KK April Check-In

Hi all,
Today's workout was STS Disk 18A (back and biceps). Was a toughie, but I got thru it with the heavier weights, except for the concentration curls at the end. Tomorrow's workout will be a cardio and abs.

Last night was sewing with my Mom and sister. I'm working on a wall hanging, should be done with it soon, then will start another quilt.

Karen, glad you are home. You'll get that weight off I'm sure. It just gets so darned tough when we get older.

Rhea, I played golf tonite, but only Cindy Gatie and Mary Jo Norris showed up. We played 9 holes and it was a little windy but settled down okay.

Janie, so glad you are seeing results from STS. The last 2 days, I've been so bloated for some reason. It'll be gone soon hopefully. Bet you had fun watching your GS splash around. Pictures?

Must run,

Oh, of course a private message. Duh!
Today was more CTX -- All Step -- a good workout. You know I went a little heavy yesterday on the chest and my goodness! DOM's...
My weight is not cooperating again. May have to get in that extra workout at night if at all possible.
Have a super day tomorrow everyone!:D

KK, Looks like a great workout. Always good to use heavy weight when needed. Good for you. My weight isn't cooperating either.

Good evening!
Just finished doing TH's Core Cardio with the medicine ball. It was fun and a great short workout. I think I will be doing the STS in halves for a while. I'm just not that into them and I think it is because they have so much equipment that I have to keep dragging out and they are much longer with not enough time to do the nice long stretch at the end. So I'm going to switch things up and get myself back into them, but just not so exclusive.
Hope everyone else is doing great! Was going to go do the Tuesday golf tonight, but too darn windy for me.
Rhea, Great workout. You can use STS any way you like. Hope you can golf soon.

Jeanette, Fantastic workout isn't it? I start Meso 3 Sat. Can't wait. Pictures please on your wall guilt. I bet it's beautiful. Didn't get around to taking pictures of GS, we had so much fun, I've forgotten.

A recent picture of Adrian, he's adorable.

Janie, OMG, he is absolutely precious, I just want to hug him and squeeze him!!! Ooooh, you are starting Meso 3 soon, huh? I'll be following your posts on it. I reminded DH that I need him to spot me in the morning. I have disk 16B in the morning (Chest, shoulders, triceps). I really enjoyed this one the other morning. Now that I know it won't kill me, I'll like it even better.

This morning was Low Max 1-5 intervals, then STS Med Ball abs. A walk during my break this afternoon, then golf practice with wiffle balls in the front yard. I just got done cutting out another sampler block for my wall hanging. I bought some more fabric for my new quilt this afternoon. It's going to be a bright one!!!

Hi to everyone,

Jeanette

Good Evening!

Today was CTX legs -- my legs are fried. I may still do a rebounder exercise for the weight. I can only tolerate so many pounds over my highest toleration zone. As I get older, the weight comes off so hard and yet I think it's so important to get it off. I read somewhere that eating less helps toward longevity.

We have grandfather George living with us. He's very thin and eats less than I do and he is 87 or 88 and quite agile.

Janie, I did reply to your PM by the way. And so happy that you are enjoying STS. I'm struggling to get down to work now -- so much backlog to catch up on that it's hard to know what to put down for later.

He's so adorable -- the picture does make you want to hug him and hug him.:)

Jeanette, not only STS, but Low Max and golf and biking and...and... I'm sure the bloating will go away. I so hate when that happens with me, also.

Rhea, like Janie said, we use the workouts as we need them to fit our lives and our schedules. Whatever works.

Tomorrow I settle down to write and write and write.

Have a super day, everyone.:D

Jeanette, Saturday will be the first day on Meso 3. I'll let you all about it as we do it. We also use each other for spotters. I love doing Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I think because I see lots of growth in those muscles. Great workouts! Bright colors for a quilt, makes me feel alive.

KK, Great job on those legs. I bet your legs are fried!:) I hear ya on losing weight slowly as I age.:( Oh well, it is what it is.;) Congratulations with your new family member. Grandfather George sounds like a sweetie. KK, thank you so much for all the wonderful comments, I'll use them. Don't know why I didn't think of that myself. Dah, LOL. But I must have lost your address, because I can't find it. Anyhoo, I know you are very busy, don't know how you do it all. Try not to struggle to much.

Hi Rhea, what have you been up to?

Did Power Max and burned 402 calories. Will do yoga later today.

Good Evening!

Today was the last CTX in the series -- CTX Kickbox -- it and Power Circuits are almost an hour long -- if you do the abs and all. Since my abs are bigger than I like, I did the abs.

Janie, I'll have to send you my address -- did I forget to put it in PM to you? Goodness -- I'll either send you an email or do a private message. I think you had my address there in Florida -- not sure you had my home address here. Your workouts sure look good!

Hi Jeanette! Hope all is going well with you and your workouts. Bet the quits are beautiful -- my MIL gave me another quillo for Christmas that I just got when we were in Montana -- it's red and bright -- colors I don't always wear or use much of.

Hi Rhea! Hope all is going well with you!

