Edge Booty Extreme Vol 2

Rachel uses medium weights and fewer sets as far as I have seen on her VHS tape. Also Cathes newsletter this week addresses this. Building strength without increasing the size of the muscle. Heavy weights with much fewer reps.
I really am enjoying doing yoga first thing in the morning again. I had done this for many years. Follow it up with a 2 mile hike thru the woods with my dog. Evening a paper strength workout.

Phyllis - this is almost exactly what I'm doing at the moment, and loving it! I do conditioning work on days I'm not lifting heavy, and it seems to really suit me.

Now - I've had a stroke of luck. I met someone at a party who wanted to try PiYo, and so we've exchanged PiYo for EBE2 for a month. I've only tried weighted legs. I thought it was a good balanced workout. Quite cardio, so I'd classify it as metabolic, rather than weights (even though I went quite a bit heavier than they did on the dvd). However, I have no interest in buying the bundle. She wouldn't look out of place in a strip club, and she irritated me beyond belief. Perhaps I'm just getting old and grumpy. I will, however, do weighted glutes, and then put together my own workout using the supersets I like the most from the 2 workouts, and keeping the 4x 4 superset structure. Glad o have a chance to try it, but happy not to own it.

You crack me up, Justine. Agree, I will use my sister's EBE2 to make my own workout. I feel better now, knowing that I am not the only one that found Ingrid irritating.

Bumping hoping for some positive update.

How is everyone happy with EBE2 program doing?
I would like to know how the kneeling squat/Stand feel?

Thanks:)

Been doing it for several weeks and now can do all 4 sets with weights but they are light 2x10. I started out slower cause of age and joints. I wanted to become accustom, stable and good form before trying to up weights. This week I did the first 2 sets with 2x15 then dropped down to the 10's. I have natural large glutes but I guess they are just lazy cause weighted legs is still giving me glutes pain for days.

I do get how Ingrid can get on people nerves but the younger me 20 something was a lot like her (minus the fake boobs and skippy clothes). I'm still never shutting up and excitable when I really care about something but with age comes more poise I hope ;)

I work with several new young nurses that haven't got jaded by the job. They get on my nerves at work. They pretty much think I'm to calm and don't care. They just haven't seen 25 years of the mess. I'm sure the older nurses thoguth the same of me so many years ago

Its funny with fitness system and stuff now day. Ingrid husband is the trainer and those of us that workout for years would of been find seeing him instruct her through the workouts.

The system is not marketed to us older seasoned fitness people . Its marked to the 20 something wanting a beonce booty. I've only watched clips of the millennial entertainers . The louder, shiner, skimpier is what sales now.

I know old Shaun T was about showing and sliding his hand down his abs. I thought he was just going to crap is crotch during some stuff.

Hi Nathalie,
Despite others not liking this set, I'm really enjoying it - well maybe enjoy is not the right word to describe it lol! Love the DOMS i feel after the weighted and plyo legs; glute workouts not quite as difficult but still challenging; upper body not bad, nice and short. Ingrid does not irritate me at all, i find her quite enthusiastic and endearing - i think she's very sincere. I know some of the outfits are more suitable for the beach but that kind of thing doesn't bother me. All these ladies are very fit. I even like the cardio dvd as well. Those kneeling squat/ stand moves took some time to get used to and are probably difficult if you have bad knees, but i'll try up my weight now that i've mastered the move. I'm not following the program as written though as i don't feel i need all the extra cardio she tacks on to most weight days as they have a cardio effect anyway, but i will do 2 Hiit type workouts during the week. I hope you like it as much as i do!
Jamie

Thanks Jamie for your reply! I am glad you are enjoying EBE2...I will share my views on EBE2 in due course. You are
right about kneeling squat/stand not being recommended for anyone with joints issues. I am fine. I do take glucosamine
because I love and do plyos. When I do a lot of I need about 2 per day as a prevention. I do ,on and off basis, take glucosamine supplements.
My knees are healthy so I make the most! Yes I know Jamie, we all love DOMS;););)

I have done some kneeling squat with no weight to master my technique . It is an excellent compound move. Full leg and glutes
are on fire:eek::eek:

Very happy for you Jamie, carry on having fun:)

This marketing strategy is pretty much across any type of business. In fact we have seen it so much that me personnally I no
longer pay attention to that. As to beyonce booty I do not think only those in their twenties want one. Women regardless of their age have insecurity IMO. We could set a survey and I am sure some old women want it too. Just my opinion

Well all these skimpies outfits, chest enhancement... are in my opinion trivial. I think this program has a potential

10 and 15 pound is very challenging load for a first attempt. I think you are doing really well. The pain on your glute for days
is due to the fact that you are executing a new move. IMO. You natural Glutus maximus is wondering what is going on:p:p:D
Great stuff. Thanks for the update.

