Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for JUNE 2022!!

Today I did Coffey Fit Just Step 4, 31 minutes, 120/147, 148 calories, 2,924 steps. She said this was the cardio portion with egg weights(optional) of another workout that has legs in it. I am not sure which one that is, but I liked this cardio and the music was pretty good. I then did CDorner wrist friendly mobility stretch, 31 minutes, heart rate 74/96, 41 calories. I finished with PT exercises, but did not use the Garmin as the battery was low and I forgot to charge it. Chris has been adding some relax segments to the end of her latest mobility workouts. I just started some of my PT stretches while she laid on the floor. I did like the stretches and movement in this one and she puts in wrist stretches and movement. This was late in the day as things just did not go well. I woke too early as my grandson wanted to watch The Longest Day and it is 3 hours long. I finally left him to finish the last 30 minutes and went to bed at 1. I tried going back to sleep, but kept thinking of things I needed to do. Finally got a late morning nap and then worked out. This evening I discovered that my junipers have bag worms and stayed outside picking them off till dark. So I ordered some stuff to spray them with which should be here tomorrow. I ache after the workout and yard work I did. I had my grandson out helping pull grass out. My shoulder hurts for some reason.
My dog seems back to normal today and I gave her her dog food tonight.

Debbie, is that the dvd Super Sculpt workout. I really like that dvd. I think there is a premix with the step to avoid jumps or something like that on the high impact. It has quite a few options. What is it with birds. One house we lived in had some tenacious swallows that drove me nuts and left a mess on our door step that I had to clean up. I tried everything to scare them off. They would come right back. I put up a wind chime and the pooped all over it. I thought it would chase them off. Then another time we had a crazy bird that kept running into the back french doors. It finally died from smacking the door. We hung things out there, and I put one of those plastic owls on the lawn chair it messed on and it still kept at it.
Our next -door neighbors have a bird cage on their patio. I finally figured out where the bird chirps were coming from. That does not bother me though.
I have been kind of in denial of the RA, but symptoms, mri, and x-rays all show it. I have a bone on the top of my non surgery shoulder that is kind of a bump now. My husband says I need to get it checked out. I will wait till I go in October though. The arthritis center I go to has a room for infusions and stuff. They showed me it when I first went and they walked me through their facility. I don't like their mri machine. I told my daughter that it was so painful. I have never had an mri hurt like that before. She says she knows what it is and I should ask to go to another place to get it. My doctor would give me other meds if I said I wanted it. My problem is I know if I end up on an immuno-suppressing drug that I will have to alter my supplements as you cannot take immune boosting supplements with those types of medications. I know I will probably have to eventually give in and do more with it. I don't think I would want to have to drive that hour long drive for infusions. I wish there was somewhere closer.

Belinda, nice work on Gym Style chest and triceps. That does make sense that the injection would be utilized better by the body. That is one of the reasons that I try to find my supplements in liquid for so I don't have to worry about the amount of supplement I am going to get out of a tablet or capsule.

Roselyn, great job doing a trampoline workouts.

Cam, I think that I saw that kickbox workout on Youtube this morning. I may have to try it out. Does she do a good mix of kicking along with boxing? I do enjoy the kicking. That is one of the reasons I liked Les Mills Combat so much.

Good morning,

Fit Split Mixed Impact Cardio plus Bonus Abs is done.

Debbie - I made the Asian Lettuce Wraps yesterday. They are so good.

Diane - I pray the injections work better. That makes sense to find in liquid supplements. Unfortunately I can't take a lot of supplements unless my doctors subscribe it. Hope your shoulder feels better. You done a lot yesterday.

BBL.

This morning I walked on my treadmill and then I did a lot of stretching and did some of my knee PT exercises. I am realizing how tight my muscles really are while doing these stretches. I can't believe how tight my left calf muscle is. I stretched that for a bit of time this morning. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my knee pain? Not that I have a lot of knee pain anymore, it is much better, but I can't help but wonder if my tight muscles are a lot of my problems. I am taking the time to strech and it is making a huge difference for everything in my body.

Workout was 41 minutes, burned 171 calories, went 2.23 miles, did 4979 steps and HR was 82/99. I can't believe my HR was that low, I had my treadmill on 4% incline. My heart was beating a bit more than 99 at some point. I wonder if I should just use the cardio setting? It seems to clock my HR better on that mode.

