Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for October 2022!!

Evening,

Today I went for a nice walk. I also did the last Fuel workout D30 in this rotations. It was tough doing the last few workouts back to back. Now I can relax.

Debbie - thank you. I am so tired today. Great job today.

Jolie - yes, there is a lot to do. Especially if you fly international.

Diane - I ate German food all over the US. It isn't bad, but it doesn't come close to what I am used too. The food isn't the same as you would get in Germany Restaurant. Hard to get ingredients, if you get them they cost a lot of money. I cook German food. I only use Germany ingredients (imported) from Germany.

I will leave for Germany tomorrow morning. Our flight isn't until after lunch. I will check in on Saturday.

This morning I did RAW BoxSIT again, love this workout.

Workout was 32 minutes, burned 285 calories, did 2150 steps and HR was 138/163.

No time for personals, I'm in a training that I am leading. Hope you all have a great day and weekend!!

No workout this morning becasue I rode my bike to work and will ride home this afternoon. Riding to work is all downhill and is an eash 30 or so minutes. Riding back home is uphill and much harder workout about 50 minutes. The leaves are still in color so it was a very pretty ride.

Today I had a great workout. I started with an uphill walk on the TM, 45 minutes, traveled 2.5 miles and burned 401 calories. Next, I took out an oldie but a goodie, Cathe's Power Hour and did Biceps and Triceps twice using 8# DB's and it turned out to be a really good workout. I will do Chest, Back and Shoulders on Sunday. I am going to leave very early tomorrow morning to go and visit my parents, my mom wants me to cut her hair and then we are going shopping and then out to lunch. No time for a workout tomorrow but I will hit it hard on Sunday. I had to go in and get the extra X-ray yesterday because they wanted to compare the left side to the right side, so they took both sides yesterday. I thought it was odd that they did not do that the first day to compare the two joints. The lump is almost gone, I have been watching the videos on how to allign the collar bones and to get them moving since they can get stuck and do not rotate with the shoulder when it is moving. I cannot believe I did it on my own and it is almost perfect. They say it is because of sleeping and tight muscles that pull the collar bone upward so I really need to make an effort to stretch the traps and neck muscles daily.

Debbie, great workout today! Have a great training session at work.

Diane Sue, Nice workout yesterday. I am having a lot of issues with my neck too, it is tied to the collar bone issue I am having. Boy, I hate this crap! I am going to be lifting lite for awhile and do higher rep workouts, Cathe has a ton of older ones so I am going to do them again. Power Hour, High Reps, 4 Day Split and so on. I think next week I may do 4 day split, I used to love those workouts.

Doreen, great job biking to work yesterday. Enjoy your rest day.

Roxie, way to go on the Shaun T workout!

Roselyn, good for you and getting a total body workout in yesterday!

Have a wonderful day. It has really cooled off and I am looking forward to some cooler weather.

Today I did Step Boxing 32 minutes, heart rate 138/170, 187 calories, 2, 883 steps. I then did CDorner Butt and Abbs Booty Band (she uses the fabric bands for this) 27 minutes, 75 calories, heart rate 98/119, 984 steps. I kind of wish I had gone for Kelly's band finisher. This was okay for the first part standing glutes 'but then she goes to the floor with one move and goes into abs that some were hard to modify and protect my neck with last part was lower with band on the floor. I think my medium band like Chris' is stretched out or something because it seemed loose, and I was supposed to keep it taught while doing abs. Way to much time on hands today, I think. I finished with Raw Day 5 stretch finisher. She uses the foam roller at the end of this. I cannot roll with my head way back and no head support though. This was 37 minutes, 55 calories.
Total time was 96 minutes, 317 calories, 3,867 steps

Belinda, have a safe trip! Sending prayers for you.

Doreen, have fun with your ride home after work.

Debbie, nice work with Box Sit today.

