Getting Our Licks In!

Cardio Core Circuits today--sister's favorite (not!). I always think there are 6 circuits in CCC but there are only 5. Nice that there are only 5. Puttering around the house today. Tending to little "piles" of stuff that need to be dealt with. Today was high school graduation in our county. I think we have two high schoolers in the Circle that graduated today. Haven't had a chance to talk to them to see what they are doing next.

Janie: we've had rain just about everyday this past week. Today is gloriously nice outside. You just keep hanging in there with the guitar. Sooner or later your fingers will stop hurting/won't be so numb. Your voice can't be half as bad as mine. I'm just terrible.

Wondering when we will hear from Laura again. I hope she comes back to us and I hope that she is continuing to exercise.
Michelle

Muscle endurance this afternoon. Good workout. All those leg presses! Cathy is working my legs big time the past few days. I picked up with the June rotation last weekend, second week. So, now I'm on week three. It's a good rotation. Another beautiful weather day here in Virgninia. Think I'm going to take a little walk in a bit and see what's going on in Bridgeport Circle.

How everyone is having a beautiful day. Happy father's day!

Busy week & weekend too. Saturday did CTX chest/back/shoulders but used my light dbs instead of the tubing. Felt pretty good. Sunday was Turbo Fire HIIT 25 Class. Monday's no workout due to pt session.

Renee: I had thought I only had elbow tendinitis which pt took care of. However, I believe it really started in my shoulder. Its been hurting me for quite a while but I just ignored the pain. Can't ignore it anymore. Great workouts & for having everything planned for your kitties while you'll be away. Hope you take away some good ideas for next year's class.

Michelle: You've been extremely busy so its no wonder you had to take a few days off from exercising. You sure do need a puppy soon. Hope it happens for you.

Janie Sis: Good job on Supercuts. I just love that one. You'll get there w/the guitar. It takes quite a while to learn but you'll master it.

Had a good Father's Day. DH & I went to the wineries out in Southold. Gorgeous weather we had. Restaurant was in Port of Egypt right at the marina. Saturday night saw my nephew & his new wife. He's a Captain in the Army & he's home on leave for a month. It came as a surprise to everyone in NY b/c he got married in VA & didn't expect to see him.

Gotta run now! Be back tomorrow!
Kathy

Rolly, Taco and me went walking on the beach as usual for an hour or so. Joey and I went biking on our bicycle built for two. So Much Fun!
Guitar Update: Very proud here. Can now play key of A "Hey Jude" by John Lennon. Key of G using a capo "With Or Without You" by U2 (kinda Sorta). Blue Bayou (key of A) by Linda Ronstadt and (key of G using capo) Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Will start working on my strumming DDUUDU by playing Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett. All slowly still mind you, but I have a beat going on. My goal is by the end of this month, I'll have it. YaHOOOOOOOOOO! Then will work on "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and hopefully, maybe, "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles . I LOVE GRAVITY! You can now see calluses on my four fingers. Yikes!

Michelle, Great job on Cardio Core Circuits today. And puttering around the house. Makes for a good day. Glad you are finally having better weather. Ours is so beautiful as well. Oh, my voice! Not so good. Sigh... Hoping we haven't lost Laura too. Exercising might be a friend for her right now.

Michelle, Great job on ME today. Yes, I forgot about all the leg presses. So needed in my case. Nice to see you doing the June rotation. How was the walk in Bridgeport Circle?

Kathy Sis, Sorry you had such a busy week and weekend. Bummer. Great job on CTX chest, back and shoulders using light dbs. And for Sundays Turbo Fire HiTT 25 class and rest day on Mon. Sounds like a wonderful Father's Day at the wineries with good weather and all. And for eating at the marina. How nice! Nice Surprise to see your nephew and his new wife. Love surprises like that.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Went to pt last night. It went well but was told no weight training for 4 weeks! :O I really have to get a handle on this right now as I've lost 15% mobility of my left arm. Its only going to get worse if I don't rest it. Told my pt instructor there's always ABS & CARDIO! LOL She just shakes her head at me & laughs.

With cardio in mind I'll do ROKO premix #1 (can't remember what its called but its a goodie).

Michelle: Great job on CCC. That's one workout I just can't stand which means I should do it right? And also for doing ME. I remember all those leg presses. That's one workout that I actually discarded. I had it on VHS. How was Bridgeport Circle? I too hope we haven't lost Laura.

