Getting Our Licks In!

Hi everyone. My new Cathe dvds arrived on Monday. I am in the last week of STS, so my new dvds will have to wait for a week and a half because I'm not skipping active recovery next week. Today was STS squat legs rack disc 4. I was so happy on those last set of static lunges. Just one more workout to go on Friday--tomorrow will be cardio core.

Working at home today so I don't have to deal with traffic. The I-95 corridor in the Northeast through at least Va--and probably even further south is just a nightmare on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Throw in a few accidents and it doesn't move. I get more done staying at home and definitely keep my stress level down.

I will be doing the traditional Thanksgiving dinner for DH, his son, Rob, and me. Rob's wife went to visit her family in Texas; Rob can't make that trip anymore because he is a retail store manager and has to work all this week except Thanksgiving day. So, he will come here to visit and have dinner with us which will be very nice for Joseph. Joe hasn't told Rob that he has quit smoking yet, so that will be a nice surprise. You all may remember that we were contemplating doing a crown roast but once Joe realized that he would not be getting oyster dressing with a crown roast, we reverted to the turkey dinner. Otherwise, I will be working on a paper and presentation for next week, exercising, decorating the house, and doing a little Christmas shopping.

Shadowpup: so good to hear from you. Have you got snow in Idaho yet? I see that Janie has snow which is unusual for her part of Washington State so I'm figuring you must have had some snow by now. Good news on being able to exercise again. Is there anyone left in our group who hasn't had a back issue? Maybe sister and Elle? Ah, the joys of growing old gracefully.;)

Janie: I was surprised to see your snow pictures. We are contemplating purchasing a snow blower this year--that should keep it from snowing here, don't you think? What does Rolly think of the snow? Ripken is kind of a big dog and he just plows right through but little dogs can have a rough time in it. Did you have to clear a path for him?

Laura: I love your enthusiasm and I'm looking forward to doing high reps. Enjoy Arizona! Come back with Misty stories.

Elle: it's great how you diversify this group with your love of yoga and treadmill running. The Golden Girls are a stitch. I haven't watched them in a long time.

Shoegal: did you decorate for Thanksgiving or are you jumping straight into Christmas. You were into candles a few weeks ago. I haven't done a thing in the way of decorating--yet. Will probably get started on Friday.

Hope everyone is having a safe and peaceful day before Thanksgiving.

Unfortunatley, yesterday my sister's cat died - Francis. :(:(:( Fran was probably about 18 yrs old - and was having a hard time of it lately. She sort of went down hill in a flash. So instead of going straight home after work yesterday, I went over to see Kelly. I remember Fran as a kitten and my goodness was she a little ball of energy - she could circumnavigate a room several times in a matter of seconds. She will be missed but we all know that she had a long and wonderful life and was truly loved so there is comfort in that.

Sorry for this downer right before Thanksgiving - which is the real reason I wanted to post today - wishing everyone a great holiday and to tell you that I'm thankful for each and every one of you!!! :D I hope everyone enjoys themselves.

Anyway no exercise yesterday. . . unfortunately and I was supposed to do Vol 1 in honor of Anna Benson. Oh well - it will have to wait. No Cathe DVDs yet :(:(:(:(:(:(:( - I suppose mine are on their way - but I have to tell all of you that I'm not a happy camper - again!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Wishing you all a happy holiday and a wonderful weekend.:)

Hi all!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Tis the season to express our gratitude, and I echo Shoegal: I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you. It's a true pleasure and a treat to have a group of friends who are enthused about fitness, and have such great personalities. Our group is a treasure and here's to Getting Our Licks In together for years to come.

Michelle, yep, we've got snow! There's about 8-10 inches that are sticking with us, from a high of around a foot. Fortunately, it fell after the local students made it out for their flights (we have two universities and one tiny airport) ... some years, we get weather-cancelled flights and that leaves a host of very sad, very bored, students roaming town looking for something to do. This year it's peaceful and white.

