Hardcore Fitness Maniacs OCTOBER 2018

Good Evening,

Spent my day doing Continuing Education I have to have 20 credit units by the end of the onto to keep my state license I aonly have 6. I did KCM’s Raw Stretch not impressed does she think everyone is that flexible didn’t do the last three stretches.

Belinda-sorry to hear about Your BIL.

Jolie-nice workout I only had daughters.

Today was a rest day. We had family over and chili brunch. I made a regular chili with beans and a paleo chili. We had a nice time. My grandson worked on our front planter and my husband and I went out and purchased lava rock and put some in this evening. I see Kelly has put up her new Raw cardio with the weight vest workout. She says she put up two versions. I think her first try and then another one. I will do that tomorrow if I can get up and at it early enough as I am expecting a call from a roofer to come out.

Belinda, I am so sorry about your brother in law. I was praying you and your husband would get a chance to see him before he was gone. Prayers for your family and their loss.
That is rough having to separate aggressive eaters. I had problems with that when I got Gertie and my other dog was so possessive of her food bowl that she would literally quiver and growl. I separated them and would put her bowl up till she settled down. It gradually got where I could move them closer so they were at least in the same room eating. She was always obsessive over her food and would eat it so fast I don't think she ever took time to chew it. I imagine it would have been hard for someone else to feed them outside of our home without them eating in different areas.

Roxie, I love Kelly's Raw stretch and do it at least once a week. I don't think she expects everyone to get as deep into the stretches. The only part I have a bit of problem with is the splits which I can not get as low into which is okay, but the going from side to side is not happening. I go slower and it is more like a lunge side to side. I always feel a lot less stiff and tight when I am done with that stretch.

I just previewed the new raw cardio workouts. For some reason I thought that she was doing step. Maybe I am remembering her saying on one of the step workouts that it would be a good time to add a weighted vest. I am looking forward to trying it. She says she is using a 12# vest.

Diane Sue - thank you for your thoughts and prayers. The problem is the dog is an alpha dog, a lot of dogs are obsessive over her food.

Roxie - thank you so much!

Good Morning

KCM Stepboxing 1 the first workout again and this time I remembered all the moves and had a bigger calorie burn.

Diane Sue-I cannot in any way get my legs over my head or the splits or the helicopter thing at the end I applaud your flexibility.

Belinda-I know how it feels not to see them one more time before they go I wasn’t there when my dad died I made it just shortly after. Thinking of you and your family today. Oh and the baby is now 6 months old and weighs 17lbs he is a chunked and he is trying to crawl already.

I should be taking the week off after STS but I think I'm just going to cardio and cardio & weight workouts this week, nothing too strenuous.

Today I tried Kelly's RAW Boxing and Tubing - I loved it. what a fun workout. I didn't seem to get as winded as Kelly did and she stopped early on a lot of the exercises like she was really tired or something. Weird. I wanted to keep going. Really fun workout, though and I'm surprised at the music she uses. This one had 80's music in it - not the singing but the music part of the songs. I thought there were copywrite issues with workouts and songs, I remember Cathe saying a long time ago that she doesn't use 80's music anymore due to copywrite laws. Oh well, if she isn't worried about it, then I shouldn't be. LOL!!

Workout was about 40 minutes but I did some stretching and it ended up being 45 minutes total, burned 320 calories and went 2425 steps. HR was 136/212. I know the 212 isn't right because I didn't even break a sweat, plus I would be dead. So not sure what happened there.

Roxie - I've only done Kelly's RAW Stretch once through and I can't do the splits AT ALL, and forget the legs over your head. I just did other stretches while she showed off. LOL!! I think the goal is to do the workout enough so you can actually do those things but I never see myself doing those things. I couldn't do them when I was a teenager.

Diane Sue - I see Kelly has two more new RAW workouts out there, I will preview them but they don't look like something I'd like to do. We'll see. I sure hope your roof gets taken care of, ridiculous what you are going through!!

Belinda - Thinking of you. LOL on the aggressive dog with her bowl. I have a cat that is the same way!!

Jolie - Nice job on your 6 mile walk!! Woot!!!

Roselyn - Great job with your workout!! You are kicking butt as well!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning,

RWH HC UB is done. I also did D15 SBF LB.

Roxie - thank you for your kind worlds. I didn't see my dad one more time when he passed. We were stationed in El Paso, TX at that time. My dad passed right before we landed in Germany.

BBL!

