Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for June 2023

Today I woke up feeling a little bit better, my back made a loud popping noise in my sleep when I rolled over and I am sure something released at that time. I still have a little nerve pain as well running down from my left hip to my knee on the side of my leg. I have another Chiro appointment tomorrow afternoon so I am sure my doctor will get to the bottom of it. This too shall pass...

Today's workout was a 1 hour TM walk, up and down on a slight incline, traveled 3 miles and burned 448 calories. Next, I laid on a mat and did a Chest and Triceps workout, lite weights and high reps. I used 15's and 12's, 3 rounds of each circuit and each set was x 16 reps. Total workout time was 76 minutes and I burned 648 calories.

Debbie, great job on the walk on the TM today and sorry about the issue with the knot again yesterday. Yes, you can remove heavy metals from your body even the ones in your bones if you use a product that I purchase from my Chiro or Holistic doctor and Infared saunas work as well. The product that I am using is called Detoxosode Heavy Metals and it is a clear liquid you drink upon waking up in the morning on an empty stomach. I use it for 2 weeks, and it is amazing how you feel after the detox. I also use one for Chemicals and these have worked really well for me in the past. About running, I bet you could run if you start slow and just work your way up to it. Maybe, start on the Max Trainer and get the motion and movement going, and then try just jogging on the TM. I like to use my elliptical to get me going too, whatever gets me going and then when my body gets used to really moving it all just works out. Try jogging for 30 seconds, walking for 1 minute and repeat.

Diane Sue, I cannot believe you stay up till midnight, I go to bed at 8:30pm and that is hard for me to stay awake. Nice job on the STS workout yesterday.

Doreen, nice job on the workout. How is the weather in CO? Everyone seems to be having strange weather this year.

Belinda, good luck with your floor!!!

Make it a great day! I am just so happy that I am up and moving around and not in terrible pain today.

Doreen, you are so welcome! I also ordered a copy. Did you get anything else?

Debbie - you are welcome! Here is the link to the Addiction workouts. https://www.totalfitnessdvds.com/The-Addiction-Workout-6-DVD-Set-Merle-Silver-p/388.htm Can’t beat the price. I never seen it that low. I miss running a lot too. It wore out my knees. Good luck getting back into to it. Please go slow.

Cam - yes, I am following the STS 12 week rotation. The Recovery is only 12 min. I liked it with modifications. If I hear recovery, I’ll like a more slower pace like a stretch or yoga. Felt more like BW with some stretching to me. The mobility 1 is good.

Julie - glad you feeling better today. Thanks about the floor floor.

Diane - have a wonderful workout today.

I had the echocardiogram today. The cardiologist isn’t in today. Hopefully I will get the results tomorrow.

today is a much needed stretch. BBL

Today I did CDorner Fast Basic Step Aerobics, 21 minutes, heart rate 146/176, 133 calories, 1,866 steps. I then did CDorner Step and Barre stopping at the part where she picks up light dumbbells,22 minutes, heart rate 118/142, 1,286 steps, 102 calories. I then did STS 2.0 abs with the mini ball, 11 minutes, 42 calories and finished with STS 2.0 Mobility 2, 17 minutes, 37 calories. Total time was 71 minutes, 314 calories, total steps 3,308. Tomorrow will be 2.0 Super Sets if things go right.
I am sorry for not commenting. I read your posts, but am really needing to get to bed tonight.

This morning I did CDorner's All Standing Low Impact Cardio Core & Abs workout. It was a pretty good workout but I wasn't really into the music. This had easy low impact cardio segments, I think 3 of them and then in between she did standing ab drills. It was fun but I didn't sweat much, which was ok.

Workout was 46 mintues, burned 391 calories, did 3878 steps and HR 136/175. HR seemed a bit high for this workout, I didn't even feel like I got past the 130's. Weird.

Then I took some time and stretched. My left side is all tight again, especially in my hips. I used my foam roller and rolled that area out, it was very ouchy!!

