Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Tues July 29

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Flat Belly Cardio with Ellen Barrett. I only did 40 minutes of cardio so I amped up the intensity a bit and had my heart rate pushing around 150-155 for most of the workout. I burned 376 calories. Tunes were Stone Temple Pilots Greatest Hits.

I wanted to get done with my cardio early so I could order my BPAL. There was a Dark Moon update and both Black Moon & Schwarzer Mond made a come back. They are two of my all time faves...so I had to order. The long awaited Snow Glass Apples is up for sale also.....which I also bought. Supposedly it smells like "sexy vampire apples"...........whatever that means. LOL.

My coworkers were eating candy bars and potato chips at 10:30 am yesterday and then they had chocolate cake after their fried chicken finger lunches! Yikes!

Have great workouts everyone.

Toasty - my thoughts are with you and your DH. Please keep us posted.

Maniacs,

Good morning all had to take my car in early so I was at the office by 7A. Hotter then **ll here lately, my hanging flowers are sooo fried.

Lora..sucks about the bad food around you. I finally won my war at the office and transformed the candy dish to a fruit bowl. Nobody touches the fruit but me, how sad.

Today I'm almost positive I'm gonna do an all body weight workout, probably Jari Love for a change of pace, maybe ripped 1000.

Forgot who mentioned Amy's whooping in ASC, but she did crack me up a few times and made me whoop with her. And what the heck with that first combo? Almost impossible on two risers.

Hermia..I have not tried A list boot camp yet, but I did see it's available on Netflix. I love love love..Kickbox extreme, and Hi-lo knockout is climbing up there too. That one kind of threw me for a loop with all the high impact, but I should try it again.

Dallys...did you get the traveling set..or the regular set of Valslides?

Ok, off to be productive.

Amber

Well, I completed my 8 week rotation and have about three weeks before dh and I go on vacation. I want to take a week off from my workouts then so for the next few weeks I'm just going to wing it. I figured I'd do Gym Style workouts this week and then something else next week. WOW! What a workout. If I can move tomorrow I will be amazed. This was fun and I really missed this workout. This series is my favorite

CHEST
72 drop set Pushups
***Used my Perfect Pushups for these. Did them all on my toes but took longer breaks then Cathe did.

Dumbbell Press:
35's - 3 sets/12 reps

Dumbbell Flyes:
25's - 3 sets/12 reps

Incline Dumbbell Press:
30's - 2 sets/12 reps

Incline Dumbbell Flyes:
25's - 2 sets/12 reps
***Ok, talk about a burn. I am not use to doing 2/2 counts. This made my chest feel like it was on fire!

TRICEPS
Close Grip Barbell Press:
60# - 2 sets/10 reps + bonus reps

Dips:
24 reps
***I did Bench Dips.

Lying Dumbbell Extensions:
20's - 8 reps then 5 reps
***Was suppose to be 2 sets/8 reps. My tri's got fried on the last set. Should have lightened the weight.

Seated Overhead Dumbbell Extension:
25# - 12 reps then 9 reps
***This one got me too. Should have lightened up a bit.

Cross-Body Dumbbell Extensions:
12# - 2 sets/12 reps
***The counts on these really make the tricpes burn. Love it!

Cross-Body Band Exentions

Kickbacks:
10# - 2 sets/10 reps

Kickbacks w/band

Wow, this was a great workout! Now I can't wait to do the other two in the series!

Debbie?

Hey woman...tried to link up to your rotations in the Rotations forum and they don't link up. Not sure if you saw yesterdays question to you about a rotation to lean out my lower body and I tried to link up to your lower body blast rotation with no luck. If you have those rotations somewhere can you send them to me?
thanks,
Amber

Amber- I put a new thread out there with all my rotations in it. I did it yesterday and all the links work. Go check it out. It's probably about the t6th thread down.

Morning,

Debbie: Dam, girl, you worked it this morn, nice work!:D

No workout this morning, just mentally tired, Yeah! that’s it. I plan to do legs tonight, I’ll see when I get home.

My co-worker picked me up this morning, she told me to be outside around 7:45am. (I could not believe I did this). Well I was outside waiting at 6:45 DUH! I waited for Margie about 20 minutes and then thought maybe she forgot me, cuz we are always laughing and talking about writing things down. Anywho, when I looked at the time from my cell phone it said 7:05 I like WTH I couldn't believe I did that, so I went back upstairs and started vacuuming my appt. My mind is gone!:eek:

Morning Maniacs! Getting ready to to my workout. I'm doing 10 min. trainer Cardio, Valslides DVD all levels, 10 min. trainer yoga flex. This little combo made me sore for days. (omg! we no longer have a little evil smilie!)

Dallys...did you get the traveling set..or the regular set of Valslides?
Amber

Amber- I got my kit at Target and it came with the Valslides and their covers (to use them on hard wood floors) and a DVD , and a Slidecard (which is a cardboard list of the execises). It also came with a bag to hold everything. I would assume it's a travel kit. Not sure what her website kits have in them, but I think they come with a Valband, and I didn't get one of those. I just tie my own Cathe band into a circle.

