December Rotation

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Good Morning Ladies,

Sorry I didn't get on-line yesterday. It was a another non-stop day for me.
I did get in GS Legs for my workout though. Went up in weights and boy am I feeling it today! }(
I do have the HSC but it is still wrapped in its original plastic wrap so I am putting this under the tree as well for christmas. ;-)

Kim: Sorry to hear about your tree problems. I gave up on getting a real tree years ago. Now I have one that is all ready to go with lights already attached. :7 What was the HSC like for you? Were the exercises similar to those on Pyramids?

Kate: You deserve this rest day! Have a good one.

Kathy: I hope you and your sister are having a nice time.

Rockael: When I get confused with some of the tricky step work I do the same thing as your husband.;-)

Today's workout:
KPC
coremax 3
stretch max 3

Was going to do PLB but did the GS Legs yesterday. I don't think I can handle doing legs 2 days in a row.;-)

Have a great day! BBL Heidi :)

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Rockael - That's awesome that DH is at least "with you" while he's jogging. I think my DH sees this as his "garage time". Oh well - we all need our space I guess.

Heidi - GS Legs is one of the few workouts I don't have. No fear, I'm sure Santa will bring it to me! ...Great w/o today too!

I got over 7 hours of sleep last night and I feel fantastic today. Very much enjoying my rest day already, maybe I'll get my DDs to do Str.Max w/ me.

See you later!

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hi ladies..

I have been busy with my nephew...and enjoying it!!!

I rested Monday and yesterday I did HSTA while he was napping..Today, I am going to try to get some elliptical in during naptime..They go home tomorrow. Then back to normal...

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hello Kate and Kathy,

Kathy: I hope you can get your workout in! :)

Kate: I am with you when it comes to company...nice to have them but can't wait to get things back to normal! Entertaining takes too much energy.

Well lets see how far I got today....
laundry
dishes
made an Eat-Clean Shepard's Pie
Went to do KPC but my legs are so tight from yesterdays GS Legs I did LIS with an 8" step. Great workout to loosen up! }(

Now I am showered and my DH is home from the orthopedic doc. He has something stuck in his knee from working on the third floor. (piece of wood or something) He needs to have surgery next week to have it taken out. He will now be out of work for 4 1/2 weeks from that, christmas vacation and our trip coming in January.
I hope I can get my workouts in while he is home!

How is everyone's day going so far? BBL Heidi :D

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Thanks Kate!

It shouldn't be all that bad for him. But for me....Might need a sanity check by the end!;-)

Have a great night...BBT :D

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Heidi, I understand completely! My DH is a total baby when he gets sick! LOL!

Today's w/o is supposed to be a 30 min. powerwalk, but I'll sub in 4DS LIS cardio. And Coremax 1 - maybe DH will join me. Yeah, right!:)

Have a great day!

December Rotation Check-in

Good morning! Well, it is morning anyway. I have a fierce case of PMS, and I am tempted to eat anything that is not nailed down and can’t outrun me. I am officially falling off the December rotation this morning. Running is Cathe’s game plan for today. I fear that I might run to Cracker Barrel! It is actually in the 30s this morning and way too cold for this Texas girl. I am not a treadmill runner either, and the morning staff at the club would pass out if I walked in after all this time! I have not been to the club since Halloween, and I do not remember the last time I was there in the morning.

The weather in Texas is crazy this week. It has been cycling between hot and sunny (in the 80s) to cold and rainy (in the 40s) on alternating days. My body is in shock! Thankfully, I am maintaining a positive attitude and keeping the blues at bay. I invested in a light box last year (as therapy for SAD). That helps. I have also learned to be gentle with myself this time of year and keep stress to a minimum. I spend more time reading, watching movies, and relaxing with friends. I do not pressure myself to be as productive. Blessing my body with more sleep and taking time to rest and recharge is more beneficial. I am content to maintain my weight this month. I enjoy treats in moderation and drink plenty of water. I do not stress over trying to be perfect with my eating. And Cathe’s fun workouts, praise God, just plain make me happy! The December rotation so far has been perfect for me because I need fun and less demanding workouts this month. Pushing myself too hard or going to the opposite extreme and not working out at all can send me sliding down a slippery slope into a pit of depression. I am not in the mood for running today or HSTA leg press hell tomorrow. I have not done a non-Cathe workout in months, so I may pull out a Kari or Christi dancy hi-lo workout this morning.

