Here's NY's tattoo. I love it! What a wonderful message.

I think this is very pretty! Maybe you just don't like that it's bigger than you expected it to be. Wait for the swelling and redness to go down and re-evaluate. Hopefully, it'll look just as pretty to you!

Thanks, ladies! And thanks LaughingWater for figuring out how to post it! I'm hoping that once it heals, it will look less like Christmas decorations. It's just much bigger and more "decorated" than I was going for.

I really like it too but if you end up not being fond of the colors I'll bet you could get it re-done to look less "Christmas-y" once it heals!

I think it's beautiful! But...if you really hate it, that is the type of "open" design that can very easily be changed.

I like it! I think that once the redness and swelling goes away, the red ink will look a lot less bright and you'll be pleased. I think it looks very clean and well-done!

I like the words and the print. If it were my tatoo, I'd like it more if it were wider than tall. Or with more vines added to the upper left and lower right. (Of course, if one of the reasons you don't like it is that it's too big, that might not be a good 'fix').

(IMO, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of it: YOU should love it. I'm just giving some ideas of how you might consider changing it if you don't learn to love it.:))

ITA with you Kathryn. That's part of my problem with it - the vertical portions of the vines shouldn't be there (and I originally asked for them not to be, but the artist said he thought it would look best with them, so I trusted his judgement - sigh). I'll get used to it. I'm hoping it shrinks a little as it ages (which is one of the reasons he said it's current size was necessary, because tattoos contract a bit as they age). So, maybe 6 months from now it will be great.

I agree...I think it's absolutely beautiful!

BUT...I can also totally relate!! When I got my 6th tattoo, it turned out MUCH bigger than I had imagined. Same situation....I doubted myself when the artist said it should be bigger. Now I absolutely HATE it!! It's a very pretty butterfly, and if it were smaller I would probably like it...but it's huge. I'm currently undergoing laser treatments to have it removed....very painful, very expensive, and taking FOREVER....I just want it gone!

Anyway...just wanted you to know you weren't alone!! :) For what it's worth, though....I think yours looks AMAZING!!!

Packer Girl?!?! As in Green Bay? As in the amazing Aaron Rodgers!! Fellow fan here!!

Thanks, all. I've been told by several people that it doesn't really look that big, so it's probably just me freaking out unnecessarily. I also like the idea of possibly darkening the flowers (many weeks from now!) if they still appear to bright.

Starting to feel at least a little better about it. (no choice, right!! haha)

I really appreciate all of you and your support. Thank you so much!

Wow, when you originally posted that you hated it, my imagination was running wild. I think that's really lovely. I hope you come to like it (or find some "edit" that works)!

I agree with the others, its pretty!! And that is the type of design you could add to later if you wanted. Maybe add some small flowers in a different color? Then it might not look so christmas-y to you. I hope you learn to love it!

I'm with Hannah though, when you said you hated it, I was expecting a really horrible tattoo, lol!

I think the words and lettering are beautiful. I really hope you start to like it more once the redness and swelling go down.
