CoNtRoL the DaMaGe in Sep!

Good Morning:)

WTF? We were on the 2nd page!! Can't have that!

I went to visit a friend last night and we didn't get home until 8:30 or so and I opted out of doing legs or yoga!!! Lol. I know your not surprised WENDY!

My plan today is to do weights in the a.m and run in the afternoon while DS is at school. I need to check the weather though cause it looks like its going to rain today. I could still keep my cardio for the afternoon though and just do it in the basement while the baby naps.

Have a good day everyone!

Lori:)

Good Morning. :)

Sorry we fell to page 2, Lori. I promise I will never let it happen again! :p

Today's plan is a Terminator work out...which ever one has the most weight work in it.

Today is DS' first day of 2nd grade! I can't believe how big he is getting! *sniff* He is excited! I can tell...even if he won't admit! ;)

Lori:: Yeah, PS work outs with the exception of legs are short. That's why I like them. So did your son willingly get on the bus this morning or did he fight? My son wants to take the bus in the worst way but I tell him there's no point if I can drive him. By the time we walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus I could have him at school. He doesn't like that answer. LOL

Ok, better go so he's not late on his first day!

BBIAB!

Hi Ladies,

Oh my, I am so sore from ViPR last night. I slept like a baby though.:p I think its Cardio Balance & Power...can't remember the name for sure. Perhaps this will count as yoga.;)

The only thing I managed to get done was laundry yesterday. I'm making a list so I can clean out some stuff this month. I'm hoping to take ViPR this month and next, then Holiday Meltdown starts in November.

Lori-I'm sure Rylan will catch on in no time. We always lived within walking distance to all the schools. It was no big deal for them to walk and easy for me to give them a ride if they were running a bit late. Nice run yesterday. It looks like our temps are dropping into the 80's, soon I should be able to run at lunch. I'm trying to follow Insanity in the AM, and do my weight training at the rec ctr at lunch.

Wendy-Wow, Joey is in 2nd grade already. He's growing up fast! I hear yah on driving him to school, at least then you know he made it. My favorite Terminator is the Viper, I think that's what it's called anyway.

Laura-sounds like you had a great long weekend! I'm sure you will back to your normal workout routine in no time. Life is short and we have to be able to enjoy ourselves when the opportunities present themselves!

Time for me to go see Shaun T. ;)

THURS that is my FRI!! woot woot!

Morning Ladies!

Well I got stuck at work ystdy - and didnt get to workout - but did get home in time to take the babies for a ride .. and then we went over to DB and tried to help fix his well .. then on to DA for my DU b-day - they cooked ribs and they were soooo good and tender ... it was a nice night for a change!!!! :D

Lori - I saw Rylan's picture on FB .. OMG .. that is just priceless!!! You need to frame that for him!!! LOLOL .. his expression said it all!! think that is how I look when I am riding to work in the morning!! :p hey ... what part of Canada do you live and your DH stationed in .. that hurricane out there is headed toward Canada  and damned Isaac went up .. came down .. and has reformed in the Gulf  WTH??? that storm wont die!!!

Di - so ViPR wooped butt huh? good .. sounds like a fun class .. have fun w/SeanT today .. I may need to revisit him some .. to get this fluff off .. althought think my "fluf" has turned into "fluff and stuff"

OK .. so today is either gonna be AB or a run! not sure which one yet .. tmrw I am on VACA . . woot woot .. DH on vaca all week .. no travel plans .. just honey do's and some errands to run!! ok .. better run .. have a great one! I will bbl to see what everyone is up to!

The Viper is done!:eek::D:eek:

Diana:: Hopefully your Vipr classes will inspire me to get moving on the TRX classes and not forget about them! So when's your first yoga class at the rec center? ;)

Laura:: I say do AB today and then run off the sore buns tmrw! :) Enjoy your vacation!!!!