Teddy- That's mental girl! ROFL!

Dallys -meant to ask you. How the F do you use that stupid cardio belt w/ the 10" Trainer series? I can't figure it out for the life of me. Also, have you tried any of the weight segments yet? I viewed mine (I bought the Deluxe set) and was a bit bummed to see that they use the bands in the door attachment for a lot of it. I can just see me now........wasting more time trying to figure out how the heck to set up ....rather than working out!! Do you use your cardio belt for the cardio?
Lora- I don't have the Beachbody cardio belt. I just use a band and wrap it around part of my squat rack, I then use Dh lifting belt and run that through the handles of the band. It works perfect!

Dallys -what are Quadruped Extensions, hip abduction, modified leg curls, Tall kneeling with abduction, modified pushup fly-two arms? I guess I do need a DVD...LOL! Why does the website say that the Valslides don't come with a DVD??? I'm confused. What did you buy exactly?
Lora, I think only the Gofit kit at Target comes with the DVD. I don't see one on her site.

Quadruped Extensions:Kneeling on all fours, sliding one knee in/w foot on valslide and pulling opposite elbow in. Then slide out and reach out with arm.
hip abduction: Kneeling on all fours/w knees on Valslides, slide knees in and out.
modified leg curls: lying flat on back w/heels on Valslides, slide heels into butt while raising hips (tough) Cathe does this with the Ball.
Tall kneeling with abduction: Same as hip abduction, but kneeling upright (no hands on floor) Slide knees in and out.
modified pushup fly-two arms: Push-up postion on knees and hands on Valslides, move hands in and out (lots harder than it seems).

Great workouts so far everyone!

Thanks Debbie,
I'm going to try the leg blast rotation starting Monday. I'm almost positive I have all of those. I'm excited now, aside from P90x, I haven't planned a rotation since my firm days, yikes!

Dallys..I had no clue you get Valslides at Target! Sounds like an excuse to spend money yeah!
I missed meal one today and now could basically chew off the corner of my desk, guess I better go eat.

Teddy, I take it you didn't get your car back yesterday? LOL at getting up too early

Amber

Amber- Yeah, run yourself over to Target to get the Valslides! I remember they were like $15 cheaper at Target than on her website too!

Dallys: I did that one other time I got to work at 7am I asked co worker where is everyone! We all come in at different times. She sad its only 7o'clock duh.

Amber: No car still sitting  that why I was so drained! You'd think this person could at least call and say I'm not going to make it

When I got back from my walk yesterday, I stuck a for sale sign on it, with no phone number ;) two people left notes on it asking HOW MUCH :D I need a new car, NO I would like a new one. My Nissan only has 121,000 miles, I can get another 100,000 but............I may start looking this weekend, just don't want a car note.

Hey Maniacs!!!

Nice workouts!!! Decided to do Gymstyle Legs last night. I am gonna work Chest/Back/Abs today. Hubby is coming along slowly, but I am trying not to let worry sink in and remain positive. We will find out the results of the biopsy tomorrow around 2pm. I am just trying to stay super busy so I don't have to think too much.

Char- It's hard not to worry when you aren't sure what's going on yet. Keeping busy and positive will help (some). Keep us posted.

Can you tell I'm liking this quote thing? LOL! I like how you can go into past threads and copy in what you want and then paste it in your new thread. Then just highlight and click on the quote symbol (this little thing

). I've noticed that you can also edit past posts.

Cool stuff!

I actually got up early this morning, I figured if I didnt hit the gym early then I might not get to all day :)

This was a back only day, really trying to develop this area as its lacking behind..

Overhand Pulldowns 5 X 8
Cable Rows 5 X 8/6
Underhand Pulldowns 3 X 8
Standing Pulldowns (str8 arm) 3 X 8

Hmm.. have been loyal to my glutamine and BCAA powders in my smoothies.. well have to see if they work for me like they do for others (ive not had a lot of luck with supps in the past)

Enjoy the weather-- its *spossed* to be the last nice day this week for me her ein the northeast!

Morning Ladies - i did not work out today, it was rest day. I needed it after those pyramids. Will do total body - probably - muscle endurance tomorrow.

Dally's - I am going to be in SLC for a job interview. Long way from Nashville, but opportunity knocks so I am at least going to see what it has to say. I am not from Utah. Trying to set up a fly fishing guide for that Saturday. DH is going with me.

Toasty - I am thinking of you so much! Please know that we are all praying for you and your family.

Valslides - are they the same as discs? I went to a class at the Y and they just used paper plates and they worked really well!

Sorry to jump in on your check-in, but wanted to send warm {{HUGS}} to Toasty. You and your DH are in my thoughts and prays girlie :)
