Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 4/14

I've decided to change my workout a bit, instead of doing biceps and triceps on one day, I'm going to do biceps on one day and triceps another day and then do cardio with both. I can't figure out why this rotation isn't set up that way to begin with.

So today I worked my Biceps and had an excellent workout. This workout flew by.

10 minutes on treadmill for warmup

8 sets - 20 seconds on/10 seconds off each exercise

2 minutes rest between each exercise

BICEPS
Dumbbell Curls:
15's - 8 sets/8 reps
***My HR really spikes with curls for some reason. These felt good.

EZ Preacher Curls:
30# - 8 sets/8-7 reps (up 5#)
***Probably could go higher with these still. HR got up there but didn't really feel like I was struggling with this.

Curl Ups, Reverse Downs:
12's - 8 sets/6 reps (Up 2#)
***Really felt this in my forearms.

Hammer Curls:
15's - 8 sets/8-7 reps
***Last two sets were a struggle. I added these in, didn't do them last week.

Then I got on my treadmill and did Cardio Coach #1, challenge 1 & 2. I ran my ass off.

HR STATS:
60 minutes total
3 minutes below zone
36 minutes in zone
21 minutes above zone
474 calories burned
1.3 miles travelled

That is all...

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday I did Imax 2 and MM abs. Let me tell you, I went into Imax 2 with ALOT of energy. Did very good. My eating was on target, but the scale is still being cruel, but I don't give up:p

Today is Chest/Shoulders/Triceps. I would also do some more cardio, but my hamstrings are so sore that it is ridiculous right now. haha. I couldn't do the supermans in MM abs yesterday because I could not lift the hamstrings..they burned and so tight.

Debbie,

Good idea! Great workout too.

Good Morning, Super Girls -

Debbie - sounds fun - great workout.

Char - what on earth got your hamstrings so sore? I need some of that :D

Yesterday was chest, tris and shoulders. My stupid, darned right elbow was giving me fits again so I had to go down in weight after one set. It hurt all night so this morning, I went and got a brace and hopefully, that will help. It just irritates me to no end that my muscle is ready but the elbow isn't, and poor left arms gets shafted b/c I don't want them to be uneven.

Today is cardio and abs. So, yesterday I tracked my eats. Mark loaded a program called Diet and Exercise Assistant onto my computer. It is so easy to use and fast. Gives great info that is easy to get to so I am going to stick with this for the 8 weeks leading up to my vacation. I did not get enough calories in but certainly more than I would have otherwise and I was way more in tune with what I needed to be eating. I ended with a few more carbs than I had anticipated but they were all from fruit and whole grains so it's all good. So, here goes...my first crack at posting this.

Calories were 1529, carbs 39.9%, protein 32.7%, fat 31.1%, fiber was high, saturated fat low. I should have had more calories, like I said and I know that part and welcome any suggestions/comments since this whole thing is new to me but I've done a ton of reading on it so I'm learning! It is all a process. My goal for the 8 weeks is to lean out and build more muscle. I want to be on that beach with all of my hard work clearly obvious :D

Happy Day to all...

Morning! I did Tracey Staehle's Step Sweatfest- really fun! I burned 629 calories and followed it up with segment #1 from Cathe's Total Body Stretch (I think that is what it is called).

Shana: Good for you! Do whatever works. :) I say peanut butter is a good way to get in calories without much effort. It would up your protein / fat ratio, too.

Debbie: Cool workout- glad you figured out a way to get it to work a little better for you.

Charlotte: I love IMAX 2 and when I go into it feeling good, it is extra fun!

Gotta run and pick up DD from school. BBL.

Good Morning Ladies! How is everyone? I did kick, punch and crunch today and had a great workout. I forgot how much I love that workout. HRM says I burned 475 calories. Not bad -

Take care all. I will post food later.

Turkey Spinach Dip Bake

This is like spinach dip with mushrooms and ground turkey...very good stuff.

1 lb extra lean ground turkey
1 medium onion, sliced thin
1 carton mushrooms, sliced
1 10 oz package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained well
1 10 lz package frozen artichoke hearts, thawed and drained well
2/3 cup skim milk
1 cup fat free mozarella
.5 tsp nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Season ground turkey with salt and pepper and brown in nonstick skillet. Add sliced onions and mushrooms to cooked turkey. Cook until onions are softened. Add spinch and artichoke hearts to skillet and heat through. Season to taste. In a oven safe dish, combine skim milk, mozzarella, and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Add in turkey mixture and mix VERY well. Bake in 350 degree oven until mixture is set and slightly browned.

Patti - do you happen to have the nutritional breakdown of this? Specifically: Calories per serving, protein grams, carb grams and fat grams?

this looks really good.

Dallys - Your pictures were so cool that you posted yesterday. Thanks for sharing!

Went ahead got meals together for today

M1: 2 egg whites on 2 pieces of roman meal bread
M2: zone perfect - fudge grahm
M3: tune mixed with relish and light mayo on 1/2 pita pocket / pear
M3: mixed frozen fruit with carb master yogurt
M4: flank steak, pinto beans, corn tortillas and salsa

before snack for evening - 1595 calories - 22% fat, 45% carbs and 33% protein
If I HAVE TO HAVE a treat - I will have a skinny cow sandwich and that will change it 1755 calories, 21% fat, 48% carbs and 31% protein.

Hopefully, the dinner will be satisfying and I won't need a treat!

Take care all and have a great day!!!!!

Dallys - I forgot about the photos - yes - way cool and what beautiful surroundings!

