Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2021

Today was all CDorner workouts. I started with Cardio Mash Up, 46 minutes, heart rate 139/167, 270 calories, 4,081 steps. ( I think the blaze does not count steps as well as the Versa 2 as I notice discrepancies)

I then did Quick at Home Upper Body, 30 minutes, heart rate 100/142, 80 calories, 733 steps. I finished with her Neck and Shoulder Stretch, 19 minutes, 20 calories, 68 steps(not sure how that happens sitting on the floor). Total time 96 minutes, calories burned 370, 4,882 stpes.
CDorner Quick at Home Upper Body
30 seconds each move,
Curl and Press (option just do curls) 12# dbs I did just curls
triceps kickbacks 12# dbs
biceps curls with a twist alternating 15# dbs

Side raise/front raise 8# dbs(me 5#)
Row Kickback 12# dbs (second time I used 10's) (option is to do overhead triceps extension)

repeat
final part is pretty much mobility non weighted moves
arm crosses
arms up and down with wrist turn up and down (like flying lol)
arms extended twist
arms reach out and pull in at sides
stretch

Today I walked on my treadmill for about 25 minutes and then I did CDorner #6 - 30 minute Mobility for Hips, Shoulders and Neck. I really wish this had more for the neck and shoulders, it was mostly hips, but even that felt good. I need to do more of her stretching workouts, though, this one was almost a bit too much for me as she did down dog and a lot of plankish type things. That bothered my tricep so I had stop on them early. However, I have to say I am feeling better. I should have been doing these types of workouts all along - I know Jolie kept reminding me that yoga helped me before - I should have listened. My tricep still has a bit of pain but now it's different. It's not a tightness pain, its a more loosened pain if that makes sense. I am having no upper back issues right now and my shoulder seems fairly normal again. So progress for sure.

I don't have time for personals this morning because I have to go help with Mock Trial. I'll try to be back later!! Great workouts everyone!!

I did two rounds of a Penny Barnshaw Tabata weights and then a Lindsay Bomgren Push day workouts (chest, triceps) which was a great workout!

I noticed Carolyn Girvan started a kettlebell series - I'm going to need to check that one out!

I took yesterday off just to be kind to myself for once :) Today I did it, I signed back up for Cathe Live, I was going to buy a few more workouts and my husband said to just sign up because it is cheaper and this way I will have the variety if I want it, so I did. I did one of my favorites, Glassboro Road Trip and had a fantastic workout. I have lost so much strength since the last time I did this workout. I had to go down in weights in everything, but that was probably a good thing, easing back into my workouts, slowly but surely. Since I have Cathe's workouts written down, I stay on round ahead of her so I can go slower or do more reps with lighter weights. This worked out really well for me. I had to sub out almost all of the AB exercises for exercises that I know will not hurt my back. I still had a great workout! Total workout time was 55 minutes, I paused a few times and stretched at the end. Total calories burned was 378, heart rate was 113/157. I am so happy to be back at it, I find I need a class to follow or I just dont stick with it.

Since I started Intermitted Fasting 4 days ago, 8 hours eating, 16 hours fasting, I have lost 1 inch in my waist and I do NOT have HOT FLASHES anymore. This is one of the best way to balance hormones and I can see why people do it. It is really easy, I just have a big meal at 3:30pm and then by 4pm No food or drinks besides water till 8 am the next morning. I find it easy to do.

Debbie, nice workout today. I am so happy that you are basically pain free now, keep it up. I am too, except for my left elbow and wrist are out but I will be getting those fixed soon. I am sorry to hear about your uncle, it is so sad to see our family members go. I am so worried about my dad, he is 88 and that is getting up there in age. I will never be the same when he goes, I love him to death and he is a huge part of my life, same with my mom but she is 85 years young.

Belinda, Great job getting some workouts in while visiting your daughter. There is NO way that I am getting vaccinated!!!

Doreen, I would have cancelled too, you have too much going on in your life to have to stick to something for a long period of time. Great job with the workout.

Diane Sue, I hope you have a nice workout today.

Roselyn, I hope you have a nice workout today too!

Make it a wonderful day!

Today I did CDorner Cardio Step Aerobics Int/Adv, started wth 4 minutes of the dance workout and decided the turns were a bit much right now for my knee. I don't know if I mentioned that I climbed over boxes and storage bags to get some touch up paint and caught my foot in a bag handle and fell on my hip and elbow on the pavement in the garage a couple of nights ago. This workout was 62 minutes with the dance, 369 calories(Blaze) 6,027 steps, heart rate 141/182. I also did one of her mobility workouts, 25 minutes, heart rate 86/111 heart rate, 30 calories, 57 steps. Total time 88 minutes, 399 calories, 6,057 steps.
Finally have move in day settled. Yeah. I may not workout next week. I will see. We have school the 3 days before move in. A lot to get done yet, but most cabinets an closets are empty.

