit that in.:p

Hi Rhea & Mandy & Janie & Tammy!

Hope you all have a super day today -- some great workouts and a terrific weekend.:D

Good morning!

Just a quick post before I'm off to court for the day. I'll be glad when it is over. I need to do more trials so it becomes old hat for me and not so stressful. I tend to get over worked about it and can't relax (why I actually have to drug myself to sleep on trial nights, otherwise, my mind would be keeping me awake. Even then I still wake up at 4:30 with the mind already ahead of me. Karen and Jeanette can tell you. I am nooooot a morning person.)

So, I should sleep good tonight. I'm supposed have a massage this afternoon. The trial should be done by noon and they should be back with a verdict before 3:30. There are not many issues they have to discuss. I really need the massage. My legs were a little fried after last night's workout. They had that low throb when when I went to bed last night.

Okay, back to work. Have a great day everyone!

KK, hang in there. Sometimes our bodies just wont' let go of that last 1-5 pounds.:( I still don't know why? Just keep plugging away and the weight eventually comes off.

Jeanette, Supersets and Push Pull are good substitutes for Pure Strength. Way to Go!:D

Rhea, Do you have a link to go to "Still Jumpin"? I'd like to take a look at it. I'm not a morning person either. I find myself reliving the day or thinking even about things 3 months from now. As a consequence I get insomnia. Isn't it awful? Try to get some rest, meditation, warm milk...

Tammy, I'm glad to see you preorder STS. I don't think you can go wrong on those. I can't wait for them to get here.

Mandy, Running 3 miles everyday is so wonderfu and weight lifting also. You must be in great shape. Good for you!

Continue on your healthy journy and "Don't worry, be happy".;)

Janie

Rhea: I hope your trial goes well and you get it wrapped up. Hope that verdict comes in so you can be done and relax some. It's a good thing I didn't become a lawyer. I don't think I could take the stress. Massage sounds like a great treat!

Jeanette: Wow, 6 years of dressage. I bet you have an awesome seat. I think every horse/rider can benefit from it to increase flexibility and suppleness. I've been taking some lessons from a really good rider here and she is sneaking in some basic dressage stuff....which I need. My seat has improved dramatically. Hey, as long as you still have everything, you haven't closed the door on getting another horse someday.

Janie: I could use some of your housecleaning inspiration. My daughter and son-in-law are supposed to be here next week and I just have no interest in getting it in gear and getting things done. Ugh.

Mandy: Wow, 3 miles is pretty dang good. I despise running (did too much forced running when I was younger) but I know some people really love it. You must be getting back into awesome shape!

KK: Don't give up. Just keep on keepin' on and I know that stubborn weight will come off. Hey, pass some of that rain off to us. It's getting pretty dry up in these parts. We could use it. I agree with you; I love ME. Hummm, it's about time to do it again.

Well, I did Muscle Max yesterday. I rode for about an hour this morning and am hoping to get Low Max done this evening.

Have a good day/weekend everyone!

Tammy

Wow, found us all the way on page three. Not usually here on the weekend, but was filling out applications on the web and so I decided to pop in....

Thank goodness trial is over...guilty verdicts, oh well, I knew that was coming. Still one of these days I'd like to have a better chance at winning.

Didn't do much yesterday, just too pooped. So today I did Dance Fit again, gee surprise. That workout is just so fun, it is hard not to put it in. Janie, Still Jumpin is on the Fantastic Four DVD. You should be able to see it at www.taylorfitness.com I think that is her website.

I read about some Amy Bento...I might have to check it out. Not that I need any more workout videos. I don't do all the ones I have. I bet, if I tried to do on DVD a day, I could probably not do the same workout for two months, at least. Eww, that's pretty bad, huh?

Tammy - I hate running too. I make myself do it every once in a while and I have to have the ipod or the tv going, otherwise I'm bored to tears. Did you get any housework done? I'm procrastinating on that too. Poor fish tank really needs to be cleaned, but I just don't have the urge. Did too much yardwork this weekend, so don't want to do anything more.