Shoegal, usually I get my dvds much later than others, but this time they came so very early I really couldn't believe it. I didn't even pay for speedier shipping! Maybe next pre-order will be your turn, or we may just all be doing the downloads by then, and it will be INSTANT GRATIFICATION :eek::eek: No fun for you to have to be holding all that yippee skippy energy in check, though, is it :( BTW, I see you're rescuing another dog. That's just wonderful! Another four footed life, getting a second chance right during Thanksgiving week. That's just the perfect thought to see going into the day.

Elle, I will second Laura on Cardio Coach! I used to absolutely hate the elliptical, and now that I have the Cardio Coach series, it's actually every bit as fun as any other workout I own. If you made me keep only two sets, I'd keep STS and Cardio Coach. Coach Sean is running a buy two-get one sale, it appears http://www.cardiocoach.com/

Janie, great pictures! We have similar scenes outside. I need to upload them and share. Well, some years winter starts early and stays, some years it comes and then disappears. Wonder what we'll get this year? Stay warm!

Safe travels, Laura! Sounds like a good trip, and very sensible to rent a car. In your part of the country, you need those snow tires to stay ready for winter!

And hi to Renee - guess you're at music camp, or just returning, and hope it was as wonderful as the tournament.

We're working hard to get the house in order before guests arrive ... this year is 'our turn' to host our neighbors. We don't *have* that many neighbors, so it really means nine for dinner instead of just us :) So, back to work for me, with maybe a peek in later. I also want to do another Cathe DVD. So far I've done the upper body premix from STS Total Body, and the lower body premix from High Reps, and loved them both! I agree with whoever posted earlier that these are some of her best work. Cathe is energetic and funny, and the workouts are terrific. Today, a strength day, I'm decided whether to do a full body workout or continue with splits!

The horses are all blanketed. You'd've laughed at me - this is the first blanketing of the season, and my youngest horse has filled out. He's completely adult size, built like a solid young adult and no longer a gangly teenager. Well, that's all very nice, but horse blankets are cut to fit and his beautiful blue new one is TOO SMALL! I had to do the horse blanket shuffle to get everyone toasty warm. Imagine three women trying on tight sweaters in a dressing rooms, getting a dressing room attendant to help them share sizes/colors and styles. However, in this case the 'woman' are horses each weighing over 1000 pounds, the dressing rooms are just posts outside a paddock, and the 'women' are inclined to get nippy with one another if they think that the attendant is paying more attention to one of their buddies! I was running back and forth, holding big heavy horse blankets, horses scattered around outside their paddock, tied to posts, nickering for treats or trying to get at grass ... persuading each to let me blanket them, then take OFF a blanket, then put a new one on ... , until the fit was okay for everyone. Each one expected to be played with and petted in between blanketing as a reward for behaving nicely. It took about an hour, with snowflakes beginning to fall ... Still, all three boys are nice and comfy now, just in time for the cold and snow . Given that it is Black Friday sale week, I ordered a few replacement blankets on sale. You can't have too many!

Temps really are extremely cold. It hit negative 5 late Tuesday night ... not sure how low it got after that, but it was supposed to be going to -9! We've been driving Clara to/from work, since she has never driven on snow before and we're not going to put a teenager at risk learning *how* to drive on snow in the dark, under time pressure to get to work! In between she's practicing, and I'd guess she will be ready to drive solo once more by Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday We've been busy trying to save a doggie that Joey found on the Winter icy road. Turned out he was blind, smelly and people were using a twine to tie him up. More later on that.

Helped a man and his mother with food and warmth day before Thanksgiving.

Went to see one of our daughters and grandson and shared a Thanksgiving dinner.

Will be seeing the rest of the family today.

Tomorrow will be a better day to share pictures and comments, but just wanted to say to everyone, keep warm, holiday cheer, and have a great and wonderful day.

Janie

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am blessed to have such a great group of workout friends--thanks to Janie for bringing us all together. I'm in between basting sessions with the turkey. Everything else is pretty much prepped and waiting to go in the oven or on the stove once the turkey is done.