I forgot to mention the CDorner Mashup yesterday was fun, a bit of dance type moves like pony etc,, boxing with speed bags, hi/lo. Not a lot of jumping. It also had different types of music throughout. Some I loved more than others. No step in that one. I think I have done the Step workout I did today before, but it could be just similar moves. The mobility had you hold the yogi squat for what seemed like forever. I had to get out of it a couple of times as my legs were on fire. She adds upper movement to this while holding and reaches out with hands still in position. Maybe I just need those yogi squats or something because I always dislike them, but push to do them. It is funny, with all of the streaming and youtube I have been doing I packed my dvds, all but two from Step Boss. It will be convenient having access without worrying where my dvds are located.

Belinda, nice work today and yesterday. I hope you like your hair when you are done.

Debbie, good luck with the mock trial :) I think I need work on everything in my body LOL. I am glad that you are doing so much better. Those mobility workouts are nice. When my neck and shoulders are really hurting those down dog moves with planks are rough. The front of my shoulders feel so much better today. No pain from yesterdays quick upper body, but I did modify and lighten up on some moves.

Doreen, I was going through my youtube do later workouts and I have a Penny Bradshaw one there that you had posted. one day I will get to those workouts I have in my watch later folder. I cleared out ones I have already done and a couple of my grandson's gaming vids that he saved there.

Jolie, it is good to be kind to ourselves once in awhile. That is great that you got Cathe Live again. I will one day sign up again, but I am enjoying what I have been doing and I still have Raw workouts. I will have the Tread Climber in a workout space when we move so I may use it more again. It has been in our bedroom for 6 years and my husband sleeps daytime hours. The new house has 4 bedrooms/or 3 and an office. Although the workout equipment is going to have to be spread between two rooms. Not as big of rooms as the one I have over the whole garage here. I am thinking things like tread climber and spin bike in one and weights etc in the other. I will see how it works out. I remember following I believe the Wild Diet plan with the fat burning man and it was intermittent fasting. Until recently I have often had a long period from dinner till around noon or after the next day of no food. Just coffee and water. I need to put on weight unfortunately. I know that sounds crazy to many and I am not bragging. Just saying I am too low and look really skinny and my size 0 pants want to slide down. I am eating at night before bed, protein bowl and sometimes I am having a protein ball or bar mid morning to help me have more energy for my workouts. I am hoping once settled I can try to work on weights more and shorter cardio, maybe. That should help put some muscle weight back on. If I can work around painful areas. My arms and legs are looking terribly skinny.

I did two workouts this morning from Lindsey Bomgren.

Today I did Step Boss Step Sync combos 1,2, and part of 3 skipping a cooldown, 39 minutes, heart rate 134/165, 222 calories, 4,009 steps. I then did CDorner Lower Body Strength 100th Anniversary, first grouping as I did not want to spend too much time, but wanted to get in some lower body work. This was 41 minutes with a bit of extra stretching, heart rate 93/140, 80 calories,551 steps. Total time was 302, 81 minutes, 4560 steps.

Lower Body Strength 100th anniversary has 2 phases the second part seems to be floor moves, but I did not preview all of it, but gathered it is a lot of reps as she makes comment about this.

Doreen, nice work on the kettle bell workout and the Hiit workout. The kettlebell looks good other than the overhead press. No music?

Good morning,

I ask for a refund for JS lift and shift. I only done 2 workouts. Only had the set for a week.

Today I will do a SBF stretch and maybe a walk.

Jolie - yeah! I love CL more than I though I would. She has a lot of variety on her site. I can't remember the last time I used a dvd, lol. The more I hear about the vaccination the more it scares me.

Debbie - glad you doing much better. I love everything about Chris workouts.

Diane - great job yesterday.

Today my husband and I went for a walk along the beach on the trail and walked for 2 hours, fast paced, traveled 5.6 miles and burned 998 calories. I am tired after that walk, walking either on packed dirt or soft sand is really hard compared to the pavement or TM. I think I will sleep well tonight! Spring has sprung, Thank you Lord Jesus!!!

Doreen, Thanks for posting those workouts, I am going to check them out.