Mandy - that's so good that you are getting right back into it.

Karen - how's it going? Still raining? That weight will come off before you know it. I have not had the courage to even weight myself lately. but I know it is still there. Yuck.

Jeanette - did you golf this weekend? I really should make some time to get out there, but by the time I get all the chores done, there is not much time left in the day. This house/yard is a lot to take care of by myself. DH doesn't get to come home on the weekends yet.

Well, I had better hop in the shower and then get my laundry done or I won't have any undies to wear next week...eeek....:cool:

Good Evening!

Rhea, so sorry those guilty verdicts came in. :( Sometimes it just seems more and more like a person is guilty and has to prove their innocence -- like the IRS or something... Would be so hard not to stress. So, how was the massage? Yes, it's on my "to get" list. And it's not even all that expensive, thank goodness.

Today was KPC premix -- the 37 minute cardio premix -- good workout -- nothing on tonight -- got home too late to really get in there and exercise.

Well, my neighbor's boy here broke one of my car windows and so I have one less car window right now. He's telling me he's going to get it fixed and he has friends who will do it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but if it's not done in a reasonable time, I'll get estimates and go from there. Geez! If it's not one thing, it's another...

Janie, I love those graphics. How's the book coming along? And how's the hubby?

Tammy,a one hour ride sounds lovely, actually and you did Muscal Max to boot. The whole thing? Usually I do the premix on that only cause it's too hard for me to get more than an hour to workout. Yes, I love ME. It's just fun, isn't it?

Hi Jeanette & Mandy! Hope your weekends were great.

Okay, so I just want to go over the plan exercise wise for the week ahead.

Mon: 4DS HIS
Tues: 4DS LIS
Wed: Some nice cardio & Stretch
Thurs: 4DS Boot Camp
Fri: 4DS Kickbox
Sat: Cardio/Anaerobics from Drill Max
Sun: Off

So Dance Fit is the name of it? I gotta go preview it again. Have a super day everyone!:D

Good morning,
Hope everyone had a good weekend. DH and I went to Reno and bought the pavers for our project. Weighed about 9000#! We made it home okay and a friend brought his big backhoe over and unloaded them for us. Thank goodness or I'd still be there. Planning on camping this weekend so will have to wait until the following weekend to finish as we have to rent a compactor. Sunday we went on a nice 4-wheeler ride with some friends. I finished off the day with 9 holes of golf. So peaceful on the course in the late evenings. Beautiful.

Today's workout was biceps and back from Supersets and Push Pull. Finished off with about 10 minutes of good stretching for my back and hamstrings.

Karen, how in the world did your window get broken. Hope it gets fixed correctly. How's the juicing going? Give Georgie a scratch for me.

Rhea, sorry about the guilty verdicts. Guess that wasn't what you wanted. When you move, will you be working for the county or will you be doing something different? Sorry you haven't had time to play golf. I'll be playing with the ladies tonite. Gonna give that a try and hope I have fun and not get frustrated.

Tammy, MM is a great workout! Works me good every time. Don't think I'll ever get another horse as I've got other activities now that keep me busy. They are sooooo expensive now to feed. Hay is over $200 a ton here in California.

Janie, how's the writing going? Glad you are resting your body and giving it every chance to heal. Thanks for being on here to cheer us on. Believe me, it helps. Love your perspective on health and exercise.

Good morning!

Glad to see everyone health and happy on this Monday am.

Not sure what I will do for a workout today. I think I'm leaning towards Leaner Legs....I just remember calling it meaner legs, so. I need to get some weight workouts in before Weds. I'm leaving for Foster City either Weds or Thursday morning. It will actually depend on how much watering I can get done. My yard seems to keep drying up and I can't keep up with it.

Forgot to tell you, part of yesterday's workout was picking grapes off our grape vines (which are overhead) for about two hours. I remembered last night when my neck, shoulders and upper back tightened up in bed and gave me a good headache. I ended up having to take a muscle relaxant so I could sleep. Now I'm sleepy this morning.

