CoNtRoL the DaMaGe in Sep!

Hey Ladies!:)

Came home a winner from the races so I'm a happy girl! :D Might be getting a TRX sooner then I thought! ;)

OMG, I am soooo sore!!! My UB still hurts from the trx and my LB now hurts from y'day's circuit and today's Insanity work out just made it all worse I think! :p

Diana:: Great work out! You kicked some serious arse! :D I feel like a whimp now! :p I know you can anchor the TRX to a door but IDT our doors are solid so I question weather they will hold full body weight like that. I'd feel safer with the anchor in the wall.

Lori:: LOL re your mom loving me. I am not usually that motivated but I had no choice today. It was get it done early or not at all today! I hate when people comment on my exercise habits and/or how much or what I choose to eat or not eat. Trust me, I've been there!!!:rolleyes: Just IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE!!! I know it's hard but it's not worth trying to get them to understand your motivation...I haven't started my Youtube production yet but don't worry, I'll let you gals in on it when I do!:p

Ok, gotta finish making dinner...chicken, cheese and blt sandwiches, fries and corn. I'm dispensing with the fries will be using the bacon and cheese sparingly!;)

TTITAM!

Good Morning

I went to bed earlier last night. DH was busy and he will be most of the week so I'm going to start going to bed earlier. Most of the time I stay up late to talk to him...I'll do both of us a favor and go do bed early

Today I start re training one of the ladies I use to train a while ago. She's a bit of work, more mentality then anything else. She is going to be here at 2 so I am going to get my workout in this morning. Im leaning towards GS chest and tris...and I dont know what else. I may continue on with the GS's or I may do cardio.

Wendy** my mo would love you...she would make me hang out with you and go to church! I think it's mostly jealousy when people yak about something they know nothing about but not b/c of how I look or anything like that. I think it's more discipline related. A lot of people don't have the discipline to do what we do every day...but that ain't my fault. Last I heard her and her husband were having troubles and it had something to do with someone she was spending to much time with at the gym. Maybe she isn't allowed to go to the gym anymore! One of the other mothers said " you run b/c you love it though, right"? She's friends with one of my friends and my friend said she is always telling people I run b/c I love it. I guess she told her. A lot of people ask how I can do it. It's not easy to run. We are lucky we've figured it out. But then again, most people think they can go from sitting to running. Good job with the win yesterday!! Now if you were gambling my mom would not like that! Haha!

I will bbl to report my workout and hopefully report DH passing his exam! I think he will be fine and he's confident...its just the waiting!

Lori:)

Good Morning. :)

Still sore but IDT it's as bad as y'day. Time will tell...

Today's work out plan right now is to do yoga this morning and then hit the gym for a run with DS in tow around 4pm. DH won't be around after work today b/c he is going on fishing trip or he'd probably be going to the gym too...

Lori:: Good luck to DH on his exam! Good luck training today! Is it her personality that is the challenge? LOL re your mom not liking that I went gambling y'day. She wouldn't like me then coz I LOVE to gamble and it probably trumps the fact that I go to Church once a week only ONE time per day. :p LOL

BBL!

Hey Girls

I'm done with half of my workout. I did the GS minus back again. I will run with the baby after I train this afternoon. It's pretty windy out though and I'm hoping it's not to windy for him. If it is, I may leave him home with DD if she comes home after school. She might have vball tryouts again.

Wendy** it's not her personality cause she has a good one. It's more the whining. She wanted to be skinny yesterday, says shes doing all the right things, falls of the wagon when her husband is home...etc...she just can't keep it together and I get to hear all about it. She sets goals for herself that aren't achievable for her and she doesn't listen when I tell her that they aren't realistic. It's kind of a cycle with her really. Ive been training her for over a year and half, give or take our breaks and what not and she's only managed to lose about 20 lbs the whole time. I could go on and on forever. Thankfully she doesn't point the finger at me. She knows that she does herself for damage then good. She also doesn't have the get up and go....she probably won't workout only the two days she is here. She needs someone to hold her hand.

DH feels good about the exam. He text me and said he is looking forward to getting it over with. He starts in 30 mins or so and it will take about 2 hours. He should be done mid afternoon my time. I will let you gals know right away. If I'm not around...it's not a good sign.

Lori:)

Hi Ladies,

I'm up a bit late this morning, not sure what I will do. Perhaps a BR or Zwow would be good.

