Feeling Guilty

Hey ladies! Just needed to vent. Very boring day today. I always stick to a very healthy eating plan, haven't wavered in quite a while. But today ate a little chocolate, too many weight watcher ice cream bars and feeling pretty guilty and sick to my stomach. I should of just got up and exercised instead. Thanks for listening. Lori

Lori we all have these days. Don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow really is another day. I feel that if I totally deprive myself I just end up getting resentful. Hang in there. If it makes you feel better I think I'll go and have some apple pie a la mode for dessert tonight. :)

Thanks Janie, I'ts my day off today from my STS rotation, but think I'm going to do some aerobics to burn some calories. If I can get over the upset stomach from eatiing too much!!

atta girl, lori! just dont make the exercising feel like a punishment!:)

dont be too hard on yourself - we have all been there...more than once!

janie, im droolng!!!:eek::D

It is true what they say about every once in a while eating something out of your norm and helping breaking a plateau?

I've been there too. Sometimes we just have an off day. A little chocolate never hurt anyone. As a matter of fact, I always have it in the house for "emergencies". We cannot be perfect robots all the time. When I have an off day, I just remind myself how far I've come (I keep a food/workout journal that I go through just for this reason) and I tell myself tomorrow I will do better. We workout with CATHE for crying out loud. Not many people could do what we do. My husband finally has admitted he couldn't do it after I dared him to do bootcamp, lol. ;)

You need to have days like this...days where you just let go and relax. Don't worry about it. I personally think it's good for both the body (keeps it from adapting to any strict schedule) and the mind (chocolate = happiness  ).

I'm usually very strict 6 days out of the week. Knowing I have at least one or two free meals on the weekend waiting for me makes those 6 days much easier.

Yes we do! I say this as I chomp on a chocolate chip & M&M cookie!

No, no, no feeling guilty! Just chalk it up to a day off - heaven knows we all deserve it - and get back to your routine tomorrow. No harm done!

Oh,oh, me too!!!! Big time munchies today!!! Easter candy still around, too. I've been munching all day. According to the Daily Plate, I'm about 230:confused::eek::eek: cals over for the day!!! Eeeek!!!! Normally, I'm under by about that much. Oops. Plus, I only did 30 mins on elliptical for exercise today, its been a lazy, rainy day. Spent the rest of the afternoon cross stitching, with a short nap break. Thing is, I wasn't hungry, it was mostly junk. *Sigh* tomorrow will be better. I normally don't kaplooie it this badly!!! Since I'm normally under, I'll just chalk this one up to an "evening things out" day:p Plus, the computer is downstairs, so everytime I eat, I have to walk down and then back up. See---exercise!:p

Nan

Ah I know how you feel! On Friday I had a chicken burrito with beans and rice for dinner! Then on Saturday! I had.....enchiladas....But today is a new day.

Blaaahhh.. haha

one day out of a lifetime is not going to ruin your fitness! heck, a few days out of a lifetime won't ruin your fitness.

besides, life is too short not to eat chocolate. and at least the ice cream was WW ;-)

I often wonder what associating food and guilt do to our psychological well being. I also wonder why people who work hard and take care of themselves make themselves feel so bad for having a little treat now and again and then confessing it to their peers. It just doesn't seem healthy or productive to me.

Rather than continuing to feel bad about this, take it as a learning situation rather. Next time you are tempted to eat too much, think of how bad you felt this time. And you might have discovered that some of these foods are trigger foods that it's best to not even have around the house.

You can't change the past, but you can learn from it to make the future better.