Ripken was my Thanksgiving Puppy Coach for Cardio Core Circuits this morning. And I honestly have to say that having his grinning face in mine during that workout really helps to get me through it in good humor.

Shoegal: don't know why you haven't gotten your workouts yet. I bet they will be there tomorrow. Sorry to hear about your sister's cat. Losing a beloved pet is very hard. It was good of you to go spend time with her. I missed your post on the new rescue dog, I will have to go back through the postings to find that one. Ripken says you are giving special meaning to this time of Thanksgiving and holiday cheer. Extra licks to you.

Janie: sister says you can always tell what type of person someone is by the way he/she treats animals. You and Joey are most special to be taking care of a mistreated pup. Ripken sends extra licks to you too.

Shadowpup: I can just see you dancing around your horses trying to get them blanketed. I bet you had fun with them. And your back must really be feeling better, because those horse blankets are HEAVY. More licks from Ripken to Shadowpup.

Well, Ripken is such a happy pup today that he want to send licks and wags to everyone else: sister, Elle, and Laura. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello Cathletes!

I'm glad to hear you all had a nice Thanksgiving.:) I haven't been able to work out the last couple of days but i'm aiming to get home at a reasonable time today.

Yesterday i went and picked up my Christmas decorations from my mom's house. She stored a lot of my things for me when i sold my house and I wasn't able to use my decorations last year. I'm planning on decorating this weekend. I also want to check out Pier 1 imports for some new candles.:)

Janie: You and Joey sound like angels for that poor dog and helping out someone in need. Your snow pics look gorgeous!

Shoegal: Sorry to hear about your sister's cat. I hope you get your new Cathe workouts soon. I don't have trouble watching TV on the treadmill. I just turn up the volume so i can hear it. For some reason i cannot read on the treadmill. I need to be still to read i guess.

Laura: Hope you are enjoying your trip. I really should check out cardio coach. He seems to have a lot of fans around here.

Shadowpup: It seems like your back is getting better!:) Your horses sound adorable! Maybe you posted about this before but what happened with Clair? Is she still with you?

Michelle: Good call on the Turkey! I'm sure it was yummy!

Renee: Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Happy day after Thanksgiving. Ripken and I had a short walkabout this morning in the rain. Then I worked for a few hours followed by--drumroll please--the last STS workout. Yes, STS is now behind me. I feel quite good about it. I increased my weight amounts on everything, even if for some exercises it was only by a pound. One more cardio for the week and then it is time for active recovery.

Had a nice chat with sister this morning. I'm betting that she is watching college football right now.

Elle: it just seems to be that time of year when work gets crazy. I've been the same way. Decorating is on my "to do" list this weekend. I'm planning on going through all my decorations and taking to Goodwill, those that I have not used in a long time.

Today walked on the treadmill for one mile. Not enough, but it's OK, I'll walk longer on Sunday. Walked Rolly about 15 min. in the wet snow, he got chilled.

Concerning the dog Joey found. Once Joe put the animal in our jeep, he wouldn't allow anyone to get close to him. He was bound and determined to stay put. I called the Adopt a pet and told them he may be a sick dog, but certainly blind and old. Also called the humane society, but fear they may euthanize him. While I was waiting mainly for Adopt a Pet's call, it dawned on me that I've seen this dog before. I was pretty sure it belonged to the people down the road that are poor. I called the president of our Home Association for his number, but he didn't have one for this neighbor. Decided to walk down there (I don't drive in the snow) and see if they were missing a dog. Got there and sure enough they were missing one. He sighed and was so happy to know that his mother's dog was OK.

I had to think in my mind why I would give this little dog up that was old, blind, and not clean at all (he smelled so badly). For one thing the dog doesn't know any better than the life he has had, also he's 13 or 14 years old, (the last leg of his life). Plus the owners love him, they just don't have a way to keep him clean. I had to let him go back home. It's the only life he is comfortable with. Talk about unconditional love that dog has for his owners. Wow.