Diane - Yes, I have that same struggle with birds here. I love feeding them because I love watching them (and so do my cats) but damn, they are so annoying sometimes. That same bird is out there again just squaking. We had blackbirds make a nest right above our patio door and there was bird poop right where we go into the house. My DH finally took care of that problem. Wish he'd take care of that sparrow. Anyways, I'm sorry about your pain and all your are going through. How does an MRI hurt you? I never heard of that before. I thought it just took pictures of the inside of your body? I've had one MRI and fell asleep during it. LOL! I'll have to check out the movie The Longest Day, never heard of it.

Belinda - I'll have to check out those lettuce wraps, haven't tried those yet!

Have a great weekend everyone. I have some things to do today so I need to get going.

Yesterday I forgot to check in, I walked on my TM uphill for 40 minutes, 2.1 miles and burned 301 calories. Today I had a fantastic workout, I did Cathe's STS Meso 2 Disc #15 Back and Biceps. I am lifting heavier and controlled and I have never felt better. I love the 1 minute's breaks in between sets and believe it or not, I sweat more doing this type of workout than a high rep weight workout. I added ABS at the end and my workout was 1 hour 6 minutes and I burned 451 calories. Next week I will start listing what I did for my weights, today I am short on time. I am having my parents stay for the weekend so there is so much to do! Happy Father's Day to all the dads in your families.

Debbie, great job on the walk and the stretch!

Diane Sue, I hope your shoulder feels better today.

Belinda, nice job on the workout, I have never done that one before, who is the instructor?

Roselyn, nice workout yesterday.

Cam, I am going to try to do more kickboxing this summer instead of walking since my walking takes up so much time to get all of those miles in each time. Great job!

I will be taking the weekend off unless I can sneak away for some time to workout.

Jolie - it's from Cathe's Fit Splits. I am doing Cathe's May rotation. Great job today.

I did an upper body reverse pyramid from Vera LaRoe this morning. Interesting format - I wasn't prepared for the reverse style - where your heaviest weight and lowest reps are first. Its hard to judge what to grab in that scenario. But it was a good workout.

Today I did CDorner Cardio to the Beat low impact, 24 minutes, heart rate 129/153, 127 calories, 2,300 steps. I then did Kelly Coffey Super Sculpt premix Drills and Band 31 minutes, 141 calories useing a heavy band and 2# dumbbells, 2,431 steps. I used the strength setting on my Garmin and I should have used cardio as this felt more cardio. Total time today was 55 minutes, 268 calories, 4,731 steps.

Belinda, nice work with Fit Split mixed impact cardio. That has some tough moves in it. I understand with the meds that you take and supplements.

Debbie, I try to get in stretching every day. Sometimes I just stop and do some because I feel I need it. It really does make a difference. Nice work with the walk and stretching. I would use the cardio setting if it was me. I have fell asleep during an mri before on my leg. I have had two on my knee at different times and a breast mri at a facility that does imaging. No problems with them being painful. At the arthritis center their equipment did not look the same, it seemed narrower and the part I go under is just flat and right over my face by a few inches. They strapped my shoulder that was already painful into a hard device and I could not move at all. The position was right where it hurt the most. When they did my neck I had my neck in a device to not move that was hard. The first time they did mri on both and I had to make them stop after a few images on my shoulder because I felt like I was going to pass out because of the pain. The second time before surgery they just did the shoulder. I took Advil before I left. I do not want to go through it again. The Longest Day is an old black and white movie about Normandy and D-Day. There was subtitles when the French and Germans were talking. I was really surprised he stuck through the whole movie. He got a good dose of history.

Jolie, good job lifting heavy again and with the STS Meso 2 Back and Biceps. I am trying to get some things done here for Sunday when the family is here. I need to pick up my grandson's creations that are lying all over and on the table. I got up this morning and everything hurt so I took Advil and sat in the recliner for another hour. It settled down and the workout seemed to loosen me up a bit. Enjoy your time with your parents.

Doreen, doing it heavier first would be different. It seems I have done that somewhere in the past. Maybe it was a pyramid down premix? It would be easier to judge if you had done the workout at least once before.

This morning I did Michelle Briehler Body Pump. That was a goody. I like that each set was a body part and she hit it all. My muscles are quite fatigued.

Diane, did you see that Chris was on the Today show? I guess Savannah Guthrie is a huge fan. She demonstrated some moves and did a little fitness talk. BTW I like Michelle's kickboxing because its more legs than punching.

