Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2021

Debbie - I hang on to my VHS player for a few out of prints tapes, lol. I hardly use dvd's anymore either since I signed up for CL. I still will hang on to them, lol. Don't worry if your KV stretch goes kaputt, lol. You always can get that on on her site as a download. Not sure, what format?https://karenvoight.cinevee.com

Diane - like I mention to Debbie, I still have a few workout tapes that never made it to a dvd, they are still very good. I did get rid of the original Billy Blanks and Cathe's. I still have a case of Disney tapes, need to go through them. Why the hell I am keeping them? Beats me :(

Today I had a great workout, CL #25 Strong Upper Body and Core. Wow am I weak from the last time I did this workout!!! Oh well, that is the way it goes to be out of pain, right? Workout was 58 minutes, the only thing I had to sub out was a couple of the core/ab exercises, otherwise I did the whole thing with Cathe. I do the same weights as Cathe on almost everything, so I guess I am not that weak :) I think I am going to be very sore from this workout in the days to come. Total Calories burned were 362. This workout is 3 rounds of each circuit for each body part. The rounds consist of either a Tri-set or a Giant Set and each set is X 12 reps. This workout does not go too fast, I seem to like her earlier workouts better than her recent ones this past year.

Debbie, nice job on the Step workout today. Happy Birthday on Saturday! I am going to be 55 on June 2, so I know what you are talking about, time does fly by so quickly. I notice more as I get older. I am glad your shoulder is back to perfect!!! I have a chiro appointment tomorrow for my wrist and hand, it hurts really bad and it wont go back by itself.

Doreen, thanks for posting the Lindsey Bomgren KB workouts, I previewed them and they look like something I want to try soon. Nice workout today!

Diane, It sounds like you have your packing under control. I bet you are excited to get this behind you and unpacking again!!! Will you live closer to your daughter once you move? The last workout you posted looks great, you are really ramping back up to harder workouts lately.

Belinda, I still have my dvd/vhs players too! I use them all of the time. The only time I use my vhs is to watch my wedding video or another something that is old and in that version. Great job with the workout today. Is your weather getting warmer now?

Roselyn, I hope you have a great workout today.

Make it a great day. It is warming up a little this week and then getting cold again! I want sunshine all of the time :) As John Denver used to sing, " Sunshine on my shoulders makes me HAPPY" :)

Belinda, I just finally realized my grandchildren are not wanting to watch videos much anyway and they just sit here. The vhs tapes were purchased when my first group of grandchildren were young and I did home daycare. Now the younger children mostly watch streamed movies and videos. I do not have any Billy Blanks workouts anymore. I think I had two dvds, but I never used them. I am not a fan of tons of speed bag arms. I got rid of them with some others that I didn't use. Most of them I let my daughter sell.

Jolie, nice work with the weight workout today. It is just not worth pushing so hard we have to be miserable afterward. I want to try to build up some without hurting. I have felt weaker a lately, but I don't think my weights are that light. I am hoping to build some more. It is raining and chilly here today. I will live closer to my youngest granddaughter and her two children. It will be further from my other daughter who already lives outside the city a bit on a large parcel of land. My son and his wife did live just up the street from here in the house they grew up in, but bought a house and land further the other way too. So we will be further from them. Still, for most people it would not be bad. It will be about 30-45 minutes driving time, depending on the route taken. I try to avoid highways. Otherwise the turnpike is pretty convenient to either one of them and fairly quick.

This morning I walked on my treadmill for about 25 minutes and then I did CDorner's #14 - 30 Minute at Home Stretch and Mobility. Pretty good one, it would have been awesome if my tricep was 100%. Too much plank holds, etc. I had to stop about 20 minutes into it. But good one. Love these workouts.

No time for personals today, you all are kicking butt! Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

SBF D2 ADV. LB Barre Fire + LB Reset Stretch of her 63 day Spring into Joy Fitness Challenge. I also did JS 30 Day Mega burn = 40 min.

Debbie - great job this morning. I need to check that one out.

Jolie - did you burn your wedding video to a dvd/digital? I found one of my kids bday party when my son was only 2 years old. I need to get digital copy before something happened with the VHS. I am getting ready to convert all my photos digital in case something happened to the original photos. I already sorted them all out. Not getting rid of the original pictures. Yes, it's getting warmer outside. Yesterday it was in the 70's. Not bad.

Diane - I ask my kids if they wanted the Disney tapes, they don't want them. I actually got rid of Billy Blanks a long time ago. I donated all my workout dvd's/VHS's. It was the counting that I didn't like, lol.

Roselyn and Doreen - nice job yesterday.

BBL!

