Did everyone get home ok? Check-in!

Catherine, I ended up getting home before you. I got home about 8 last night but skipped out on the brunch because I didn't want to get home about 11 or 12. I hadn't planned on missing the brunch :( but hated the thought of being on the road that late. It was a great trip!

People were looking for you at the brunch. I knew I'd seen you earlier in the morning, but didn't know you were leaving. You made some good time.

Darn storms have messed me up almost every year!!

I made it home but was stuck on 76 for awhile. I exited 76 and got a nice tour of western Philly! It took me about 2 hours longer but who cares...I was still high from the fun of the weekend. It was so nice to meet everyone. Can't wait to go back next year!

It was a last minute decision that I made that morning. I told a few people around me on the bus. I'm sorry I missed it now but glad to get home when I did. If I go again, I'll fly. :p

Glad you made it home okay, Melissa! :D It was great meeting you this weekend!

Rhondalyn, I enjoyed meeting you too. I had a blast. I think that I will fly next year too. I had thought about driving to the brunch and wish I had. I was ready to leave at 10 and would have avoided that storm and been home around 3:30 instead of 6:30. Live and learn!

Melissa, exactly what happened to me. I sat in that parking lot named route 76 for 2 hours only to be turned around back to Philly. The western suburbs are lovely, aren't they? LOL

Made it home by 7:30 last night. What a blast that was!! Thanks for the roaring good time everyone.

I got home a little after midnight... damn travel delays. I'm very familiar with all the stores in Terminal A at PHI, LOL.

I made it home by 1:00 pm, no problems and mercifully no delays on the NJ Turnpike. Fun weekend! It was nice to see some familiar faces and meet so many new & wonderful Catheites. :)

Travel woes!!!!

Hi everyone! I hope by now you all have made it home safely!! My trip home is usually a drive of about 3 hrs, and I consider myself lucky. This time was different, though. I am now home 24 hours later:confused: I hit the wicked storm some of you mentioned. There were tornado warnings; yikes! I was traveling north on the Jersey Turnpike when it hit. Then my driver's side windshield wiper bent all the way left, and broke!!! I could not see a thing, and the wipers did not work AT ALL! I was very lucky to be a mile away from the rest stop (There is usually 20 to 30 miles between exits/rest stops!) I managed to get the car to the rest stop. But I was still 80 miles from home, with broken wipers....I waited a few hours for the storms to subside. Luckily, my sister and her husband live 40 miles from where I was. My brother-in-law rescued me. We got the car to their place, but even that was tricky because the roads were flooded, with lots of puddles that would splash and make visiblity really tough, with broken wipers. But we made it. I waited until the morning so the roads would be dry. I did not want to take any chances!!! So now the car is in the shop being repaired. They actually have to take the whole transmission apart to fix the wipers:mad: Well, at least I am home, 24 hours later, safe, grateful, happy, sore!!!! It could have been ALOT worse. I hope everyone else got home ok! It was great to meet you all! Take care, Nancy J.(red-head that used to be blonde!)

Nancy - I FINALLY recognize you now!!! I know you said you used to be blond, but it still didn't click until I saw your picture. You are absolutely gorgeous either way. :)

Hi Everyone:
I got home at 9:45PM(PST) last night, which is 12:45AM(EST).
I sure did sleep well, and am sore!!! I was making up for my lack of sleep at the RT, and am glad to me in my own time zone!

I rode in the Rapid Rover with Mommapew, Patricia, so that was fun, and glad I didn't have to ride by myself tp to the airport! When I got to the airport to do the self check-in, it said I had to pay $150 more to American Airlines. Eventually it was figured out that my itinery was wrong, and I was sent down to US Airways, where again they said I had to pay $150, also! UGhh, no way, as I politely argued for a few minutes that I had prepaid for my tickets weeks ago. She eventually dropped the $150 charge(yay!), and didn't charge anything or my checked in luggage(yay again!).