Jolie, great workout today. Have you tried to look back at what workouts you were doing when your collar bone was out of place? Tight Traps causes neck pain. I have been told that by my PT and my doctors. I have to work at them all of the time. I rolled them and did different moves that I have picked up on from Chris Dorner that really help my traps, neck and shoulder mobility and tightness. I added some after I finished with Kelly's stretch. I lie on the roller vertically to work on the spine and move side to side and hold on the knots. Moving arms in a rainbow and straight up and squeezing back into roller. It helps. I am getting better with posture. I can wear my Tommy Copper posture shoulder shirt all day now without it causing me pain. A lot has to do with us getting things out of alignment.

This morning I did a HIIT workout with Hannah Eden on Ifit. She's about the only trainer that does advanced strength workouts and hers are mostly hiit but this was a good one.

I wished I could have ridden longer yesterday- the afternoon was so perfect for a fall bike ride - not too hot, not too cold.

Today I did Raw Day 3 Shoulders and Legs adding an extra warm up, 45 minutes, heart rate 96/125,119 calories, 992 steps. I then did Raw Just Step #4, 30 minutes, 141 calories, heart rate 120/160, 2,798. I finished with CDorner Relaxing Full Body Stretch, flexibility, and mobility, 35 minutes, heart rate 77/96, 58 calories. Total time 1 hour 50 minutes, 318 calories, 3,790 steps.

Raw Day 3 shoulders and legs
lateral raise ith thumbs down to avoid traps, 8# dbs 10 reps 5 sets
butterfly /press, 8# dbs 10 reps 2 sets then dropped to 5# dbs 10 reps 3 sets

4 sets of forearm planks knee in/ drop to side 10 reps each

Squats 1 1/2 20# db held at chest 10 reps 2 sets 25# kettlebell held at chest 3 sets 10 reps (Kelly uses a barbell and Noel uses a weight plate) I find the kettlebell a little easier to hold up in front. I read those front squats with weight at chest height keeps the back out of the move.
Shoulders on bench bridges 20# db 10 reps then 10 pulses done 4 sets

Roxie, I have two round brushes that I use for styling my hair. One is large and one is a medium one. They do help with some volume.

Jolie, I hope you had a nice day with your parents today.

Doreen, I do not like a lot of the Hiit workouts, but occasionally I come across one that I like. I am glad the one you did today was a good one.

I did an hour on the bike this morning. First a hill climb interval ride in Iceland (near the site where they shot some Game of Throne episode I guess) and then a recovery ride through the city. I mostly tacked on the recovery ride because my dog had fallen asleep in the bean bag chair and wasn't begging me to go out after the first 45 min. ride!

Good morning! Today I had a fantastic workout, I did Cathe's Gym Style Chest and Triceps. Boy, has it been a long time since I pulled this workout out, I forgot what I was missing!!! I love Cathe's older workouts so much, slow and controlled and muscle building is the focus. I did not do the pushups at the beginning, there would be NO WAY that I could do those with this collar bone and shoulder issue. Instead, I grabbed lite weights and did chest press and it worked out great. Total workout time was 50 minutes and I burned 322 calories. I could have gone so much heavier, but I am not going to risk triggering this injury again.

Chest Press, no pushups- 10's x 28, x 24, x 20, x 16, x 14, x 12

Chest Press- 15's x 14, x 14, x 14 (I did more reps since I went lite weight)

Chest Flys- 10's x 12, x 12, x 12 (first time doing these in a long time, no pain)

Incline Chest Press- 15's x 12, x 12

Incline Chest Flys- 10's x 12, x 12

Close Grip Chest Press- 15's x 12, x 12

No Dips, Triceps Pulldowns using a cable machine- 30# x 16, x 16, x 16

DB Lying Triceps Ext- 10# x 12, x 12, x 12

Seated Overhead Triceps Ext- 10's x 12, x 12, x 12

Lying Cross Body Ext.- 10# x 12, x 12, x 12

2 Arm Kickbacks, Cathe does 1 arm- 8's x 16, x 16, x 16

I will be feeling this workout, I loved it!

Doreen, great job with the bike ride, what does Iceland look like? I hear it is really pretty.