Found out a lot about these people while Him (Brien) and I walked back to my house to retrieve his dog. They are living in a very small motor home, with no running water and hardly any heat to speak of. The neighbors all don't like them, because of the way they live. They are essentially camping. The neighbors think their place is an eye sore and if and when people want to sell their home, they wont' be able to get the max. amount of money out of it because of these poor people. They don't have a place to go potty except in their port a potty and that also is an eye soar I guess.

The snow kept them from going to the food bank. So, Joey and I gave them as much food as we could so they can cope until they can get out to get more. They were cold, and the next couple of days were going to be at night 11-14 degrees F. So we gave them warm blankets to help with that. Also gave them our number in case they needed future help.

It is so sad.

As promised, here is a picture of Rolly and his new jacket, if you call this a jacket. LOL He seems to love it though, especially his expression. The temperatures were so cold, that the snow wouldn't bind at all and couldn't build a snowman. Next time it snows maybe.

Michelle, Great job on Cardio Core Circuits and having a Ripken support, yesterday. What a dog! Congratulations for finishing STS. YEAH! That is awesome!

Elle, Enjoy getting back your Christmas decorations and decorating this weekend. It sounds like so much fun!

Shoegal, It's always so sad to lose a pet. My Molly will have been gone one year the day after this Christmas. It's so sad, I still cry losing her. I try to keep remembering happy times and it still just makes me want her back even more. Hugs to (((((Kelly and You))))). It simply is not easy.

Deborah, Hosting neighbors sounds like a fun time. It also sounds like you are having lots of fun with the new DVD's. Do one for me K? LOL Can't hardly wait to get mine. The scenario of the horses sound hilarious. Wished I could have been there in person to see that. LOL Funny! Tempertures seem very dangerously low to me. Please protect everyone the best you can and be warm and safe. Clara seems to be such a brave soul. Wow. I will not drive in snow and that is all there is to that.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Janie

Wowzers, miss a few days and you miss a lot! Everyone sounds like they are busy with this and that, and a holiday to boot!

Janie, its so good of you to take care of that dog. Also, good of you to return him to his home. Its the only home he knows, and knows no different and is loved by his people. You did a very good thing. Proud of ya! Speaking of strays...there are the 3 stray cats I take care of and I have the kitten (6 months old now) cuddling, purring, and even had him inside with me, while my four lurked and watched. He won't stay in that long, but little by little, maybe I can convince him, this would be a nice place to live. I know my mother is gonna have a fit but, oh well, I've got to stay true to myself and do what I feel is right. As far as the other two go, well, I'd like to take care of them too. Maybe find them a new home, but I've got to let the trust build up over time. The mommy cat is the 'hold out' but even she isn't running that far away from me anymore. The daddy cat has always been friendly. I'd like to get him to the vet, nuetered, cleaned up, and a sore on his leg taken care of. Time...

I've done Intensity (aptly named), Total Body STS and High Reps so far. I may try Lower Body tomorrow, but I going to do a tried and true cardio today...STEP JAM! I love Cathe's new workouts...well, imagine that?

Oh shoegal, so sorry about your sisters cat. :( Its hard to let them go but when the time comes, its the only right thing to do. I'll light a candle in her memory.

I feel like I just became a green belt in karate, and in 3 weeks I'll be moving to blue belt. Holy cow, where does the time go!?!?!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday, and enjoys their December with their family and friends.

~Renee

Back in the car again heading back home. We had great time with our friends and visiting all of our old stomping grounds. We also got to see some other old friends that we weren't expecting to see when we went out on the town last night. It was such a short visit I just couldn't justify exercising while we were there. We did do a hike with my friends & our kids on Thanksgiving day &. I did a short 20 minute jog as well. I haven't run since the beach because of my knees, so I wanted to keep it short to see how my knees would handle it. They did ok, but I was shocked at how sore my inner thighs were the next day! Yesterday my friend and I went to a yoga class that another college friend of mine taught. It was fun to see her teaching. She has really come into herself over the years. I am looking forward to getting back to a routine and some simple clean foods!