Good Morning:)

So dingy here this morning. As much as I want time to zoom by, I don't like these dark mornings. It's raining out so that doesn't help. I'm not sure how much longer I can go without turning the heat on. I'll freeze my kids and buy more lulu....I know that's what your all thinking:p

Yesterday I ended up doing arms again. I wanted to do legs but I didn't want my legs to feel like they were 100 lbs each during my afternoon run. I did Amy bento/ME shoul, bics, tris and abs and a ab section from STS series. Then in the afternoon the baby and I went for a 9 k run. I felt good when I started out but it didn't take long for me to get tired of pushing that stroller in the wind:rolleyes:. So b/c it's raining I have a feeling I will be doing legs and a run circuit downstairs this morning and having it done. Yesterday I was finished my morning workout by 11, which gave me two hours to be organized for lunch and to meet DS at the school. I found that this was enough time so I need to be done by 11 again today.

I have no plans for this weekend. I'm certainly not going home. I've drove out that way enough the last few weeks. I don't know if I will bother to going home anymore until my sister arrives on the 25th. I feel like gutting my room, that could be a chore for tomorrow and Sunday. I'm on the fence about having a yard sale but it's so much work and it brings out all the weirdos!

I had some jeans come yesterday. It's the first time I've ever bought skinny jeans:eek:. One pair fit good cause they were super stretch or something and the other pair fit but I had a little room in the waist and I'm not sure how much they will stretch. I don't know if I should send them back or wear them. Maybe if I threw them in the dryer after I wash them they may shrink some...

Wendy** so your not gonna let DS take the bus?? I wouldn't if the girls weren't on the bus. They are like old mother hens so I know they will keep an eye on him. They will also report any bad behavior! But he really isn't on the bus that long to be that bad! Lol. There is a mailbox across the st and when I looked yesterday he was sitting on the top of it:eek:. One of the boys put him up there. Nice workout. I use to think those workouts burned like a cagillion cals. Just like IMAX 1!

Diana** sounds like you enjoyed your new class. It sounds interesting. I was thinking yesterday that its nice to be able to run in the afternoons again. I could have wore a long sleeve shirt I think. It's not hard to tell that Fall is just around the corner!

Laura** that was funny! I laughed at that for a while. I was picturing you sitting in your car, driving to work all depressed! Ha! Enjoy your vaca even if you aren't going anywhere. Just enjoy not having to be anywhere at a certain time!

I will bbl to report my workout. There won't be much excitement here today, I should be around.

Lori:)

Good Morning & TGIF!!! :D

Today's work out plan is an ab circuits routine and yoga/stretching. :)

Surprisingly, I am not sore from the Viper. I thought I'd be dying. Go figure!

Lori:: Nice work out! You keep workin' u/b like that and you will look like Arnold Schwarzegger soon!!!:p:D Nope, no bus for DS until I have no other choice!!! Is that mean of me?? So my SIL has me considering getting re-certified in personal training or getting certed in group fitness instead. She is a PT and the gym she worked at recently shut down so she has opened up a biz of her own in her home with another trainer. They are getting very busy and she said if I were to get certified and she got busy enough she would have me do some work for her. In the meantime I am also inquiring with local gyms about front desk positions with the intention of certing and moving onto pt or teaching classes for them. I'm willing to give it another shot but not unless I know someone is willing and able to give me a chance at a job...Heck, I've applied to atleast 15 non-fitness related jobs (things I'm technically more qualified to do!) and haven't heard from ANY of them so my luck can't get any worse!

Hi Ladies,

Well I didn't get in a workout yesterday...UGH. I logged into work and started working on issues and before I knew it I had to shower and head in to work.

Today will be Insanity Pure Cardio or a HIIT and some ab work. I'll have to hit the weights this weekend as I won't be able to make it to the rec ctr today. I'm actually considering starting a psuedo STS rotation, starting with Meso 2 though and doing each week twice.

I mowed the lawn last night and although as far as I know the lawn hasn't been watered in 2 weeks, it's very lush, green and moist. I mentioned this to DH who said the sprinkler timer resets itself when the power goes out which means the sprinkler system could be turning on every night and we haven't noticed. Definitely not looking forward to the next months water bill.

I'm supposed to go to dinner with DMIL, but I may cancel so I can go to the varsity football game. It is with our cross town rivals and DH wants me to go.

