Getting Our Licks In!

Happy Palm Sunday--I actually got my butt out of bed this morning and went to early Mass. Did RWH LIHI Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps this morning. Then after making brunch/lunch, I raked the yard and put down lime and weed and feed. Now it can rain this week so next weekend I can get down grass seed. Taking a little breather at the moment before I head out to run some errands.

Janie: I thought maybe ya'll were spending much more time at the beach house than at Shelton. Why not, right? Glad your daughter is providing some encouragement to you to kick up the workouts: healthy body, healthy mind. We need both as we get older.

Kathy: any warmer in NY today? It's about 50 degrees here in VA today which is pretty good for working out in the yard. It felt so good to be outside working for a couple of hours. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy some sunshine where you are.

Cindy: hope you are okay. Hoping you pop back in soon to let us know what you've been up to.
Michelle

Rest day today.

Michelle, Great job on RWH LIHI chest shoulder and triceps. And yard work and errands. Whew!

Take care,

Janie

Saturday I did MUL2BF (chest/back) + Abs & Core (Home Gym Intervals) ab work. The HGI abs was pretty good. Sunday came down yet again with another sinus infection. Took myself to the clinic which is in the next town. Finally was given an antibiotic. Hopefully by Thursday I should feel like my old self again. Sunday I was just too miserable to workout. :( Tonight I thought of doing a premix to Great Glutes but may just stick w/MUL2BF Legs/Glutes instead.

Michelle: It must feel great being back home again. Brrrr is right w/the weather. We had snow showers on Saturday & again this morning. I too have to clean out my basement + the garage. If this weather ever gets warm me & DH will tackle it.

Janie Sis: Glad you enjoyed your visit w/your Monique. Congrats on your daughter losing some weight. Are you finished making your jewelry for the Gallerias?

Waves to Cindy!

Sorry I've been quiet, I've popped on a couple times to read what you all have been doing but haven't had time to post! I've been doing a mixture of Cathe cardio (X10, RWH, Hiit, Tabatacise) with the Metamorphosis workouts and have been enjoying it. Work has been busy and we had a health fair/blood draw last week and the phlebotomist hit a nerve when she drew my blood and caused a shooting pain down my arm to my hand and I'm still dealing with shooting pains when I use my arm. I can barely lift Lucas and am limited on what I can do with my arm, I'm really frustrated because I can't lift weights at all so I have to do some adjusting on my workouts. I just hope this heals quickly!
Lily threw a curveball at me and asked to join t-ball this year, we had to do a late sign-up and she starts today so we'll be busy Mon-Thursday nights with activities and I really have to get organized with slow cooker meals on the weekend. It's going to be mayhem!
Kathy - So sorry about the sinus infection, those are so miserable! Great job still getting the workouts in!
Michelle - Sounds like a great Sunday! We had beautiful weather on Sunday and I cleaned out my flower beds.
Janie - Love the beads and glad you've been enjoying the outdoors!

Cindy

Yesterday I took a break day--had to get into work early for a VTC with a Marine Corps General in Afghanistan. Ended up doing a teleconference because of technical issues. Today I did a Shiva Rea yoga practice. These were from her More Daily Energy dvd. I feel so inept when I do her yoga practices but I did feel better when it was complete.

Cindy: I figured you must be busy and sure enough you are busy and then some. I giggled a bit when I read "Lily threw a curveball...and asked to join t-ball this year." Pretty good pun. The exercises sound wonderful. Bummer about the nerve issue in your arm.

Kathy: did you do great glutes or go with your other workout option? As per usual, I cannot keep up with the diversity of your workouts. You must have a pretty large set of shelves for storing your exercise dvd collection. I need to find a bigger shelf for my dvds but haven't found anything suitable yet.

Janie: thumbs up on the rest day. We need those from time to time.

Michelle

Monday had to take an unscheduled rest day due to work. Had to work late. Last night decided to do KCM's MUL2BF (Legs/Glutes) + her new dvd Abs & Core (Circuit Burn). Wow was this one HARD. Some of Kelly's moves are much harder than Cathe's. this means I'll need to do that one more often to conquer it.

Tonight will be something steady state. Do you know how hard it is these days to find a workout that's steady state? I definitely don't want to jump b/c I'm not feeling up to par. I may decide to do a Kimberly Spreen kickboxing workout. She's easy or do one of Amy Bento Ross's hi-lo.

Michelle: I have 3 dvd holders that hold up to 100 dvds in the case. I throw out the covers b/c they take up too much space. Yes I have a lot. Workout instructors range from Tracy Staehle, Amy Bento Ross, Kimberly Spreen, Susan Chung, Chalene Johnson, Les Mills, Shaun T, etc. You get the picture. LOL I never purchased anything from Shiva Rhea b/c I felt she would be too advanced for me. The same goes for Ana Forest. Have you ever viewed any of her dvds? Talk about advanced. Great job on your workout. Your a VIP to have a VTC with a Marine General. I'm impressed.