Well, I better get to work. I'll be back later!

Good mornin,

I'm trying really hard to figure out what posts are newer and what are older. I'm not understanding today. Sometimes the post numbers get so long. I pressed on the last page, but shoot.

Rhea, I do have all of Christy Taylor (except the dancing one). I now know which one you are talking about. I love those workouts! I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time with the trials. (((((HUGGGGGS to you))))):) I have grapes growing but they seem to never get to their peek before the rainy and cold weather comes. Sometimes I may have about 5-10 of them though. LOL! Take care of yourself, I know about upper back tightness. OUCH. Hope the headache went away.

Everyone else, I'll get my act together and try again later today. I'm going to go in and try to make it read only 10 posts or less on a page and see if that wouldn't work better for me.

I've been writing all weekend. Probably eight hours day. It's really coming together. Thanks for all your encouragements.;)

I'm back and with only 5 posts showing. I had 40 posts per page. It got really confusing.

KK, The book is coming very well, and my husband, he's not exercising without me. So he is tightening up more than usual. He has gained about 5 pounds as well as me. DARN! Wish he would continue without me. Like your workouts for this week. Wow. I finely figured out how to put my avatar/graphics back on. Sure hoping those boys do you right. Let us know how it goes.

Jeanette, Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend. Got to get the fun factor in there. That's a must! How long will it take to get the pavers in place? Are they slabs of concrete???

Hi Tammy and Mandy, hope things are fine.

Janie

Good Afternoon!

Hi!

Sounds like you all had a good weekend. Sorry about your headache, though, Rhea.

Today was 4DS -- HIS -- however, I can't believe how much I was interrupted. First one neighbor whose phone went out -- she interrupted me 4 times. And her sister interrupted me twice on the phone. Then the fellow below me called -- I'd called him -- and we settled on me taking the car into a auto place to have it done. Finally I got the workout done, but I skipped set #5, cause all in all it took me 2 hours to complete it.

And I have sad, sad news. Sad news. We lost one of our cats. He passed away last night in my husband's arms. His name was Sammy and he was my cat. But his health hasn't been good for 8 years. He was 12 years old but when he was 4, he was bitten by another cat and got feline AIDS and he was in and out of the Vets office at least 3-5 times a year. Before he died, my husband told me what was going on and I talked to him over the phone to tell him how much I loved him, thanked him for his friendship and companionship and told him I wished I were there.

So no wonder my morning was odd. (I didn't learn this until about 11:30 this morning.)

Anyway, Jeanette, that is incredible -- 9000 lbs? I can't even imagine -- and you're having to get it home -- you actually got it home. Wow! So glad that golf was peaceful and relaxing.

Rhea, have fun in Foster City -- I know you will. Again, sorry about the headache -- but aren't those grapes good?

Janie, am glad you're making progress on your book. You won't believe this -- but for the first time in my entire career, my editor has NO revisions for me to do. Goodness! NO revisions. I can hardly believe it. Anyway, this is good news. I do love your graphics.

Hi Tammy and Mandy. Hope all is going well with you.

Have a super day everyone!:)

Good morning,
Today was 4DS LIS (all of it except for calves). Have a nice little warmth in my shoulders. Tonite is golf with the ladies at the golf club. I think it is their last time for the season, but I'm going to join them anyway. Hope I have fun. My friend assures me it's pretty laid back. Got a few errands done after work yesterday, one of which was getting the oil changed in my car. Also getting ready to go camping this weekend.

Karen, (((hugs))) on the loss of your cat. So hard when you lose them, they are so special to us. I dislike those interrupted workouts, but you made it thru.

Janie, I'm a big fan of Christi Taylor's workouts too. I can see myself growing older with those as they have less impact, which I'm getting to dislike more and more. Sending healing vibes to you. So glad you are getting all that writing done. Whew, my mind would be weary at the end of the day. The pavers are actually made of concrete, but look like cobblestones (ours are flat). Ours are the Naples color shown here: http://www.basalitehardscapes.com/vGallery.aspx?ID=7&q=Color

Rhea, Meaner Legs has some dread for me. All that barbell work if I remember right. Know you made it thru okay.