Diane Sue, great job with the workout yesterday. I am thinking of signing myself up for a PT appointment to get some ideas on how to work through this issue with the collar bone and shoulder. I am still waiting for my evaluation of the second set of x-rays, I know it can take a long time at the place I went this time. I might try those mobility workouts you mentioned, thanks for sharing the info.

Roselyn, great job on the walk for your rest day.

Make it a great day. Cool here today, I am going to make Tuscan white bean soup while watching football all day long!

Today is a rest day. I got up and went to church and did not know the road was only one lane in front of our church. They said, it would take 3 weeks to finish the project. I had to take another route home. I am glad I was going the right way in that one lane. I will be taking Wednesday off from working out as I will have to get up really early to get to the Arthritis doctor.

Doreen, that is nice that you got in the recovery ride as well as the Iceland ride.

Jolie, great job on the workout today. I always loved that workout. I am terrible about getting out the dvds lately. You chose good substitutions. I am still dealing with my rib cage and sternum thing and too many planks and push-ups seem to set off pain. Not as much as it was, but I am not wanting to make it like it was before. A PT might be able to help you with moves to do. I watch a lot of Alyssa Khun stuff on YouTube. It revolves mainly around arthritis, avoiding it and dealing with it. Still being able to weight lift is part of it. She has guests and there is one on powerlifting. Lots of form and moves. There are some with the TRX if I could figure out a room to hook mine up to a door and have space in. I have an X-mount for the ceiling, but no one will put it up for me. They think I will hurt myself or something. It is great for alignment and balance. Alyssa has muscular legs and biceps are nice.
Your soup sounds good. I have Walmart delivering some groceries in a little while. I cannot believe cost!! We went to Braums to eat yesterday and I went to the grocery part and got milk, yogurt and some things. I was shocked at cost of milk and eggs. I am trying to get things bought for our family + Thanksgiving dinner. I don't want to hit the store and things be out of stock.

I did LITE Lower Body today and then took the dog for a walk. I forgot how dark it is at 6:30 now!

Supination Curls

Half Curls: 12's
3 sets alternating each exercise

Superset #2

3 sets

Superset #3
Shoulders
Seated Overhead Press

Superset #5
Triceps
Skull Crushers

Dips: (I did Close Grip Presses - 15's)

Workout was 46 minutes, burned 234 calories, HR was 100/149. It took a while for my HR to get up with this one for some reason. Oh well.

Great job with your workouts everyone. My knee is still really bothering me. I had to wear my knee brace almost all weekend. Standing is really hard to do and I stood most of the afternoon yesterday cooking. It about killed me. I can't wait to get the MRI to see what is going on.

Have a great day everyone!!

Today I woke up feeling Amazeballs, no pain anywhere, "it is a miracle!" My Triceps are "talking to me" today from yesterday's workout. Today I opted for a 1-hour uphill walk on the TM, traveled 3.3 miles and burned 507 calories. It is much cooler here today, 58 degrees when I woke up, YEAH!!!!!!! I got my results back from the second x-ray, and everything is perfect. That tells me, that it is the tendon that goes over the joint area of the collar bone that is having it's issues. The lump is almost gone so I think that it is finally relaxing, or it was a sprain and taking time off from lifting heavy weights really helped it out. My doctor sends me an email saying to keep my ortho appoint in early November. Why? They will just want to do some sort of injection to mask the issue, so I am not going. I have really no pain at all anymore and the lump is going away. It is all about getting the copay and giving people drugs. Nope, not me! A good PT or Chiro is all I will need, not an Ortho who really doesn't understand the mechanics of the human structural system. Ortho's are good when you need an MRI or surgery.

Debbie, great workout today!!! Sorry your knee is giving you fits, I bet you are so ready to find out what is causing this issue. Do you take Turmeric for the pain and inflammation? I find it works really well and it is an easy fix for pain and swelling sometimes.