DH and I had a wonderful romantic dinner last night to celebrate our anniversary! I had salmon on a bed of wilted spinach, mushrooms and baby potatoes. I didn't eat the potatoes since I did have a slice of bread from the bread basket. DH had bbq ribs, asparagus and baked mac & cheese. Two amaretto sours were had also-yum. We shared a dessert of Kahlua Chocolate Mousse. I'm definitely going to be looking for that recipe.

Wendy-I borrowed a TRX from a girlfriend who actually took TRX classes so she wasn't using it at home. I can't really remember how it attached to the door, but it definetely supported my weight just fine. I've looked at getting one several times but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Glad to hear that you like it! Winner Winner Winner....way to go Wendy!!!

Lori-good luck to DH today! My biceps are sore from GS yesterday. I upped the barbell weight to 37.5lbs and used 15's for the first set of hammers, went back to 12's for the second set with the bonus 6 counts....didn't think I could handle 15's for those...yet!

Laura-Happy Monday, hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Okay ladies, it's 8am.....BR it is.

MONDAY

Morning Ladies!

had an EXCELLENT weekend ... me and DH had quality down time and stress free fun!!! :) we went fishing on the river and I caught a 30# catfish  ya'll my bis were ON FIH-YA .. yikes!! No workouts to report (thanks to blisters) and extreme DOMS from Asylum Strength (shoulders - bis - tris and lats) .. but I did get some muscle work .. between catching the fish and pulling the damned anchor .. DH overdoes everything I think he had a 50# anchor on the dang boat .. it took every ounce of my strenght to pull it up  my back and hammies and shoulders are sore from pulling it .. and DH just was sitting there LAUGHING at me  I told him I dont know what he would have done if he married a WHIMPY woman!! He wouldnt make it!! :p

Lori - praying that DH aces the test!! do let us know! I know exactly what you mean about people that comment on food or workouts .. .. it ticks me off so bad! and my experience it isnt just women .. I swear if I eat something other than a salad or WW meal .. EVERYONE that comes thru in breakroom makes smart@$$ comments about .. "OOHHH you are gonna have to workout harder today" .. or "ooooooooooohhhhh .. you are actually eating" .. or "wow - being bad today" .. and not just women .. the stupid men say those things too    I mean these people eat far worse EVERY day - every meal 0- of their lives .. and if I want a fffn burger every blue moon .> I would like to eat it in PEACE w/o smart@$$ comments about exercise or me "being bad" .. gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Wendy - woohoo on the win!!! never been to a horse race .. bet that was fun!!! what exactly is TRX??? I am not familiar with that but if it made you sore .. yikes!!!!

Di - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! Hope DH showers you w/attention and kisses!!! :D

OK .. better run... I may hit hvy weights at lunch .. i need to go to grocery store tho and get some HEALTHY snacks for the fridge here! Tonight will be something .. havent gotten w/SIL yet to see what her agenda is .. will do that and go from there! have a great one!:D

Hello Again!:)

60m of Kundalini yoga done!:) The name of the DVD is "Lose Weight and Feel Great". Ok so the losing weight part isn't working out well for me right now  but the feel great part is true enough! :D Now I'm ready for that run later! ;)

Laura:: Wow, nice catch this weekend! Glad you put DH in his place when he started laughing at you! Way to go! ;) OMG, you obviously didn't catch my fri evening post about the TRX "class" I took at my SIL's house that morning! Here's what I wrote::

So I went to my SIL's and took her TRX "class"...and um...well....fantastic work out but...I kinda sorta got sick and had to stop early (after about 30 minutes). I got extremely nauseus, light headed and thought I might pass out. It was AWFUL!!!!! Thankfully it didn't last but maybe 10-15 minutes but I was NOT working out anymore! I am sure I probably pushed too hard and possibly didn't eat enough (I ate breakfast at 7 and we didn't start working out until 9:30). I usually atleast have a piece of fruit right before a work out if I didn't recently have meal but this time all I had was coffee...Not shying away though! Still going to try the groupon classes and may go back up to give it another go with my SIL as well. In fact, I already looked em up online and I am going to have DH check where the studs in the walls in the work out room are to see if we could attach the anchor and I can get me one of my own for Christmas maybe!;):D

and here's a link to the TRX so you can see what it is - Suspension Training With TRX - A Total Body Workout | TRX

Diana:: Happy Anniversary! Your dinner and dessert sound delicious!!! Glad you enjoyed! My SIL said if the door I want to hook the TRX too isn't solid and heavy (as opposed to hollow and light) that she wouldn't trust using the TRX with the door attachment. IDK if it would work. Maybe it would! I will be asking DH his opinnion. The wall anchor is only about $30 though so if it's necessary, it's fine with me. Whatever works so long as I don't bring the house down on myself when I try to use the darn thing!:p

Lori:: Aaaah yes, now I understand about your client. SIL has a few of them as well! Luckily for both of you they all recognize that it's THEM and not YOU who is at fault for their lack of (continuous) results! My SIL once had a client who did not understand simple genetics though and blamed her for not getting the results she was after. She switched trainers and again, no luck. Then she went and had plastic surgery done and guess what!? You guessed it - the problem was STILL there b/c there are some things that NOTHING will change!!!! Dumb azz!!!!