Janie Sis: WOW your doing GREAT w/all the songs you've learned on the guitar. That's amazing. I'm sure your joking about your singing. Yahoo on the calluses. What are you doing today as far as a workout?

Take care,
Kathy

It feels like this week has been 5 days long and it is only Tuesday. Not because the week is dragging by but because my work days have been so FULL. Did Party Rocking Step 2 yesterday morning and Butts and Guts today. We are able to walk up and down the stairs between floors in our new building (don't always have to take the elevator). I'm on the 8th floor so I try to walk up the stairs from 1 to 8 at least once a day. Good little cardio burst.

Kathy: no weights for a month--UGH! Can you do leg work with weights or is that out too? I supposed it could be worse. Sister doesn't like CCC either. I'm not a fan of the STS Cardio Blast workout but sister loves that one. Guess it is good that there is a lot of variety in workouts out there to satisfy all of us.

Janie: you really have been progressing with your guitar playing. I'm impressed. When you feel ready, maybe you can video yourself playing and post it on FB for us?

Michelle

Getting many things done to sell at the Art Association, didn't have time today to workout. I have lots of time tomorrow though.

Kathy Sis, Aww, it's only a month and you have muscle memory that will kick in when you start back up again. Yep, lots of abs and cardio. No, not joking about my singing. I need lots and lots of practice. LOL

Michelle, Lots of stuff at work can feel FULL. Hang in there. Great job on Rarty Rocking Step 2 yesterday and for today's Butts and Guts. OOOOO, lucky you having stairs to climb whenever you like. That is a good cardio burst. Maybe someday I will feel brave and maybe good enough to put myself out there with music. You never know. LOL

Take care everyone,

Janie

Last night was ROKO premix #1 (kickbox cardio + cardio gloves). I had a blast w/it. Loved it! My girlfriend gave me a good idea which is to do Lean Legs & Abs + another day do Great Glutes & on another day do some pilates instead of just doing cardio & abs. Great suggestions. If Cathe's holding onto 2 5# dbs I'll use a 10# db in my right hand. I'll try to improvise wherever I can. Tonight will be Lean Legs & Abs.

Michelle: You've had so much work its no wonder it feels like 5 days already. Hang in there. Great job on PRS 2 & B&G. Your lucky that you have stairs to use. We have just the elevators & there's someone at least once a day getting stuck in them. The building that I'm in on Wall St. has far too many violations. I'll try using one db in my right hand for some of the leg work. It depends on the exercise but I'm not supposed to use any weights at all with my left arm. Hopefully I'll be fine in a month.

Janie Sis: Your very creative. Is it mostly jewelry that you'll be selling? Enjoy your day. Beach & workout?

Take care
Kathy

We had a great mini-vacation and I did quite a bit of walking while lugging around 27 pound Lucas so it was some decent cardio to help balance the food and rhubarb-margaritas I fully enjoyed :) Dave ran his half marathon on Saturday morning and out of 1400 people he finished 19th and got 2nd place for his age group. I'm really proud of him. Sunday we hit up Old Faithful and did quite a bit of walking around the geysers (saw a big Grizzly too while in Yellowstone) and then Monday on our way home we took the kids to the Wolf and Grizzly discovery center and got a great close up with Grizzlies, man they are big. Back to the grind now and trying to catch up on sleep. I started my workout late last night so I did X10 Cardio and enjoyed the blast and sweat. I then started working on Minecraft birthday stuff for Brodie's party on the 28th (same day as my birthday though his birthday isn't until July 1st). You can't buy party supplies so I'm making somethings and just cutting out printouts of other items. Lots of work! Tonight will be Hiit 40/20.

Janie - The fingers sound miserable but I'm so glad you're enjoying learning to play. It will get better!

Michelle - I hope the week gets a bit easier for you and you find the time to get your licks in.

Kathy - I'm sure your PT isn't used to people wanting to work out :) Great drive and so proud you aren't letting it stop you from getting your workouts in.

Renee - Sorry about the stress with work, I work at a state college and we get a lot of the same treatment, people act like we're rolling in dough! Sounds like you have a great plan for next week, have fun!

