Oh my where do I start?
Okay...is STS fun...it depends what fun means to you. Awesomely enjoyable---That is what I mean.
It is fun, So are most, to say the least, most of cathe's programs. I simply love love love lifting the weight regardless of the goal
in endurance, hypertrophy or pure strength format. I do have a very soft spot for hypertrophy.
Trust me I don't look like hulk the incredible.
I did workout my one rep max as recommended by cathe cause I am the type of person who tend to proceed to the
letter. I even invested in more equipment to ensure I set everything up and get on with the job without wasting time.
Yes it is intense. how intense is it. Cathe has used various training method to increase the intensity.
Also Cathe has used the speed and variation of exercises to bring the intensity really high to say the least.
Example: By the time you get to triset working out your leg while on meso 2, you will be gasping for air
test yourself and wear your HR monitor. Ensure youhear those bleeping selecting your relevant zone.
if you feel it is not bleeping, increase the weight and in the end you find the perfect weight selection to get the
pump done in the appropriate FUN FUN FUN way. It is like targetting a specific spot using an arrow
The better you position yourself more chance you have to hit it. weight selection represent positioning.
IMO when you select your weight properly you will need the rest time. In fact you will go through
program keeping your heart rate constantly and safely high.
I was no way ready to embark in such program when I started working cathe 8 years ago!
When I embarked on STS i already had muscle brain connection----Neural path way was already there.Because I had this
I found the program was fun. I experienced DOMS i had never experience. Although DOMS do not 100% guarantee the effectiveness of the performance from the fitness enthusiast, some of us, even on here, are DOMS lover/sucker.When I got to meso 3 at some point
I had bruises on my legs/thighs...I did not panick
. I recall posting on here and few of us experienced this.
I gained definitions on my arms, in fact my arms never looked as better as I completed STS the second time.
My legs got lean and firm. I gained strength. I could lift heavier and longer/endurance.I agree with other posters with regard to winter being the best time. For me it is more convenient time.
BTW, I have done STS 3X...I wanted to be "Ready". That was a say to myself, being honest to myself. Before starting the program I read through the user guide to understand the concept behind it.I loved the structure and the content. I prepared everything before starting. I set a date, loaded the calendar printed off the worksheet etc...Idid not want to waiste time missing out on important details.I did not want to found myself wondering what was coming next right in the middle of the program.
One thing I did, not sure it is still on cathe website, was to watch through STS q&a on Cathe TV.
I hope Cathe refresh the background of the website to retrieve those helpful vid. They did help.
Most of workout last an hour. Few last about 70 minutes. I was doing much stretch later on during the day.
Most of the time I was stretching before bed. This works better for me.
I did loose weight about 8-10 pound. That was not part of the goal. I did prepare my nutrition (eating very clean)
aiming to give it my all. It was embarking on a adventure!
Hope I have answered all question.
Should you have any further, please do not hesitate.
Hope other folks chime in ;-)
All the best,
