Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2024

Today I just did CDorner mobility day 2 seated on a chair neck and shoulders and also did STS 2 chair yoga, + some stretching for upper body and a bit of mobility to loosen up my knee a bit. I mostly kept my legs propped up today, but it sure puts me in odd positions and my back started aching. I did not take any Advil because I was afraid it would up my blood pressure. I did tonight though. I need some rest. It is odd that my blood pressure is in the high zone in the morning and when I take it before be it is normal. Tonight, the high number was 98. I think it is because I have started taking the Qunol blood pressure chews with beets and grape seed along with CoQ10 after dinner because they make me feel drowsy. I read that beet supplements are best taken at night. Maybe I should take on in the morning and one at night. Because of the leaky heart valve, I have to watch the high numbers. After I took the compression sleeve off last night the bruising had run down into my shin area. I sure hope this mends itself.

Debbie, nice work with Raw Boxing/Shadowboxing and TBTS Box and Tone. I really liked the workout I did. Kelly sets out the weight increments in front of the bench so they are easy to reach down and pick up what is needed. She keeps a light pair or egg weights nearby also for boxing between moves. It worked out great. I imagine a person could stand up to do the boxing if needed, but I got a good workout out of it sitting. I really liked it. I avoid salt for the most part because of my issue with Sjogren's. It leaves my mouth so dry it wakes me up at night. I chew gum when I sleep and it literally crumbles because my mouth is so dry. I pay for it when I eat things like salty nuts and eating out. I have been drinking some orange juice mixed with water or an organic tart cherry juice I get from Whole foods that have potassium in them in the mornings lately. I think it helps some.

Belinda, nice work on the Belly Dance today. This is the time of year where we get a lot of windy days. It is supposed to rain tomorrow. My knee has been really painful by the time evening gets here. I think it has been a little better today, but I did succumb to an Advil this evening and have rubbed some stuff called Herbal Manna frankincense DMSO gel on it. Trying to avoid many NSAIDS.

This morning I did RAW Total Body Drop Sets and had a great workout. I did this once before and really liked it. I went heavy again today.

Each drop set was 10 reps

Front Curl/Arnold Press: 20's/15's (the 20's were killer!)
Crush Grip Hold Goblet Squat: 30#/25#
Pullover: 30#/20#
Double Arm Swings: 15's/12's - 16 reps (Kelly does 20 reps)
One Arm Row: 30#/25#
Squat Press: 15's/12's
One Arm Bench Press: 20#/15#

I also walked on my treadmill for 1.1 miles and 23 minutes.

Total workout time was 56 minutes, burned 377 calories, HR was 117/151. Went 2929 steps.

Belinda - Great Belly Dance workout yesterday!! How is your DD doing?

Diane - I also have high blood pressure and I was told to take Tylenol. It helps a lot for pain so maybe try that instead of Advil. Tylenol does not raise blood pressure. And wow, I have a leaky heart valve too. At first they said I had Aortic bicuspid but after 10 years of Echo's, they finally realized I do not have that. These doctors, I don't know. I will try that workout soon, the seated boxing workout she does is almost the same, just no weights. It is a good boxing workout and I did that one a lot after my knee surgery. You chew gum when you sleep? Aren't you afraid of choking? I sure hope your knee gets better.

Jolie - Where are you? I hope you didn't have a set-back from not feeling well this past weekend.

Wish Doreen, Roxie and Cam would come back.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I totally forgot to check in yesterday, where has my head been lately? I took the pup for a 5 mile walk, he has been very naughty and so I wanted to tire him out so he would settle down. Walk was 1 hour 36 minutes and I burned 685 calories. Today I signed back up for Cathe Live, miss the longer weight workouts lately. I will keep my RAW subscription going too, I like to mix them throughout the week, so I do not get bored. I also want to do the R and R workouts with my Max Trainer when I get back in my gym soon. Also, I love the RAW boxing workouts, I am seeing results by doing them with the egg weights. I am loving Yvette Bachman workouts as well, I guess I will not be bored going forward. Today's workout was CL #136 Upper Body Challenge with the Ball and had an excellent workout. This has an ABS segment at the end, I really need to focus more on ABS for my low back strength. Workout was 1 hour and I burned 441 calories. I feel really good today.

Debbie, great job on the workouts the past two days. I have done that boxing workout that you suggested, it is really fun!

Diane Sue, I hope you are feeling better today! I got my blood pressure down by the beets supplements and the most important supplement is Olive Leaf 40%. It is a must along with minerals or it just wont get to the number you are trying to achieve without it. Olive Leaf, Calcium, Minerals, Beets, Grape Seed Extract, COQ10, and Salt will get it to come down. The doctors say not salt but it is white table salt that will increase the number. Use the Pink Salt and you will be surprised what it can do for you. Great job in getting some workouts in while you are going through all of this crap!

Belinda, way to go on the Belly Dance workout, it always sounds like so much fun!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Today I did Raw Lower Body Limitations (upper body ;) ) again. This was 37 minutes, 186 calories, heart rate 126/156. I followed it with Raw Stretch/flow, but stopping where she had her knees on the floor and moving to the end part. I did add a couple of other movements as my right hip flexor is getting really tight. This was still 20 minutes, 33 calories. Total time 57 minutes, 219 calories.

