Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
DS (5) has cardiac problems and we were just placed back on the 24 hour monitoring on Friday. Well this am his monitor was showing 2 events. So you place it to the phone and call the number and it reads the results to the cardiologist. During the early am he had 2 periods of asystole (heart stopping) for longer than 4-7 seconds. When they called me, I just freaked. DH is away and I have DS 7. DS has had this problem since birth but we were doing exceptionally well with a medication adjustment a month ago. Well it appears that he needed a new med entirely. He has obviously been having some episodes that we weren't aware of ( due to growth spurt). We are staying tonight and will come home in the am (if they can rip me away from here) and will be continually monitoring him. We are all exhausted. But soooo happy that we had the monitor on. God works in mysterious ways.

We are going to bed shortly. I will check in tomorrow. Sorry I missed tristater and cathe and Chrissy. I will update in the am.

Ellie, I'm so sorry to hear about this! I will be sure to pray for your son, but also for peace and comfort for you. Even though I'm across the country, I'm here for you! ((HUGS))

Oh Ellie, you and your family have been on my thoughts heavily today. Thank you for the update and thank heavens for all of this sophisticated equipment available these days. I know your whole family must be exhausted from worry and anxiety. Warm hugs to each of you and an extra big one to your special DS for being so strong and brave. Get some sleep mommy, daddy, and boys...(((((hugs)))))!
 
Wow, Ellie, you've had quite a day!! Glad to hear that they seem to have figured out how to solve the problem by changing his med and that you'll be able to bring him home tomorrow. As you said, thank God he was being monitored!!!
Will keep you and your family and especially DS in my prayers and hope he continues to do well. He sounds like such a trooper!

I was so worried when I read your urgent post in OD. I'm so thankful for the technology that keeps him monitored & safe and for all our answered prayers that he would be OK. Now get some rest and take care of yourself too:)
