Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for October 2022!!

This morning I had to go into work early for a meeting so I only walked on my treadmill for a bit. I am sort of mad because only 3 out 14 people showed up to this meeting. Ridiculous, what a waste of time.

I made a pizza yesterday and my stomach hasn't been right since. I knew I should not have put real cheese on it. :(

Anyways, I walked for 25 minutes, burnd 197 calories, did 3010 steps and HR was 125/145.

Great job on your workouts this weekend!! Have a great day!

I did a 35 mintue strength on Ifit with Jonny Gale - he was in front of a waterfall in Iceland. It was a decent workout - long intervals so muscle endurance.

Yesterday my husband and I checked out a trail in a new open space area north of us. I don't think I'll go back- maybe on my bike... We saw two rattlesnakes - both of them rattling at us right on the edge of the trail. The first I was already past with the dog so my husband who was behind us had to wait to get around. The second started rattling right by me and I jumped and ran forward but then screamed when the dog turned back to go try to check it out! My husband again was behind us and had to wait to go around it. I've been in Colorado over 20 years now and while rattlers are found in every park around us I've never seen one - so to see two in one hike was unreal!

I had bad low back pain and hip yesterday. It hurt to stand up. I do not know why it was so bad, but I took Advil and used a heating pad, then went and did 50 minutes of CDorner mobility stretch for neck and back plus. Then I soaked in hot water. It lightened up over the day. Still a bit there today so I was careful about exercise choices. Tomorrow will be a rest day as I am getting together with my ladies group for games and card making with breakfast.
Workout was CDorner To the Beat Low Impact Cardio disco, 46 minutes, heart rate 139/171, 269 calories, 4,791 steps. I then did her Upper Body Abs mini band workout, 36 minutes, 91 calories, heart rate 92/131, 551 steps. I wish this one was more upper, but it was okay. I was looking for a mini band arm workout that I remember doing and liking. She is creative with those bands. I saw others after I finished, go figure.
I finished off with CDorner Full Body Stretch at home from 2 weeks ago, 22 minutes, heart rate 73/94, 29 calories. Total time was 1 hour 44 minutes, 389 calories, 5,347 steps.
Mini Band Upper Body and Arms Timed (I had to work on some of the abs to modify and keep from irritating my neck)
w/ up and 1 set push ups heavy loop band
section 1
1 arm row
plank knee to elbow
band side bend
repeat both
section 2
band above wrists robots (hammer curl alt.)
band around feet sprinter sit up
triceps kick back
band around wrists straight leg cross crunch
band on feet seated feet on floor biceps curl pulse
band on wrists banded lat pull

Jolie, nice work with the treadmill and weights yesterday.

Belinda, good job on Fuel day 20 and 21 along with your walk.

Debbie, that is ridiculous for people just to not show up for a meeting at work like that. I guess it is not required?? Dairy bothers me some, but for the most part I can occasionally have a little cheese. It depends on what it is. I use Kefir a lot though. It is hard for me to keep enough cashew yoghurt around since Walmart does not carry it. I hate coconut milk and almond yogurt. It tastes gross. At least the store ones. I have made coconut milk yogurt in my instant pot and it tasted good. A2 milk products are usually more easily digested. Sorry you did not feel well after the pizza.

Doreen, I don't think I would want to go back to that trail if I saw two rattlers. I could see my dog wanting to go back and check out the snakes. I hate snakes.

Roselyn, nice work with back and biceps.
band above knees 3 pulse crossover crunch
band just below knees concentrated leg lower

concentrated staight leg switch.

Good morning,

Today I will do Fuel Day 21 UB and a walk. I have PT appointment this morning.

The funeral for my niece is on Oct 27. We are looking into fights to Germany. Haven't decided when and how long we will stay. We also need an international health certificate for Sadie. Which can't be older than 10 day's.

I need to get ready for PT. I will be back later.

Doreen - Scary about the snakes! Yikes!!

Diane - Sorry about your low back and hip pain, I wonder what that was all about? I hope you are ok today. Good job on all the workouts you did, that was great considering how you were feeling. The band workout looked good, I might try it one of these days. Enjoy your rest day today and have fun with your ladies group!! No, that meeting isn't mandated, its our endowment committee. But still, they should have all been there. Very frustrating.