Cindy

MMA Boxing today. I put this one in the "it's okay" category. I like the upper body arm combos but the lower body cardio bursts kill my calves. I guess they are supposed to. Sister likes it better than I do. I think she did MMA Boxing yesterday. We are having our first heat-wave in Virginia this week. It is supposed to break tomorrow and be "very warm" vice hot. Got to walk up 7 the flights of stairs from the first floor to the eight floor TWICE today. Just got to work after being at Quantico this morning, taking my lunch out of the microwave, and the fire alarm went off. So, we all walked down the closet set of stairs to the outside of the building and then after about 10 minutes, walked back up the 7 flights, again. It actually seemed easier the second time around.

Cindy: you had a very active mini-vacation. Guess when you have young children, you don't really get to rest. My good friend Janet used to say that when her kids were young, she took family trips vice vacations, recognizing the fact that she really didn't get to rest. I have to ask: what are Minecraft party supplies?

Kathy: I'm with you; I really enjoy ROKO. Also love Lean legs and abs. If you have Cross Train Express, you can do Leaner Legs too.

Janie: I had you with me all day today. I was wearing a piece of your jewelry. Do you still make the paper bead jewelry or have you taken a break from that activity?

Hi to sister who is attending her class this week. And warms thoughts and ((((HUGS)))) for Laura.
Michelle

Was in the middle of yard work and I simply got sick. Must have been something I ate. UGH! Been working on earrings to sell at the Gallery and also a few copies of my drawings, metal bookmarks with paper beads dangling, money rings and soap...Been busy. Here is a photo of some of the things I've been up to.
409654991.jpg

These really look much better in person. Really. Camera is too far away.

Kathy Sis, Great job ROKO prem. 1. It's always nice when you love working out. Makes me feel so good for ya. I think your friends suggestions are all good. I'm selling all kinds of different things. Love this stuff!

Cindy, Yes carrying around a baby is very aerobic. How exciting for Dave to run his half marathon and finishing 19th. That's even more exciting! Yea! Dave! I've seen Old Faithful and remember how wonderful it is. Looks like everyone enjoyed Yellowstone, grizzlies and all. Well, how can you not?! Great job on last nights X10 Cardio. Takes a lot to Mnecraft a birthday. Good for you!

Michelle, Great job on MMA Boxing today. Hope Vic hot isn't too warm for you. Do enjoy the good weather. Good job on walking up and down the stairs twice. Yes! Awwww, thank you for thinking of me today. It's always so nice to hear that. I still make jewelry.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Last night the kids went to bed early because they were exhausted so I did part of KickMax since I had a little more time. The Hiit style workouts have really improved my cardio endurance because the KickMax wasn't near as rough as it used to be. Wrapped up the last of the b-day stuff and feel like I have a good hold on my prep work. Tonight I'll do a short Athletic Training premix and then clean the house. Lily has been in a Cheer Camp this week and has a performance today, I'm looking forward to seeing it :)

Michelle - I don't enjoy the MMA workouts as much as I had hoped I would but every now and then I will get it done. We're ready for some warmer days also, lots and lots of rain lately and it feels like spring. Minecraft is a video game that little boys are obsessed with (you mine, gather, and build things in a pixelated world), the problem is they don't make party supplies for it like they do most things (Star Wars, Lego, etc) so it's taken some extra work on my part.

Janie - Those look so beautiful! Sorry you got sick during yard work, are you feeling better?

Cindy

Went to the beach with doggies for an hour and a half. I'm feeling much better and normal today.

Cindy, Great job on last nights part of KickMax. Good going on doing the last things of b-day. How was Lily's performance?

Take care,

Janie

Had to work late last night so no workout. :( Tonight I'll get to the Shape Pilates workout. I just ordered Chalene Johnson's new PiYo set from total fitness dvds instead of at Beachbody. Since I can only do body weight exercises now I figured why not try this? I love Chalene's workouts anyway. In the meantime, I'll do 21 Day Fix workouts until I get PiYo. Have you ladies seen PiYo on you tube?

Janie Sis: Glad to hear that your feeling much better now. I wonder what food it was that made you sick. Jealous that you get to walk the beach almost every day.

Cindy: That was a great mini-vacation you had. Sorry that you don't have any party supply stores near you. That's quite a chore to make everything yourself. But I'm sure everything turned out great & all the kids will love what you've done. Has Brody ever heard of Rune Scape? My DS used to be addicted to this game. Doesn't it make you feel wonderful when a workout you did in the past is no longer challenging? Kudos!! How was Lily's performance?

Michelle: I don't enjoy any of the MMA workouts but if I had to do just one it would be the Boxing. I know you suggested I do Leaner Legs from CTX but for some reason that workout bothers my right knee.