Hi Tammy and Mandy,

Good morning!

I didn't do Leaner Legs. I did 4DS Kickbox instead! I did skip a couple of the leg workouts (leg press and the lunges) since for some reason that bothers my calf....I think it is becaus you have to have that back leg on the toes so much.

Jeanette - have fun tonight. It will be laid back. I haven't been able to play but once this year. Say hi to everyone for me. They probably thought I've dropped off the face of the earth. I'd try and play tonight, but I'm trying to leave for the city tomorrow. Too much to do. I have to pack the car with all the stuff DH wants, pack myself, fix the bad sprinkler....yadayadayada.

Well, I had better get to work. Making that list just rminded me of what I need to do here at the office. Yikes.

Have a great day everyone!

KK, I so like the 4DS. Sorry you were interrupted so often. That had to have been frustrated. Dear little Sammy, I feel your loss.:( Glad to see you said your good-bys to him. He won't be suffering anymore sickness from feline aids, and if you believe in life after death you know he is in a better place. No Revisions on your book? That's wonderfull. You really know your stuff by now. That is good news.:D Take care and enjoy your workouts without interruptions.

Rhea, Sounds like you did great with the 4DS Kickbox routine even though it bothered your calf. It's a good workout. Are you still so very busy?

Jeanette, have fun golfing with the ladies, and camping this coming weekend. Where are you planning to go? Thank you for sending me a link about the pavers. I love the color you picked out. You did great on your workouts with 4DS.

Wrote for 7 hours yesterday and my hubby did some editing. We work well together.

Janie

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't had a chance to drop by. Things have just been super crazy in my life. However, we GOT the HOT TUB in. OMG, that thing is just awesome. We've been jumping in it every night. The contractors showed up to do the deck so they have been working for 2 days but now we are supposed to have rain. We really need it so I'm not too bummed about that. Our daughter and SIL will be here tomorrow and will stay until Monday. I haven't gotten a workout in since Sunday (did The Viper). I have a feeling the next week or so it is going to be rough. I normally do them in the mornings but it's just too wierd with a crew of men working right outside my windows. I'm hoping to squeeze in Step Blast after I finish taking care of the horses tonight.

KK - I was sorry to hear about your cat. At least, he had a life full of love. They are such individuals, aren't they? Wow, no revisions, YAY FOR YOU!

Janie - Hang in there. Hope you are healing superspeed. Sounds like you are getting a lot accomplished though.

Jeanette - When I get the chance I need to check out your pavers. I need some good ideas for landscaping around the house. I haven't tried Christi Taylor. I'll have to check her out. I hear you about impact. I love high impact but I think my knees are starting to not like it as well. Hope golf is wonderful. My aunt and uncle belong to a country club and just love it. They play lots and lots, weather permitting.

Hi to Rhea and Mandy!

Tammy

Good Evening!

Hi! It was 4DS LIS for me today, too, Jeanette. I did the calves, but skipped the second half of them. Constant interruption today, as well. And tonight, as well. My neighbors locked themselves out. But that's okay. They're all good neighbors and I eventually got the workout in.

Weight it up. Goodness how I fight that. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Yes, I do believe in life after death and so I am certain Sammy is in a better place. And it's true that at least he doesn't have the pain anymore. We will miss him. Luckily the other cats are keeping us company.

Jeanette, I tried and tried to pull up that link, but my laptop (and it's dial up) couldn't do it -- but I bet it's really something. Hope you had fun tonight with the golf. And camping sounds wonderful!

Rhea, have fun with your DH and everything else -- especially the few days off. 4DS Kickbox is a terrific workout! Glad to see also that you're taking care with that calf muscle. Have a great time,

Janie, wow! You wrote 7 hours. I bet that book is almost finished. That's really something. Yes, in all of my career, I've never not had revisions and so this is a pleasant first. Hope I can do it again. Love your graphics.