Belinda - Does Caroline have something new yet? I thught I saw a full body workout but that was a couple days ago. I wonder why she hasn't been on much? Must be taking a break. Great job with your Fuel workouts!!

Roselyn - Good job with Back and Biceps. What workouts are you doing?

Roxie - Were you be girl? Hope you are doing well.

Jolie - I thought I saw a post from you yesterday but now it's not there. Maybe I was dreaming. LOL! Have a great workout today!

Have a great day everyone!!

Yesterday was a rest day, it was my 24th anniversary so I spent the day with my husband who took the day off! Wow, he has never taken the day off, so it was a surprise. We had a great day, we went shopping for some new furniture, but found nothing and then went to a beautiful lunch. Today woke up with shoulder pain and the lump on my collar bone was larger than normal and I had little range of motion. I am so sick of this thing!!! I am trying to get into see my doctor, but I cannot get an appointment for another month! I emailed her to see if she had an emergency slot they could get me into because this is ridiculous. I have had this issue since August. Today's workout was Les Mills Combat workout #80, 30 minutes and I used 1# gloves. This surprisingly helped me get some range of motion back in my should and loosened up the chest area from all of the punches and hooks. Next, I did an upper body circuit, 2 rounds and total time of workout was 48 minutes. The Les Mills workout had abs at the end, I did not add them to the circuit.

I did not rest between exercises.
Chest Press- 20's x 20, x 20
1 Arm Rows- 20# x 20, x 20
Upright Rows- 12's x 20, x 20
Bicep Curls with a Twist- 12's x 20, x 20
Lying Cross Body Triceps Ext.- 12# x 20, x 20

Debbie, great job on getting a walk in today. Bummer about your work meeting, people not showing up is disrespectful to everyone and I would think there would be repercussions for this behavior. People's time if valuable but a lot of people could care less...

Belinda, great job on the workout.

Doreen, I hear you about the snakes, a few years back my little dog was bite in the face and darn near died. It only cost $4800 to save him!!! You better carry a snake bit kit with you or that could be a big problem if someone gets bit, and you are far from help.

Roselyn, nice job on the workout.

Diane Sue, I hope you have a nice rest day.

Make it a great day.

Jolie- A kit is a good idea - we normally carry first aid if we're out in the national forest or something but not normally if we're just on a short hike near town. I've also been looking into the rattlesnake vaccine. I've heard it can buy some time to get to medical help if a dog gets bitten.

This morning I did a 36 minute interval ride in Iceland. We ended at a beautiful waterfall. 2 minutes of effort, 2 minutes of recovery. I was sweating buckets- always do with the bike for some reason.

So after my excellent workout yesterday and sitting at my desk for a few hours, I get up and my knee is all swollen again!!! I just don't understand what is going on, I was totally fine doing that workout, no pain at all. It hurts a bit to walk but not really bad but it sure does feel swollen. I've iced it several times since last night and that helps but now that I'm sitting here at work again, it's getting worse. Tomorrow I have the Bus Drivers Banquet and I will be setting up the hall all morning and that will be horrible. I think if it doesn't subside by Monday I will contact my doctor and see what the next step should be. I've had an xray, then she said to do PT which I did and it helped a lot. Not sure what triggered this or what could even be causing it?

Even so, I had an excellent workout this morning. Figured since I can't do cardio I'd so some lifting. So I did two of the 1 Body Part workouts Kelly has recently posted.