Diane Sue, the traffic around here is horrible too! So many times the roads are closed and it causes complete backups on the highways and streets. I hope you have a great workout today. My Tuscan soup came out amazing. I added extra 99% fat free ground turkey to it to up my protein in each bowl.

Doreen, it is so dark here in the mornings as well, I have to take my dog out later and now I start my workouts later too, which I do not like.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Today I did CDorner Rack & Roll Step #245, 58 minutes, 121/144, 264 calories, 5,178 steps. I then did Raw Back, 23 minutes, 54 calories, heart rate 90/119. I modified a bit on the pullover move.
I finished with CDorner stretch/mobility with a chair I have kept saved in my watch list. I like this one and it sure helped me as I had so many aches this morning today head to toe. Rainy weather makes things worse.
The chair is not for sitting on. There is more movement on this one. I skipped a bit of the lying and relaxing because she has a bit more stretching at the end to finish it off. This was 29 minutes, 48 calories, heart rate 79/97.
Total time was 1 hour 50 minutes, 366 calories, 5,635 steps.

Raw Back \ 3 moves done back-to-back 4 times for 10 reps each move
seated rows 15# dumbbells 10 reps
pullovers 10# dumbbell lying flat on bench instead of head on like Kelly and hand grip facing my head
I did not pull over real far and ended vertically and not towards the navel as suggested as that brings in the front of the shoulders. I stuck with the way I did the weighted bar during PT.
1 arm rows 15# dumbbell first set it felt to light so the other 3 rounds I used 17.5#
Finisher
run rows seated 10# dbs
scap squeeze seated 8# dbs

Belinda, I am glad that you made it there okay and that Sadie did well. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Doreen, nice work with Ice Lower Body today and the dog walk.

Debbie, nice choice for replacing the dips. I used to like dips, but they really bother my shoulders and chest now. Great workout. I am sure you will be glad when you can find out what you are dealing with. Your leg should not be doing that.

Jolie, great job today. It is nice waking up with no pain whatsoever :) That is great that the results are all good from the x-ray. I got a good night's sleep last night myself. I understand about not going back. I often wonder why I keep going to the arthritis doctor. I don't want stronger meds. I do get the hydroxychloraquine though. I take half recommended though. Last time I told the doctor I was fine and he asked if I wanted an injection or another med. I go there on Wednesday and will pick up my prescription and see the doctor. If I can manage the pain and inflammation myself I see no reason to get something else. I am going to try the Curcumin I posted a link to before. I have been using Nordic Naturals Omega Curcumin that has glutathione in it. It does not seem to manage pain as well as a couple of others that I have used. Life Extension did not help a lot either.

This morning I did RAW Heavy Bag & Shadown Boxing, this is the one with her son, Zach in it. Love this workout, it's my favorite boxing workout. I like it because there is little lower body movements,it's mostly punching. I also like the ab workout at the end in this one.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 379 calories, did 2704 steps and HR was 146/181.

I also did some PT knee exercises.

Jolie - Glad you felt so good yesterday, I love days like that. I'm also glad it is cooling down there finally. It has been absolutely beautiful here, sunny and in the 70's. It's awesome but will end soon. No, I haven't taken turmeric yet, maybe I should try it. Thanks, I'll look into it!

Belinda - Glad you made it to Germany ok and that Sadie did so well. Enjoy your family even though it's a very sad time to be with them. Hugs to you.

Diane - Nice job with your workouts yesterday. I really like the 1 body part a day workouts. I like them especially when I can do cardio. Once this knee is good I'll be going back to doing that. I'm not a big fan of dips, they hurt my wrists, my upper body area. I'd rather do KB's or CG Presses.

Have a great day everyone!!

I did a 40 minute ladder interval ride in Iceland to "Red" falls this morning. Spectacular views and a good workout. Then I took the dog out and he wanted to run so we did a little jogging around the block.

What are you all doing for STS 2.0? I was thinking downloads but also wondering if the downloads will be offered separately. I'm not sure I want all the recovery workouts and I don't typically do body part splits. I may wait and do On Demand to test it out before committing.