I spent some time planning my workouts ( I figured if I can't be working out I may as well be planning them,). It is hard with my classes to have all the Cathe workouts I want to do for myself. With my current schedule & the ski season started I have had to shift things around a bit. Here is what I am thinking:

Monday: short snowshoe to the top of the road & back with Misty @45minutes
Intermediate. Pilates
Ski conditioning class (lower body focus)

Tuesday: Beginner Pilates Class
Cathe Cardio or X-Country Ski

Wednesday: Cathe HIIT
Total Tone Class (full body weights)

Thursday: Ski for 2 hours

Friday: off or walk with mom

Saturday: family ski day

Sunday: full body Cathe workout or circuit

So hopefully that does it!! I am so thankful to have all of you as fitness friends. I can say with total conviction that this group has inspired me to workout when I didn't want to. I am glad everyone enjoyed their thanksgiving and are now gearing up for Christmas!

Hi everyone. Thought I'd stop by to catch up as this holiday weekend is winding down. Been pretty busy getting geared up for the Christmas season this weekend. Let's see--yesterday, I took a break from exercise. Ripken and I did our 2 mile walk in the morning and then I did the last leaf cleanup. I was lazy and used the lawnmower. There we not alot of leaves and using the lawnmower made short work of the task. The wind picked up and it got too cold outside so I came inside and watched the VaTech/UVA game. Time well spent watching my Hokies win their 10th game of the season and give UVA a good trouncing. Then I brought up all the Christmas decorations from the basement and prepositioned them for today.

Today, Ripken and I had a nice 2 mile walk this morning--different route. He now has 3 different walkabout routes and he likes to rotate them everyday to change his scenery. Then, I did something I've been known to do every once in a while. I did a Cathe workout that I have not previewed. Finally after a year, I got around to doing MMA Fusion. Fun workout--don't know why I've been avoiding it. I fumbled through some of it, but that's kind of the fun of doing a new workout without previewing it. Anyway--sister will laugh at me for that. Then I got the outside decorations up. I think I have a half strand of lights that are not working that I will have to contend with next weekend. Also started decorating inside the house but have not put the tree up yet. That will be next weekend.

Sister: You are right. Mom is going to have a cow if you end up with 3 more cats. She is not going to hear it from me.

Laura: All that skiing will be good for your legs, just hope it's not too hard on your knee. Positive thoughts your way on that one.

Janie: wow--that is some story about the puppy dog. Think how happy you made those people. And you are right, the dog loves them and doesn't know any other life. You guys are having some unusually cold weather for this time of year, aren't you? Rolly looks cute in his jacket. Did you order the new Cathe workouts? I cannot remember if you did. If so, have you given them a try yet. I have my week of active recovery to get through and then I will be trying those out.

Hope everyone has a great week. I will be in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina Tuesday through Friday this week, but will check in.

~michelle

Went out to our favorite place to eat tonight, since we had a play to watch. Had a great time. We saw Star Dust, a once a year continued saga, which is mainly lots of singing. Beautifully done.

Just wanted you all to know, that the inspiration you give me is so damn awesome! Don't know what I would do without you. Thank you so much.;)

Renee, I bet you do convince that kitty that he is loved, I'm sure he'll stay one day. You are so kind. I think having the male neutered, cleaned up and take of his sores, is so cool of you. Wow.

Won't be getting my DVD's until the first of the month. Can't hardly wait, I'm so excited.:)

Great job on all the exercises you've done and even Step Jam, one of my most favorites.

You are doing so well in Karate, I bet that feels fantastic!

Laura, You are planing such a well thought out exercise, and I bet you are ready for it. Way to go! I know it was hard waiting to heal, but now it all will be worth it. Congratulations, you did it!

Not tomorrow but the next day, will catch up on mine as well. Have lots of shopping to do. Once I have that behind me can concentrate more on myself.

Michelle, I'm glad you got all those leaves picked up, nothing wrong with the lawnmower at all.

Great job on the walk with Ripken. Poor Rolly, he needs a really nice day outside. It's either been to wet or cold. Soon though, the weather will change and can walk him again.