Jolie - Interesting about the heavy metals. I honestly thought you couldn't get those out of your body once they build up. Nice job on your workout and I'm glad you back is feeling better. I'd really love to run again but I doubt my body will let me plus now I worry about my knees. I might be able to job a bit, though, that probably wouldn't hurt much. LOL!!

Belinda - Thanks for the link, I'll check it out for sure. I'll probably not start running again seriously, I know how hard that is on the body and mine probably can't take all that anymore. I sure do miss it, though.

Roselyn - Great job on your workout. Are you doing the STS 2.0 series?

Diane - Nice job with your workouts. Hope you are feeling good now, it seems you are getting in some good workouts. I hope to when I'm on summer break. I want to start lifting again but every time I do that knot comes back. I'm so sick of it and I wish Iknew what I was doing wrong. I try to keep my posture up and to the exercises correctly. I even hav emirrors so I can watch myself. I just don't understand why this keeps happening. It is better now but I'm scared to start lifting agian. :(

Hope you all have a great day and weekend!! Four more days after this for me! Woohoo!!

Belinda - I ordered a Mountain Bike training video because I was curious as well as a scenic bike video in New Zealand because I've done a couple New Zealand rides on IFit and the scenery is beautiful. I'm going to have to get my heavy bag filled back up again. I just dumped it out to move it from the basement because I hadn't really been using it!

This morning I did STS 2.0 Mat Yoga and then took the dog for a walk. I feel a little DOMs from Giant Sets yesterday!

Today I went for a walk outside, I avoided the hills and tried to stay on more level of a surface, and it did not irritate my back. I walked for 1 hour, 3.2 miles and burned 498 calories. I do not want to lift and weights till I have my check up with my Chiro today, she will give me the green light to go ahead if everything looks like it has settled down. I do not want to go back to that place, it takes forever to get the spasm to release. Overcast and cloudy for the next few days, I want the sun to come out! I hope you all are not getting any of the smoke coming from Canada, did you see New York City the other day?

I saw this post that Jennifer Aniston wrote regarding working out and injuries she has had over her lifetime. She was working out every day, feeling she had to push herself or otherwise she would not see the results she wanted, or the workout would not show on her body. Her PT gave her a doll with KT tape all over it showing her all of her injuries she has had due to over working out her entire career. She said there was not one place on the dolls body that did not have tape on it. She has now completely changed her workouts and it has made her feel so much better. Over training had completely done a number on her body and she was in constant pain. Now she feels great and has no pain and she said that her physique is still great even without the long treacherous workouts. I am feeling this way about what i am doing and I am going to reign it in to avoid further injuries.

Debbie, great job on the workout today and that was a good calorie burn too! I think you would get a better workout doing the Max Trainer, easy on the knees with no impact, rather than running with the impact. I get it is not the same, but I think we have to reevaluate what we are doing going forward due to our injuries and age :(

Doreen, that program you got for mountain bike training sounds interesting.

Diane Sue, I hope you slept well and good job on the workout yesterday.

Roselyn, great job on the workout.

Make it a great day.

Hi,

STS Giant Sets is done. I will get a nice stretch in later. I started going through my workout dvd's, to make room for new ones, lol.

Doreen - I was looking at those bike dvd's, I decided not to get them. My knees can't handle a bike ride right now. Let me know how you like it. Did you see https://www.totalfitnessdvds.com/Paul-Katami-4X4-10-DVDs-Only-p/2066.htm is also only $15. I heard that one is worth just for the foam roller dvd.

Roselyn - great job yesterday. How are you liking the new STS 2 so far?

Debbie - you are welcome. The sale is until Sunday. Running is very hard on your body. My knees are already have wear and tear. Eventually I need a knee surgery. Great job on your workout this morning. I need to check that one out.

