Goodmorning Debbie!!!! I am starting your leg blast rotation and I do have all the dvd's for it but I was wondering if I can do the premixes only and still get the same benefits as if doing the whole workout? I'm kind of pressed for time these days and can only squeeze no more than 45 minutes a day for my workouts. Thanks for your time and have a great day today.

Sure, I don't see why not. Just give it all through the entire premix and you should still see good benefits from it. Have fun!

Hi Debbie!

Just wanted to let you know that I finish doing the Slow and Heavy about two weeks ago and I loved it! I'm back on my second week of Gym Style for 4 weeks. You had recomended some of Cathe collection and was wondering wish one to purchase next to mix in with my rotations. If for some reason my finances don't allow me to purchase a Cathe DVD before I finish this rotation, what do you suggest I do next? I know a while back you had suggested I do Gym Style one week and Slow and Heavy the next week. Would I do this for 4 weeks also? Here are the DVD's you had recomended, let me know wish one I should purchase next to fit into my accomplishments.

IMAX 2/ CARDIO AND WEIGHTS
STEP BLAST /STEP JUM AND PUMP

Hi Lourdes! I've been wondering how you've been doing.

So have you seen any positive results with your workouts? I hope so. I've been waiting to hear from you.

Yes, you can split S&H and GS and do each series every other week for 4 weeks.

If you are only giving me one DVD to pick from with the above list, I would choose the Pyramid workouts. However, this is more for endurance training, not muscle building. But it would be a good change after your next heavy weight training weeks.

I have been so busy my in home daycare services and my boys playing out of town soccer tournaments, that I dont have time to post much. Yes, I saw some great results! I am having trouble in the mid section area I cant seem to trim it down! When you say endurance what exactly do you mean? One more thing I have notice that my muscles are feeling tired I'm not sure if I'm getting stronger. I use to be able to do between 20 and 25 boy push up and now I strugle to do 15. I'm not sure if I'm lacking in the vitamin or supplement department. Is it necessary to take supplements of some sort? Thanks Debbie!

Endurance training means higher reps. Workouts that get your HR up.

I'm glad you seen some good results with your training. And you maybe losing strength because of what you are eating/drinking before your workouts. I think you are having a protein shake before and after your workouts, right? If so, great! If not, you need to start drinking a protein shake about a half hour before your workouts. If you are, maybe you need to invest in some BCAA's. I get the capsule kind from BodyTech from the Vitamin Shoppe. I take three before my workouts and three right after. They help with energy and they also help with muscle recovery.

Should I drink the protein shakes before my workout both for cardio days and weight training days? One more thing when doing the parymid workououts can I do cardio everyday or do I stick to the same concept no more than 3 days of cardio? I will be starting my new rotation in about 2 weeks between Gym Styles and Slow and heavy what will that do? Will I built muscle strengh etc...? Thanks Debbie!

You REALLY need to drink a protein shake a half hour before your workouts. Find a shaker (like one that comes with the Slimfast stuff) and just use that - no noise. Mix your powder with water, shake it up and drink it. Eat a banana as well. You need that to get through weight training workouts. Have one immediately afterwards too.

I don't drink my protein drink before cardio. I always do fasted cardio but I have one immediately afterwards.

And no, do not do cardio on the same days you do the Pyramid workouts. Overkill. If you do a rotation with Pyramids, it should look something like this:

Mon.: Pyramid Upper Body (+abs)
Tues.: Cardio
Wed.: Circuit workout like Drill Max or High Step Challenge, etc. (+abs)
Thur.: Cardio
Fri.: Pyramid Lower Body
Sat.: Cardio
Sun.: Rest


The above rotation will not build, it will maintain the muscles you have and help you lose some body fat.

How would I go about firguring out how many grams of protein, carbs, I need for lean muscle increae? I'm about 106 pounds and 5ft tall. Thanks Debbie.

I think you would be good with 20% fat, 50% protein and 30% carb intake. Not sure how many grams that equals. You'll have to do some figuring and see what works best for you.

Do I try to look for some high protein food to makeup for the protein and calories or do I just try to aim for it the next time? Thanks Debbie, I really appreciate all your help!

I have these same struggles. In fact, today I'm falling short in my protein and too high in fats. I just try to adjust them as best as I can. I work up my plan first thing in the morning so I know I can change something if I have too. If you don't figure all this up until after the day is over, you can't fix it. So you need to fix the problem during the day, don't wait for the next day for make up for it.

Just popping in, I've been doing your leg blast rotation and must say I'm noticing a difference in my hips. I put on a pair of pants today that usually pop out at the front pocket area, but today they don't. I've been following your diet regimine you recommended of 1600 cals a day, with 50% protein, 20% carbs, 30% fat. However, I went for a physical and they said I had protein in my urine. Do you think the change in my diet contributes to that?

Could be. When you up your protein you need to drink LOTS of water. Like almost a gallon a day. Protein is hard to digest and hard on the kidneys, that is why it's so good. It makes the metabolism work hard. Drinking water makes your kidneys work easier.
 
I thought I was drinking enough water, but maybe I wasn't. Oh well, my doctor did additional testing to be on the safe side. Hopefully, it'll work out ok.