Ok, time for a shower, lunch and off to Kohls. We have a coupon and DS needs jeans and a fall jacket so I'll "force" myself to go!:p

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I ended doing this BR w/o this morning, twice through:

BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv

I don't have time to go to the rec ctr today. I'll have to make it up somehow this week. I have a busy work week as well as with DS's football and parent/teacher conferences. Conferences are Wednesday afternoon and football games are Thursday night and Friday, at 3pm...oy.

Wendy-we have cheap...hollow doors I'm sure.:p Enjoy your run this afternoon. At some point I need to throw on the running shoes and get back to it, but I'm not in any hurry. Happy shopping....I've been abstaining since spending so much on DS's school fees & clothes!

Laura-Wow, I would say pulling up that heavy anchor and reeling in a 30# fish counts as a w/o for sure!

Lori-hoping to hear some good news from you shortly!:)

...back to work for me.

He passed!!!!! Now he's gone for his drive. Hoping for some more good news in a hour or so!

Bbl to catch up with personals!

Lori:)

WOOOOOHOOOO

Ok .. was praying I would see Lori's name here .. and she would have good news .. woooohooo!! Congrats Lori .. now sending good driving vibes!!! :D:D:D:D:D so happy for you girlie!!

"Hey Hey Hey!" (Can anyone tell me where that is from?? :D )

Back to report my run is done to the tune of ITread #26/30 mins. I also did abs - some via machine, some on a mat with a med ball. Good stuff!:)

Now I just need to decide between a groupon TRX class, weights at home or Insanity for tmrw. Anyone care to voice an oppinion on what I should choose?;)

Gotta grab some dinner now so BBL or tmrw!

My work week has suddenly became full of meetings and I need to be there early every day...yuck...I hate mornings, especially having to spend it with a bunch of "happy in the morning" people. That really throws me off my rotation. I won't have time to get away for my lunch workouts so I'm going to have to do something short in the AM's. Of course my weight is up from my anniversary splurge....GGGRRRR. This may be BR week for me. I'm going to preview the last few ZWOW's too, perhaps I'll like the looks of one of those.

My shoulder is hurting me tonight and I couldn't figure out what it's from....guessing it was the walking pushups in the BR w/o this morning.

Lori-Yay for Dave passing, hoping he did just as well on the drive too!!!

Wendy-I think it's time for another TRX class!;)

bbl

Morning Glories. :)

Well, ofcourse I was planning on going to the TRX class today just as Diana suggested but then I listened to the weather. We are supposed to get heavy rain and strong winds all day long. The town this place is in is about 20 mins away WITHOUT any weather related issues/traffic (according to mapquest), IDK where I am going and I have to be back in town only 40 mins after the class ends to pick DS up from school. This could spell disaster for me! If I had been there before I might feel more comfortable but wisdom dictates that my first time out will just have to wait. They offer the class every tuesday and thursday so I'll give it a shot this thursday instead. ;)

That being said, I think today will be yoga and weights and tmrw will be yoga and Insanity...

Lori:: Congrats to DH for passing his exam!!!! Fingers crossed that he did well on the driving portion too!:D

Diana:: LOL - I guess your coworkers are happy perky morning people huh? ;) I am much better in the morning at work then in the afternoon but I do need a few minutes to sit with a cup of coffee first in order to perk up. After lunch I die like a dog. :p Can't wait to see which work outs you decide on for the week!

BBL!

Good Morning

Sorry I didn't come back...maybe I shouldn't have said that. He passed everything yesterday. He said he found this exam harder then the first. He also had his firearms test and he passed that too! Only 7 in his troop (there's 30 of them) passed. He was on a roll yesterday. Unfortunately two others didn't pass their redo. The lady decided she had had enough and she went home on her own. The guy who didn't pass will either get back trooped or they will send him home. It must be a terrible feeling. DH was on cloud 9 yesterday. Now I feel more comfortable having someone come in and look at my home to tell me a price range...and then put it up for sale. I also found out that the chances of us living remotely close to here is going to be slim. We may have to move pretty far away. It's going to be interesting.