Jolie - doesn't Jennifer A. has a trainer? I don't push or train like I used too. I am getting to many injuries. We can't go outside, the smoke is so dangerous. The other day the sky was red. They said by this weekend it should get better. You sure don't see anyone walking outside. Great job on that walk today.

Diane - you are up late these day's. I was out like a light around 7 pm. I slept through until 6 am. I guess, I needed that. I feel much better today. Great job with your workouts.

Cam - hope you have a great workout.

BBL.

Today I did STS 2.0 Total Body Supersets, 62 minutes, heart rate 105/125, 174 calories. I finished with STS 2.0 Chair yoga, 20 minutes, 37 calories. Total time 82 minutes, 211 calories. I was more careful with the weights today now that I know what to expect. My low back and spine area have been achy the last couple of days.
I am not missing doing the cardio every day. I need to gain weight anyway. I am stuck in a food rut most of the time and keep losing weight. I have dropped to 105# my limit has always been never below 110. Muscle is coming back though. I added two brownies last night when I looked at my mfp end of day and I still had over 900 calories left. I have not been much in the mood for cooking. I have not been this low in years.

quick stretch

Belinda, I have the addiction workouts. I set them in the room with the heavy bag, but was worried about the punching and some of the other moves. If I remember right they are pretty intense, also not easy to do a short workout as she does it all on one side first before doing the other side?
Nice work getting giant sets done. I feel I definitely need more of a stretch after these workouts. I have been trying to push myself to get together before midnight. I set my phone to remind me to get ready for bed at 10:30. I am usually running around doing household chores after my husband leaves for work at night. I hope your air gets better and the smoke clears. I did get more sleep last night even though I went to bed late I went back to sleep in the recliner for a couple of hours then got up for the day. Sleep makes a whole lot of difference on how we feel and productivity.

Jolie, I am glad you were able to get in a walk. I hope the chiro gives you the go ahead on lifting. I think there is a point where we realize we are tearing our bodies down rather than building them up for health. It is easy to ignore all that when we are younger and have not had injuries. Plus I worked out for hours and did intense workouts every day and wondered why my results were not better. Nothing had time to recover! That is interesting about Jennifer Aniston.

Doreen, nice work on STS 2.0 Giant sets yesterday and the Mat Yoga today.

Debbie, nice work with CDorner All Standing Low Impact Cardio, core, and abs. I sometimes will get a high heart rate somewhere in there that is a surprise. If I look at the graph it is usually a short blip up. Not sure why. I wish you could keep the knot from coming back. I wish I had mirrors to see my form. I had a bit of low back pain since the Total Body Tri-sets day. I lowered a bit today and kept trying to remember Chris image of the flash light and shining the light while squeezing the flash light. Weird image though. I wish she could have thought of something else. I do not go as low as Cathe on the deadlifts and too many of those will almost always set off my low back. I usually have limited dead lifts to once a week.

Roselyn, nice work with Super Sets yesterday.

Yesterday I did a Heather 30 min. No Repeat Leg Day and a 2.5 mile walk with the dog. Ran out of time and didn't get back from our walk until 10:00. I liked the leg workout a lot. Not real tough but perfect for what I wanted. Tonight we are going on another walk.

Good workouts everyone!

This morning I did 2.0 Super Sets. I changed it up a little. For one of the 2 min breaks I did a cardio drill and I also took out the Shrug/Calves sets. I had a great workout. Liked my format.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Beautiful in my neck of the woods today. Sunday won't be so good.

Today I did CDorner Tina Turner Low Impact Cardio mish mosh 42 minutes, 211 calories, heart rate 132/157, 3,375 steps. I then did 2.0 Standing Abs Metabolic Core warm up, 10 minutes, 52 calories, heart rate 124/141, 509 steps. This was 52 minutes, 263 calories, 3,884 steps. I also did 2.0 foam rolling upper body which I did not count the stats on. I watched the first upper body workout that will be coming up in phase 2 and wrote down options on the work sheet so I can change up some of the moves. I need to watch the others and check out equipment. Hoping no gliding discs in there for lower.

