Just purchased Push Pull and Supersets, how do you like these videos?

Well I was ready for a new weight lifting video, thought I would hold out until STS. but well, you know how that goes. I find I don't do very well with the step style videos, so for me it's weights and kick boxing all the way.

I'm excited about my pending new arrivals, and would love to hear some comments on the Supersets and Push Pull videos.

Thanks!

Excellent choice Dela!

Supersets is one of my favorites from Cathe. I love everything from the exercises to the music to the outfits. This is the style of lifting that gives me great results when I want to get rid of body fat and "firm up". It helps you develop and push your endurance.

Push/Pull is one of the workouts from Cathe that you can use on days when you want to do something less intense. It alternates exercises that are whup you like the inverted shoulder press interspersed with exercises that give you a breather but seem great functional fitness wise like the Y-move.

I love the stability ball work in both very much. I fell in love with the stability ball after acquiring this DVD.

The premixes are excellent - from long, intense to quick and effective.

Vee has described these really well and ITA with her! :)

I love the stability ball use in these as well as the fact that I can do a premix and do weight work in under 40 minutes. That's huge for me! And the Superset Lower Body Blast is a killer...I felt it for two days after I did it. Like Vee said, the music is great (Cathe even uses a Jennifer Lopez song that I really like) and the exercises get the job done.

So a very worthwhile investment on your part!

I love these workouts, too. I think they're underrated. I just have the VHS, so can't take advantage of the premixes, but I still find them very useful. They're also fun! The longer total body workouts have a dread factor for me (think MucleMax), so either of these are perfect on a day when I don't want to work out.

Thanks for all the encouraging reviews! Can't wait to get them, I should have them by the end of this week to early next week.

My second major purchase was Body Blast...I'm actually doing a rotation with Super Sets right now...Love it and I love how many premixes there are on the ss/pp DVD. I feel like I'm getting more for my money.

Can't go wrong!

I really like this whole series. I seem to use Supersets more than Push Pull. The workout goes by sooo fast!

I do both of them together for a looong workout, not particularly heavy lifting, but thorough and laid back. The stability ball is awesome with dumbells, makes you work your core at the same time. Its not as *hard* as some of the other full-body workouts, but it can be by increasing your weight if you want to.

I like the premixes on these dvds better than the original workouts. I like splitting upper body and lower body and doing more sets per exercise. I will be using these post partum until STS arrives.

Maggie:)

Maggie, just looked at your profile. #7!!! Not only do you look great, but you have beautiful children. Congrats!

Got my DVD

I just did the supersets today, and it's a nice thorough workout, it's fast paced, and I like that it is under an hour. I was definitely sweating a lot by the time we hit biceps. It's not as intense as others, but I knew that when I bought it, and I like having different styles to workout with.

I was going to do my own circuit weight workout this morning, but I find when I workout in the morning I prefer to follow a video and not have to think as much.

I'll try push/pull next time, then try out some premixes.

I just received this DVD also. I am planning on doing this type of rotation with it:

one week PP twice and SS once, the following week SS twice and PP once. Keep switching it up like that for a while. These two workouts seem to complement each other well. I wasn't happy when I got the DVD and it didn't work in my DVD player and tried it upstairs and it worked so I have to haul my ball, step and powerblock upstairs to do the workouts.

Hubby didn't seem too happy about that since my workout room is downstairs but I said I would put the stuff away, back downstairs if I needed to. I figured bringing up the powerblocks (ranges from 3 lbs to 21 lbs) would be better than bringing up individual weights and I am leaving my barbell downstairs so I won't have so much laying around.

These are two of my favorite workouts. I like everything about them. I LOVE how much Cathe uses the stability ball in them and I love getting a total body workout in a "normal" amount of time. I've been using each one about once a week and am really enjoying them.
I haven't tried the premixes thought (I have the DVD), but probably will do so soon.

Love Supersets / Push Pull

I love these workouts. I did the Push/Pull lower body 3 set workout and my legs are shaking. I think I'm going to feel it tomorrow. I think I might do this every week for the next four weeks to see how it goes. Also supersets is brilliant.

Cheers

I think there are better workouts out there as these aren't my favorite. However, they are indeed solid workouts - you can't go wrong with Cathe.