Wendy-I definitely think group fitness cert is the way to go....along with re-certing for personal trainer. You can use certifications at any gym and they are always looking for Fitness class instructors. Sorry you are not hearing much on the job front, but don't be too discouraged as it takes a long time. I sent out about 20+ resumes over the summer and have only had 3 interviews and maybe 6 responses. Look at your local city government jobs and see if there is anything available for you. Not sure if your interested in banking, but tellers are always needed....you probably don't like working with the public, I wouldn't either.

Lori-I'm guessing your arms are ripped by now with all the UB work you do!:D I've never been one to have good luck with jeans, but if they are too big in the waist...I'd send them back. On vacation we shopped the outlet stores and I tried on about 5 pairs of Lucky's and they all gaped in the back, it's so frustrating.

Laura-enjoy your vacation! My house needs a little TLC, painting etc. DH and I may be taking a couple of long weekends to get some of this stuff done. Sundays are kind of wasted since DH watches football, that's why we would need an extra day or 2.:p

aaahhhhhh..vaca at home the best!!!!!

I got to sleep late...start some laundry...thrn ate..then cleaned ..then did AB...eeeeooouch...my legs were sore from my rin ystdy..i ran 4 miles after work..94 degrees..sunshine..it was kinda brutal...40 min..i was a sweat ball...and did the huge hill...think that is what killed my legs...i will be really sore tmrw..with AB on top of sore legs frm ystdy...

Lori...i wouldnt know what too big jeans are..lol..u lucky thing...well we all know it is not luck..it is..you working your arse off...

Di...sorry you missed your workout ystdy..but sound like u are going to make up for it today..

Wendy..go for your group certf....you wld b awesome..and with all the different workouts you so..you can easily put together a kickarse class...and hey..it is what you are passionate about..i loved teaching..my dream job would be owning my own fitness center..teaching and training....go for it...

Ok..we are about to sit down for lunch...have a great one

Good Afternoon Ladies. :)

Well, some how the Ab Circuits morphed into 40 mins of Turbo Barre :p but then I kept my word and did some yoga - YogaMax Premix #2 - which, btw, includes some ab work so I don't feel as guilty ditching Ab Circuits as I could have. ;) I would have done AC along with the what I did but I didn't have time b/c I was lazy and put off my work out until the very last minute.:rolleyes:

Thanks for the votes of confidence for reconsidering a job in fitness. I was thinking that I might do better as a group fitness instructor then a P/T...my concern though is memorizing the routines. If I am going to do it, I will probably go for both though b/c that way my options are wide open. Again though, I really hesitate to do it unless I get a gym to hire me first...I applied to one gym and sent emails inquiring about the possibility to 2 or 3 other gyms...Fingers crossed that MAYBE someone will respond!?!?!:(

Diana:: I would consider being a teller even if only part time (they are hiring right in my town actually), but they all require previous teller/cash handling experience of which I have none. I know I need to be patient regarding the job search. It's just hard. I am sure you identify with how disheartening it is to send out a bunch of applications/resumes and get ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE to them!!!:( Sorry you missed your work out yesterday. You have a good work ethic! If I were WFH, I would NEVER miss a work out! :p

Laura:: Nice hot run there!!! Great job on AB as well!!! That one fries my lower body! YEOWCH!!! So what ever happened to that job offer to teach classes else where? Did you turn it down? Will you ever go back to teaching?

Ok, I gotta get my stinky buns in the shower - had to go get DS from school before I could do that! Whoops! :p

BBL or more likely ITAM! Ciao!

Good Morning:)

Yesterday's workout was 25 mins on the TM/20 min tabata spin and PS Legs and Abs. I wasn't certain what I was going to do today but I'm leaning towards a
AB and a run. I thought that I might run outside but i forgot that I have a baby shower this afternoon. If my in laws were gonna take the kids, it would have been ths afternoon.