I had a run-in with miniature Reese’s peanut butter cups and Hershey’s Hugs this week. I lost the fight!

Blessings,
Heather B.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Heather, Your opening comment cracked me up! I coulod relate last night for sure!

Keep your chin up - "we're in this together!"

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hi Heather, Kate and all who follow,

Heather: Keep up the good work you have been doing. You'll get through this.:) A good step workout instead of weights or running might be in order. I am always smiling when I do Cathe's LIS or something close to this. It is just so much fun and lifts my sprirts everytime.

Looks like we are in for a good snowstorm here. Up to 1-2" per hour. :) Will be running outside today for sure!

DS has 1/2D today and I have the usual running around to do. I will be back later this afternoon. Have a great workout and day! :7 Heidi

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Heather: You are cracking me up!!!

I am not a treadmill runner either. So, yesterday I did the elliptical and today I need to do the other brisk walk. But, it isn't very nice out and is suppose to rain or snow or sleet or whatever later. I think I will join Kate and do LIS. I really like that cardio and I will do Coremax and some stretching. All that when I get back from the library and piano lessons...

Heidi: Wow that is alot of snow...Hope we don't get that much in Northern VA...

Hi Rockael and Kim and anyone else I missed. Hope everyone has been able to keep up with the rotation. I am enjoying it. We are going to the inlaws for Christmas. So, I am hoping to get ahead on the rotation before then. They have a treadmill. So, I can walk on it. I am not much for running on it. I thought about bringing some videos like coremax and stretch or even kickmax that don't require the step..

Have a great day!!

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Heidi - Have fun w/ DD...and the snow!! I'm so jealous - We are so overdue!

Kathy - I'm feeling really full of energy so I might do C&W tonight and LIS tomorrow. We'll see how energetic I feel at 8 tonight! Good planning on your visiting. I love to be able to bring along workouts to do.

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Heidi - Did you get your snow?! Wish we would....

I just finished 4DS LIS cardio and I did the abs from it instead of Coremax. I didn't feel like coming back upstairs to change DVDs. Shoulda took it w/ me...

Tomorrow is C&W - a favorite!

Sleep tight!

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hi Everyone:
Just checking in.
Wednesday I did Cardio Kicks/Also Legs& Shoulders from Slow&Heavy, and Abs from CTX. I just have to have a Ab workout even though, like Cathe said in Cardio Kicks, you don't need to. Since it is all Core work. We had to go to the Office Party today, I am pooped so I will do two workouts tomorrow. Tomorrow is HSC.& I haven't decided yet what else. Heidi, can you please post your receipe for Shepard's pie, and protein pancakes? Sounds good. I want my husband to eat more healthy meals. Kate I keep picturing your Christmas tree leaning against the wall. :+ I for one do not want snow to arrive, but I know it's a commin. Have all of you been on a Road Trip?
I know Heather has.;-)
Rocky

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Rocky - i did CK for the 1st time this week - it was lots of fun. Some of the moves are in Cathe's newer stuff so it made it wasier to pick up the 1st time thru. Why do you picture my tree against a wall??!! LOL! We actually don't get one, but I do put up some decorations.

C&W on tap for today. I might not get a chance til LATE tongiht, but this one is a favorite so that should keep me motivated.

What's YOUR workout today? And remember to EAT CLEAN so all your hard work shows off!!!:)

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow! We got a lot of snow in just a few hours. Have to get out my ruler to measure. They are saying that the snow amounted anywheres from 9-13"! My son had a blast last night making a snow fort in the back yard. It stands at least up to my chest and looks like an igloo. :D

Kate: I have to agree with you on the C&W. This is a great circuit workout and lots of fun.}( Have a great workout!

