KK's August Check In

Yep, it is actually 13 segments, so you could skip a few or mix them around. It doesn''t have a premix or anything like that, but each segment is a dvd chapter. It was really fun. If I could, I owuld be doing it again today, but I have to wait until tomorrow. ;) Today I might even add on some Turbo Jam, just to get a bit more cardio in. Starting to get a little bit more energy. Now if that heat would just go away!:D

Hmm, here at work the color and the font seem to work better. At home, the computer doesn't like the changes. I wonder if it is because it is Safari? I think I might have to try and get on using the Firefox. Either that or I have to ask SNM. Have a great rest of the day!

Good Afternoon,

Rhea, how is your calf doing? As soon as I can I'm going to order Christy's new DVD. Can't wait, I love her workouts!

Mandy, again, so glad to hear you can start exercising. What will your rotation look like for a few days?

Jeanette, My DH has been helping with the garden. It is producing better than I thought it would. We have zuchinni, lettuce and cukes. Our raspberries are done, but I did freeze about ten bags full. This will be great for protein shakes later on. What do you do in the "Golf Fitness Video? Is it worth the purchase? I love such a variety in life as far as DVD's go and as long as it isn't too easy.

KK, I'm watching the storm on TV. Looks like a huge one coming in. Please be safe. Tell us that you will be OK.

Had a great time with my grandson. Walked, played, watched cartoons, played, ate, watched more cartoon, more walkes, played, cartoon, ate...I had such a good time. He is adorable!

Rainey and thundery today. Not at all like a tipical WA storm. Very loud, not use to that.

Hi Tammy.

Good to be home,

Janie

Hi Everybody!

I'm so sorry I haven't been around. It has been just CRAZY around here. I just got another new account at work and have been busy with that, went visiting family this weekend, and have been tied up in our deck project. We put in a concrete pad all around the house and garage, are putting in a hot tub, and then a deck to the second story. Luckily we only had to do the ground work for the pad and the contractor takes over building the deck. The hot tub is supposed to go in on Saturday. I'm so excited about it.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and your life is a little less crazy than mine has been. I'm hoping it will settle down and I can get back into my normal routine. I'm planning to start a new rotation on Friday and have my fingers crossed that will help make me more consistent. I'm HOPING to squeeze Pour Hour in today.

I haven't had a chance to read the back posts yet but I will. I hope Janie and Mandy that your recoveries from your surgeries are coming right along.

Big HI to everyone else.

Tammy

Good Evening!

Wanted to get in a post tonight, as I'm not sure what tomorrow is going to bring. A tropical storm is headed our way (we're on the West coast of Florida) -- and I'm gearing up for a storm. I have gas in the car, food in the house, a source of water that doesn't require electricity and a bunch of dry food and plenty of food for Georgie. So hopefully I can sit it out.

Nice to see you back, Janie. I bet you did have fun with your grandson. I so wish I had grandchildren -- but none yet.:( How're you recovering?

Am glad that your DH is handling the garden for you and that it is producing so well. Our garden is not yet producing much -- hopefully soon, however.

Rhea, okay, I'm going to have to get this new DVD -- and it's not even that expensive, which is a plus. I remember looking at it and being drawn to it because it looked so fun. And I need short little cardios for my evening workouts until I can get my weight under control.

Tammy, so nice to hear from you. You have a new account? Wow? What do you do, by the way -- it sounds fascinating. Power Hour is favorite of mine.

Tomorrow is Muscle Max -- the premix as I can seldom afford more than an hour workout.

Have a super day everyone. If I can I'll let you know about the storm coming in.:)

Hi KK - Be safe with the storm. I lived on the coast of NC for 15 years so we sat through quite a few storms. We always had a maximum wind speed that we determined in advance were we would leave if necessary. Muscle Max is a goodie! I'm actually in medical transcription. I used to work in telephony for the Department of Defense but when my hubby retired I wanted something I could do at home from the farm. I'm mostly now into account management. I've been working for this company for about 3 years and am handling 4 accounts of varying sizes for them. It's interesting but sometimes hard to break away from the computer.

Janie sounds like you had a great time with your grandchildren. We have a grandson in NC that I don't get to see near enough. He's starting first grade this year and I'm hoping we will have him on the farm some next summer. I'm envious that you have a garden. I want to have a nice garden some time in the future when we have time. Our problem will be keeping all the critters out of it.

Mandy hope your exercising is going well and you aren't having too much muscle soreness. It always seems like such a struggle to get back to where you were when you have time off. Hang in there!

Hi to Jeanette and Rhea!