Ally - I read what you wrote yesterday about your husband. Mine doesn't notice stuff either- they just see a girl in a bikini that they get to go home with :) All the best with your eats and workouts in the final countdown!

Patti - I eat almond butter and almonds already. Thanks for the tip, though! I forgot that I ate something last night that I didn't enter but it was a greek yogurt thing so it had a few more calories and protein.

Debbie - That program that I am using has a feature that allows you to enter the ingredients for a recipe and it calculates everything for you and I only realized it b/c I was looking in the manual for something else. What do you use for your tracking? Maybe it can do that too?

I'm sure I can find something that works like that, I have DietPower at home. I'm just too lazy to type it all in. :p I figured if she has the info she can just post it for me. If not, I'll figure it out. Usually I just do it manually with a calculator.

Debbie: It would be so much easier if we were just fat, slobby pigs :p Of course, we would be completely miserable... I am kind of getting into the challenge of it all, for now, and *when* I see nice changes, then it will be totally worth it.

I was so tired this morning I got up and laid on the couch. Couldn't fall asleep thinking about all that needs done :? Anyway I didn't know what I felt like doing so I jumped on the treadmill and went 1.25 miles to think about what I wanted to do, then I put in Body Max 2 and did the timesaver cardio mix excluding the w/up and str and adding combo 1 then doing the abs, I did STS abs with the medicine ball(no partner) twice, then Cathe's Stretch with the ball #2. Total calories burned was 614 and workout was 1 hr and 40 minutes. I have lots of running around to do this afternoon. I need some energy. Coffee didn't do it. Eating yesterday didn't go well. Way to much fat. I ate something like 88 gm carbs 92?gm fat and 188gm protein. I need to get that fat in check. Maybe that and the low carbs is why I am so tired:confused:

Good Morning,

Will post my stats later today. Cardio today, just don't which one to do yet.

Debbie, Great workout! You always amaze me.

Char, Maybe you can do some stretches later to your hamstrings. I find the roller helps me if you still can't stretch.

Shana, You might also benefit from the roller. I'm going to look up Diet and Exercise Assistant. It sounds like a program I can use. You have a fantastic goal. It will happen.

Patti, I love Tracey's workouts! I have the Sweatfest and need to get that out some day. Can't do it today though, because I have legs tomorrow. You did a great workout.

Ally, Kick Punch and Crunch is awesome. I didn' realize you could burn that much. WOW! I better get myself into more calorie burning cardio's.

Dallys, love your pictures as well!

WD, I'm sure that the way you ate on Easter has a lot to do with you being so tired today. But that's what I love about Hardcore Maniac's. You don't stay down for long, you get right back up and do something about it. You had an awesome workout even when you were tired. I love that about you guys! Talk about inspirations, this is one of them.

Debbie - Okay I am completely curious ...How in the world did you manage to quote a post from Patti in yesterday's thread in TODAY's thread?

Dally - Beautiful pictures. You are one tough lady to be riding those hills!

Janie,

Your right. I do need some yoga today..maybe tonight. Would be nice to watch A Haunting (tivo in afternoon and watch at night) and then do yoga at the same time. lol. The hamstrings are tight from the previous deadlifts and other leg work combined with Imax 2...starting to thaw out now though.

Bionics,

I liked the pictures too. I missed them yesterday, but went back to see.

Nice workouts everyone!!!

Debbie: Here is what the OP had for macros but she said it didn't include vegetables, which seems weird to me. I am going to refigure it today or tomorrow (whenever I make it). If you aren't making it in the next day or so and want to wait, I will post 'em what I figure them out.

For entire recipe:

Total: 877
Fat: 11
Carbs: 9
Fiber: 2
Protein: 171

Shana: If you want suggestions for more calories, post a typical day of food for you. Or are you someone that changes it a lot? It can be hard to up calories and eat wholesome foods (always easy to get in cals with junk). I have suggestions, but they require cooking. :)

Linda, you just go back to the original post, click on "QUOTE" like you would if you were answering someone in the thread you are in. Highlight it, press CTRL C (copy) and then go back into the thread you want to post in, click on POST and then just press CTRL V to paste it into the body of the message. It will have all the stuff so when you type something under it, it will show up like this message is.

Hope that isn't too confusing.

Alot of people, me included, don't count veggies with calories and such. Mainly because greens have hardly any calories and the body burns it up so quickly that it's really considered a "negative" calorie. Alot of my foods that I make up myself only have the info for the main foods that are in them like chicken, oats, etc. I never cound any veggies. So the macro you gave me will work for me. Thanks!

Hey Maniacs! I have one spare second to post there so no time for personals:confused:. This morning I did Slim Series Firm it up. Really felt it in my hamstrings because I did tons of dead lifts yesterday. I tried to visualize the backs of my legs looked like Cathe's, ROFL... AS IF!

Thanks everyone for liking my pics yesterday. It sure was fun.

I'm curious about Patti's recipe too. I want to hear feedback if it's good. I have some ground turkey in the freezer at the ready.

I'm also curious as to how Debbie quoted from yesterday. That's super cool.

Back to work....

Nope not too confusing. Thanks!:D

Ooooooh. Well, that makes sense now. :D Thanks and glad those worked for you.

Crazy day here- DD pushed DS and he fell on a toy and bloodied his nose- one side is all bruised and nasty. Lovely. They are still fighting- tell me it is only because they are 3 and 2 and someday they will be kind to each other. Just lie to me, please! It's NAP TIME and then I'm going to finish watching Twilight ALL BY MYSELF. Bliss.