I didn't do a big lot yesterday. School went well. He didn't want to go of course but he'll get use to it. After I dropped him off I went to see a friend I use to train. I was there for about 2 hours. Then my bil invited me next door for dinner. By the time we were done eating, it was time to put the baby in bed. I don't think my weekends are going to seem as long coming up. Really, there is no difference in a weekend and a week day. Its not as if I watch all this tv in the weekdays or anything. DH has his midterm on tues. Say a little prayer. I think he will do good and he feels good about it...just doesn't hurt to say a few pleases to the big guy:)

Wendy** no it's not mean of you that you won't let Joey take the bus! Someday you might have too though...if your working. I just thought if the time you were trying to take him somewhere and when he came downstairs he had gum stuck in his hair....lol:D:D. Oh that way FUN-NY! I laughed so hard at that! My issue with the bus is that it arrives at the school when the bell is ringing. The kids have no time at all. DS moves slow enough as it is. He needs at least 10 mins to get inside the school, get his coat off and get in his class. I don't know what you would make training but it sounds like an option! That's what I would want to do but I wouldn't want to do group training, although I've thought about it if we move to a more isolated area. Or even a running group. A lot of the isolated areas around here don't have these things and a lot of people want to run...that just don't know where to start. I'm not one to stand in front of a crowd though, I'd rather do one on one.

Diana** you have a water bill? Dear Lord...I have enough bills, nvm if I had to pay for my water too:eek:. I'm not looking forward to my electricity bills in the winter , although we really only have oct and nov to worry about and it won't be any worse then when DH was here with us. I decided to send the jeans back. After I wore a pair of my old jeans yesterday and they got fairly lose as the day went on, I decided that it was probably best to get a smaller size. I also have a $50 gc for a local jean place...I may go by there today. I don't mind buying jeans now that I am back to my normal size. I didn't want to bother before cause I knew I wouldn't get much use out of them.

Laura** how was your first day of vaca!? I love AB...looking forward to doing it today. While I was waiting for DS to get off of the bus yesterday I was talking to one of the teachers and she was telling me how small I was (I heard that 3 times yesterday and it's kind of embarrassing...I'm not starving myself) then she said, well you work for it....I just eat chips all night long...lol.

I should get my baby some cereal. He just clapped his hands for the first time. My mom was working on that when we were home. She's gonna be so happy.

Bbl!
Lori:)

Good Morning. Happy Saturday!!! :)

Today's plan is a run at the gym plus abs.

Tmrw's plan is possibly a rest day but maybe not!:p

Next week's plan is yoga/stretching only....Hope I can stick with it!:confused::eek::eek:

Lori:: LOL - I forgot about the "gum incident"! That was when he was in preschool and it was time to get to school/work and he comes out of his room with gum stuck to him! OMG! I wanted to ...!@#$@.... I was soooo mad! You know when it comes to PT vs teaching classes I always believed I would prefer PT for the one on one vs standing in front of a crowd thing too. I also chose it b/c you can make PT a full time job where class teaching can't be...unless you are into killing yourself! But now, after training my friend(s) and re-thinking it, I think the class thing might be a better fit for me b/c you only have to memorize ONE routine at a time instead of several of them (depending on the number of clients you have), plus I think it's easier to keep people happy in a group class that they aren't paying $50 an hour for (though that's really cheap for training in a gym!). I am petrified of clients not being happy and quitting on me. If it happens too much then I face possibly failing as a trainer and losing my job and that scares me to death! So anyway, I think a mix of both would be good so I have a choice or I could do both at the same time! Ofcourse, if I don't get a gym to give me a chance then it's a moot point anyway.

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I'm up a couple of lbs but I'm blaming that on CABs! I've been eating pretty clean and fees good about that. This is vacation weight but now that I'm back to my normal w/o routine I expect it to be gone in a few days.

Yesterday I did Pure Cardio and totally got my ass kicked. The first half was great, then I just sort of fell apart. I took a few breaks to compose myself and completed the w/o. Here's hoping week 2 is much better. I think today calls for PCC....I may do weights instead and do PCC tomorrow.

The varsity team lost last night 17-14, and I'm off to the JV game in a bit. Jerod has a back injury so he didn't play last night, hopefully he can play today.