Well today is cardio. I usually have my workouts all laid out so this is a little wierd for me. I'm thinking maybe KPC, Cardio Fusion, or maybe Hardcore Extreme. I haven't done that one very much at all. Maybe I'll try the Hi/Lo Intervals...... have to see when the time comes. I did manage to squeeze in Power Hour last night shortly before I went to bed. Ugh. I'm not fond of working out that late, but I didn't have a choice as I was watching the Team Showjumping Final where the US won gold. I'm also hoping to get a ride in. I rode hubby's horse yesterday morning so I need to get on mine today if work allows.

Have a great day everyone!

Tammy

Good morning,
Today was about 7 or 8 intervals of Imax2, also did 2 1 rpms for STS. I did the standing barbell curls and alternating shoulder presses and entered them in Workout Mgr. Have quite a few to do. Last evening helped DH with the backyard. Tonite is a short bike ride with my neighbor.

Hi Tammy, another horse rider, huh? I had horses for over 20 years, then finally sold my last one a few years ago. I used to do hunter/jumpers, some eventing, foxhunting, then got into western, doing team penning, reining, cattle work. Finally ended with dressage. Not enough time to devote as I ride bikes and now golf, so sold the last one. Always loved the jumping. What kind of horses do you have? Nice that your DH is into it too.

KK, hope the storm isn't a bad one. Quite a difference from southern California I'm sure. Hope you get the problem with the neighbor resolved. I can't imagine your weight would cause the ceiling to give in.

Janie, glad the garden is producing well and keeping your DH busy. I just did the flexibility and strength exercises from the golf video. I'll have to see if I like it. Some pushups and squats and abwork. Not a whole lot different than what we normally do in our workouts. Glad you enjoyed time with your grandson and know he loved being with his nana.

Rhea, that Christi Taylor DVD sounds really fun. I'll have to get it. Nice that it's cooling down. Was more bearable working in the back yard last evening for sure.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Good morning!

Yesterday I ended up with a little less time for working out, so I only did the Turbo Jam 20 minutes and then added on GS legs, the squats, the lunges (both back and front) and the standing inner thigh work. It was just about right and I did not end up eating dinner too late. I'm going to have to try and get out of here earlier because I plan on the new workout today..Boy are my abs sore from that one. How did that happen? Must have been all those hip rolls. LOL.

Yes, it is so much cooler this morning and my workout yesterday evening was so awesome I had to stop and wonder why....it was the temperature. Cardio is so much easier when it is done in lower temperature room.

Well, hi to everyone....I had better not procrastinate and get to work. Got to work early so I could get things done and so far all I have done is play on the forum. So time to cut me off!:confused:

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening everyone,

Went to see my PS today. It will take a very long time to recover from what has happened to me. I do see light at the end of the tunnel. Three weeks from now I see him again, and he can tell me whether or not I can do stretches or very light yoga.

I can't wait to start moving like a normal person! He did reiterate "maybe".

I truly need patience. Although, I understand that in order to recover correctly this waiting around has to be.

My book should be written by then and sent to a publisher. I'm looking forward to getting the book done.

It does sound like that is an unbelievably amount of time to wait in order to workout,:( but I have to trust in his expertise. My nipple is under a huge scab right now, and it is slowly but surly getting better. Every day a little more skin is showing and a little less scab. It is still bleeding (PS says that 's a good sign, means things are not dead inside or under the scab) since I had the surgery.

Anyhoo, probably too much info for ya. YUCK! Rignt?

KK, How are you doing in that awful storm?

Everyone looks like they're doing good.;)

Take care everyone and have great workouts,

Janie

Good Evening!

It was Muscle Max premix for me today and then cardio only this evening after course from IMAX3 -- still fighting that weight. Sure would like to see something give on it. But oh, well...

The storm passed us by almost completely. I was prepared -- with food and such, but as it ended up, we only had about 30 minutes of rain and then it was gone. We actually had alot of sunshine today. Interesting.:)
Am really glad that we didn't have the huge winds and rain -- yea!

Tammy, I had a friend in Vermont who used to do medical transcription, as well. It was a good job for her -- she also lived on a farm. Yeah, I can imagine it would be hard to get away from the computer.

Don't you like Power Hour? Yeah, I don't like working out at night either, but I'm doing it lately trying to get a handle on my weight. That's cool that you and Jeanette both are riders.

Jeanette, ah, my favorite -- IMAX2 -- do you have your STS workouts now? I was thinking they weren't out yet. Will be fun to watch your progress with them.

Rhea, yeah, I've been thinking of those Christi workouts cause I need some short cardios for the evening. As soon as I have a moment... Hip rolls sound interesting.

Janie, it's not too much information. Just feel for you that you're going through that. But yeah, you have a golden opportunity to get that book done and start the sometimes gruelling process of getting it published. Good that you're concentrating on that.