Great job on MMA Fusion. It is a fun workout.

Pictures please when you are all done with decorating. Sounds beautiful.

I did order the new workouts, and won't get them until the 1st. Oh well. It will be here before I know it.

Joey bought me a Dyson on Black Friday, and I tried it out. It's amazing! My old one looks like a little toy beside the Dyson. LOL:eek: I'll use the old one on our houseboat. It will be perfect there.

Have a great night everyone,

Janie

Good morning everyone. Very cold this morning in Virginia--had a good hard frost covering everything--Ripken likes it frosty, so he was a happy pup on our walkabout this morning. After our walk, I did 4DS LIS--one of favorite cardios during an active recovery week.

Janie: you will love your Dyson. Joe got me a Dyson animal a few years ago and the suction on the vacuum is amazing. I'm glad to hear that you ordered the new workouts--the beginning of December is just around the corner. Maybe, we can try them out together next week.;)

Hi to Shoegal, Elle, Shadowpup, Laura, and Sister. Hope everyone has a super great week.
~michelle

Hello out there!!

I had a very lovely Thanksgiving with my family followed by another entire Thanksgiving with Rex's family on Saturday. Both meals were great - and unfortunatley, I didn't exercise at all.:( Rex's family actually served a smoked turkey this year which I was a little apprehensive about - turns out it was quite tastey - not bad at all!! I went shopping on Sunday with my sisters and mom and bought a couple items for Christmas - but I haven't made a dent in my list - although I do have 2 people done.

I didn't take any Thanksgiving decorations down either - waiting until Saturday was over since we were still celebrating. I should have done it though and I'm angry with myself for waiting. I need all the time I can get!!! Plus I'm out there buying more and more Christmas decorations - I am praying I make a significant dent in decorating by the end of the week. We'll see.

Janie - wow - wondeful of you to take care of that little pup - he sure did need your help and it was nice of you to help out that family. What a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving!!

Laura - Your workout plan sounds great - it is important to do something active and fun like skiing - and mixing that in. I think that works just fine. Glad you had a great time out in AZ - a hike on Thanksgiving sounds like a great idea!!!

Michelle - Congrats on finishing STS & on giving MMA Fusion a go!!! I don't know how you can wait to do those new Cathes - I think I would break my active recovery week because I couldn't help myself. Speaking of which - I still haven't received the new DVDS :mad::mad: - now I'm worried they will never come - I have contacted CS to see where they could be???!!?! :(:confused:

Renee - time does fly - here you are working on blue belt?? Wow - you really are good at this!!! It is so good of you to take care of those kitties outside. I would myself - who could possibly resist little kittens? I don't think it will take them long to figure out living inside with you is a great thing!! ;)

Elle - so did you get decorated??? I wanted to go to Pier One myself this weekend just to see what they got!!!! Didn't make it, though - but still managed to buy more candles. Instead of pumpkin I'm out buying pine scented jar candles!!! Yeah - I'm just candle crazy - I think DH is becoming very wary of my candle fetish - he is already complaining we have too much!!! But you can never have enough!!

Shadowpup - so how did the dinner with the neighbors turn out??? I just love your horse stories - I can imagine those boys worrying about getting the most attention!! :p

Alright - I'm trying desperately to take advantage of some Cyber Monday deals - but that isn't working out as well as I thought.

I managed to decorate for Christmas over the weekend.:) I didn't get to Pier1 but i will by the end of the week.

I'm really happy with my tree this year. It's decorated in gold, ivory, green, and bronze tones (It looks better than it sounds!)

My Sunday yoga classes ended and I have one more Wednesday & Saturday and then i have a break until January.

I've been feeling like i might be coming down with something so I haven't been on the treadmill since last week. I've been feeling tired and I developed a cold sore.:( Luckily i caught it early and prevented a full blown outbreak but it definitely means my immune system needs a boost. I've been taking Cold F/X to try and strengthen my immune system.