Jolie, mixing it up is good. My body has definitely changed this year from doing workouts that I never used to do. I finally have definition in my abs. That has been my goal this year, to strengthen my core. I would always eliminate core work due to time and neglect stretching. Now its the opposite, more core work and stretching.

Good workouts everyone! Have a good weekend. Having the family over for Father's Day but will try to get a cardio workout in. A gorgeous weekend too. Love it.

This morning I walked on my treadmill for 1.45 miles just to warm up a bit and then I did RAW Weights 2 today. I like this workout but I skipped the leg portion. My knee still isn't right. It's good for one day then the next it hurts, etc. Getting frustrated with it.

This is what I did:

Each move was 45 seconds with a short maybe 10 second break. These were not done circuit style, most were 2 sets unless I wrote differently.

Squats: Skipped
Plie Squats: 2kipped
Deadlift/Squats: Skipped

Dumbbell Press: 15's - 2 sets
Explosive Reverse Flies: 12's - 2 sets
Pullovers: 20# - 2 sets
Seated Supinated Hammer Curls: 12's - (she only does 1 set, I did 2)
W Curls: 10's - 1 set
Situps to Overhead Press: 10's/8's - 2 sets
Leaning back w/Knees Up & Hammer Curls: 15's - (she does 1 set, I did 2 and I did Hammer Curls only)
Russian Twist w/Knees Up: 10# - (I did not bring my knees up)

Alternate Front Lunges: Skipped
Alternate Back Lunges: Skipped
Alternate Side Lunges: Skipped

Tate Press: 8's - 2 sets (I did 1 set of tates and 1 set of lying extensions)
Seated Bent Over Lateral Raise, Thumbs Up: 8's - 2 sets
Seated Overhead Press to Triceps Extension: 10's/8's - 2 sets

Abs

Workout was 43 minutes, burned 323 calories, HR was 124/159. I also stretched really good again. I have an excellent timer on my phone and I did like 20 - 30 second stretches for my entire body. Felt great. Love the timer I have, I've used it for many different things.

Had a great weekend, yesterday my DH and I rode our motorcycles to a park and did a 2 mile walk plus saw the raptors they have there. These animals all have defects, like a broken wing or eye injuries. I feel bad that they are in cages but with their problems they are much safer there. There were some incredible birds there.

Jolie - I hope you had a great father's day with your dad. I miss mine so much. :( Great job with your workouts!

Diane - I forgot to answer you about the Super Scults. Yes, it was the DVD Super Sculpt workout but I did it from Kelly's raw channel. It seemed like a premix because she does the lifting then boxing and then it starts over doing those two segments over again but it just started over. I liked the workout, though, I want to do more from that one for sure. I see she has a new RAW upper body workout that is an hour long. I want to watch it to see what it entails. I was going to do it today but would rather watch it first. I can see how that MRI hurt you with the way they had you lay. OMG, that must have been awful.

Belinda - I found that recipe and will try it. I need to get the wrap part of it. Sounds amazing!! I am going to make the eggrolls again today. I sure love those.

Great job with your workouts this weekend to all who did them!! Have a great workout today!

Today I had an excellent workout, I am doing something a little different this week using walking with STS weight workouts. I will be walking on my TM for 30 minutes each day and doing ONE body part workout from STS, adding a leg exercise and also adding ABs and Core too. Today I did 30 minutes uphill on the TM, traveled 1.6 miles and burned 271 calories. Next, I did STS Meso 2 Disc #14 Chest which includeds Back of Sets at the end, then I added leg extensions and abs with core. Workout was 1 hour 10 minutes and I burned 547 calories.

Warm up Incline Chest Press-
15's x 12, x 12
Incline Chest Press-
22's x 12, x 10, x 8
17's x 15 BOS

Incline Chest Flys-
17's x 12, x 10, x 8
15's x 14 BOS

Flat Bench Chest Press-
22's x 12, x 10, x 8
17's x 12 BOS

Leg Extensions-
40# x 20, x 16, x 14
30# x 22 BOS

ABS/Core- 6 different exercises

Debbie, great job on the walk and weight workout. Bummer about your knee still hurting, I hate when we cannot get to the bottom of our issues. Nice calorie burn too! I had a great day with my dad, but it is scary to see your parents so old. My dad is 89 years old but still works full time as a Commodities Trader so his mind is sharp as a tack!