Wendy-Enjoy your run! We had a nice change of temps for yesterday, in the high 70's, but now we are back to the 90's and hopefully the 80's. I agree with the group certification too. Most of our group instructors are also certified in PT. Most of them also work several part/time jobs. I like most of the trainers at my rec ctr, but I tend to avoid taking classes with 1 of the gals. She's a little to peppy, over the top etc for me. Most folks prefer group classes at times that are convenient for them. They meet new like minded people that way.

Lori-you don't have to pay for water....do you have a well? We have city water and definitely have to pay for it. When the girls were here they loved taking baths in the master bath...huge jetted tub that we don't even use. It takes a ton of water. We have electricity bills too and those are high in the summer from the central air, and high in the winter from heating the house. We just can't win on the bill front! Probably best you sent the jeans back. Seems I try on 20 or more pairs of jeans before I can find one that fits. I hate shopping for jeans...they all gap in the back..UGH! I have 1 pr of lucky's that fit great and a pair of levi's curve ID that fit.

Laura-You are awesome, running in that heat. I figure in a few more weeks I can get back to running a bit when the temps drop.

Hello Ladies. :)

3.25 mile run done ala' ITread plus upper/lower abs. :D

I've showered and eaten lunch already. Just waiting for some java to brew. That's my dessert. ;)

Di:: Our temps are supposed to cool off this coming week. It hasn't been crazy over the top hot here but the humidity is high lately and to me, that's worse. So are you actually doing an Insanity rotation or just going through the work outs for a change of pace?

Ok, coffee's on! BBL peeps!

ETA:: LMAO! My coffee was ready but I forgot to actually put COFFEE in the coffee pot to brew so all I got was hot water! Trying this again! :p

Hi Ladies,

Well this is turning into an unscheduled rest day. I hate taking rest days on the weekends. Jerod's team won today 14-13, although varsity lost last night 17-14....in the last 10 seconds of the game. Jerod had some nice plays today and one of our friends got some good pics for us.

Anyway, I volunteered to wash the stinky JV jerseys...gross I know. Last week I did them at home, but today I took them to a laundrymat.;) They were just way to gross & stinky to deal with that again. I also purchased a rolling tub to put them in after the games! By the time I got gas, dropped of the jerseys, got my oil changed...went to Wal Mart etc.. there's not enough time to workout before going to dinner for MIL's birthday.

Wendy-you poor thing, hope the coffee brews quickly the second time around.:p I'm actually following the Insanity rotation in the AM and doing weights at lunch. Now I'm considering doing STS but using Insanity for the cardio days...following the insanity rotation though.

bbl

Good Morning:)

We had a little sleep in this morning:). We are normally up by 6:40'ish but we slept till 8! I don't feel any better though cause the dog barked at 4:53 and I couldn't get back to sleep:mad:. And now there's no milk here so I can't seem to get the taste of my coffee right this morning:mad::mad:. Ran next door to get a little and they have none either:eek:

Yesterday I did AB and 40 mins on the tm. I'm not sure what I will do today. I'm leaning towards just running outside. It's suppose to be nice. To answer LAURAs question from the other day, we are suppose to have bad weather tomorrow from issac but I haven't heard anything about it recently. I should check the weather channel.

The baby shower was nice yesterday. After the shower we ran to the mall nd I bought a new pair of jeans out of the gc I had...plus had to chuck in another $50 of course. I was surprised how much I loved wearing those skinny jeans yesterday! And mostly b/c when I was home they weren't dragging under my feet like my normal jeans.

Wendy** there is a level of fear that comes with training people personally b/c I think they expect a lot. One thing they expect is for you to wave your magic wand and they lose 20 lbs. I'm not sure if they realize that they need to move I their own and that they really need to watch what they eat. One girl I use to train use to walk a lot ..etc....but she kept saying the weight wasn't coming off. She was mind boggled and it was confusing me as well cause if she was doing what she said she was and eating what she said she was, then she should have weighed 95 lbs! She didn't fess up until about a month later when she round about told me that if she worked out more, she ate more:mad:. I'm not sure who she thought she was lying to....herself or me? My friend did that with her coffee the other day. I told her she needed a coffee before she made her coffee:p. Enjoy your yoga week!

