Hi everyone,

I thought it might be fun to hear how everyone was introduced to Cathe's workouts.

For me, I was looking for a way to get rid of post-baby weight in the fall of '04, after my daughter was born. I was a previous gym member (but quit because of the cost) and had tried Tae Bo (too easy) and even went back to the old-school Thighs of Steel tapes I had from way back when. haha. I was looking for a hard-core workout that would kick my butt. At the gym I was addicted to taking an aerobics class from this super-hard instructor ... and basically that's the kind of workout I wanted to find to do at home.

So I came across Cathe's name or the name of a workout video shopping site in Shape magazine (can't remember which) ... bought "Low Max" ... and was addicted from then on. I've tried other instructors like Amy Bento and have been v-e-r-y disappointed. In my mind, Cathe is THE BEST and that's why I continue to buy her videos. She kicks my butt like no one else.

How about the rest of you??? :)

Kara:)

Was a Firmie and happened to be flipping through the new channels on our cable. Came across FitTV and the rest is history }( .

I have to admit, as great of shape as I thought I was in while working out to the Firm tapes, Cathe kicked my butt ! I think the first one I ever did was Legs & Glutes. There were also the Pyramids and Supersets and Push Pull.

Whew ! I was definitely sold. Taped quite a few shows and after I got hooked, happened to notice the credits showing cathe.com. There went my credit card !

I have always worked out at home, did Tae Bo for a bit, did some Jillian Michaels dvds -- which is who first introduced me to the idea of working out with weights. . .

My very first workout was Cher's step work out -- OMG am I dating myself -- Kelli Roberts was the instructor but Cher was in the class and it was sold with Cher's name -- anyway I just flashed on that because Kelli Roberts was on one of the lasts episodes of Workout and it took me back -- getting side tracked here. . .

Anyway, I started working out with Cathy Savage (through an online training program, she would send me my workouts) and one of the other Savage girls asked me if I'd ever done Cathe . . . I said I'd never heard of Cathe and she said all you need to know is she'll kick your butt every time! She recommended I try Kick Punch and Crunch so I got that workout first (because at the time we didn't have Fit TV)and I LOVED her from the moment I did that workout. It was hard and it was challenging and I could not even look at Tae Bo the same anymore. I gradually added to my Cathe collection and last Christmas my husband gifted me with every DVD that I didn't have so my collection is COMPLETE. I haven't even done them all, but eventually I will -- she is the best.

My youngest son watches me workout sometimes and he has a habit of saying "mommy, I think she's trying to kill you." LOL. It always makes me laugh and helps me get through whatever moment I'm strugling with.

I love how she challenges me and the workouts never seem dumbed down -- I feel like she's pushing herself just as hard as she's pushing me - I love Cathe!!!

Did The FIRM for six months and, though their awesome cardio made my heart much stronger, I wasn't losing weight and the firmed up body was hidden under a cloak of fat that wasn't budging. I kept reading the reviews of Cathe's workouts at Collage (the paper and online catologs) and, frankly, she scared the He** out of me. I got HER catalog and bought a bunch of stuff immediately (the whole Hardcore series, which included LowMax, Imax3, CoreMax and the entire Gym Styles series). After discovering the joys of heavy weight training, in the privacy of my own home, I've never looked back. I get cardio all over but Cathe is my weight training goddess.

I was a Firmie at the time and I was on the collage video site. I found the forums there and saw lots of posts about Cathe. It intrigued me so I gave it a whirl! I asked for a step for Christmas that year and bought Cardio Hits from Collage. Well, I'm not the quickest when it comes to choreography so that was a BAD move! LOL I found Cathe's site, ordered Basic Step and Body Fusion and the rest is history!;)

I'll join the group of firmies. While I was on the ya ya website I kept reading about Cathe and decided to find out for myself. I was in a hoding pattern with the firm - no improvements and boredom was severe. Soon enought, I was saying WooHoo! My first Cathe's were MIS and CM on video. I've changed everything to DVD now. Cathe and her workouts have changed my life in a HUGE way and I love it!!:):):)

I looked under collage video's site for advanced kick boxing tapes, and for some reason, KPC caught my eye. After reading rave reviews, I figured I'd take the plunge myself, and the rest is history.