I first did RAW Chest and I really liked it. Very fun workout. I really wanted to go heavier but I'm so worried about hurting myself, I feel like I'm falling apart. So this is what I did:

Do each exercise one after the other, 10 reps and repeat 3 more times. So total of 4 sets/10 reps:

Incline Flies: 15's for all 4 sets
Connected Bench Press: 15's/15's/17.5's/17.5's
Flat Bench Press: 15's/20's/20's/20's

Finisher: CG Bench Press into Flyes into Pullover - 10's/10 reps

Great workout. Then I did the Arms workout:

Then I did RAW Arms and it was suppose to be four exercises in a row, then repeat for a total of 4 sets with 10 reps each. But Kelly was all over the place with this one. So this is how it went:

Dumbbell Curls: 12's - 10 reps
Overhead Triceps Extension: 10's - 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Overhead Triceps Extension: 10's - 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Kickbacks: 10's - 10 reps
Kickbacks: 10's - 10 reps
Dumbbell Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Overhead Triceps Extension: 10's - 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Kickbacks: 10's - 10 reps
Dumbbell Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Overhead Triceps Extension: 10's - 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 15's - 10 reps
Kickbacks: 10's - 10 reps

Finisher: Supinated Curls/Tricpes Push Down/Curl Up/Down - repeat this several times. 10's

Total workout was 48 minutes, burned 349 calories and HR was 121/145.

Jolie - Happy Anniversary! I feel like you guys just celebrated that! Sounds like you had a great time, that is awesome!! I hope you can get into your doctors soon, I think I need to make an appointment for my knee, not sure what is going on with it. It's always something, so sick of it. Great job on your workout, killed it!

Have a great workout everyone!!!

The dog woke me up barking at 4:15 this am and I barely fell back asleep before my alarm went off so I was dragging... I did 25 minute studio cycle and arms this morning. It was ok for a quick workout. I need to get back into lifting so I'm ready for when STS 2 comes out! I've been kinda off that wagon for a while doing bodyweight and HIIT workouts.

Evening,

I had doc appointments this morning. I did FUEL Series 30 Min Glutes & Hamstrings Tempo Workout | Day 23 today.

I will not take a rest day tomorrow, I will try to finish Fuel before I fly next week.

Debbie - I am so sorry about your knee. That is what's happening with my knees, they are so swollen. I go to PT now. They show me how to do LB exercise without aggravating my knees and of new stretches. Most of the exercise/stretches I do laying on my back to take the pressure of my knees.

Jolie - happy anniversary. Sounds like you both had a lovely day.

I will be back tomorrow.

Today I did CDorner Low Impact Walking workout 38 minutes, heart rate 145/177, 234 calories, 3,679 steps. She uses 2# dumbbells near the end of this workout. I have been getting higher heart rates lately. Not sure if it is because I have loosened my watch a bit since my new band keeps grabbing my skin in the latch. I think the workouts that are steady state get my heart rate up more though because when there is pauses to learn or off and on cardio my heart rate plummets. I really wanted to do a strength workout but decided to give it another day. My low back still feels a bit off. I also did CDorner Core Mobility workout from yesterday, 28 minutes, heart rate 79/96, 46 calories, 205 steps. This had balance work and some plank work like bird dog and had more movement to it till near the end. I cut it a bit short as I do not like the lying there and relaxing thing. Total time was 66 minutes, 290 calories, 3,884 steps. I had a great time with my friends yesterday even though I was dragging out the door. Hardly any sleep. I woke at 3 am, finally fell back to sleep and my dog work me up at 4 and I had to get out of bed to let her outside and clean up the rug. Then I went back to bed and had just fell asleep when my husband came in and that woke me back up. I did not post yesterday evening because I was tired and had spent time shampooing the carpet before I went to bed. Thankfully only the bedrooms have carpet.
I am going to try a new curcumin supplement that one of my friends doctor gives her. I found it on Amazon, but I could get it from their store as the manufacturer has a store, Ultra Botanika that sells it.
Amazon.com: Ultrucur Advanced Dairy Free, Clinical Strength Curcumin with Devils Claw Extract and Boswellia - 60 Capsules : Health & Household She says it is really helping her and she is older than I am. She says her doctor is a regular medical doctor, but does naturopathic stuff as well. He gave her some recipe to mix and drink for healing when she had to have shoulder surgery.

Jolie, the lump on the collar bone sounds strange. I hope you get in to see the doctor soon. It seems like an odd place to get a lump and then the shoulder pain too. It sounds like you had a nice day with your husband. Happy Anniversary. We found it best to just shop furniture online as the stores all seem to have to order it and there is a wait. I don't know why it is, but it sure seems hard to get an appointment with a doctor without doing it way in advance. I guess they just figure we can go to emergency or an urgent care center. I was surprised when I got an appointment quickly for my eye exam as I had called more than one eye doctor for my husband last year and they were all busy for a couple of months or more. Most upcoming appointments I have were made 6 months to a year in advance.