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone and wonderful workouts!:D

Hmm, I thought I posted yesterday. I guess I spaced!

Looks like everyone is doing great. Yesterday was a rest day since I worked too late and did not have the time. Today was a one-on-one trainer session with Tony Horton called Bun Shaper. I'm doing that workout more often. Holy Moly, I hope I can get up from the chair tomorrow.

Well, I had better get my laundry done. Tons of stuff to do and only me here to do it along with getting ready for another trial next week. Work, work, work.....

Good Evening!

:D Today was anaerobics only from Bootcamp -- 34 minute workout -- perfect. Last night I did some time on the mini tramp and watched what I ate and I'm seeing the difference on the scale. I'll try to repeat that this time.

Rhea, I felt like that often while I was in Florida -- so much to do and only me to do it all. Now that I'm home, I share some with my husband. But yeah, work...work...

Janie, I'm going to send you a PM as soon as I write this -- I forgot last night. So sorry.

Jeanette, hope all is well with you and hope your quilting is going great!

Have a really great weekend everyone. I'm speaking at the Romance Writers meeting tomorrow. :D

OK you guys, I surprised myself today. Instead of Meso 3 because we couldn't find the time to do it this month (but next month we can) I did Gym Style chest and biceps. Also one of the ab hits for 7 min. and finally, yes, Step Fit. Modify some, but I finished it. Burned 834 calories and exercised for 128 min. Yeah! Can't believe I did that. I'm so excited, but not looking forward to DOMS tomorrow.

Rhea, That Bun Shaper sounds great! Is it in the P90X series? Great job.

KK, Anaerobics is really tough. Good for you, hope the 34 minutes went by for you. Mini tramps are so beneficial. I need to get another one, gave mine to one of my grandson's. I don't know why. Anyway, so glad you are seeing a difference on the scale. Got your address, thank you. Don't be silly, no sorry is necessary. I have many of those days myself, as you know.LOL:D

Jeanette, how ya doing?

Hi ladies,
Happy Mother's Day today!

Looks like everyone is doing great. Played golf yesterday, had a bike ride Thursday night (good one). Staying busy with my sewing. This morning is a leg workout, then out for breakfast with DH. After that, we are taking the Rhino out to the woods to pick a camping spot for the Memorial Day weekend. Looking forward to that.

Just wanted to let you guys know I've decided to take a break from the checkins for a while. First time I've really done it in several years, but feel like I want to for a while.

Cyber hugs to everyone,

Jeanette

Jeanette, Sounds like life is treating you well with all the golfing, biking and sewing. Lets not forget the workouts. Good job.

Hope you are OK. I understand the need to break from things sometimes. I know I can speak for everyone here, that you will be missed. I for one will miss your suggestions/inspirations and caring of people. I wish you wouldn't leave because I'm selfish. I have looked forward to your posts everyday or thereabouts with great interest. I've gotten to know you a bit and it will be unsettling knowing you are gone from this group. Please come back as soon as you can. Maybe you can leave a personal message every now and then.

Having said that, I also hope that your life will continue to be full of golfing and biking and making memories with your Mom together as you sew. Wish the very best for you in anything you do or may be going through. Also have fun with the Rhino, just be safe.

Take care my friend,

Janie

Janie,
Thank you for your kind words. I will definitely be lurking, but don't want the pressure of feeling like I have to post on a regular basis. I know, I can just pop in and will probably do that.

Looking forward to reading about your STS journey. I did STS Legs 17 today for the 2nd time. The time flies by pretty good in this one. I've enjoyed STS Legs throughout (so far) and I'm not a leg workout lover by nature.

Take care and wishing you, Joey and little Adrian many good things.

Hugs,

Jeanette

Good Evening!

Today and yesterday were days off for me today -- just because of time constraints -- did a speech for a writer's chaper on Saturday and then went around on a little mini tour of bookstores. Trying to get in some promo. I did do some time (about 15 minutes) on the rebounder each night, however. :)

Jeanette, in case your lurking, I want you to know that I will miss you very much. I can't tell you how I look forward to your posts each and every day. I really feel as if I've gotten to know you and feel like you're an old friend. I sure do understand wanting to feel like you don't HAVE to post, though. Please feel free to come and go as you want and post or not post or whatever. I will miss your endearing comments. I will miss you.:( But I do understand.

Janie, you said it very well. I love that you're really getting into STS. Yes, anaerobics are difficult but the benefits are so good. Okay, so I'm really to the wire on this. If I can write 10 pages a day -- 5 days a week, I can make this deadline. It's going to be very tough. Writing 10 pages a day sometimes takes me 12-15 hours -- so it's get the 10 pages done and then go onto other chores and stuff -- like promoting the book.

I have to leave the weekends open to promote this new book. Deep sigh.

Hi Rhea! How was your weekend? Did you manage to get the chores all done and still get in some exercise? Sure hope so.

Well, hope you all have a super day tomorrow -- hope you all had a terrific Mother's Day -- tomorrow is my anniversary and Grandfather George's 89th birthday. Have a great one!:D

Good afternoon! Posting early from work since I"m procrastinating! LOL

Jeanette - I'll miss ya! But I have a feeling I'll be able to talk to you at golf sometime in the future. I know how it is being extra busy.

