Gigantic Bellies & Healthy Babies Check-In Oct 11th

Yay for snow! I would love to come visit! The darvocet did kick in and gave me some relief so I took another nap. Feel somewhat better now. Had plans to take my dad to dinner but I think he is going to pick dinner up and come visit. DH has to work. I'll probably call the chiro or massage therapist that the dr gave me tomorrow. I think the chiro will help more and then maybe I can get a massage after. Sounds heavenly....

I"m glad you're getting relief, Jen! A massage? Yeah, that does sound heavenly.....just make sure your chiropractor/massager is certfified to treat pregnant woman!! We don't want you to go into labor quite yet... Speaking of which.......I haven't seen your belly in a while.......time to send us an update!!!

CONGRATULATIONS WENDY AND SUSAN,

YEAH FOR TWO HEALTHY BABY GIRLS

Jen, it seems that you're next in the list!! I may have to take something stronger for the pain too, few days ago I woke up in tears with a knot in my right calf, that's one of the most painful things I've experienced. Just 8 more weeks...

Cee, glad to hear from you, I agree, 9 months seems forever, BTW is more like 10 months when you think about it

Melanie, have you gotten bored yet? I'm telling you, I'm so ready for vacation time!

HI Allison, Kristine, Christine and all lurkers!!

Precilla~ I haven't been bored yet. I'm pretty good at keeping myself busy, even in bed. Lots to read, lots to catch up on. It sounds like your having leg cramps? Are you drinking milk? Your baby needs lots of calcium in 3rd trimester....and if you don't consume enough....your baby will still get it by leeching calcium out of you....this can lead to muscle cramps. You may want to consider drinking an extra glass of milk....or taking a calcium/magnesium supplement?

I get those leg cramps.....they're very uncomfortable. I have a strong aversion to dairy when pg so take calcium citrate at bedtime.

Waves to all......I'm watching Pretty in Pink!

Hi Ladies!
I promise to catch up and do personals soon!! I was already contracting 5 min apart when I got to the hospital. They gave me pitocin and I had one lllooonngg contraction and Kara's heart rate went down so they tunrned it off and all was well. I was at 4cm so I thought it woudl be a long day!!! Before I knew it was 6 then 8 then pushing. It happened sooo fast. I pushed I think for 30 min which was longer than with Haley..but no episitomy...the dr made me go slow to not tear..so no stitches this time...yay!!!! Im sore but feeling good! Kara is nursing like crazy! A little jaundice. Here are a couple pics. bbl

Yeah Susan! Kara is so beautiful. I love the pic of Haley with her new sister. :D She looks so proud!!! I'm so glad your labor went smooth and swift. :)

Susan- You are awesome, that is so inspiring! I am praying I do not tear this time around. I think that the healing from tears adn the meorrhoids that come with them are worse than labor! You proud mama! Thank you fo rhte great updates!
Wendy- what a tough and bittersweet time. Again, you brought magic into the world. Your famliy is grieving and that is painful, but soon they will be able to enjoy the light you have brought back, and see your dad in your daughter! You will, I am sure!
Jen- Goodness. I wish I was there to help you or at least make you laugh through the darvocet. You may also want to try accupuncture. I did that with pain in my last pregnancy and it helped a lot. Massage is also terrific. Sometimes your glutes freeze up and can cause major back pain. I hope that you feel better.
Cee- Missed you! YEs, I agree, pregnancy is too long. I am currently cursing the calendar. 8 weeks left seems like an eternity to me right now. Grr.
Priscilla- I hear you, You are on the same track as me. I bet we deliver at the same time just like Wendy and Susan! I feel fat and grouchy. My poor kid. I bribed him today to take a long quiet time/nap. I just needed to be alone. And you will be moving like me, which sucks, but at least we will laugh about it later!!!!!!
We are almost moving soon! The truck cannot come until the 26th. My OB will no longer let me fly. So, we are splitting the drive up between two days, so my bladder does not pop. I considered wearing Depends and realized that maybe that was ridiculous.
I am a cow. I gain all my weight at the end, adn it gets me down. I know it comes off. Just hard to be stuck in the blob! I should not complain!
Melanie- I do not know how you are so patient! I am glad that you have movies. Have you considered putting all your family pictures together online to music to make a DVD for the kids and hubby? I have always wanted to do it, but never find the time. Be my inspiration!!! So glad that you switched doctors and have a terrific support network. There are some great crafts online at oriental trading company that would be fun to do with your young one. There are a lot in each pack, so you coudl gift some to friends who help out... My son LOVES the one wher eyou make turkeys out of pine cones!