Doreen, I have not done reverse pyramid workouts before that would be tough how to gage the weights. I should try that workout this summer.

Diane Sue, I hope you are feeling good today!

I posted by accident before finishing my post!

Belinda, way to go on the Burpees, I could never do those now, they would kill me. My youngest son can do hundreds of them even with a jump at the end. Great job!

Cam, I hope you have a great workout today.

It will be warm this week, I am going to have to get up a little earlier to get my workouts in while it is cool outside. Make it a great day.

Hi,

I did To the MAX instead of Crossfire. I pulled out the wrong dvd. Oh well.

Debbie - you sure like those egg rolls, lol. I need more practice. For the wraps you use lettuce. Great job on your workout today.

Jolie - it wasn't me with the Burpees. If they do came up I do them all modified. They would kill me too. My knees can't handle high impact anymore. I have to modify everything these day's. Nice workout and weights today.

Have a great day everyone,

Saturday I did Alyssa Kun Low Impact and strength workout using 2 and 5# dumbbells, 30 minutes, hwart rate 105-144, 112 calories, 2007 steps. THis is from her Arthritis Adventure subscription page. She has lots of info and demos along with some workouts. I also did Burpee Girl outdoor workout Fat Burning Cardio for weight Loss, 25 minutes, 108/129 heart rate, 2,646 steps. I finished with Jane Adams morning energy yoga, 17 minutes heart rate 84/97, 37 calories. Total time was 72 minutes, 250 calories, 4,654 steps.

Today I am exhausted, but still pulled off a weight workout. I did Coffeyfit Raw Shoulder and Neck Limitations, 40 minutes, 90 calories, heart rqate 91/118, 618 steps. I then did Raw Abs Circuits 16 minutes, 38 calories, heart rate 84/103, 47 steps. I finished with Walk Strong 3 Total Stretch, 18 minutes, 26 calories. Total time was 74 minutes, 154 calories. Too many long days and today my Garmin gave me 5 out of a 100 body battery when I got up. I clicked it and it showed me having stress all night. I guess coughing, pain, and dry mouth trying to get dried out gum I use to help that from being stuck on the roof of my mouth. I get tired of dry mouth drops and cough drops and I have about choked on them enough times. That being said, it also said I got 7 hours of sleep LOL Yesterday we had a nice family day.

Shoulder Limitation workout 3 rnds of 6 exercises
Squats 15# dumbbells 13 reps, 10 reps, 13 reps (timed)
Biceps 10# dbs 13 reps right then 13 left all 3 rounds
Reverse Lunge alternating 15# dbs 12 reps all 3 rounds
1 arm kickbacks 10#,8# 8# 14 reps
body weight hips/ quads knee pull/hip circle 2 rounds then just knee pulls 3rd round
scap squeeze with leg lift back 10# db's, 8# dbs, 10# dbs (uncertain of weight)

Belinda, I like To the Max better than crossfire anyway. Nice work on legs Saturday as well.

Cam, I missed that with Chris on the Today show. I never watch the Today Show, but would have checked it out if I had known. I guess that is what she was talking about on one of her recent workouts then. She mentioned them wanting her to do something from a workout. Thanks I will check out Michelle's kickboxing.

Roselyn nice work with Carolyn and the burpees. I have not done any in a long time myself.

Debbie, great workout. I don't know what to think, as it seems once a body part starts causing trouble it just keeps coming back. I figure what happens is we get the pain lowered, but whatever else we have been doing that may be causing imbalance makes it come right back. I guess those animals are lucky to be alive. Maybe they get used to life like that. I guess I need to check out the format of the Super Sculpt on the Raw Channel. The dvd is workout 1 15 minutes of sculpting drills followed by 15 minutes of step aerobics Workout 2 is tabata rounds with lower body, shadowboxing with light db's and high impact moves on a step. Option 3 does not do step jumps. I do not think that I am ready for an hour of upper body. Maybe the new workout is set up in a way that the body parts can be broken up.

Jolie, nice workout plan. Changing it up is always good. It is unsettling when we see our parents age. That is wonderful that your Dad is still able to work at 89 years old. I was able to do burpees up till about 5 years ago when I did burpees and jumped up and did pull ups and messed up my shoulder. That is when my troubles started. It was probably the pull ups though that caused my troubles. I would rather just do squat thrusts myself.

I tried for a bike ride outside this morning. It was nice and I even saw a bear headed down the other side of the road (a 3 lane road with bike lanes on each shoulder) this morning. I first thought someone had lost their dog!!