Debbie, great job on Raw Total Body Dropsets and treadmill walk today. I remember you doing the boxsit workout when you were having the knee issues. My cardiologist gave me Lovastatin saying it was plantbased and cause less problems. I tried it and 3 weeks later I had mouth sores in the back of my mouth near my throat. I quit. Tried again later and the same thing so I told him I was not taking them anymore. He said I was alright as long as I keep my blood pressure down. They put me through a stress test and a couple of ultrasounds. I have an appointment coming up and do not want to go in with blood pressure for sure. They changed my appointment without telling me. I went online and was going to move it as it was supposed to be tomorrow. They made it in April and I guess I am seeing a NP now. I do not worry too much about choking on a small piece of trident gum. I tried all kinds of dry mouth lozenges and I did choke on a few of those plus they do not work. My mouth would get dry anyway, I would fall asleep and wake up choking on the silly things. Drinking sips of water lasts seconds as it seems to disappear like I put it on a sponge.

Jolie, nice work on yesterday's walk. I hope your dog settled down for you. You have quite a selection for workouts. I get bored too and move back and forth with different instructors and types of workouts.
Nice work on Cathe Live# 136 Upper Boy Challenge. You get a lot of ab work with the Raw boxing works. I take a bone support supplement and the Thorne Multi Elite am and PM have minerals in both. They cover pretty much everything including curcumin in the am one.

Hi,

I did another dance workout today.

Diane - I hear you on taking meds. Sorry your knees are still bordering you. Evening are the worst for me too. I think once I sit down, I noticed the pain more. Great job yesterday. Feel better.

Debbie - great job on your workout today. DD is doing much better. She still has to make some follow up appointments.

Roselyn - great job on your shoulder workout today.

Diane - great job on your lower body today.

Jolie - they are very fun. Belly dancing is also repetitiv, although the instructor makes it fun with dance combos. I love what we learned and she makes a little dance combo. The veil is A little tricky without strangling yourself, lol. Nice job on your walk.

Good night.

This morning I did RAW Kickbox NRG and had a great workout. Such a fun cardio workout, it really is a lot of fun. No weights or egg weights for this one, just plain cardio. I also got on my treadmill and walked a mile. So glad it's Friday, I an exhausted.

Total workout time was 52 minutes, burned 389 calories, did 5677 steps and HR was 128/159.

Jolie - Great job on your workouts! It's good that you are doing a different selection of workouts, keeps it fun. I should subscribe to CL again. I might, I sort of miss those workouts but I'm always afraid of pulling something when I do Cathe. Those workouts don't seem to like my body anymore. I might, though, just to see what she has going out there now.

Diane - Great job with Lower Body Limitations. I'll do that one next week, looking forward to it. Such a deceiving title for that workout. I never did it because of my knee surgery thinking it was a leg workout, and then I forgot about it. Why are doctor's offices changing people's appointments without telling them? They did that to my brother for an MRI. Had he not gone into his MyChart, he would have never known it was changed. I wonder why they think that is ok to do? I swear, our healthcare is turning into a socialist type program. Scary. Crazy that you are able to chew gum at night. My mouth gets dry too, but I get up and drink some water and that seems to take care of it. One of your meds or supplements must be sucking the water content out of your body. Could that be possible?

Roselyn - Great job with your workout!

Belinda - Glad to hear your DD is better. I'm sure that was a scary situation!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning,

XTrain Bi & Tri is done. It’s so cold outside. What happened to the warm weather?

Debbie - great job this morning. Yes, it was scary. DD is doing better. Thank you.

BBl

Today I did Raw Box Sit 29 minutes, 175 calories, heart rate 142/167. I also did STS 2.0 Chair yoga, 20 minutes, 63 calories, I used my Withings app which is linked to MFP and forgot to start the Garmin so calories burned is what Withings gave. Total time was 238 calories, 49 minutes. I was surprised at how the Box Sit got my heart rate up today.

Debbie, nice work on on Raw Kickbox NRG and the Treadmill today. It seems most Drs offices are using the internet for stuff rather than using a phone. I am still waiting on the pulmonologist and will probably have to contact them myself. They gave me a specific time period to come back and wanted me to see the actual pulmonologist himself and they were checking on when I last had my lungs screened for the nodules which was the original thing I was going for. I tried to get an appointment before I left and the receptionist told me the doctor did not have his calendar up for that time period yet. So I am hearing nothing. It has been 5 over 5 weeks now. My arthritis doctors clinic was training a whole new staff of receptionists.

Belinda, nice work on XTrain Bis and Tris today.

Checking in with a couple of days' worth of workouts.
Thursday, I posted I did the Cathe Live upper body workout and afterwards I got on my TM and walked 3 miles in 1 hour.
Friday, 4 mile walk with the pup, all flat walking no hills for once.
Saturday, I walked 5 miles on my TM while watching a tennis match. I burned 621 calories in 1 hour and 36 minutes.
Today I woke up with a back spasm, I have been stretching and that is all for the day.