Tammy, that hot tub sounds awfully relaxing and fun. I think I'd be self-conscious working out in front of a place where men could see me, as well. Don't blame you for putting it on hold. Have a great time with your daughter and SIL.

Hi Mandy!

Well, have a super day everyone and some terrific workouts!:)

Good morning,
Today was Imax, all of it plus the stretch. May try to get a bike ride in after work, but need to load the trailer in prep for camping after work tomorrow. Had a blast golfing with the ladies last night! Really fun!

Karen, sorry you couldn't bring up the paver link. Think DS will come over from Reno to help us lay them, which will be a big help. Glad you have some good neighbors around you. Did you get your car window fixed yet?

Tammy, bet you are really enjoying that hot tub!!! Don't worry about the workouts if things get crazy. I know I stayed fairly fit just taking care of horses. Wow, the Viper! Been a little while since I've done that one, but I love all of those on the Terminator DVD. What is your deck made of? We're hoping to replace ours next year, probably with Trex as we are a no-maintenance kind of couple around here. Too many other fun things to spend time on.

Janie, big day of writing for you yesterday. Nice that your DH can edit. We are camping about 20 minutes drive from here. Big trip, huh? It's just nice to get away.

Rhea, I had a really fun time golfing last night with the ladies. Golfed with Cindy Gatie and Mary Jo Norris. Nice beverages along the way too;). I'm definitely going to play Ladies night next year. Last night was the last night for it, though I'll continue to play with Mary Jo and Cindy.

Must go, will be busy today at work:eek:

Good morning,

KK, You are doing so well on your workouts. Don't worry about a pound or two, it will come off. Try weighing yourself in a month again and see what happens.

Jeanette, IMax is a toughy. Glad to see you got through it. Hope you get a bike ride in. Golfing sounds like so much fun. You are right, about getting away only if it's 20 minutes away. Enjoy it and just relax and have fun.

Janie

Good Evening!

Today was a short cardio from Body Max 1 -- just the first part -- and then cardio only (not the intervals) from IMAX3 for tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be 4DS Bootcamp -- a toughy. Gotta grab extra time to be in class. Am working on it. (This picture is how I feel sometimes.)

Jeanette, IMAX is a really tough one. It and IMAX3 are the toughest, I think. But I like IMAX3 better only because of that last interval. Something about that last interval is fun. Sounds like golf was just terrific last night. Wonderful!

Have fun camping.

Janie, I so love your graphics. Yeah, that weight has me stumped. But you're right -- I'll just keep at it and hopefully it will all work out. How was your production on writing today? And your husband edits? That's terrific!

Rhea, I know you're gone, but have a great time.

Hi Mandy and Tammy! Wow, we have a holiday week coming upon us. :p

Hope it'll be great for you all. Oh, my window did get fixed -- I took it in to an auto place to have it done. Whew!

Have a super day, everyone and some terrific workouts.

KK, You are becoming a super exercise lady! Your workouts are great and are hard/tough for anyone.

Joey and I did nothing but edit stuff today. Now that I'm able to write more there are more things to edit. Jeesh, I have all these mistakes that Joey finds. He's so good at it, but there are so many! ERR!

I'm only grateful that I have a person that knows his stuff, I certainly don't. I can convey to Joey what my thoughts are, but on paper, I'm having a very hard time. He sure will deserve half of anything that comes out of this book. Shoot, it may not make it past a publisher company. Who knows! I have 3 publishers that I want to show this book to.

As you can see, my confidence is rattled.

I need to EXERCISE and get rid of some of this frustration!

Sorry folks,

Janie

Morning,
Today was 4DS Bootcamp with Bi's and Tri's. Last night I did a bike ride. We will be going camping so will catch up with everyone on the September thread when I get back.

Janie, glad you have an editor in the family. Another set of eyes... it's all good though. Today will be a better day for writing I hope.

Karen, I have Imax3 but have never finished it before. I need to pull that one out.

Hi to everyone else,

Have a great Labor Day weekend,
