I (finally) got home yesterday!! By the time I got out of Philly and made my connection in Milwaukee--they held the plane for me---I didn't land in Minneapolis until after 9pm. Since I was completely sleep-deprived and in no condition to drive 3 hours, I stayed at a friend's house in Minneapolis. Got to my house about Noon yesterday. Am I ever glad I took Monday off!!
My interesting experience at the airport, in addition to being delayed 3 1/2 hours, was once on the plane all of these circumstances followed:
1) I was seated in the last row and seat but directly across from the lavatory. It was the only one on the plane, there was going to be a lot of traffic while I was sleeping
2) The 5 very cute but very active children were all seated directly in front of me. One of the kids would scream (yes scream) about every 5 minutes. For no reason at all.
3) A woman got on the plane and immediately started yelling at the flight attendant. Not sure what the dust-up was about but she ended up seated next to me.
4) Right before closing the doors, the flight attendant came back to my row (I was hoping she was going to move the angry lady) and started fiddling with the overhead panel above my seat. It was sort of bowed in the middle. Well, she gave it a good smack and *poof* dust went flying all over me and the angry lady, and the panel fell down!!
They had to call maintenance to come fix the panel. That "incident" plus the line up of planes taking off ahead of us delayed take off by about 1 hour!!
On the upside, the smoothie from the Guava and Java stand at the airport was delicious!
Oh, and about 30 miles from home I got pulled over by the State Patrol!!
I was on the phone (not illegal here yet!) and, apparently, speeding!! I was still so tired from the weekend that I was just emotionally "done". I started bawling before the trooper got out of his car! He asked me how fast I thought I was going. I said, "65 or 70?". He chuckled, and said, "That's the speed limit. You were going 82!"
I told him, through my tears, "I'm so sorry, I'm so tired and I just want to get home." He took my info back to his car and about 2 minutes later he came back and told me to slow down and drive carefully. So then I started crying again and squeaked out a "thank you".
Whew!! What trip back!!
Patricia: That is so funny about your suspicious Cathe gear!!
Linda: What a nightmare!! But I'm glad you made it home safely!
