Just bought The Eat Clean Diet Re-charged ,,,,WOW !!! Sorry I didn't buy it sooner. I absolutely LOVE this book.

BTW: If you are looking at buying this version of the Eat Clean Diet, it's on sale at www.barnesandnoble.com for over 40 percent off. It's an online sale only, but it's going for just a little over $11.00 plus S&H. ( Paperback ) but it's the content that counts.

Just FYI for those interested.

I have the original Eat Clean Diet. Is it worth buying the new one? I've heard there's quite a bit of new information, but I'm not clear on how different it is from the old version.

Thanks,
Stebby

Oh man, there's a LOT more to the 're-charged' version than the previous one.

Chapters:

1.) Eat Clean Diet Principles
2.) What to Expect
3.) Breakfast- an Entire Chapter
4.) The Basics of Metabolism
5.) Hydration-Power of Water
6.) Reclaiming your life
7.) Shopping Clean

12.) Longevity
13.) Making The Most of Superfoods

My aunt just lent me this book and Tosca's eat clean family cookbook. I haven't looked at either yet but I can't wait!

Thanks for the info. I ordered it. I liked the first book, and well, need a push in the right direction again.

So I ordered it! Time to get my eating under control again!

Hmmm, I have the first book. Still on the fence about this one! My DH is going to wonder why I need two! LOL!

sygyzy, or is it Tricia ??

Anyway, I had to laugh at your DH comment because mine said the same thing.
All I said was "Honey it's like my shoes: I may have a ton of black shoes that look the same, but I swear they are differant !" ;)

Actually, I really wanted to get the 'Re-Charged' Book because it has like 50 more recipes, a good guide to eating out, and a newer 'cooler plan'. I just needed some more , fresh, clean ideas because my DH and I both tote breakfast and lunch to work. The recipes are outstanding. There's even one in there for 'Chocolate Almond Biscoti',,,yummers ! Lots of 'grilling ideas too !

I really have to thank Cathe though because had it not been for her, I would have never been introduced to this awesome way of eating.

Thanks again Cathe ! ( you too Tosca ! )

I have the first Eat Clean diet book and didn't like it much. I thought the recipes were pretty bland and took a long time to make (if I remember correctly). How is this one better then the first?

It's on sale at Amazon too. I just ordered it -- I'm excited because I've been considering this change for a while now. I've already been making small changes, but I'm sure this book will help me a lot. Can't wait!

Hey Fitness Freak,

Yah, I have to admit that the first book's recipes left something to be desired, however, I've already treid three of the recipes from the 'Re-Charged' book and they were very very good. I tried 'Ultimate Smoothie' simple and really good. There's also a recipe for Lentil and Vegetable Stew,,,,VERY good. Quite a few spices in there that takes away from the bland factor. Tried the 'Grilled Lamp Chop' one and wow,,,made for a great grilled supper. In my opinion, I should have bought the 'Re-Charged' version and skipped the regular one. It has way more ideas , and WAY more recipes. I am often subject to 'dinner' and 'lunch' meetings with clients so the restaurant guide is really helpful too.
Win, Win I think !!

I got the book not because I'm all that into clean eating, I'm not, really, but because Tosca and Oxygen always motivate me. I don't have anything against clean eating, but it's something I do naturally, rather than something I work on. I also think "clean eating" is a rather odd term.

I'm currently reading Vegetarian Sports Nutrition: http://www.amazon.ca/Vegetarian-Spo...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276707086&sr=8-1

It's really interesting and gives very different information from most of what is provided in other fitness sources and in some cases directly contradicts those sources for vegetarian athletes.

Thanks Morgs! Nice to know the foods have some flavor this time! I might just get it.

I have both the original and recharged. There is a bit more information in the Recharged book like cosmetic surgery, intimacy, more in depth info about certain clean foods and new recipes. I'll buy a third one if Tosca comes out with one. I love her books. I also bought DH a copy for men and I have the one for kids as well. I have the old stand alone cookbook as well.

Hi Morgs!

Tricia will do!

That's just too funny! My DH does the same thing when I say I need a new piece of workout equipment! "What do you need that for? Won't such-and-such do the same thing?" I always have to explain why I need it! LOL!

Well, as for the new EC book, guess I"m going to just have to get it! I love the magazine! Talk about great recipes! Tons of great, quick recipes!

Morningstar thanks so much for the link -- I've been looking for a book like this!

Okay, so I finally cracked open this "book" and read most of it this morning. I was really really disappointed. It is basically a magazine and she says the same thing over and over and over and over and over. She uses pictures and models from Oxygen quite often. A lot of those models rely not just on "eating clean" but questionable supplements to achieve those looks. She doesn't back up any of her assertations at all with any kind of references to studies or research. Her answer for everything that ails you is the same - clean eating (except when the answer is plastic surgery). I really like Tosca, but not as much as she appears to like herself in this "book". She doesn't have any sort of credentials to back up her assertations either, other than this is what she has done and it worked for her. She has testamonials on just about every page, and they are just so freakin' boring!

This book would have been really helpful when I was first starting out, and didn't know anything at all about nutrition or working out. However, anyone that has picked up one issue of Oxygen would have picked up all the information in this "book". There was no new information here at all for me. She spends most of the book trying to sell you on eating clean rather than actually making it a substantive source of information.

I read Oxygen regularly and used to subscribe. I like Tosca (and that she's Canadian!) but I really really regret buying this book.

Morningstar - is this the Eat Clean Recharged book that you're talking about? I was on the fence about whether to get it. The above is the impression I had of the original book (which I have) and I was wondering whether Recharged is an improvement or not.
Thanks - Stebby