Goodness - my new Cathes arrived yesterday I am very happy to report. I promptly went home and did High Reps which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love total body workouts - this was a lot of fun. I love using a sliding disc (in my case, a paperplate). Tonight I am thinking "Intensity." Hoping I like this one too. I think it will be a week of new workouts for me. :D

Elle - don't get sick!!! I am hoping you don't catch a bug and recover quickly. I think your tree sounds wonderful - please post pictures.

Last night all I got done was taking all of my Thanksgiving down and moving it into one room. Now to put it away!!! I marvel at how Rex can watch me do all this and never once offer to help. I went over and asked if he ever considers helping me - I'd be out of his face much quicker. He told me that he actually did "consider" helping - but it didn't actually materialize into anything. So you know, men.

I wanted to let everyone know that Rex and I have moved on after that book on climbing Mount Kenya (No Picnic on Mount Kenya) - I'm afraid I never really warmed to it. I just didn't see the point. So now - the book was my choice - we are reading "Memoirs of a Geisha." Great book. I suspected that Rex believed this was a true "memoir" of an actual Geisha - and that the story is a retelling of her life. It is, in fact, a novel - and I let him know that today - that the characters are all fictional. I knew it would have the effect that it did - he said he doesn't want to finish the book now knowing this. I should have kept my mouth shut. Up until this point we were enjoying the heck out of it. :p

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Joey and I did TBS, abs work and stretches. I plan on taking Rolly out today, but the weather looks grim. If I can't, will be on the treadmill for 30 min. or about 2 miles.

Michelle, Great job on the walk and 4DS LIS. Give Ripken a little bet for me K? I would love to try out the workouts with someone. You are on. If they do come on the 1st, it will be late afternoon. How a bout doing one together the next day? Your choice. Oh! I love my Dyson. Incredible machine!

Shoegal, I'm done Christmas shopping, did it yesterday. Yeah! I do have a painting hanging over me that I started last year and should get it done for Joey for a Christmas present. He'd be so surprised if I did that. Hmmmm, I'll think about it.

The smoked Turkey sounds awesome. I had a week off and just now getting back into exercises. It feels so good!

Looking forward to some pictures of your Christmas decorations. I bet it is so beautiful at your house.

Elle, Joey and I don't decorate for Christmas since we will be over at the kids house. It's such a relief for me not to. It's so much work!

Your tree sounds so lovely. I love the color combination's.

Great job on your yoga. We all need a break from exercise. Come Jan. 1st you'll be all excited again about doing them.

Fighting a cold soar means your immune system is low? I didn't know that. I learn something new every day. Take care.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.

Janie

Hi ladies. A little late posting today. It was raining this morning, so Ripken and I only did a short walk, followed by Low Impact Step. Then I got cleaned up and packed up for my trip down to NC which is where I am now. Long drive--6 hours--about halfway through, my hip flexors start screaming. Just the way it is--age plus a little doms. Life goes on.

There are a bunch of us from my company converging here at Camp Lejeune this week. Tonight, there are six of us--tomorrow will be more. I don't know how many more--at least 3 more for sure. I will be enjoying nice long stretches the next few days and previewing my new Cathe dvds at night. Janie--I'd love to do the first workout on Friday, but won't be home until late. I'm definitely IN for Saturday.

Shoegal: glad you got your workouts. Wonder why it took so long? You are not THAT far from NJ. Sometimes you just never know. I hear you on wondering why you can't get your DH to help with the decorating. My DH is great on providing "advice" but not so great on helping unless I specifically ask for assistance with something and then it better be a short task. Two Thanksgiving meals sounds like alot of food, but also alot of fun. It's nice that your families are close enough to do that.

Elle: I also have learned something new about cold sores. I hope you are able to stave off being sick. Your christmas tree colors sound beautiful. I love theme trees. I do a nautical theme tree with some dog ornaments just because....I did go to Pier 1 this last weekend in search of a bookshelf, but did not find anything. No rush--someday I will see something that I like.

Just for fun: the temperature here on the North Carolina coast is in the 70s. It's not going to last through the week, but it sure is nice for a day.:)