Well, I'm off to do all the things (and there's so many of them at night) that I have to do before I get to bed. My neighbors seem to be okay with my workouts now. Thank goodness!:p

Anyway, have a super day tomorrow, everyone!:)

Good morning,
Today was 2 more exercises to determine 1 rep max for STS (supine and inclined chest flys). Then did the standing glutes and stability ball abs premix from Butts and Guts. Had a nice but good workout bike ride last night with a neighbor. It was windy so a good workout one way, we flew coming back:D. Helped DH after that with the patio. We will go to Reno on Saturday to get our pavers. Tonite is golf with another girlfriend, then a golf lesson on Thursday night. Whew!

Karen, no, they haven't released STS yet. Not sure when, but a lot of people are getting ready by determining their 1 rep max for the STS exercises. Glad the neighbors are okay with you exercising above them. That would be the pits if they weren't. Nice that the storm didn't do damage in your town.

Janie, sounds more favorable re: your nipple. Know it's got to be incredibly hard to wait, but of course, it's worth it. Just so hard for us active folks to scale down. Hope you get some good writing in while you are waiting.

Rhea, I hear you on the heat sapping the energy out of a workout. I love cycling in the fall because it's cooler.

Hi to Tammy and Mandy,

KK, Your weight will give eventually. Sometimes when we do a little too much it holds on for dear life. Don't worry, it will go away soon.

Your doing the 1rm! You sound like you are keeping up with yourself. It's incredible how much work we can do in one day. "Whew" is right!

Rhea, tell us how the new workout went today.

Hi Tammy and Mandy.

Janie

Hi everybody

Hey,
Thing have been crazy around here! I meant I was going to take two minutes to post though! I hope everything is going good for all of you. I have been running three miles almost everyday. I alternate some with KM, KPC, KB2DS. Alternate heavy weights upper and lower when I feel like it. I am still pretty light though, trying to work my way back up!! I am going to try to sneak back on the computer later when everybody is asleep and I can read everybody's posts!
Have a great Wednesday!
Mandy

Good Afternoon!

In another effort to get to bed earlier, I'm posting earlier. :p

Today was BM2 -- the first cardio (about 40 minutes) and then stretch #3 with Cathe. Good workout. I'm trying to get my hair colored today and get into my course a little early. I'm behind, however.

I love these little faces.

Jeanette, that bike ride sounds like so much fun -- oh, I see what you're trying to do with STS. What a good idea. So good of you to help your DH with the patio -- and I hope that your time with your girlfriend playing golf will be fun -- bet it will be.

Janie, I think Jeanette said it well. It's hard for us who are active to not be active. Hang in there -- you'll get back into it. Just let the body get better and have fun writing.

Mandy, good to hear from you. That's great that you're running 3 miles a day -- it didn't take me long to build back up to where I was in weight after recovering from the broken hand. Even though I'm still nursing that hand, my weight is back up to where it was before I had to stop for a month and 1/2. So it will come. Great that you're busy.

Rhea, I know you're busy with all your work -- and I think it's so cool that you are able to get in your exercise. I plan to go to Collage and get that video of Christi's -- it looked like fun and your endorsement really puts the icing on the cake.

Tammy, hope all is well with you today.

Have noticed that when I post during the day, I can get to bed a little earlier at night, which is a nice thing. But I can't always post during the day.

Well, have a super one today, everyone!:)

Good morning,
Today was CTX Kickbox, then the abs/planks from it. Last night was golf with a girlfriend. Tonite is a golf lesson.

Karen, hope you get that DVD of Christi's. I'm tempted to also as I love Christi Taylor's DVD's. How did the hair coloring turn out?

Janie, hope you are getting stronger each day. I did a couple 1rm's this morning for shoulders. A lot of the exercises I don't recognize so will have to go online to find out how they are done. I think there will be something posted later as to how to do them, but that may be awhile and there is a huge list of exercises so I'll look them up.

Mandy, hope things ease up for you and you can relax a bit.

Jeanette: I was always horse crazy but didn't get to starting riding until my 30s. I started in the hunters but now I basically trail ride. My gray was my first horse. He is a Thoroughbred, but he is pretty much retired now and is a pasture pet. My husband's horse is a half Walker/half Morgan bay and I have my new chestnut bay Paso Fino gelding I just got this spring. He is my first experience with a gaited horse so I'm having fun with that. We have a riding club out here that we belong to so I'm getting ready for our fall trail ride the 13th of September. I'm trying to keep both the bays ridden for that so it is taking a lot of my time now. My neighbor loves my husband's horse and she is going to start riding him some so that will help me. She is a beginner but has been taking lessons. We went on our first trail ride yesterday that went really well. We only walked but rode about 2 hours with no problems. I ride English. The few times I've tried a Western saddle there just seems too much stuff between me and my horse. I'm now riding in a treeless saddle which I really like. It puts you really close to the horse, even more than my close contact saddle for jumping.