Have fun:)

Like I posted before, I am already having great results with this program and I'm only in my third week. :) My legs and especially glutes are getting firmer and getting nice shape. I was able to dig out some smaller sized pants the other day that I haven't been able to wear for well over a year. :D

The kneeling squat move is killer! I'll be facing that one tomorrow. I used 10 lbs the last time I did that one. I probably will be staying at that weight tomorrow, but for other moves I'm going to try increasing my weights and adding ankle weights to some of the moves where feasible.

As for the outfits, yes I did notice the "glam" nature of what they were all wearing but it didn't bother me. It sort of reminded me of some of the outfits Chalene is fond of wearing in CLX. I was worried that Ingrid would bug me when I watched the previews but I was surprised to find that not only did she not annoy me, but I find her incredibly sweet and motivating. In fact, the more I do the workouts the more I love her. :) I love how she doesn't use non-threatening phrases like "toning" and she doesn't talk down to her girls working out. Instead she is inspiring and always talking about how "muscle is sexy" and calling her girls "beasts". :D I love it!

Happy you are gaining results --- No wonder though cause just previewing clips, I could see the challenge in EBE2.
You are on your way to that compact shapely projected:p asset---:)

10 pound for kneeling squat/stand is really challenging. You are doing great:)

The so called non-threatening term "toning" Pffff ---Grrr. It is unbelievable how people who are against lifting more than
3 pound dumbbell mentally manipulate/influence women not to lift HEAVY, just by using such terminology. This type of behaviour
is what irritate me/ moi;) I am glad you pointed this out fellow like minded @cokonkel ;)

Looking forward to joining you in this FUN:):)

Yes! I'm certainly not her target market - I wonder if she'd be horrified that old frumps like me try her workouts. I'm pretty pleased I can do them still!!!!
Mind you, I don't think she'd appeal to my 20 year old daughter, either...good job we're not all the same in this world.

@Justinef

There is truly no need--- I don't think Cafelatte had any malicious intentions---Sigh!!

Nathalie - I think you've misinterpreted me. Apologies to Cafelatte if my reply made it appear as though I'd taken offence. I'm laughing at myself no longer being 'with it'! As long as I can still do the workouts, I'm happy not to be on-trend ;) At 46 I'd look a bit daft in a top with my boobs half out....

Justine, Your post sounded as an offence. Let's just hope Cafelattee is cool with all this!!!

As to highlighted above, what is important is you feel great about yourself inside.
Us here do not really know how you feel about yourself --- Hope you feel great cause you should!!!
You can rock five tabatacise cycle without pausing---- I bet many women half your age can not!!!

Have a good day ;)

Have a good day in Yorkshire justine ;)

??????
Please don't try to make my post sound offensive, as I don't mean it to.
PS I don't live in Yorkshire

I actually got bulky shoulders to the point of not being able to wear my shirts while doing CLX. I've haven't done that with any of Cathe's stuff. I believe her routines are more balance at least for my body type.

I'm a mesomorph and gain muscle easily but even when my shoulders were "bulky" to me they were not noticeable to anyone else kwim. So in the since of bulking like a body builder they were not that big ;)

While we are on the topic of body type, I have just come across an article about lifting per body type.
It has come to light that we are not "equal" when it comes to mastering pull up. Interesting!:):)

Happy reading everyone:)

To be honest when I first read your post I thought you had taken offense which was not my intention. I was just saying I understand why someone would not like how over-the-top ingrids clothing and personality come across in these workouts

I'm 45 and have son's age 18 and 22. My post was to just say I understand why Ingrid would get on our nerves. I wouldn't of normally purchase a set like this but I loved the look of the leg workouts. I'm still loving the lower body work. They are the hardest at home workouts I"ve ever done.

I'm really glad you daughter is self confident enough not fall for image marketing. . She sounds like a lovely young women.

cafelattee, I appreciate your response. Thank you. As someone has said to me before, my British online ' accent' doesn't always travel well!!!
I've done 3 of the workouts now - weighted legs, glutes and plyo legs (I've probably got the names wrong), and I'll certainly use some of the ideas in the future.

:) You are setting a great example for your sons--- They must be proud of you.
If EBE2 feels hard, it means you are being challenged. As long as you are happy with the challenge, skimpy outfits,
bubbly chat and all the jumping half cleavage out do not matter!!!!! Trivial IMO!:):)

Enjoy your workout:)