Tonight I did Tracy Steen 40 min 4 Quadrant No Repeat. Lower Body, upper body, cardio and abs. She hit it all. That was one sweaty workout.

Belinda, that's funny. I don't have To the Max, but have Crossfire.

Doreen, glad the bear wasn't running toward you. Yikes!

Diane, Jolie and Diane, good workouts! We all did good today.

I had an excellent workout this morning, it is so nice to not have time limits! Wish I could just quit working. I first did KCM Boxfit workout #1 which is the boxing workout. I used my 1# hand weights. That was my warmup for RAW Heavy Bag 4. I've never done this one before, it's only 27 minutes but with doing the Boxfit one first, this was tough. My arms were like jello by the end. Then I did RAW 4DS Stretch and that was 8 minutes but I did the stretches a bit longer. I feel so much better since I've been stretching so much. I really need to keep this up.

All three workouts together was 69 minutes, burned 502 calories (!!!) did 5471 step. HR was139/169.

Jolie - Excellent workout yesterday!! That is a good plan for the week with your workouts. My mom turns 85 in July. Her mind is so/so. Sometimes she is with it other times she gets confused. She knows her politics, though. She knows everything that is going on. She hates Pelosi and Biden and complains about them all the time. LOL! I complain with her!

Belinda - I do love those eggrolls. I made them last night and I also made the corn chips she makes with corn tortillas. I will have those with the cheese sauce later. Yummy!! I haven't made the wraps yet because I don't have any large lettuce like Romaine to make them. I'll have to get some and try it next week. I've been making her mug cakes, love those. She posted a 1 minute Youtube video on how to make a donut. I need to try that soon, it looks yummy.

Diane - Great job on your workouts! I don't think I would have done any workout that has Burpee Girl in the title. Wasn't it full of burpees? My knee seems ok today. I don't get it, one day it's fine, next day it hurts like hell. I haven't done my PT exercises, I'll have to get those in this week sometime. Lately it doesn't seem to be helping much.

Doreen - Holy crap on the bear! That's something we never see here!

Cam - Great job with your workout yesterday!

Hi to everyone else! Hope you all have a great day!

Today I had a fantastic workout even though I am tired and sore from yesterday's workout. I started with a 1.3 mile walk uphill on the TM and I walked for 20 minutes. I was supposed to do 30 minutes, but I am tired, I just did 20 minutes. Next I did Cathe's STS Meso 2 Disc#16 Shoulders and Triceps. This is the same type of workout as yesterday, it has the Back Off Sets at the end which I love. I ended with soft knee deadlifts and Cathe's AB Circuits Medicine Ball AB workout. Total workout time was 1 hour 20 minutes and I burned 535 calories.

Shoulders-
BB Seated Overhead Press-
35# BB x 12, x 10, x 8
30# BB x 14 BOS

Lateral Raise- (This exercise is where I have lost most of my strength over the years)
8's x 12, x 10, x 8
5's x 13 BOS

Rear Delt Flys- ( I have to go lite on this due to my low back issues )
8's x 12, x 10, x 8
5's x 20 BOS

Triceps-
Lying Triceps Ext.-
15's x 12, x 10, x 8
10's x 12 BOS

Lying Cross Body Ext.-
12's x 12, x 10, x 8
Seated Overhead Triceps Ext. 2 Arms
12's x 10

1 Arm Kickbacks-
10# x 12, x 10, x 8
2 Arm Kickbacks-
8's x 13 BOS

Deadlifts BB- 35# x 12, x 12, x 12

AB Circuits Medicine Ball

I should be feeling this workout tomorrow :)

Debbie, great job on the 3 workouts and wow on the calorie burns you are getting lately! Your FitBit must have been really not working correctly because it always tracked your calories burned very low. My mom is 85 years old too! My dad is all about politics and wears his Trump hat and jacket everywhere just to piss people off. He loves a good argument!

Doreen, great job on the bike ride, and wow about the bear!!!

Cam, you are really doing well with these sweaty workouts!!! I think I have tried Tracy's workouts before but I will have to revisit them again. Do you get them off YouTube?

Diane Sue, I sure hope you feel better today. Take it easy, listen to your body as Cathe always says. I do not think I have ever done more than a few pullups in my life; my arms are so long it is really hard for me to do as well as pushups.

Belinda and Roselyn, I hope you both have great workouts today.