Diana** nope, no well. We do have to pay property tax every year. It's about $2500 for us. I'm not sure if that would be considered in the services, I know trash removal is. And our electricity bill in the summer is good b/c we don't have ac either. So all the heat is turned off in the house, plus cookie kind of slows down b/c I don't want to turn the stove on. Not that I have been cooking much with DH gone. Did you end up taking a rest day? I feel the same way about weekends b/c it's the only time there isn't something in my schedule!

Bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

Good Morning Ladies. :)

DS starts Sunday School this morning at 9 and I think he's actually kind of excited about it! :D This should be his second year but I screwed up last year and forgot to register him. Bad mom. I started a year late too though and was able to get bumped up and make my Communion on time anyway so hoping they do the same for my DS!

Not sure what work out I will do but I will get something done and it will include upper body. I can't work out until after Church though. We will go as soon as DS gets out of SS - 10:30 Mass. We may start going to Mass more often on Saturday nights now coz otherwise we tie up our entire Sunday morning between Sunday school and Mass.

Diana:: Congrats to Jerod for playing well regardless of winning or losing the game!

Lori:: So are you drinking your coffee black this morning? I'd rather run out of sugar then drink it black. ICK. I don't like milk in coffee. I much prefer half n half (creamer). In fact, I actually like the powdered creamer over milk as well! I know that's a strange preference but I'm a wierdo so it makes sense! LOL :p Nice work out as usual! :)

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I've been spending entirely too much time on the computer....not doing anything productive but playing games like mahjong and spider solitaire. Needless to say I got a late start on my day.

I just finished PS back, biceps, & abs, and Insanity PCC. Laundry is still going and I need to shower and grocery shop, pay bills, file a ton of stuff....my own fault for not getting started earlier.

Wendy-I love both of the BM step w/o's, but the weights are great too. Funny you should post recipes....I've been thinking about asking if you made anything good lately.

Lori-okay, I'm puzzled, I pay property tax too but it doesn't include my trash or water, I pay separately for both of those services. Maybe we should look at relocating to Canada when DS graduates HS.:p

Laura-hope you are enjoying your time off!

Good Morning:)

Yesterday was a rest day:eek:. I planned on running but it was soooo windy after lunch, then the baby was late taking his nap, then it was dinner time. I thought my mil was having turkey and salads but instead it was turkey with all the fixings! So there was no way I could run after that. I was in bed before 11 though which is odd for me. Baby was awake at 12 and 5 but I feel good. Is it not weird that he wakes every morning at 6:48? Lol

I'm not sure what I willbe doing today. My parents were going to come here last night after church but they didn't after. My plan was to do a nice long run this morning, now that they aren't here I'm wondering if I should go back to my original plans of weights in the a.m and run in the afternoon. I think they are coming here for the day so I could run after lunch but it looks like its going to rain. I also want to wait and see if ctx arrives today....or any of the other DVDs I have ordered! If not I'm leaning towards the GS's.

Wendy** how was church? I've went to church more since dh left then in the last 5 yrs! My parents go every Sunday..twice...very religious. We were forced to go as chiildren. Of course when we were young it was terrible...lol...bored to tears. Now as an adult I realize that there are a lot worse things that could have happened to us as children! I don't go but I should. Maybe when we move I will start going! That would make my parents super happy. How were your new dishes? Sounded yummy!

Diana** you should have moved here when you were having kids! That's when you would have had a yrs mat leave and no water or trash bill:p. I know every place is different. My parents pay for their water. I think she said its little over $200 a yr. I'm sure we wouldn't be having this conversation if your bill was that..lol. I have no doubt I am paying for it some where along the way. Maybe it's included in my property tax. Cause the town isn't giving it to us out of the goodness of their hearts! Which reminds me...I should go pay some on what I owe!

Laura** hope you had a good weekend!

Oh...I have a crawling baby! He's still getting the hang of it but he's doing it. I should won't be able to sit for long periods. I should go get him, he has himself jammed between the wall and the couch...he's stuck! Ha!

Lori:)