I'm feeling yesterday's weight workout. GS always does that to me. I also went for a 7.5 k run in the afternoon. That's all I had time for and it was pretty windy. Pushing the stroller was a nightmare. Today I am having a baby group here so I'm just doing GS back, probably some abs and cardio. I'll have it all done in the a.m so I'm free to chat with moms after lunch.

Diana** sounds like you had a great night with DH. 24 yrs is impressive! It will be 11 for us on the 6th of oct. Did you figure out your workout plan for the week? I've been using db's for biceps and I usually use 20's and 15's. For shoulders I also upped it and use 20's for the first two sets of over head presses. I pretty much max out until I have to lower my weight. I would never be able to use 30's for all that chest work though!

Laura** lol...I was picturing you hauling that anchor up while DH sat back with a beer in his hand:p. I'm guessing that anchor felt like it weighed more then 50 lbs with the resistance of the water. Good for you! You show um! We had a awesome day yesterday. I'm glad he is feeling more confident in himself now.

Wendy** I vote you should do the trx, mainly b/c you wanted to throw up the last time!:p You have to go in there and rock it:eek: Yeah I don't know anyone who lost weight doing yoga. I remember when those Pilates workouts came out about 10 yrs ago..can't remember the name of them. Everyone and their dog around here bought them b/c the commercial claimed that they were gonna lose weight. They didn't...shocker!

I will bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

Hello. I'm back! :p

Ok so I was scouting around looking for information regarding which organization I should certify with for PT. I decided to take a shot and check out what my local community college had to offer and they have something that sounds phenominal!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the blurb from the college website -

Personal Trainer National Certification Program

Start a new career as a certified personal trainer. Areas of study include: Anatomy,
exercise physiology, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, cardio-respiratory
fitness, nutrition, musculoskeletal injuries, weight control, health screening,
motivation, teaching techniques, and more. National certification exam given last
day of class and fee is included. The Heart Saver Adult CPR course is required for
certification, and may be taken before, during, or after the course. A 30-hour post
course internship is required upon successful completion of certification exam.
Co-sponsored with World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.).

And here is the link to W.I.T.S. - Personal Training Education from W.I.T.S. -- the Best Provider of Personal Trainer Schooling

I really think it's the way I should go! The way they do things as compared to every other organization is just sooooo much better! Hands on-in person experience during the course AND a 30 hour internship afterwards!?! This is EXACTLY what I need/want!!!! The next session starts about 1 month from now. Hopefully I'll be enrolled!!! :D

Lori:: WOW! Sounds like DH really did awesome this time! WOO HOO! Good for him!:) I don't seriousy expect to lose weight doing yoga but since that's in the name of dvd I had to comment on it! LOL I DO need to lose a few pounds that I put on on vacation and haven't totally lost thanks to too much bad eating/drinking afterwards though! That's where Insanity comes into play! ;) Enjoy your baby group today and your GS doms! I pulled GS out and considered trying to work it into my rotation but I just don't think a split is going to work for me right now. Oh well. Back to the drawing board!:p

K, time for yoga but I'll be back after!

Morning Ladies,

I'm enjoying a quick cup of coffee before I do this BR:
BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv

I reviewed and wrote down 3 ZWOD w/o's and the Loving Fit's Round and Tight Booty Challenge. The back side needs some work so hopefully this challenge will help. It's 3 exercises to be done on leg days-twice per week. Each week you increase the reps or the time for an isometric hold exercise. The exercises are bridges (to be done before the w/o), single leg bridges and tight booty hold (to be done after the w/o).

Lori-Woo Hoo, congrats to DH!!! So if you have to move all the time, does the RCMP provide relocation assistance....meaning they'll pay for your house at fair market value if it doesn't sell? I think I know who you are talking about, Mari Windsor! Here's what I've heard, weight lifting makes already strong muscles stronger, pilates works all the underlying muscles that don't get worked during weight training. It also builds strength without bulk, this is the type of exercise dancers and ballerinas do. I'm actually thinking of going to strictly plyometric work for my legs...for a bit.

Wendy-that looks perfect! I myself would prefer a class setting and having a teacher over an online course. Thursday sounds like it would work out much better for TRX. No need to be rushed or flustered trying to find the place or getting back to the school in time.

....off to bodyrock!!