Cindy: I too would be frustrated with that phlebotomist. How aggravating. How's the arm today? Any better? I hope so. I too was laughing just like Michelle over your pun re Lily throwing you a curve ball. Your always busy, busy, busy. You take me back to all those active sport days w/my DS. :)

Waves to Janie Sis!
Kathy

Exercise today was Ripped With HIIT Low Impact Two.

Kathy: so, now I know your exercise dvd storage secret. I'm afraid I could never keep the dvds straight without keeping them in the original packaging. I'm trying to think of a workout that is more steady state, maybe Cathe's Low Impact Step? Step Jam is another step workout that comes to mind. I also find that IMAX 3 Intervals only premix is good when I'm getting over a cold or flu bug. Sure hope you are feeling tip top very soon. And you are too sweet, but I am not a VIP. It is a part of my job, but I don't take it for granted.

Janie: Happy Birthday to you my wonderful friend. May your day be filled with joy and your life with love and good health.
Michelle

Did yoga today and a walk on the beach with Rolly. Also worked in my garden and continued my jewelry making for the galleries. That's enough for today. LOL!

Michelle, Great job on HiiT Low Impact Two. Thank you for the birthday wish. I had the most fun birthday, but I always do. Maybe because it's on April Fools day. LOL!

Kathy Sis, Great job on KCM's MUL2BF legs and glutes and her new dvd Abs and Core, circuit burn. It sounds hard! You will conquer it. I will do many more jewelry sets and hopefully something different. Haven't figured out anything different yet though. LOL!

Cindy, Great jobs doong a mixture of Cathecardio X10, RWH, Hiit Tabatacise with the Metamorphosis workouts. Wow! OMG! So sorry about the nurse hitting a nerve in your arm. OUCH! I hope it heals quickly too. Must be very frustrating not being able to lift Lucas for sure. I feel for you. You are such a great mom staying busy with your children's activities and schooling. Slow cooking are really good dinners. Especially when you are so busy.

Take care my dear friends, xoxo

Janie

The other night the low impact workout wound up by being KCM's Total Body Kickbox the cardio kickboxing section. Its an easy one. Last night no workout due to working late again & not feeling well. It was supposed to be KCM's MUL2BF (Shoulders & Arms) + Abs & Core ab section but will do it today. Leaving work at 2:00 hopefully.

Janie Sis: Happy belated birthday!!! I didn't know it was your birthday. What did you do? I sure could use a real nice calming beach walk w/you & little Rolly. Do you think I could purchase a bracelet from you? Do you do any that contain murano glass or sea glass? I love those. I do wear your earrings during the summer. Every time I pull out my earring tray there they are & I'm always thinking of you my sweet friend. :)

Michelle: You gave me great ideas for low impact but saw KCM's TBK instead & went w/that. Thx so much for your suggestions. I'll keep them in mind. No I'm still not in tip top shape but still trying to keep up w/my workouts. Great job on RWH LI #2. Well to me your still a VIP. Your modest.

Waves to Cindy. I hope your arm is much better now.

Enjoy your Easter weekend everyone & Passover!
Kathy

Very gloomy, windy and rainy outside. Suppose to be that way all day long. Ugh.

Kathy Sis, Great job on KCM's Total Body Kickbox, cardio, kickboxing section. Sometimes life makes it so we can't do the things we want. Don't sweat it. Thank you for the belated birthday wish. Sweet. Went for pizza and then UFO group had all kinds of sweets. O boy. Trying to work it off. LOL! Haven't made any bracelets from beach glass or murano glass. I don't yet know how to put a hole in the glass. So I make necklaces out of beach glass and my kiln fused glass. I love being called sweet friend, you made my day. LOL!

Take care,

Janie

I missed checking in on Thursday; did RWH LIHI Back, Shoulders, and Biceps. Friday was a break day and today was Party Rocking Step 1, timesave 1, plus RWH Ab bonus 1. Sister is on spring break this week and will be coming up on Wednesday so we can go to a Nationals/Mets game on Thursday. Looking forward to that. It will be our first time to Nats Park; 1 pm game. Sister got great seats too; we are in box seats, third base line. Sweet! Very excited.

Kathy: if you are enjoying the kickboxing, check out Cathe's April rotation. It is a mix of kickboxing, legs, and muscle endurance weight work. I might try it out for a week or two; see how I like it. Kickboxing is not my absolute favorite but it is a nice change of pace and you know how I love Cathe's leg workouts. Doesn't KCM have her studio in New Jersey too? If I remember correctly, some of the women at the Cathe Roadtrip last week drove to her class on Friday morning; maybe 45 minutes, give or take, from Glassboro.

Janie: I bet you have had fun having a birthday on April's Fools day since you were born. LOL! The bracelets you are making and posting on FB are really nice. Walking with Rolly is good but don't forget to get your licks in.

Hi to Cindy. Hope your arm is feeling better. I imagine you are busy getting ready for Easter activities.

