Intensity of Cardio for Recovery Week

Cathlete
For the recovery week after mesocycle 1, does the intensity of the cardio we do have any impact on our recovery? Just curious if I can do my usual cardio workouts or if I should dial it back a notch.

Thanks,
Laura

Not Cathe, but I've done other systems, where recovery week included moderate cardio (2 days a week), functional and core workouts (2 days a week) and yoga or stretching (2 days a week).

I'd personally keep the recovery week cardio moderate or even light.

Hmm. Sounds good to me. I used to have an awful time taking Sundays off till STS. Now I don't think about even that stationary bike for more than a few minutes as I wake up.

Don't know--may have to do at least IMAX2--it's a favorite. And, for me, it's definitely NOT moderate cardio!

But a "rest" week is going to be welcome.

I'm curious about this too...I was actually going to up my cardio and do a lot of spinning and other high intensity cardio. It's REALLY hard for me not to do weights for a full week but I am going to behave and follow instructions! :)

Bumping hoping Cathe or SNM will answer:)

Also wondering if the intensity of our Recovery week is strictly based on how our bodies are feeling..... I would assume that recovery weeks are very personal to the individual and how that persons body happens to be feeling at the time a recovery week hits.

Oh Dear Wise One Cathe...Please let us know if we are all on the right track here! :D
PS: I WISH I was going into recovery week ...the 6 month rotation says I cant yet! LOL DRATS!!! Hoping I feel rejuvenated and strong come Sunday morning when I start with the next 4 weeks!

Turning up the cardio now...

I was going to do some easier 45 minute workouts but.... since I didn't lose any weight or inches doing Meso Cycle 1, I figure my good old body needs some calorie-burning CARDIO:eek:

SNM said water retention could be a factor and probably is now that I think about it. I've been increasing my water and my biceps did seem to grow this month (water retention=swelling).

The bright side is: I really feel much stronger, including my core!! I impressed myself with the weights and reps I did. I ate really really clean this month and even included wheat germ, flax seed and creatine (sm. amt) daily. So I really feel quite energized which is a good feeling. I FEEL HEALTHY PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY.:D:D

And, that accounts for something! OH, and yes, I SIGNED UP FOR THE ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
