Gym Styles or 4DS

3 months ago I started Cathe's PS Series, loved it, and then moved on to a S&H rotation. I'm just now finishing a Pyramid rotation. It seems that Gym Styles is all I have left if I'm going to stay with a split-routine (due to an injury I'm not doing any cardio right now, so I break up weight training so I can still work out 5 days a week). I see that Gym Styles is very popular around here, but I'm hesitating because I see a lot of positive comments about the weight training in 4DS. How do they compare?

Oh my god, this is the hardest question ever! I don't think I could choose, honestly. These are my two absolute FAVORITE series that Cathe has made! Gym Styles are fabulous, but they have no cardio or core work and 4DS does, so IMHO, you get more bang for your buck with 4DS. I couldn't live without either series, though.

Mind you, this is just my opinion. You are right - a lot of people swear by 4DS. Going on what you have been doing, though, with PS, S&H, and Pyramids, you would probably enjoy Gym Styles much more than 4DS, especially since you cannot do cardio. Gym Styles is a thorough workout of your body parts, similar to what you have been doing. To me, 4DS is not as thorough, or maybe that isn't the right word. It certainly hits all of the parts, but not as in depth as GS. After I do GS, I feel like I really worked hard. After 4DS, not so much. It is a good workout, and I enjoy it for its variety, but for you, I recommend GS. 4DS is one of those that I am glad I have, but I don't reach for it as often as GS. Hope this helps :)

Get 4DS

I had both and sold the Gym Style ones - I don't like to spend that much time with weight training. I kept the 4DS because of the cardio. Just MHO.

I suppose it depends on your goals, and whether or not you want to strength train for longer or shorter periods at a time. Personally, I prefer 3 days splits over 2 day or whole body strength training at one time, and I like to strength train for longer than 30 minutes, so the Gym Styles are perfect for me. I can no longer do high impact cardio, and I don't like 30 minute weight training workouts, so I didn't buy 4DS.

for your goals...I would get the gym styles first...maybe next 4DS.

Personally, I love both, but since your unable to do cardio...why torture yourself with something you can't do at the moment...

I say Go with the gym styles...

I love and have both of these workouts. I mainly use the 4DS for the weight work although I like and do the boot camp and kickbox workouts as well. If you can't do cardio right now, I would get the Gym Styles Series now and maybe get the 4DS when you are able to do cardio.

Oh, I'm sorry--I forgot that you can't do cardio right now. In that case, definetely get Gym Styles. For some reason, I agree with another poster above when she said she doesn't feel like the 4DS weight work is thorough enough. Gym Styles really fryes ya!

I really like gym style. I like the 4ds but for real strength training, which is what is sounds like you are into, I would have to go with the GS. Pick up 4ds later though, cuz it is alot of fun in the cardio area and goo strength too

Gym Styles first, then 4DS.

Ok so you've been doing lower/upper splits. Time to move on to a 3 day split. GS is my reach for 3 day split. Every needs a fantastic hardcore 3 day split, this fits the bill.

The 4DS is great too, it's heavy heavy weights low reps - shorter in duration weight work routines. and there is cardio.

GS is your cake (muscle foundation), 4DS is the filling/icing (muscle enhancer).