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Cardio Overload workout #1 35 minutes, heart rate average 118, max 153, 2,304 steps, met 5.9, 220 calories,2,304 steps, my vest was at 17# :O (my mistake as I did not realize the vest itself weighed 12# and the weight packets are 1# each in the Altus weight best like Cathe's) It was tough!! So I took out some weight thinking I was taking out 2.5# and it was only 1# for workout #2, 16# vest, 33 minutes, met 5.9, 216 calories, heart rate average 123, max 147, 2,458 steps. Total time was 68 minutes, 436 calories, 4,762 steps.
The workout was tough with that much weight. I think I will be good at planks and push ups after the work at the end of workout #1 with the vest on. Anything after that should be easy :) I liked the workouts and will do them them next time without the weight packs in the vest. It would probably stay in place better. I had looped my yoga strap through it and tied it around my waist to help keep it from sliding around. Kelly's does not seem to slide at all.

Debbie, I liked that workout too. The two new workouts, she says you can do without the weighted vest and that it is not required. I liked them. I wish we could have more of the older music on workouts. I have tried to workout with some music tracks for fitness on Amazon Prime before and they were not that good imo. I remember when Cathe had some of the older music and I liked it so much on the workouts that I went out and bought the CD's and downloaded some on my player. It seems it would boost sales for those people. Then again they probably would want some money from the instructors sales. I don't know how all of that works.

Roxie, I think not everyone's body has the ability to get in certain positions. My knees and hips won't turn out right for certain yoga positions and if I tried to force them, I would probably have to break them first. I do the best I can and that is it. I can do the plow move with feet over my head and I hold onto my feet with my hands not problem. I was better at splits for awhile, not all the way to the floor, but pretty close, when I did Tai Cheng for a few weeks doing that same practice every day. I usually get a few more calories in once I have learned the moves on a new workout.

Belinda, nice work getting in RWH and SB today. I was not there when my mother passed from ALS or my Dad passed. They lived in Nebraska. My Dad hit his head and was in the hospital. We went and spent two days there and he was in a coma. We signed for him to have surgery to try to relieve the pressure on the brain, but he died 3 months later and never woke :( Circumstances did not allow us to get there at the last for my mother. That his been many years ago. It is tough on all when there is loss of a family member.

Today I am short on time but managed to get in a decent workout. I did a total body workout minus ABS because I think I will do them tomorrow. Workout was 46 minutes and I burned a whopping 301 calories.

STS Meso 2 Warmup

Chest Flies- 15's x 12 ( 4 rounds of this circuit )
BB Rows- 50# x 12
Seated Overhead Press- 20's x 12
Hammer Curls- 17's x 12
2 Arm Kickbacks- 10's x 12
Pop Squats BW- x 20
Leg Curls- 20# x 16

I feel like I could go heavier on certain exercises but didn't want to push it. I will go up next week. These hot flashes are killing me! I am so sleep deprived, the stress of moving ect really has me feel like I am loosing my mind. What can I do about them that I am not already doing? Anyone every heard of the pellet that helps with Menopause? I have to look into something to help me get through this stage of life. I had to get up 3 times last night and change my PJ's, I was soaking wet. Yuck!

Debbie, What are you going to do after your cardio week? Do share... :)

Diane Sue, NIce workout today. My new diet which I love is grilled Chicken and sliced green apples. I have to loose about 7 pounds so I have to cut out some major snacking and carbs. I am looking for something in the morning to eat that is healthy, maybe Deviled Eggs. I do put protein powder in my coffee:)

I still haven't gone back and read any posts because I have been swamped. I hope everyone is getting their workouts in and kickin butt! I heard someone lost their brother in law, I am so sorry to hear that happened. Prayers for you! I am glad we have some new people joining the group, I need some new Ideas for workouts!

Have a great day! I cant wait for this week to be over. A lot is happening and I need a break!

Jolie, nice workout for that short of an amount of time. You will get through the week just take it one day at a time and don't look ahead so much. Worrying over it does no good. No, I have no idea what the pellet is. Sorry about the hot flashes. I really do not have any other advice than that staying on black cohosh daily helped me. Otherwise I was a clammy mess night and day. I see a new Whole 30 Slow Cooker cookbook coming out this week. I would like to get it as it has recipes for the Instant Pot as well as slow cooker recipes. I have purchased a lot of Keto and Paleo Instant Pot cookbooks for Kindle already. That is where I got my Paleo Chili from. It has a carrot, celery, onions and diced tomatoes in it. Better than beans. I just recently had checked out the Bullet Proof Cookbook digitally. I don't know if I can handle that much fat in my diet. I got the Brain Octane MCT oil and tried the butter coffee with bullet proof coffee. I am afraid all of that oily stuff floating around does not set well with me. I quit the butter and went to a half tablespoon of MCT oil. It really racked up my fat calories. I rechecked the book again today. I want to look it over some more. I was doing so much better with the fat by lowering the cream in my coffee to canned coconut milk. I don't want to get used to extra fat in it. I will get it right eventually. I need more energy and so far I guess I plunge right through my workouts with energy, but I still am exhausted mid afternoon. I thought maybe it was my RA med so I cut it to one at night and skip daytime. It has only helped a little bit so I am not sure what is causing it.