I've preordered STS as well but I haven't even started on the 1 RPMs yet. I guess I'm going to have to get going and get that done, but I figure I don't have to start it the day I get it if I'm not ready when it comes out. You are smart to be ready though.

KK: Great news that the storm missed you. It's good to be prepared though. Yes, I do like Pour Hour. I love the variety having so many of Cathe workouts brings. I managed to squeeze in KPC last night and am hoping to do Muscle Max today. Thursdays are normally my day off, but I've missed so many workouts this month I'm going to try to get it in. I start my new rotation tomorrow with Low Max. I'm going to try to do a circuit/endurance rotation I found here on the website.

I love doing the transcription. I wasn't making as much as I was civil service when I first started, but I was much happier. Now, with moving on up into QA and account management, I'm getting close to what I was making then so that's good.

Janie: I'm glad your recovery progresses. I'm sure you are anxious to get back to it but it sounds like you are getting closer. I think you are smart to listen to your doctor. You certainly don't want a setback that will put you out of commission even longer.

Mandy: How's the workout coming? I believe I read you had the green light to start exercising again.

Hi to Rhea!

Tammy

Just a quick "HI" everyone....in the middle of trial...just waiting for the lunch hour to be over with. I think that it the nasty time of trial....waiting....waiting...waiting. I just want to get it done.

Well, off to the restroom and then over to the courtroom. Have a great day. If I have any brain cells left tonight, I'll try to update on the workouts.

Good evening,

I was in a cleaning spree today and got a lot done. Well, as much as I could following the rules.

I also got my book ready to work on starting tomorrow. It will be at least an eight hour day.:)

You all have been such great supporters. Thank you so much.:D

Janie

Good evening!

Have a few brain cells left. Yesterday I did Still Jumpin....but not the whole thing. That specific workout has a lot of jumpy on your toes and my calf started in a bit, so I quit before it got worse. I knew I had to wear heels today and wanted to be ale to walk. Today I popped in that Dance Fit. It is just so much fun. The first few sections go so fast that you are half over before you know it.

Anyhoo, got some work to do for tomorrow's end of trial. I'm off to the laptop and a glass of wine (my inspiration LOL)

Have a great evening everyone!

Good Evening!

Today was HSC premix -- the 51 minute one, or maybe it's 56 -- anyway that premix and then tonight was Basic Step. The weight did come down 1 lb -- for all this trouble. My goodness. It's like walking uphill.

I guess I shouldn't complain. At least it was 1 lb. My fear, however, is that it's awfully easy to gain 1 lb.:(

Anyway, Jeanette, don't you like CTX Kickbox. It was a very good day the day I ordered the CTX series. I use it a lot.

Tammy, while I'm not a good rider (I have an allergy to horses that have been in a barn) -- two of my very best friends are serious riders -- one does Dresage -- please excuse my spelling, and the other is a Western rider. Great on the circuit endurance rotation. Love Cathe's circuits. My friend in Vermont really liked her job, as well. It really worked well for her.

Rhea, your posts often make me smile. I so love your wit. Yes, Dance Fit is now on my list of things to buy as soon as I get my next advance. Being here away from home, finances are really tight. You're wise to quit if the calf started giving you trouble.

How did the case go?

Janie, well even cleaning out closets can be gruelling at times. I so love your graphics. Am glad that you're able to post them again.

Well, it's late here and so I'm off to bed. Am trying to get in extra time on course, but so far all I've managed it an extra 1/2 hour a day. I have to do better than that. I've settled in now and so am hoping to get in more time now. I have this window of time before I have to settle down for the next deadline, so I really have to buckle down.

Have a super day, everyone.:)

Morning,
Today was supposed to be PS CST, but I don't own Pure Strength so I subbed with various exercises from Supersets and Push Pull. After that, I did some exercises from a golf fitness strength DVD. Feeling nicely worked out now. My golf lesson last night was very good, on putting and chipping. After the lesson, I played 9 and I think it helped. Need much more practice.

Karen, WTG on the 1#! I know how hard it comes off and then goes back on. Can you go back to the juice feasting? That seemed to work for you too.

Rhea, that Dance Fit DVD sounds like a lot of fun. Glad you are watching out for your calf. How are the shoulders?

Janie, hope you get lots of writing done today. Can you come and clean my house too? Lord knows it needs some attention LOL!

Tammy, I never have ridden a gaited horse, but bet they are a blast to ride. Glad you have a neighbor interested in riding too. I know what you mean about so much leather with the western saddle and it getting in the way. I rode dressage for the last 6 years or so of riding and had a Wintec Isabelle, which was very comfy. I still have all my equipment, horse trailer and such, but probably won't be getting back into it. Hard to believe.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a great weekend and will check back in on Monday.