Hello...I'm back...after a nap though, not a work out. :eek::p

I did Windsor pilates for a while. Good stuff. I sold the work outs I had which I now regret but maybe some day I'll get back into it...I could get certified to teach it! ;)

That reminds me...I was nosing around the WITS site and they have a yoga course useful for personal trainers offered for ceu credits! You know that made me happy! :D:p

Ran the basics of the course by DH and he seems good with it so I'm thinking I'll be enrolling this week!:D It might come out to a little more $ then your standard cert but IMO it's totally worth it when you consider what you are getting for your $$$ as compared to the others! The classes are full days on saturdays for 6 weeks. The saturday part is a bummer but I can understand why they did that as it makes it doable for those who are working during the week. I can deal. It's not forever! :) Maybe it'll help me take off these pesky couple of pounds too coz that means mine and DH's friday night activities (CABS) will have to be scaled back until the course is over! :p

Diana:: The BR you've chosen for today sounds good. I'm not even going to look at the other stuff. I'm confused enough as it is as to how I'm going to fit in all of my work outs! I don't need to add more temptation to it! :p That's a good question regarding Lori having to relocate often. IMO they had BETTER help them!!!

Ok, now I am seriously going to work out now....I SWEAR!!!!;)

BBL!

Morning Ladies! TUE

Hey ..

SIL and I ended up doing CF - FUN - my back was twingy from pulling the anchor and I could feel it while exercising - then last night it was spasming in the bed .. woke me up several times and I had nightmares .. ugh! It is sore today .. but not hurting!

Lori - yayayayayayayaya .. good for DH .. I am sooooo happy for both of you!! WTG!!!! good luck on putting house up on the market .. how is realestate market there?? ours is HORRIBLE!!!! hey .. i bought me an early bday present - those lulu shorts i wanted .. :D

Wendy - WOW that sounds awesome .. yes not only a hands on experience but and internship .. wow .. go for it!!!

Di - enjoy your bodyrocking!!! WISH I could drink caffiene/coffee .. today would be one of those days I NEED it . ugh ...

OK . so today is heavy weight @ CC .. then XFACTOR tonight! tmw weather should be AWESOME .. soooo hoping for a long run .. IF my fffn blisters cooperate .. broke downa n ordered me some new running shoes ... they should be in tmrw! wooot woot! :D

have a great one!

Hey Girls

I started my workout out with GS back, hoped on the tm for 20 mins, not knowing what I was going to do next and I ended up pulling out cf and doing that. Also did bm2 abs.

Diana** I don't use heavy weights for my legs. Mostly b/c I don't have the equipment and to try and get heavy weights on my shoulders will def injury me:eek: so I just opt for lighter weights plus I know I won't bulk up. I think my thighs have a tendency to do that. They use to be bigger before I had ds1. I'm sure your plyometric idea will be a good one.

Wendy** I think your excited about your new venture!!!! That will be awesome. I think my course cost around 1400 but it took a lot longer then 6 weeks. Esp doing it on my own. I'm sure a refresher is I order for this brain.

Laura** woo hoo on the new shorts! I didn't even look to see what was new today. Every Tuesday they update their website and I usually get sucked into something. The house market here is good actually and I don't think there is much around to buy and I think it will sell quickly. My babysitter was interested in my house but she thought she was going to get a awesome deal. Sorry...I don't give deals when it comes to selling my home and making money!

Bbl!

Lori:)

Hello!

My work out is done...FINALLY!:p

STS TB premix #7 plus the no eqiuipment stretch from Stretchmax. :) OMG was my azz fired up during and after the work out! I could be in some real trouble tmrw while trying to do Insanity!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Got the official approval from DH to sign up for that PT cert course! Will take care of that this week for sure! :D Maybe even as soon as TODAY! :p

Lori:: Only YOU would add on ALL of CF after already working out for 40 minutes! I would add on a couple of segments maybe but not the whole thing! You know I admire you for it though! :) $1400? Really? That seems really high but that could be a standard cost for something like that in Canada. How much do PT's make an hour by you on average?? A PT cert here hovers around the $500 mark give or take a few bucks. The one I am doing is $650. More then I paid last time but I feel it will be well worth it and it's waaaaay cheaper then going to college to get a 4 year degree!!!

Laura:: Glad this cert course sounds as good to you as it did to me as you are a super experienced fitness instructor! :) I'm soooo excited!!!! :D The college also offers the same cert course style for group instructor too if I decide I want that as well! :D I see that we have another CF'er in da house! Woot! Yay for new running shoes! I know you'll use 'em in good health!!!

Guess that's all for now but I'll BBL or ITAM!