Christine~ Good idea about Oriental Trading company. I used to order from them for my Sunday School Class. I''ll have to look into that!

I've known so many women who have moved while pregnant. I cannot imagine! .... but it seems to happen quite frequently. It'll all be worth it when your tucked into your new home!

I'm working on learning Photoshop. Believe it or not, I don't have much "quiet" time b/c the boys are always coming into the room and talking to me....but it's hard to concentrate on projects where I have to think!

Susan- SO nice to hear that you had a fast and simple labor! I'm happy to hear that you are doing good. Thanks for the pictures too! She's beautiful!

Christine- Did you get the package yet? We've had so much going on here that I forgot to ask. I don't see what is wrong with wearing Depends. As long as your comfortable, right? ;)

Melanie- My dr said both the chiro/massage are certified. Now I just have to check to see if they accept my insurance.

Priscilla- I agree with Melanie about the calcium. I started drinking a glass of milk before bed or even just having a small bowl of cereal and drinking that milk helped. (Knock on wood) I've only had two or three leg cramps here at the end.

I bought some Poise pads during first trimester when I was vomiting so bad that I began to leak. I only wore them a couple times.......but didn't feel uncomfortable about them.....maybe it's b/c I was wearing thigh high TED hose with them & a vaginal varicose vein thong belt? LOL Pride? What pride? WE ARE PREGNANT!!!!

Susan, so happy to hear it was an easy delivery. No episiotomy? Color me jealous!! Kara is beautiful. I love the pic of Haley and Kara :)

Christine, nice to see you. Glad you're moving soon, so you and DH can be together. You need the support and the help now!

Hi to everyone....off to bed!

Good morning ladies. We're up early, I have my 31 week ob/gyn appt today @ 11AM....so I will be gone most of the day.

My platelets have been holding steady at 50K, so my prednisone has been slowly tapered down...I will have a platelet level drawn today.
Fibronectin swab, transvaginal u/s to access cervical length & funneling and a quick peak at the babies, and NST to access babies heart rhythm.

Have a good day!

Good luck at your appt Mel!

Back to work today. Feel much better after a great night's sleep which I'm sure the pain pill helped with. I have them with me today but haven't taken one. Hoping that I don't have to.

BBL!

Off to the OB today. THis is my last visit with him, sad about that. And maybe the scale. I think I gained 7 pounds in three weeks. I can vouch that lava cakes and the double chocolate torte are responsible. And they were really good!
Jimmy and I are looking at one more day of rain, so we are going to make halloween crafts and bake. I am hoping to do a Cathe video today. Have not worked out the past few days so my body is revvign its engine a little bit.
Happy to have Wednesday here, that means two more days till hubby comes home. Two more weekends like this and then we are outta here!!!! I am really ready to move. It is hard, because my friends have kind of backed off, knowign that we are moving, so there has been more time alone than usual. I understand, I guess I am doing the same thing.
Went in last night and found my son snuggling my baby blanket in his sleep. Made me feel so special. :D

Susan, you little girl looks so adorable and Haley is sure a proud big sister. I love her smile.
I'm glad everything went great, those are the kind of stories I like to hear!

Jen and Melanie, thanks for your suggestion. I realized that I'm not taking enough calcium. I normally have cereal with milk in the mornings but that's it, so I will start taking a glass of milk after dinner.

Melanie, crossing fingers for you today, hope those platelets are way up there!

Christine, you still look tiny girl, besides that those little treats we get to have with pregnancy won't last forever. We are on the same train for sure, today I fax some documents over to see if the loan gets approved, we may be moving in mid- November (aka 37 weeks) oh well, at least my parents will be here to help me out

Dawn, glad to see you around here, I read in your FB that at least you're getting to sleep a little better lately. Baby is behaving ;0)

Hi Allison, Cee, Kristine, Wendy and everyone else