No workout today, I am going to the Chiro to get me wrist adjusted, it is hurting really bad and I cant get it to go back into alignment. I am also getting my ankle looked at, the Tallus bone keeps going out lately and I don't know why? Maybe the shoes I am using? I may not get a workout in on Wed. either because I have tree trimmers coming first thing in the morning and I am not sure if I will have time, so these will be my rest days for the week. Also, I am sore from yesterdays workout :)

Running late but great workouts everyone!!! I will check back in later once I get back home.

Quick check in as I have to get lunch and we have a zoom class. I did upper body weights today. My grandson has the workout space in a mess. He wrapped my b-line handle onto the spin bike and pulled on it and let it snap back and broke the handle :( Now I am going to have to get new tubing I think. I don't just handles on Amazon. I guess I would have to check BB or just get different tubing.
I started a CDorner arm workout and switched to another as it was back and shouder right off. So, I went to one that says 16 minute arms and is pretty much arms. Fitbit says 16 minutes, but I think that includes the other workout portion that I did. She does say you can repeat the moves on the 16 minute arm one. Workout was 16 minutes, 36 calories, heart rate 96/132, 323 steps which were partially taking care of things between the dog and my grandson.
First arm workout
w/up
bentover rows with pulses 15's(almost too much)
bench press 12's singles with a twist and 1 1/2s
loop band with arms in goal post position and pulling back squeezing upper backo_O(probably good but not with my issues)
dumbbell flys 10# dbs
she says repeat, but I stopped here

16 minute Arms upper Body workout everything 15/16 reps
twisting curls 16 reps 10# dbs(could have went heavier)
triceps kickbacks 12# dbs 16 reps
lateral and front raise alternating 5# dbs 16 reps
hammer curls 15# dbs 16 reps
Overhead triceps extension she uses 2 8's and I used 1 15# db 15 reps
overhead press(option front raise) 10# dbs 16 reps
biceps side curls 12# dbs 15 reps
lying triceps extension 12# dbs 15 reps
side lying rotation right 5# db 15 reps repeat on left
can repeat the sequence.

Caroline Girvan Power Kettlebell/ Full Body workout this morning - Wow - amazing workout! I love the flow of the moves in this one. And she got new music I think - I like it better than some of the music on EPIC.

Then I did one circuit of a Sydney Cummings Arm EMOM workout.

Great job with your workouts everyone! Anyone have plans for Easter?

This morning I did CDorner's #99 - Intermediate Step Aerobics and it was really fun. Loved the step moves she does in this and I caught on really fast. The workout shows its around an hour, but it's a live workout so her camera is off for a few minutes and then she talks a bunch. This one started at about 13 minutes in so the workout was around 45 minutes. Fun stuff. The music was just ok and luckily it wasn't very loud.

Workout was 50 minutes (I had to mess around with my cat to get him to eat), burned 272 calories, did 5021 steps and HR was 106/139. Not a heart pounding workout, but a good steady cardio workout. Really liked it.

Belinda - Good workouts yesterday! How are your knees doing lately? I need to watch how many step workouts I do, I'll have knee issues to deal with if I do too many, I'm sure. It's always something.

Jolie - Hope your wrist is better after your appointment. Ouch!

Diane - Aren't your grandkids back in school? I thought most of the country was back in school? Maybe just around here. How do you like Chris's weight workouts? I'd like to try one as soon as I feel like I can. Are hers similar to Cathe's where she never rests? Just curious. Chris seems to know how to workout safely, that is what I like about her. I need to figure out why I can log into my Cathe streaming account so I can stop the monthly subscription. It keeps saying my credentials are incorrect. WTH does that even mean?

Roselyn - Great workout yesterday, I need to get some leg work in soon. I really need it!

Doreen - Great workout this morning. I'm not a big kettlebell fan. I like it sometimes but only when it's mixed with other things. Nice job!!

Gotta go, have a great day everyone!!

QUick check, my husband is off and I need to get my grandson through some of his work and have their dad pick them up early so we can get things ready for tomorrow morning.
I really wanted to see how the new Garmin Vivoavtive4S does for a workout. So far I think I am really going to like it. I couldn't get it to connect at first, but my grandson was here and he has a Garmin watch and messed with it and got it to connect with the app. The app has a lot to it. Also the watch. Lots to learn, but I think I make things harder than they need to be. I need to look at the manual. I got it set up with MFP. It has lots of colorful graphs and stats. I didn't know how to pause and had started a workout and when I hit the button on screen I completely stopped and saved the workout. So I started over. I am sure there is a way to pause, but I don't know what it is as I kept pushing the upper button and starting laps last night and had a hard time stopping those laps. I used the alarm and it worked like Fitbit. Easy to stop on screen. I will show/tell some features when I have the time. Workout was 47 minutes, 263 calories, heart rate 139/165, This was CDorner Basic Step. I only see total steps for this morning and a graph, so after finishing this workout it was 5,277 steps. I mostly sit and have coffee and let the dog out in the mornings and it is usually around 500 steps by the time I start a workout. I will keep track next time unless I figure a way to get the workout steps on the app.

