Danke! I am by no means a prude but I come here for health and fitness. I can go other places for the "other" stuff.

I dont' understand what all the thank you's are for if you don't know what she cleaned up or felt was inappropriate.... Doesn't mean it won't happen again cause you don't know what was *inappropriate to begin with.*

With all due respect Tytbody - quite a number of us saw the threads within the last week and the titles alone were enough. You must have missed them - how I don't know. I for one was wondering if this went on all the time as I have only been here for a year or if it had just gotten out of control somewhat. This is Cathe's site and I think I speak for a good many of us for her integrity on keeping it in line with what she would want.

My opinion.

Everyone is saying “Thank you Cathe, Thank you. Like the topic that was deleted was some form of pornography which was highly offending.

The topic wasn’t gratuitous in nature. Nor were sexual practices being mentioned. I find it highly fascinating that half the people on this thread actually replied (positively) to the thread that was deleted and now you’re all saying thank you for removing it.

God, what has happened to everyone?

A while back Janet Jackson had to be bleeped during an interview because she said the word “Jesus”. Is this what is happening to this place? Where our words are being censored in an Open Forum (Open being the operative word here) because someone doesn’t like it? As adults most of us, 99% of us, have the ability to look the other way or not respond to any given topic. That is our own choice and our own free will. I have never ever seen on this board (and I’ve been here for 3 ½ years) anything remotely gratuitous. I’m saddened and a little disappointed.

Yes this is Cathe’s forum. Yes she should be allowed to say what stay’s and goes. I will continue to buy from Cathe because I like her stuff regardless of her attitude to various topics.

But like Cathe, I too am entitled to my opinion, without fear that my thread, my reply or my user name will be deleted because I choose to speak out.

I have stated my opinion before that these boards were becoming filled with a glut of unrelated topics and that it was becoming difficult to find posts that I was interested in or if I had a fitness post it was lost within a day. I also posted that I felt these boards were becoming less of a fitness forum and more like a chat board. I came here originally because of the diehard fitness enthusisasts and their posts. It seemed to be getting less and less like that recently. I for one am glad Cathe is reducing some of the clutter. It may not all go away but this is a first step.
 
Actually, your post was very similar to one of mine a while back with my saying that posts just vanish within a day because of all the "new" people that are joining. Nothing against new people joining but this place has changed (and not in a good way) in recent times.

I still stand by my thread though.
 
You have to take into consideration that we adults were not the only ones reading these posts, teens read them too, and Cathe is a respectable woman and has a good reputation. She wants to keep it that way.
And I for one didn't like the directions some of these posts were going in, I think that if someone wants to get into sexual discussions there are web sites for that....
I am truely thankful to Cathe for cleaning it up here......

I haven't been here in quite awhile for the very reason that the personalities involved in these forums had changed. It happened slowly but anyone who has been a member for several years can see the changes.

The very idea that Cathe has to post a topic entitled "Keeping this site clean" should be a wake-up call to any "free speech" enthusiasts. Sure, you have free speech but within boundaries. Everything has boundaries. No personal boundaries means you're out of control, plain and simple. But I guess it's not such a simple concept and that's why Cathe had to post.

Personal integrity. Words some people should keep in mind before posting whatever falls into their brain.

I am no prude AT ALL and like talking about these things but there's a time and a place to talk about it. Cathe's forum is not the place to talk about it even though it's an "Open Discussion". We can talk about anything but I think sex talk on here is a little too much especially since there's much younger people coming on here. Cathe has to keep her reputation clean to keep her business going. Although I did get a kick out of reading these threads about sex, I just felt it was on the wrong site.

Please do not get into a debate about this thread. There's no need to. Let's be respectful of each other. I know some members do not agree which is their right.