Everyone, great workouts today!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

This morning I did CDorner Cardio Core short workout 20 minutes, 41 calories, heart rate 98/138. That is all, I got a bunch of work done packing and doing some things outside, clearing the storage shed and sweeping it. Maybe I will do something in the morning. I will have to see. My husband told me to go ahead and order the Garmin Vivo Active 4S that I am wanting. It will be here Tuesday. I sure hope it works better than Fitbit. It has the wifi and SP02 , sleep and pretty much what the Fitbit Versa 2 does. School tomorrow.
I still need to go over that if I can before bed.

Jolie, nice calorie burn and being able to go for a walk with your husband. It is good that you got outside today.

Belinda, it has been years since I have done a Kari Anderson workout. I used to love her workouts. I don't have any now. Mine were vhs tapes.

Roselyn, I am glad that you had fun with your cousin and his wife. I have done one full Kickboxing CDorner work out so far. The mash up had a kickboxing segment. She seems to work really fast paced on the kickboxing. Fun though.

Good morning,

Perfect 30 UB plus SBF UB Core circuit is done.

Jolie - that's a lot of walking you and your husband did yesterday. Nice job!

Diane - I still like doing KA workouts. I still have a VHS player, lol. Never got rid of those workouts I liked. Gad I kept that one.

Have a great Monday.

This morning I did RAW Hi/Lo Step and had a pretty good workout. I really love this workout, I wish Kelly would do more of these.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 251 calories, did 4073 steps and HR was 122/159.

I also did my isometric exercises for my tricep. It is feeling a bit better so I'm happy aobut that. My shoulder doesn't hurt at all anymore. I think the inversion table helped correct that problem. I must have been out of alignment or something.

My birthday is coming up on Saturday, I will be 55 years old. Good Lord, where has the time gone? Amazing how fast life goes by. Incredible.

Diane - I'm curious how the Garmin will work versus the Fitbit. I'm about done with all these devices, I have tried so many during my life and they all do the same thing with my HR it seems. I remember those stupid chest strap ones I used to wear, those drove me nuts reading my HR. Great job with you workouts this weekend.

Jolie - So cool how your husband walks with you for so long, that is really nice. I'm looking forward to it getting warmer here so me and my DH can go walk in the parks.

Doreen - Nice workouts this weekend. The kettlebell one looks good.

Roselyn - Glad you are trying CDorner's workouts, they are so fun. I can't wait to be able to try one of her kickboxing ones.

Belinda - LMAO on still having a VHS player. Holy crap! That is funny! I'm finding I'm not even touching my DVD's let alone VHS workouts. The only DVD I've been using lately is Karen Voight's Yoga Flow Stretch workout that I love so much. I'm so afraid that DVD won't work anymore, it has scratches all over it. I will be heartbroken because I don't think you can find that workout anywhere anymore.

Have a great day everyone!!

This morning I did a GHUTV workout - Triple Threat 4. Like a bootcamp it was 4 rounds, 2 minutes of strength work, 2 minutes cardio work with the step, 2 minutes of core. It was really fun and I did take most of the low impact options.

Today I did CDorner 100th Step Workout Advanced 62 minutes(58 actual as I start moving as the workout is loading and she talks) heart rate 144/171, 388 calories, 5,867 steps. I also did one of her full mobility workouts, 30 minutes, 50 calories, heart rate 90/122, 323 steps. This one started out more active than others I have done. I liked it, but no neck stretches. It is mostly lower body and hands.
Total time 92 minutes, 438 calories, 6,190 steps.

Debbie, those straps were so annoying. I would launder it, keep stopping to put aloe vera or one of those special gels on it, adjusting it, and buying new ones. I contacted Polar many times and they were always saying probably interference. Or one of the last times they said I need to replace the strap every few months and they sent me another strap. Non of that stuff worked when I addressed it. Same thing with Fitbit. Blaze seems to be doing okay on the heart rate. I just want one watch that works halfway decent and I do not need to wear 2. There is a minor difference between, Fitbit app, and Blaze on the final calorie and heart rate sometimes. Only by 1 or 2 calories or bpm. I think my calorie burn today was much more normal for an hour work. CDorner's Adv workouts tend to move faster. The Polar watches were terrible. Even the bluetooth one I had. They would give me heart rate 0 or suddenly tell me it was 228 or something ridiculous.

Belinda, I have 2 dvd/vcr players and 1 vcr still. I just have hung on to them just in case. I really need to dub some of those vhs my husband has that are work event related off onto dvds. Those players are picky about what format the dvd/cd's are though. And you have to be able to play them on your other dvd players. You know, the dvd-rw, and we have one that uses RAM. I would have to find the manual. Those are the only vhs tapes I kept and a couple that we cannot find on downloads or dvd. I kept the original first time ever Snow White on VHS. I just couldn't throw it away. For all I know it is not any good anymore LOL