Upon landing, I picked up my luggage, got my car and tried to pay my parking fee, but the machine ate my ticket. I couldn't leave the parking lot! The lady on the intercom said I needed to go to a different exit and talk in person with the cashier. That took another 15 minutes when they collected all this info from me(driver's license, credit card, car license, phone number, verification of when I arrived at airport(Wednesday), etc. etc). Then I paid the $50 to get out of that darned "economy" parking lot...

Yeah, too bad Rhondalyn that missed lunch, but at least we got some pics of us with Cathe in the final workout! It was fun to meet you and everyone!

Now I am ready to go to one of Cathe's tours if she has it in Seattle or San Diego!

Home safe and sound, about 9 hours later than expected though:eek:

My 7:40pm flight didn't take off until 9pm so I missed my connection by 1/2hr. My airline put me up in a hotel and got me on the 1st flight out at 7:45am and I was home by 9am Mon. It was a vacation day for me so no biggie.

Linda - OMG, that sounded like a nightmare for you!!!

Next year everyone has to wear Cathe t-shirts so we can all mingle at the airport as there seems to be a trend going on here....

I (finally) got home yesterday!! By the time I got out of Philly and made my connection in Milwaukee--they held the plane for me---I didn't land in Minneapolis until after 9pm. Since I was completely sleep-deprived and in no condition to drive 3 hours, I stayed at a friend's house in Minneapolis. Got to my house about Noon yesterday. Am I ever glad I took Monday off!!

My interesting experience at the airport, in addition to being delayed 3 1/2 hours, was once on the plane all of these circumstances followed:

1) I was seated in the last row and seat but directly across from the lavatory. It was the only one on the plane, there was going to be a lot of traffic while I was sleeping

2) The 5 very cute but very active children were all seated directly in front of me. One of the kids would scream (yes scream) about every 5 minutes. For no reason at all.

3) A woman got on the plane and immediately started yelling at the flight attendant. Not sure what the dust-up was about but she ended up seated next to me.

4) Right before closing the doors, the flight attendant came back to my row (I was hoping she was going to move the angry lady) and started fiddling with the overhead panel above my seat. It was sort of bowed in the middle. Well, she gave it a good smack and *poof* dust went flying all over me and the angry lady, and the panel fell down!!:confused: They had to call maintenance to come fix the panel. That "incident" plus the line up of planes taking off ahead of us delayed take off by about 1 hour!!

On the upside, the smoothie from the Guava and Java stand at the airport was delicious!

Oh, and about 30 miles from home I got pulled over by the State Patrol!! I was on the phone (not illegal here yet!) and, apparently, speeding!! I was still so tired from the weekend that I was just emotionally "done". I started bawling before the trooper got out of his car! He asked me how fast I thought I was going. I said, "65 or 70?". He chuckled, and said, "That's the speed limit. You were going 82!":eek: I told him, through my tears, "I'm so sorry, I'm so tired and I just want to get home." He took my info back to his car and about 2 minutes later he came back and told me to slow down and drive carefully. So then I started crying again and squeaked out a "thank you".

Whew!! What trip back!! :D

Patricia: That is so funny about your suspicious Cathe gear!!
Linda: What a nightmare!! But I'm glad you made it home safely!

Hi everyone. I'm late checking-in :) I made it home almost exactly 12 hours from the time I left the hotel (12 hours and 40 minutes to be exact). No airline delays though (thank goodness). I hated driving in that storm to the airport though and I missed the exit after the WWB. :( Took me a little while to figure out where I was going. I made it though.:D Sorry to hear about everyone's travel nightmares but I'm glad everyone made it home ok.

I missed Sunday morning class and the brunch. For some reason I could not sleep at all Saturday night. I finally fell asleep between 5 and 5:30 am. I knew I couldn't make the long trip home on no sleep so I opted to stay in my room and sleep a few hours instead of going to the class or brunch. :( Very disapointed. Had a great time otherwise and met some new friends.:D

Glad everyone is home safe and sound...
My flight out of Philly was scheduled for 6pm and stayed on time but that still gave me a 5 hour wait in the airport. Not sure if I'll ever be the same after spending THAT much time people watching! LOL

Can't wait until next year....:p