Like Cathe says, if you're going to invest the time to work out, you might as well work!! I've never completed a Cathe workout feeling anything less than satisfied. Can't always say that about other instructors.

Exerciser for my entire adult life...enjoyed The Firm, but since I found Cathe on FitTV, I have never done another Firm (no regrets!!!)

I had just lost about 30lbs and was stuck,so i saw a commerical about yahoo answers! I went to yahoo answers, asked a question about my the plateou i was in and i got a reply from a lady that said she did Cathe workouts to lose weight!

I typed in Cathe.com in google and here i am:7

I had heard about Cathe from a Catheite (cab0899, are you still around, Kim?). And I was looking for a kickboxing workout a couple years ago so I bought KickMax. I LOVED it! Then I bought Muscle Max as I was just getting into weight training (had done some of the FIRM) and since then I have most of her DVD's! }(

Videofitness forum.

I dont think it is possible to work up to high-intermediate level of fitness for those that use workout DVDs, and not know of Cathe.

Except perhaps some men. I hope that changes with STS. I could not get DH to try her so far because none of the weight training workouts I have from her feature men. He thinks my lifting to the tempo of the music is "cute". He respects it is advanced, but feels odd about doing it himeself. STS music sounds like a genius way to be able to keep Cathe's existing clients happy while also catering to those with preconceived and strong opinions about lifting to standard BPM music.

I had done some live step classes and some Kathy Smith step off and on, but never stuck with it for more than a few months. About 3 years ago I decided I wanted to get more serious about working out, and my old, warped, little step wasn't cutting it. I bought a new step from Collage, and it came with a DVD with Basic Step and Cardio and Weights. I LOVED Basic Step (even though at the time it took me several tries to figure out how to go Around the World. Heck, even straddling the step seemed tricky, LOL!) And I remember at the time previewing Cardio and Weights and thinking how hard it looked...it became a goal of mine to be able to complete it. I still have a soft spot for C&W...I was so proud of myself when I was able to do it!

I marvel at how smart Cathe and SNM are to include her workouts with the step and on FitTV. Look how many of us found her that way and have now bought so many of her other DVDs.

I was using the FIRM and was a member of the forum there. So many people raved about cathe (much to the dismay of many firmies). I tried MIS/ MIC as my first purchase and have never looked back! Interesting, I became one of those cathe ravers on the Firm forum!}(

I have received Collage Video catalog for quite some time before I decided to order. My first purchase way KM. I had NO idea who Cathe was and what this purchase would start! I liked KM a lot, but I LOVED Cathe and thought that she was a great instructor. My next purchase shortly there after was MM. At this point, prior to receiving this video, I was cocky and thought that I was in great shape. I had never really lifted weights and certainly not anything over around 10lbs. MM KILLED me. I remember my legs absolutely screaming during the beginning leg sections. The push-ups and chest were killer and the abs burned. Needless to say, I was hooked. I have since purchased only Cathe videos (excepts one Amy Bento) and am so thankful that I found her!

Funny that we had the first purchases- KM and MM!! Oh yeah, I remember the first time I did MM, I thought I was going to die!!

I actually found out about her when I bought my first step. It came with her Basic Step DVD. I needed some more risers, so I went to the website listed on the box "www.cathe.com" to order some and found out that she actually had more DVD's. My credit card has never been the same!

FitTV 4 years ago. And now 4 years later, I am rid of all of my old Firm tapes and have ALMOST all of Cathe's workouts!!

Gin:)

"My credit card has never been the same!"

:7 !!!!

Another former FIRM user. I had broken away from circuit training and was concentrating on yoga & running for the last few years. My weight started to creep up, and I figured I needed to start building muscle. I knew I needed something more than the FIRM ~ I just didn't know what. The Cathe previews on Collage sold me.

Isnt it strange how many people come to Cathe from Firm? I am an ex-Firmie myself (way back in the Anna Benson days).