Cam, nice work on Heather 30 minute No repeat leg day and 2.5 mile walk with the dog. INice work on 2.0 Super Sets today. I worry about the shrugs. I have been keeping them much lighter. For one thing I do not want big traps. I also do not want to irritate my upper back and neck. Cam, you must have the rain coming your way that went through last night. We had a lot of thunder and the rain was roaring. My husband dragged the dogs bed into our room as she is afraid when there is a lot of noise with the storms.

Hi,

I walked this morning. The air quality wasn't too bad. I also did Element Yoga for Stress Relief & Flexibility. I did the flexibility yoga, it was very good. I didn't feel like doing the STS recovery today. I needed to get a good stretch for my legs.

Diane - I will have to modify the Addiction workouts. I also need more stretching the older I get. Glad you got some sleep. I usually go to bed around 10 unless we have someone over. I am too tired to stay up that late especially with all the meds I take. They make you very tired. Great job on your workout.

Good night.

Belinda, nice work on the walk and a yoga for stress relief. The STS recovery workouts do not really get into holding stretches very long. I like them, but will need something else sometimes. I almost went on to foam rolling the lower body today. I try to stretch or mobility most days that I work out.
The addiction workouts definitely would need some modifications. I like them. I think there is some high step stuff in it with some of the intervals between boxing.

Good Morning,

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary yesterday our daughter’s hosted a party for us and today we are leaving for the lake for a week. It’s been raining all morning and off and on yesterday I know you all need rain but I want it to quit for a while. I did Country Heat Country Swing this morning.

I forgot to check in yesterday with my workout, I guess the day got away from me. Saturday's workout was a 4 mile walk outside, I tried to stay away from the steep hills so my back would not get irritated. I ended my workout with an 8 minute Max Trainer workout on Interval mode and boy did that get the heart rate up. Total calories burned was 715. Today's workout was another walk outside, we are supposed to get days of rain this next week, so I wanted to get outside before I was stuck in the gym. I walked for 1 hour 50 minutes, traveled 6.3 miles and burned 1,128 calories. My back spasm is 95% gone and my Chiro said I can start lifting weights tomorrow, but to go lite for the next week and see how I do with it. I think I might just do my own weight workouts to keep them basic and slow to avoid firing up that spasm again.

Nice job on the workouts this weekend everyone! I am glad that you all are enjoying the new STS 2.0 series. I may pull out the old STS Meso 2 and do those workouts this next week.

Make it a great Sunday.

No workout. Just resting today and getting a few things ready ahead of time for my ladies group I am hosting Tuesday morning. I am making a lemon coffee cake so will squeeze the lemons and get some peel. I used to to keep that stuff made ahead and frozen in small amounts. Also dicing up stuff for quiche.

Roxie, happy 40th anniversary. I hope the weather is nice for you while at the lake this week so you can really enjoy it.

Jolie, I am glad your back is getting better and that you have the go ahead to do light weights tomorrow. Nice work with the walk and max trainer.

Roselyn, nice job with Lower Body 1.

No workout today for me either. I did my cleaning and ran errands for my mom. She's starting to walk again and the bad part of that is she may lose hospice care. I hope not. I think with the diagnosis of congestive heart failure, that would be enough to keep them on, but I am not so sure. She walks really slow and gets out of breath and has to sit. Definitely not on the mend. She turns 88 next month. There is a woman that just moved in that is 101. I talked with her for awhile and I had no idea. I thought she was about 75. She barely has to use a cane. She looks fabulous and has her faculties. Shes a very happy and enjoyable woman. Next time I talk to her I am going to ask her what has contributed to a long healthy life.

Diane, I love squeezing lemons. Well I like the smell of squeezed lemons and using them in recipes. When I make chicken piccata and shrimp scampi, there is nothing better than fresh squeezed lemons.

We had the 1st rainy day in a few weeks, though it drizzled more than actual rain.