Michelle

Hope everyone is having a Happy Easter. Got up early and went to Mass then back home. Had my Sunday morning chat with my mom and then did some yard work. Followed yard work with brunch at home with my DH. Finally, got to exercise: RWH Upper Body Circuit. I think the Circuit workouts are the hardest on the RWH series. They definitely make me sweat and get my heartrate up. DH and I did some it-takes-two honey dos and now we are relaxing. Beautiful day here today. Could not have had a nicer Easter Sunday. Kind of hate to go back to work tomorrow. Sigh. Oh well, it is going to be a short work week. Sister is coming over on Wednesday afternoon and we go to the Nationals/Mets baseball game on Thursday.

Happy Easter and dont' forget to get your their licks in!
Michelle

Quick check-in: Low Impact Circuit Step Timesaver this morning. Might have to lay off weights this week; too many honey-dos-for two yesterday has resulted in a little carpal tunnel strain on my right wrist. Have to see how it feels in a couple of days. Hope everyone has a great Monday.
Michelle

Saturday was certainly a windy gloomy day. I did KCM's Plateau Buster workout #1. Easter Sunday was a gorgeous day! I did Amy Bento Ross's Drop Set Strength (legs/chest/back/shoulders). this is a very long workout. I'll pick up where I left off w/biceps/triceps during the week. Tonight will do RWH LIH workout #2. I have major DOMS today in my legs. Hope my legs won't fail me tonight.

Michelle: I hope your hand feels better. Enjoy the baseball game on Thursday w/sister. Hope it doesn't rain on you at the game. The rest of the week for us isn't looking good. Nothing but rain. KCM does have her studio in NJ. The last series of workouts + the new ones were all filmed in Cathe's studio. All those lucky ladies that went to take her class live I wish I was w/them. She's thinking of having live classes through streaming just like Cathe. But not sure yet. Kickboxing is my ultimate cardio. Love it.

Janie Sis: I would imagine that beach glass is the same thing as murano glass? Did you already sell the items that you worked on for the Gallerias? Hope you enjoyed your Easter.

Waves to busy Cindy!
Take care,
Kathy

My arm is better! I still get a small twinge if I lift and pull at the same time but I can use my arm at least and should be OK with weights. Had a very busy weekend with my parents up, 2 Easter egg hunts, decorating eggs, and baking lots of food. We had a great time yesterday at church and then lamb for the main meal, my first time cooking it and everyone ate it :) Now back to focusing on exercise and eating healthy! The final March Madness game will be on the TV tonight so I'm planning to do Metamorphosis 2 on the laptop then will get back to cardio/metamorphosis tomorrow.

Janie - Happy belated birthday, sorry I missed it! Glad you had a great day :)

Michelle - Bummer on the carpal tunnel, I hope it's gone quickly. Great job with the circuit step this morning.

Kathy - There are times I tell myself I'll miss the activity run-around so I try to enjoy it! As long as it's not raining and cold outside I don't mind it at all.

Cindy

I'm glad everyone had a nice Easter. I did too. Today was a lot (A LOT) of gardening with heavy poundage soil. It was truly a workout. Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone. It was so much fun!

Cindy, YEA! So glad your arm is better! YAHOO! And nice you had a fun Easter cooking, eating and enjoying family.

Kathy Sis, Great job on KCM's Plateau Buster #1 and Easter Sunday doing Amy Bento Drop Set Strength, Legs, chest, back and shulders. Looks like murano glass is a controlled way of glass, Most likely. My glass is fused and not at all controlled, so I never know what it will look like, it's always a surprise. LOL! I still have lots of pieces at the galleries. It's almost tourist season and then I'm hoping they will sell.

Michelle, Hows your wrist doing? Great job on LLCTimesaver. Glad you are taking care of your wrist.

Take care my dear friends and have a great week.

Janie

Had a good workout last night to RWH LIH #2. I really like this one. Tonight I'll do Amy Bento Ross's Drop Set Strength (biceps/triceps). If its short enough I'll do an ab workout too.

Janie Sis: That's quite a workout you had w/all that yard work. That's not easy. Did you plant anything?

Michelle: How's your wrist today? I hope its better.

Cindy: Thank goodness your arm's better. Glad you & the kids enjoyed your Easter. Glad your enjoying TA. My GF just bought the Year 3 I believe it is of Continuity. She too loves TA.

Take care everyone,
Kathy

Last night got away from me so I didn't get a cardio workout in but did the Metamorphosis 1 workout 2. It's amazing how after a couple it times it gets easier and less awkward feeling :) My DH still thinks she's ridiculous but I'm feeling muscles get worked that I don't always feel. Tonight I plan an X10 + Metamorphosis.

Janie - I love that yard work gets results and a workout! I have some work to do but it's been rainy/snowy on the weekend (we'll take it so we don't burn up this summer) so it's not easy getting it done when I have time.

Kathy - RWH LIH #2 was my cardio plan for last night, I love that one too!

Cindy

Last night was a quick workout w/Amy's Drop Set Strength (bis/tris). Tonight will be KCM's Trim Down & 1 or 2 ab segments from KCM's Abs & Core.

Cindy: My GF swears by TA. Keep up the good work. She got great results from doing her after 1 year.

Take care everyone,
Kathy