Debbie, nice workout yesterday. That is a fun one. I am sorry your knee keeps giving you problems and swelling. Mine was doing that a few months ago and I finally went shopping for bell bottoms so my knee was not squeezed in jeans too tight around my knee when it swelled. It finally let up, but I think mine was due to an arthritis flare as my neck and everything was hurting. I up my curcumin and boswellia supplements when I have a lot of pain and swelling. I hope you did not have too much trouble with your knee prepping for the bus banquet. I think the Butt and leg CDorner workout I did last Thursday set off the low back pain and then the next day I did some of her kickboxing. I should have given it a break, you know how we work through things. I just figured it was from picking up heavier weights for the deadlifts. I want to do that chest workout, but I am so afraid of my rib area pain coming back. It hurt along with my lower back two nights ago and that was just with me doing a set of planks and a couple of those upper body and ab moves from Mondays band workout. Everytime I think it is gone, I do a workout that impacts that area and the pain is back.

Doreen, I bet it will still be quite a while before those new workouts come out.

Belinda, nice workout on the Fuel hamstrings and legs. I hope the doctor appointment went well.

Roselyn nice work on chest and triceps.

No workout today, I will be on my feet most of the day and with the way my knee is right now, less is best. It was bad yesterday, felt a better this morning but now that I'm sitting again, it's starting to swell and hurt. Hopefully since I won't be sitting much today it will be ok, but I have a feeling walking around so much won't be good either. So frustrating.

No time for personals, getting ready to head to the hall to set up for my bus driver banquet tonight. Have a great day everyone!!

I did a Penny Barnshaw 30 minute Strenght, Back, Shoulders, Bi's workout today. Then I finished with 15 minutes on the rowing machine. I just feel like I'm loosing strength and cardio fitness. I know I ride my bike more but I think I need to start adding in step and kickboxing to my routine again. Though I must confess - my knees feel better without the jumping/impact. I had to switch because the puppy would get in the way when I was doing any type of movement around the floor and I would trip. But now that he's older maybe I can convince him to sit off to the side and stay out of my way. When I'm on the bike or rower he just lays beside me. If I'm doing burpees or push ups or planks he jumps on my back though!! I can't break him of that!

Yesterday was rest day number 2 for the week, I just did not feel much like working out so I took my dog for a long walk instead. Today I woke up feeling energized and I took advantage of it and had a great workout. I started with an uphill walk on the TM, 45 minutes, traveled 2.5 miles and burned 449 calories. Next, I did a circuit and did 2 rounds of it, I went lite with the weights, so I do not aggravate my shoulder and clavicle area. Total calorie burn was 615. I added a good stretch at the end of the workout, I think that I do not stretch the muscle enough after weightlifting.

Chest Press- 20# x 16, x 16

1 Arm Horizontal Row- 15# x 16, x 16

1 Arm Lateral Raise- 10# x 16, x 16

Hammer Curls- 12's x 20, x 20 (easy so I did extra reps)

Close Grip Chest Press- 15's x 20, x 20 (easy so I did extra reps)

Leg Ext.- 40# x 24, x 20

Debbie, I hear you about all of these injuries we are experiencing lately!!! Damn, we can never get a break it seems like and it never seems to be the same issue. Nice job on the workout yesterday and I hope you knee feels better.

Doreen, I hate when I get a poor night's sleep, I barely make it through the day. At least you did something for your workout, I would have called it a day LOL!

Diane Sue, nice workout yesterday. Yes, this lump on my collar bone is odd and it is painful when I move my arm that has the shoulder issue. I have an appointment with my doctor next month so maybe I will get to the bottom of the issue. I put DMSO on it prior to my workout today and it is a lot better. I woke up this morning and it has gone down quite a bit, I even slept better last night too. I might go to urgent care but they usually tell me to go see my primary doctor so why spend half the day waiting to be told that!!!

Great job with the workouts everyone. Make it a great day.