I hope you all have a great Palm Sunday! I cannot believe that it is almost Easter, it seems like it was just Christmas!

Hi,

Today was suppose to be a rest day. I did GS Legs today. I have my infusion tomorrow, hopefully I don’t feel like the last time.

We plan on picking up the RV on Thursday. Right now the weather doesn’t look too bad. We are keeping an eye on the weather. We are not driving in snow.

Diane - nice job on the Raw Box sit. I would be frustrated too. I hope you get an appointment with your pulmonologist and arthritis doctors soon.

Jolie - great job on your workouts this week.

I will try to check in later on Monday.

This morning I did RAW Kickboxing and used my 1.5# egg weights. Love this workout. I also did 2 rounds of TBTS Strength Abs and used a 10# dumbbell for that. My abs were really working hard through the boxing and ab work. I'm surprised I have such a fluffy waistline, I do a lot of boxing and am always pulling my abs in. Sort of bums me out. I know it's age, but still...

Workout was 51 minutes, burned 395 calories, did 3562 steps and HR was 133/177.

Roselyn - great workouts!

Have a great day everyone!

No workout yesterday or today. I have a low back spasm and I will not workout till it goes away. I have learned my lesson the last time this happened, and I tried to push through it and it got so bad I was out for weeks. I have a Chiro appointment tomorrow to get some cool laser done, that usually does the trick. I have my son coming home from college on Thursday for Easter and I am also meeting up with my parents on the weekend. I am sure I will get very few workouts done for this week due to the company and holiday. It is ok, I am due for a nice rest anyways. I hope you all have a great week if I do not check back in but I am sure I will.

Debbie, great job with the boxing workout today, I love those workouts!

Belinda, I hope you love your motorhome when you pick it up!

Roselyn, way to go on the workouts.

Diane Sue, great job on the RAW box sit workout! I would be beyond frustrated with the doctors.

Have a wonderful day.

Evening,

I am done with Invisalign. I am waiting for my permanent night retainers. Yeah!

I have no workout to report. I started cleaning my house and packing up the car for Thursday. DH and I will go to an Expo in Richmond tomorrow. We have very little time to get anything done tomorrow. Glad the house is done. Laundry is done. Now I am tired. I will try to get up super early tomorrow morning to get my weight workout in.

Where is Diane?

Jolie - we owned an RV for 14 years. I am sure we love the new one.We saw the RV at the Hershey RV show. We picked it, with lots of upgrades.

Debbie - nicely done with your Kickboxing workout.

Roselyn - great job on your workout.

Good night.

This morning I did RAW Lower Body Limitations, which is an upper body weight and boxing workout. It was a good workout, I enjoyed it. I did all the boxing stuff standing. Since I don't have lower body limitations, I wanted to move around a bit more.

I started with TBTS Warmup.

This was 45 seconds and either 10 or 15 seconds off, couldn't tell which. It might have even been 12 seconds. Weird.

Each segment is done 3 times:

Seated Alternate Rows: 20's (should have used 25's)
Hooks: 1.5 egg weights
X3

Seated Hammer Curls: 15's/20's/15's
Jabs: 2# handweights
X3

Alternate Shoulder Press: 12's (killer!)
Upper Cuts: 2# hand weights
X3

Skull Crushers: 12's
Jab/Hooks: 2# hand weights
X3

Miitary Bench/Flies: 15's (military bench is close grip bench)
Jabs/Hooks/Ups/Crunch: 2# hand weights

Lower Ab work
X3

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 357 calories and HR was 132/164.

Belinda - Have fun with adventure!! Glad you are done with Invisiline! Woo hoo! Great job getting up at 3:30 to workout!! Dedicated for sure.

Jolie - So sorry to hear about your back, damn. It never ends, it seems. I'm just waiting for my upper back to start hurting again. I'm sure your Chiro will be able to help. Take it easy and have a nice rest period. We all need those sometimes!

Diane - Where are you? Starting to get worried, I hope you are ok.

Have a great day everyone!! 2 more days and I'm off for Spring Break!! Yay!!!

So yesterday was my birthday and it wasn't a great one. For one my DH had to go out of town so couldn't be with me (although we celebrated the night before so that was awesome), but as he was traveling he was hit by a 91 year old man and totaled my dh's car and the older man's car flew in the air and landed upside down. My dh is a bit banged up but doing ok but the other guy has a broken arm and at the time we didn't know what else and still don't know. He was unconscience when they took him by ambulance. It happened in an intersection where my dh had the right of way and the older man went through a stop sign. Sorry, but people should just stop driving by the age of 80. I know when I hit 80 I wouldn't like that but it is so unsafe to have these older people on the roads - especially 91!! So I have to go get him after work (he's 2 hours away) and bring him home. We'll have to get a new car and all that. What a headache. I'm just so thankful my dh is ok. He scared the crap out of me when he called me.

Anyways, I didn't get much sleep last night so I only walked on my treadmill today. Workout was 41 minutes, burned 337 calories, went 2 miles, did 4912 steps and HR was 126/161.

Hope you all have a great day. My spring break starts at 3:00 today!! Yay!!