Jolie-I am on two different hormones for my menopause symptoms the hot flashes were horrible but I have had a hysterectomy.

Debbie - I have no idea what it is about food? They are aggressive when you try to feed them. I always thought it's just dogs. Never thought cats would act the same. Brawler I could take food out of his mouth, he would shared his food with you. Well, I always shared my food with him, lol. He was such a sweet boy.

Today I did another Cardio Coach mix I made, this one included a challenge from Volume 5, one from Volume 6 w/Candace and one from Volume 2. Had a great workout. My legs felt like lead today, like I haven't ran in a long time. Really weird. Plus they are really tight, I need to get a stretch in soon.

Workout was 50 minutes, burned 448 calories, ran 3.54 miles and did 7187 steps. HR was 146/181.

Diane Sue - Nice job with your workout! I need to preview that one, though, it doesn't look like a workout I would like to do. It looks hard on the knees since you are wearing the weighted vest. Glad you enjoyed it!

Jolie - I'll probably just do total body workouts a couple times a week and then running/kickboxing. Not sure yet, but it will be a mish-mosh of Kelly's workouts. Nice workout yesterday! I'm sorry you are having such issues with night sweats. I used to get them but not as bad as you, I never had to change out of my PJ's. That must be miserable. Maybe you need to see a doctor and get on some light hormones? I feel bad for you, there are days I have hot flashes every 20 minutes, it's horrible.

Belinda - Nice going with your workouts!! I am also one who wasn't with my dad when he passed. He had a sudden heart attack and one of my step-brothers called to tell me. It was horrible. I still miss him like crazy and he's been gone for 10 years now. :( Will you guys be going to your BIL's funeral?

Roxie - I know she's just taping her workouts in her basement, but she charges us to view it, it's not free. So therefore she could be doing something illegal with the music. I hope not because I love the music she uses!! I couldn't find your workout post, what did you do yesterday?

Roselyn - Nice going with your workouts!! You are killing it lately!

DOZ - Where are you girl? How come you're not checking in anymore?? We miss you!!

Good Morning,

I guess I forgot to post yesterdays workout it was Stepboxing 1 again and this time I knew it better so I could really get a good burn. This morning I started with KCM Muscle Meltdown did two rounds no bench hops and wasn’t really feeling it so I tried spinning but didn’t feel it so ended up doing KCM Raw Boxing and Tubing like Debbie did yesterday and it was a nice workout.

Debbie-I don’t know how she gets away with it maybe its not monitored but StudioSweat uses the playlist on their phones and they charge people all over the world.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Step Boxing Both combined mix, 50 minutes, 325 calories, met 5.9, heart rate average 130, max 161, 4,624 steps. I then did Fit Split Push day weights only mix, 37 minutes, heart rate average 103, max 146, met 4.6, 188 calories, 883 steps. Total time was 87 minutes, 513 calories.
Weights
super sets
Bench Press 25# dbs 10, 8, 8 reps superset with Chest Flys 20# dbs 10,8,8 reps
push ups- knee taps 10,8 reps then plyo push ups wide close on step 20 reps
alternating close grip bench press 20# dbs 16, 12,8 reps super set with lying extension 35# barbell 10,8,8 reps
triceps dips 35# barbell 32 reps
Shoulder pess 35# barbell 10,8,8 reps super set with goal post press 15# dbs, 1 set 12# dbs 2 sets, 10,8,8 reps
Front squat 35# barbell heels elevated 12 reps superset with high and tight 3 sets
calf raise 20# dbs 50 reps

Debbie, if you do the overload workout go light on the vest. My knee did hurt last night. Mostly the previous surgery knee. But, I did do way to much weight and will try lighter. I think it would be good as stand alone cardio without the vest. She says the vest is optional. I was pretty sore this morning and had originally planned on a full leg workout, but decided that was not happening.

Roxie, nice work. I do that quite often with workouts and feel I have wasted so much time on not being decisive. Those bench hops can be pretty tough. I have to be in the mood for those. They really kick the heart rate up. The boxing and tubing is an enjoyable workout :)