KK - wow, that's a heavy schedule, but I know you will get it all done.

Janie - how are you doing? Still doing STS? Oh, the Bun Shaper workout is from Tony's one-on-one trainer series. I get a dvd every month with his new workout. It is pretty fun.

No workouts for me this week. I'm taking the entire week off because I have too much work to do and I need to lessen the stress. My tummy is not handling the stress very well, so I've got to chill. I'll play golf tomorrow night and finish up my laundry and ironing tonight. Then maybe I can get some fun type sewing done. I will also probably work on my trial for a little while. Speaking of which, I had better get back to work! Have a great rest of the day everyone!

I changed my workouts a bit. I did GS Back Shoulders and Biceps, but did 25 min. of Power Max. Burned 885 calories. I pretty much matched with Cathe.

Rhea, I'm taking a break from STS for a month cause Joey will be traveling and it will mess it up anyway. So, until he gets home I will commit to doing Strength Training. Right now GS series. The rest of this month is Showers and Weddings to go to, then Joey will take off and visit with his son in Las Vegas for about a month. A week off from exercises is a good idea anyway. When you are ready to get back to it, you will have more strength. I'ts amazing how that works. Yes, chill out, you don't need the stress. Just take some deep breaths. I'm just kidding, you know how to do it for you. Playing golf and sewing should help a lot.

Take care,

Janie

Good evening!

Yep, golf was fun this evening even though it was chilly towards the end and we didn't get to finish since we ran out of sunlight. Oh well.

Hope to get some sewing in sometime, but I think I'm off to read. I've been burying my nose in books lately and enjoying it immensely. Maybe play a little piano too. Talk to you later!

Good Evening!

It happened to me again. Clicked the wrong button and lost everything.

Anyway, today was a no exercise day for me today -- but then I remembered that Tuesdays tend to be that way for me when I have to babysit the blog.

Rhea, I so understand taking the week off, especially if the tummy isn't cooperating. Hope that clears up fast. Didn't know that you play piano. So do I. Took lessons from the time I was 5 until 18. What sort of things do you play?

Janie, yeah, I can understand not wanting to do STS when your partner is gone. He'll be in Vegas for a whole month, huh?

Have a bit of stress right now too. I'll keep exercising though, I think, although I'm going to shorten up the exercises, like I did in Florida, until my production is up. The exercise is an outlet for me -- helps me to let off steam.

Anyway, have a super day tomorrow. :D

Rhea, Sorry you weren't able to finish golf. I've been reading also. The series called "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon (I'm on the 3rd book so far). There are about 6 books and all are absolutely wonderful. They are long reads, about 900 pages plus, so you don't have to worry about ending the book too soon. I've always wanted to play the piano. So glad you are enjoying life with things you love to do. Good for you.:)

KK, Have a great rest day. Yes, Joey will be gone part of this month and part of next month too. Plus we have showers, and a wedding to go to this month. Kinda doing our thing until we can get back to STS.

Today is GS Legs, we're getting ready for it now.

Did GS Legs, 67 min. (I hate leg workouts). They were so hard. Love the results though. Also did 7 min. of Ab Hits. Total minutes was 74 and burned 538 calories. Lost a pound. Yeah!

Hello everyone!

Thought I would pop in and say hi while I sit here eating a spoonful of peanut butter (only thing in my office I could find) and waiting for the jury verdict. It's after five and I'm starved.

Karen - I play mainly classical, ragtime and some contemporary like music from great musicals (Cats, Doctor Zhivago) I've played since I was nine. I get mad at my fingers because I don't have the reach I used to have. I like to play Strauss which requires at least one octave reach. But I am amazed at home much I've retained throughout the years. Some songs I can sit down and just play. I think it is because I have forced myself to sit down to unfamiliar songs and try to play by just "sight" reading.

Well, it is supposed to be in the 80s and 90s this weekend here! Whoppee warm weather!

Talk to you later!

Good Evening!

I'm back to my short workouts. I split up Cardio & Weights into two segments and did one yesterday and one today. I have to do something in order to get my production up. Not sure what I'll be doing tomorrow -- probably some anaerobics of some kind.:)

Rhea, I don't have a very good reach for my fingers either. And at my daughter's wedding, I discovered my right hand (the one I broke) has even less of a reach now. I used to be able to do an octave and a key -- but I haven't played in such a long time cause I don't have a piano and so when I do sit down to play I am so out of practice. Am afraid I play mostly classical -- I used to play jazz in college, but I've long forgotten. I was a music major in college.

Janie, GS Legs is supposed to be really hard. Hope you had fun with it. I'm never really thrilled with leg work only, either, but like you I like the results. If I don't do them, I get that stretching out feeling in the hips and my clothes suddenly don't fit as well as they should.

Okay so today and yesterday I wrote 10 pages -- but I'm only on page 35 -- so I have a ways to go. Deep breath. I'm going to go jump up and down on the rebounder now and then go to bed.

Have a super day tomorrow!