Take care,
Kathy

Didn't eat so good today except everything in sight. Ugh! Joey and I went on our tricycles and rode on the beach and around the neighborhood, took about an hour. Later I took the pups on the beach and walked about an hour. My legs are already feeling DOM's. LOL I'll eat better tomorrow.:( I started my guitar drawing today.

Kathy Sis, How exciting to have new DVD's and by Charlene Johnson. Did you enjoy her Shape Pilates workout? I'll take a look at PiYo. Sounds interesting.

Laura, Come back to us. Miss you a bunch. Hugs, prayers, xoxo.

Take care,

Janie

Another busy week. DH had his bronchoscopy of Thursday. Let's just say it was a LONG day and the doctor still doesn't know why his middle lobe of his right lung is collapsed. He doesn't seem any signs of growths but for some reason, still a mystery, his bronchial tube leading into his middle lobe is completely compressed. The doc was able to get some samples by squirting water into his middle and uppper right lobes. Will get the results on July 2nd. So Thursday was a bust for exercise and I took another break yesterday. Picked up with Flex Train today, which was lots of fun.

Janie: I love wearing your jewelry. It always makes me smile when I put it on. Makes me feel like I'm wearing a little bit of Janie.

Kathy: Since you are doing 21 day fit, don't forget to let me know why you aren't crazy about the cardiofix workout. I like the way you think: any excuse is a good one for purchasing some new workout dvds!

Cindy: I'm going to assume that you are consumed with birthday prep activities for Brodie's party next weekend. Let us know how Lilly does at cheer camp. I'm also assuming that your children are on summer break. Change of routine for you and your DH, yes?

Didn't get to the Virginia Kennel Club dog show in Richmond today. Might drive down early tomorrow morning. Goldens are at 10am or so. Plus, driving down provides an opportunity to see my golden breeder and finid out if Seiko and MaiKai have gone into heat yet.

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. Hi to sister and to Laura.
Michelle

Joey and I went to Pirates Day at Westport and took photos of a lot of people for my possible drawing subjects. Here is one I think looks a lot like Johny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. He was awesome, even moved like the pirate did.
409672070.jpg

Isn't he adorable?

We had a lot of fun watching the people in their finery as pirates, maidens and wenches. LOL

Michelle, I certainly hope and pray that your honey gets the care he needs and fast. Good vibes and energy your way. Great job on Flex Train today. You always give me warm fuzzies when you speak about me and my jewelry.:D Enjoy tomorrow at the Kennel Club and finding out if Seiko and Maikai are in heat yet.

Take care my dear friend,

Janie

DH is feeling better. Went to the Virginia Kennel Club dog show in Richmond this morning. Watched the Golden Retrievers and then watched some of the obedience and rally runs. I don't completely get Rally so I'll have to read up on that but one thing was for sure, the dogs looked like they were having fun. The breeder whose list I am on for a puppy has had one dog go into heat and the breeding is complete. Now they wait for another 4 weeks to find out if she is expecting puppies. The other female dog has not gone into heat yet but should any day/week now.

Sister and I have the Katy Perry concert this Tuesday in DC. I have to figure out the logistics of where to park, etc. Should be fun though.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Michelle

Today is Joey and my 23rd wedding anniversary. He's been my rock, my love, my soul mate and my best friend, my everything. He seems to ground me also when needed. LOL It's been an adventure living with him all these years and I'm a better person for it. And we are still going strong! I can't even imagine life without this marvelous human being.

Michelle, Glad to hear your DH is feeling better. Crossing fingers, eyes and toes for a took pregnancy. OOOo the Katy Perry concert sounds like a lot of fun. Have a wonderful time! Michelle, do you think Renee might like one of my jewelry pieces? I don't know if she does, but also don't want to force anyone to have them either. Maybe she doesn't give out her address, maybe she doesn't wear jewelry. But if she would like, I'd be happy to send her (through your address) something. Like you, I've grown to care very much for our group and she is apart of it. It's my way to show I care.

Take care,

Janie

Double wave pyramid this morning. I like the quick HIIT workouts.

Janie: Renee doesn't wear jewelry. I don't even know if she has her ears pierced. I don't think she does but I could be wrong. Obviously, I don't spend alot of time looking at her ears (LOL), but I've never bought her jewelry as a gift; she's just never been into jewelry.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday.
Michelle