Debbie, most all of the schools are back in classroom. My granddaughter could be back in school, but the chose to sign her back on to the second semester of Edginuity. My grandson's elementary school that my daughter teaches at is not going back till fall is my guess. So, it will be May when school is out. I noticed CDorner workouts are not always the time it says. I forward through talking most of the time. Chris weight workouts are good. Some creative moves and she knows how to get the most out of non weighted workouts. I did an ab workout recently, the one with the discs and modified some as it had plank position stuff. My abs are sore for a couple of days now. Shoulders are sore from that brief upper workout yesterday. But, I mostly did arms. I want to try another total body when I can. Our schools were all open except the grandchildrens school till our covid cases went up and they set new mandates for awhile. Our governor took the mandates off and people to make their own judgements. Schools have opened back up. Of course some complain that it is reckless. It is ridiculous.

Doreen, nice work today.

As I was browsing Youtube last night I saw this walking workout and thought it looked interesting. I was planning on walking on my treadmill and thought I'd try this workout if it looked good. After previewing it, I decided to try it. It's from the channel called Brand Fitness and looks like it's geared more for women over 50. I did 80's Walking Workout and it was actually pretty good. My HR got up more than when I just walk on my treadmill so that was a plus. No impact at all, just things like V-step, side to side, pony, things like that. The music includes songs from Queen, J Geils, Fine Young Canibols and Janet Jackson. The instructor doesn't talk, she just cues you with her hands. It was pretty cool. I haven't watched any of the other workouts on this channel yet, but I will. It did have four ads appear during the workout.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 185 calories, did 3355 streps and HR was 115/152. I don't think I ever hit 152 though.

I also did CDorner's Neck and Shoulder Stretch which is only 18 minutes but it's a good one. I did this before.

Diane - interested in your review of your Garmin. Sounds like so far it's a keeper.

Gotta go, have a great day everyone!!!

Hi everyone! I got my wrist and ankle adjusted on Wed., they were both out of alignment as well as some other things, and I am still sore from it getting adjusted. I think my hand is still out somehow but I will wait and see what happens, it is better than before. Today I got on my TM and walked 75 minutes, an uphill challenge, traveled 4 miles, burned 811 calories and heart rate was 140/178. I watched a movie while walking so the time went by really fast. When is Spring coming! I need sun to be motivated and this gloomy sky thing is really getting me down! Rain again today :(
My son is flying home from college tomorrow for a quick weekend trip so I am so excited to see him!

Debbie, nice TM workout today! That workout sounds like fun and great for some variety.

Diane Sue, so excited to hear about the Garmin, I need a new device soon so maybe that is my next purchase.

Belinda, Did you like Rock it Sock it? I cant remember if I liked that workout or not, I will have to try it. Is it high impact?

Doreen, another great workout today, I think I previewed that workout. I will have to try it soon.

Roselyn, great job on your last workout!

Have a wonderful day, lots to do to get ready for my son to come home :)

Jolie - I did like Rock it Sock it. It was a lot of fun. Got a good calorie burn even thought I keep everything low impact. I burned 385 cal on that one, got over 7000 steps. There were a little high impact, but like I said you can keep it low impact. Great calorie burn, girl. Glad your wrist and ankle is adjusted. Have fun with your son.

Debbie - great find! Thanks for sharing. Looks like a lot of fun. BTW, I lost over 5 pounds since I mention I hit plateau. Who knew...all I had to do is to up my calories and protein. Not always easy, since I am not always hungry. Thank you again :)

This morning I walked on my treadmill and then did my isometrics exercises. My tricep is definitely feeling better but still not 100%. I am going to move onto other exercises come April and then I'll see where I go from there. Hopefully by May I can start lifting a bit again.

Treadmille workout was 40 minutes, burned 220 calories, went 1.86 miles, did 4523 steps and HR was108/133.

Belinda - Thank you for sharing Karen Voight's download, I will definitely get the Yoga Power one, I think that is actually Yoga Focus but renamed. How cool that those are out there, I may get a couple more because I LOVE her yoga and stretch workouts!! Interesting on losing 5 lbs., that is great. Usually the culprit is not eating enough. Weird, but true. Great job!!

Jolie - Great job with your walk on the treadmill yesterday. I usually read, that makes the time go by really fast. What movie did you watch? Hope your wrist feels better soon.

Diane - Hope all is going well. Are you moving? If so, hope it is going well and that you have no problems.

Gotta get to work, have a great Friday everyone!!!
