First Day of School...Let's share pics

Hello, Toni!!!

Thanks for the compliments, there is something about a child's smile that really makes me get the warm fuzzies...maybe the innocent and purity that is wrapped in it. :) :)

Wow, I do not know how mothers get anything "done" when their children are less than 2 years old. I really struggled to get through the time when Tucker was 2 years old...Cecily is 21 months older. I am always fascinated by mothers who juggle everything so well and you certainly fit that bill, how did you do it with yours being only 15 months apart???

That is so funny about Doug & Lance! I do think that Lance takes better care of his skin, so his skin is in much better shape. Isn't it funny because Doug didn't really even know who Lance was when people started coming up to him and asking him if he was Lance! Doug used to get sooo annoyed by it, and as Lance's popularity grew, people's attraction to Doug grew. Doug has gotten used to it and just laughs now. I think it is their long faces, noses and receding hairline (very Bruce Willis) that does it! :D

xoxo, Denise :)

Hello, Amelia!!!

Love these pics,,,so adorable. I LOVE your DD's shirt with all those monkeys...seriously I think most kids are half monkey to start with!

And your DS pic in the box has me rolling on the floor! You know little kids have such great imaginations! They can view any item as absolutely ANYTHING - I guess the old attage about playing with a cardboard box????

Thanks for sharing!!! ;-)

OMG what a sweet thread:+ . I love all the pictures -- What a beautiful bunch of kids! Thank you for sharing:)

Kathy - This is soo funny that your DS has "Race Cars" on his cake...that is definitely my son's favorite thing right now too!

Also, I can really relate about considering your DD to be a "big girl" and your DS being the "baby"...I am in the same boat. Tucker just melts me and has definitely received more of the baby-attention than Cecily did.
I love this pic of your DS birthday!!! Yippee!

xoxo, Denise:7

Hi Denise,

Thanks,And I agree, kids are half monkey:).My dd picked that shirt out herself!

My ds came to me about the box and just kinda "assumed" it was for him,LOL! so I let him have it! He had a ball with it for hours(i didn't mind that one bit;),I got some cleaning done)

I love all the pics on here and I loved your DD's bookbag, how adorable! Your kids are so cute! You must be very proud! Thanks for sharing your pics and starting this thread!

What a precious thread this is! I have been a 4 and 5 year old teacher for the past 15 years so this age is very dear to me!
***Cute story to share***At the end of the school year, I give each child a very small puffed heart with a note saying if you are scared on your first day of Kindergarten, just tuck this heart in your pocket or backpack and know I am thinking of you. I just had the mother of one of my former students tell me she had kept her heart all these years and took it with her to college this year!

Enjoy and thanks for sharing the pictures!
Gin:)

Denise,

All I can say is I got through it with lots of prayers and talks to my mom on the phone. It was especially hard because my husband deployed overseas 4 times while they were little. He is in a position right now that will keep him from deploying for a little while. It was so hard doing all the "mother" and "father" work by myself with no family or friends all those years but somehow I got through it and I am a much stronger and more resilient person now. In a way it was good they were so close in age because they always had someone to play with instead of one being a lot older and one being a baby and not being able to play with each other. It was just hard when they were both in diapers and had to have everything done for them.

Yeah, I bet your husband is relishing all the attention now that he knows that Lance is so popular. They really look like they could pass for brothers!

Gin,what a nice story!
And hats off to you for being a 4 and 5 year old teacher, sounds like you are a good one;-)! what a neat Idea about the small puffed heart! Thanks for sharing!

Those are ALL GREAT pics!! Thanks for sharing...it made me cry and my babies are only 10 months old...
It is so great to see happy kids! Enjoy the fall, Everyone!!

Today was finally Isaac's first day of Kindergarten so I'll put a couple pics on here. One is also with his brother Ewan who visited in his classroom with him briefly.

Whaa! Sometimes I wish I had my own little ones, you guys and your beautiful children-wow!
Shelley, love the "attitude" in the second pic!:) So cute. She's a handful isn't she?

All of your kids are darling! I was tempted to post a pic of my own "baby" George (my dog)!:7

Wow Shelley, your daughter looked so stylish for school. Yeah, that second picture she is giving "the pose".

Lainie, I hope Isaac had a good first day! Cute how his had matches his shirt!!!

Omigoodness what a bunch of pics! Cathy2, I'm ROFLMAO at your daughter's attempt at a big smile. She can't hide her feelings, which seem to involve a lot of fear, I'll bet. Can't blame her for that. What a trooper.

Sophie looks like she just stepped out of a picture in a fashion magazine! What a chic outfit!

All the kids are absolutely adorable! Thanks for sharing.