Today's workout:
S&H chest, Shoulders and Back
Abs by MM
High Step Training is also on tap but I have to see on this one. I put in quite a few lower body workouts this week all ready.;-)

Plus...last night I slipped on my kitchen floor and landed on my right hip. I am waiting for the big bruise to show up. It is a little tender especially when I go to sit down but luckily not broken!!!

Rocky: Check out Tosca Reno's Cookbook for Eating Clean. For this is where I got all these recipes.:9 She has a lot of great dishes.

Hi to Kim, Kathy and Heather. Have a great day! BBL Heidi

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hi everyone! Our internet service was down the last couple of days. Maybe because of the weather there was a blizzard warning in effect yesterday with most highways closed down. Didn't seem bad in the city though. I went to work and a lot of our outpatients cancelled due to the weather so I lots of time to catch up on paperwork. This morning is frigid out in the minus 40s with the windchill. I guess I'll give the kids a ride to school;-) then the weather is supposed to turn nice for the next couple of weeks over Christmas. :7

Heidi- Hope your hip feels okay today! You sure do lots of workouts, I'm very impressed. The snow sounds like fun. Once it warms up here this weekend I'm sure my kids will be outside making forts too.

Heather- Sounds like you have some good ideas to manage your SAD symptoms. Nothing wrong with taking it easy at this time of the year, it's a very stressful time.

Kate- Sending you ### snowflake vibes. Hope you have a white Christmas.

Rocky- It's my Christmas tree that you're thinking of. It's leaning against the wall but hasn't fallen over again. I haven't been on a road trip before. It would be just so expensive to come down from Canada but I sure would love to go.

Kathy- When do you for your inlaws? Good for you for working out when you're away I always plan to and never do.

Wednesday night I was planning to do CK but ended up helping ds with flyers because it was so cold and then was too tired when we were finished. That was a two hour walk so figure I would count that for my 30 min walk later in the week . Thursday night I did CK which is so much fun. Today I plan to do a run later. I'm don't work Fridays so after I drop the kids off at school I hope to pick up the last of the Christams gifts and groceries and then run after lunch. Hope everyone else has a great day and weekend!!:7

Did anyone order the Cathe calendar and have you got it yet??
Kim

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Rocky - I've never been on a RT - tried to last year! Hope to in 2008!

Heidi - OUCH! Hope your hip is okay! Did anybody see you? Last winter DH slipped in the driveway and I felt really bad for him but I could NOT stop laughing. Still make me chuckle....

Kim - Enjoy your day off!!! Lucky girl! I ordered the calendar right away, but not rec'd it yet. Hoping to get it today. No email from snm yet!x(

RE: December Rotation Check-in

Hi Kate,

Aren't we terrible...I too laughed when my husband was chasing my oldest son around the yard trying to catch him. Then when he caught hold of his shirt my son pulled him right to the ground. My husband cracked a rib! Of course this was serious but I couldn't help laughing either. Ooop! ;-)

My mother in-law said the same thing about some men at her church that got injured. When a woman gets hurt everyone comes to their rescue.

Luckily my hip is just bruised and tender. My DH was resting on the second floor when it all happened. My DS and DD came to my rescue and went to get my DH up. It hurt really bad at first so I just stayed put until I could move. I was really afraid I broke my hip!

So other than a good bruise and being totally embarrased this was all. This would have really put a damper on our up coming vacation to the islands. :-(

Hi Kim: Sorry to hear that you have not received your calendar yet. I hope it arrives before the New Year! I was tempted to get one but I think most of my relatives will give me some sort of house calendar anyway. I can always use just the stickers on these. :D

Drive and walkways are cleared. Ready for the next storm headed our way for Sat. night and Sun. Looks like it is going to be pretty bad with snow and ice.

I am pretty spaced out right now and I still have my exercise routine to do...I think I will call it a day. Does shoveling for 2 hours count for cross-training? ;-) Might not be able to move tomorrow after the fall and shoveling! But I am tough! I can do it! :7
