"Fitnessfreak's January Rotation for Dec. 30"

Hi guys, I've decided to pass on this rotation (though carefully saving it for the future!) and do the rotation I'd originally planned to do. I'd spent the last few days going back and forth between the two and decided last night to go back to my original plan. Truth is there's just too many wonderful rotation possibilities out there and being a rotation junkie I want to try dozens of them. LOL

I'm primarily endo with some meso characteristics too. Def pear shape. I go for about 6 hours of cardio a week, usually in the form of an itread or CC on the TM, then elliptical, then spin class, TM, elliptical, spin - rest on day 7. Of course when I throw in a Cathe cardio or circuit that's usually in addition to my other cardio. Thanks Debbie.

Well, imo I think you are doing WAY too much cardio. I would drop it back to 3 hours. Don't you get burned out doing that much training? I use to train for 2 hours a day and although I seen results, I was a skinny fat person. As soon as I dropped my cardio sessions and started lifting heavy, the changes I wanted happened.

I guess you just need to do what you want to achieve your goals, but I do feel you are working out way too much.

I'm in week three of your December rotation and I just wanted to pop on to tell you how much I'm LOVING it.

I just printed out January's and am really looking forward to it. I like the idea of using two DVD's for the weight work. It'll feel good to put all those DVD's to work!!!

Ha. I'm sure you are right and my PT tells me all the time that my weights are coming along SO WELL, that I really need to be careful not to burn out my muscle tissue -- problem is that I just love to work out.

So when you say 3 hours of cardio -- are you thinking an hour 3x week, or 30 minutes 6x week? I really appreciate your input Debbie. Your transformation has always blown me away!
 
Hey Everyone!

I had a later than usual workout today because of overnight guests.

I did do the SB/SJP cardio premix. I'd never done this premix before! I'm sooo not a fan of Hi/Lo, but this had quick enough bursts and then right back to Step (which I love from SB!). And I was sooo relieved to have the LAST Hi/Lo be the Low Impact one... :D I was pooped! :p

Needless to say, I was a sweaty mess. My HRM's battery is dying, but it said about 580 calories burned...!!!

And , yeah, I thought my chest would be sorer than it was from yesterday too. Not too bad, just when I stretch I feel it...
 
Just checking back in the report my workout:) I decided on CF after and I also did PUB abs. I was going to do MM abs again but when I started PUB abs,I realized that my abs were still a little sore from Sundays workout:confused: I also had to skip the LIC part of CF b/c my dvd was skipping and I was to pooped to do the last to DM cardio's(truth being, I don't like them;):p)

Well, if I was training you, I'd prefer you to do cardio on days you don't do weights. So I would opt for an hour 3 x's a week. And you should listen to your trainer. He/she knows what they are talking about. You are risking injury and wear and tear on your muscles if you keep working out that much. Just be careful. ;)

So today was PUB chest and tris and MM chest and tris with PUB abs. I did the ab portion first becuase it is easier that way. Hope that wasn't cheating.;) The pushups are always the toughest for me!
I went to the dr today and dreaded getting on the scale. I have avoided it for months and I knew I had gained because my clothes are tighter. Well, YIKES!! I would like to lose 10-12 lbs now.:eek:

Can you guys tell me what body type I might be. I gain fat easily and even at my thinnest, I hardly see any muscle definition. Right now I am training for a half marathon so running will be my only cardio. I just run 3 times a week....2 3 milers and one longer run. I LOVE step, but figure I should just do no more than 3 days of cardio a week. Does this sound right?

Checking in with 25 min treadmill run/walk intervals and the Step Combo Add-On premix from Step Blast. I am working on the Couch to 5 K rotation so I wanted to get my run in, but I needed a little of the Step Blast fun. :) Chest and Tris are sufficiently sore from yesterday. My pecs hurt just walking down the stairs.

Looking forward to tomorrow's insanity...umm...I mean workout! :)

Sounds like you are an endomorph. Do you build muscle quickly? If so, you are probably a meso/endomorph.

Fitvix, Happy Birthday to your husband! I really like my 30s. I look back and wish my 20 year old self had my 38 year old brain.

My chest and tris are yapping at me a little bit, but I can still brush my teeth, so I'm okay. :eek:

I'm too lazy to use a HRM.
I hope I feel the same way when I hit my 30's. Though - come to think of it I am sure that I probably will because in my 20's I remember thinking "I wish I knew all of this stuff when I was younger (in my teens)" Its funny that it works that way...well, not funny - more frustrating than funny.
 
Have not done my cardio yet. I will at 12 noon.
Fitvix, I thought that was so funny that you were throwing your husband off by switching out your DVDs. My children thought I was doing two workouts simultaneously since I had one in the dvd player and the other on the laptop.
My chest is yapping at me too. Not so much with my tri's. But I feel it a little in my back. Still I really like the feeling. Actually,I love it.
I do not have the workout for cardio today. What can I sub for it?

I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one whose chest has been reminding them of that workout! Today's premix had a nice stretch for that area - thankfully. My tris aren't bothering me at all, though. I never remember to set the hrm! Pitiful. Looking forward to more torture tomorrow.
Loved that for the past few days my son has asked for more ideas for working his abs. While he won't do the dvds, he's been impressed what we can do.

I did CC vol. 6 w/ Candance, and did Challenge 3 twice to bring the time to
60 minutes. I really like Candance, although it irks me that she uses the words "hurt" and "pain" as her encouragement. :confused: One day I'm going to count how often she says it!

Chest/Tri Work Pyramid and Gym Style

Hello Everyone. It has been a while. I was out of town and did get to finish the last week of lasts months workout. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I am a little off I did the chest/tri workout. I dont have the Muscle Max because I let someone borrow and have gotten back yet. I went for a long walk with the dog this afternoon so I will allow that as my cardio for today. I want to be on the same day as the rotation. I won't do a break down today. Workout was good though, I really pushed on the weights. have a good night everyone.

I am definitely sore after yesterday! My muscles can definitely tell I took a rest week last week.

I had to substitute treadmill/stairmaster for the suggested cardio this morning. For some reason, my body does not like doing hard step work-outs early in the morning. I had to do my cardio this morning though, so I had to sub.

Hello Ladies,

Today's cardio workout almost didn't happen for me today. I had to run around with my kids after work, but I figured better late than never, so I finally got to work at almost 8PM. I did Powerstrike 5. Good cardio without killing myself.

My chest is a little sore also from yesterday's workout. Surprisingly my Triceps are fine. I know I worked them good, so it's all good.

Debbie, I have a question for you. I've heard that being sore isn't necessarily a good thing, that sometimes it just means you aren't resting enough between reps, etc. I tend to get sore when I do something new, but other than that, I don't tend to get too sore. I know most of us have that thought that we don't feel we worked hard enough if we don't get DOMS. What's your take on this? I love to hear your opinion on this subject. Thanks in advance.

This is so late,but I just got done with an hour of cardio fusion at 9;15 pm. It is insane. I don't even know what we are doing tomorrow. Thanks guys for keeping me honest and dedicated.
